A return visit to buy more vegan tiffin! This time I also bought a delicious sausage roll ,the two items for my lunch stop on a walk from Bath to Bradford on Avon. I had first bought the tiffin a couple of months ago and couldn't wait to buy more ,hence this return visit! It is absolutely perfect with thick chocolate and rich biscuit and fruit! Friendly staff, reasonable prices and prompt service all added to a good experience. Thank you

Disappointing breakfast. Eggs were poached undercooked with snotty whites, we weren’t asked how we wanted our eggs, if so would have been fried not poached. Sausages over cooked and hard seemed like they were yesterdays. With a little more effort could be a good breakfast. Have eaten here in the past and breakfast was always good.

What a fabulous place! My husband and I have walked the Bath Skyline twice in recent years and both times have stopped off here for lunch. The food is always tasty and varied and the staff very friendly. We love the higgledy-piggledy, eclectic decor too; so charming and welcoming. We were touched to see that children from low income families can (discreetly) enjoy free lunches here during school holidays too. What kind and community spirited people the owners must be. The only reason we haven’t given 5 stars is because we felt the food was on the pricier side, but this absolutely would not deter us from coming back. It’s a great deli and we’d certainly recommend.

I went in for the full set breakfast. There was nobody else in there when I went in but the food took a very long time to arrive. It was served on a cold plate; the quantity was very small, considering the price; the toast was cold; the sausages were small, not very tasty and cold; the bacon was cold and rather tough; the eggs were very cold. The tea was cold and tasted unpleasant. Cutlery was provided wrapped in a soggy napkin. If I hadn't been pressed for time, I would have complained and sent it back. Despite its good location, I would not recommend this cafe/deli.

Staying nearby we decided to come here for breakfast, although food was ok a few of the items were over cooked, both the eggs and bacon on the well done side, very difficult to eat the breakfast sandwiches as bread was crumbly. Coffee was tasty, the “regulars” were greeted in a friendly manner, visitors on the whole ignored. Whilst the additional flowers on food are attractive they aren’t something any of us particular welcome.

We were expecting a lot more here today after seeing the reviews. We were staying just a few metres away so location was great. Two of the breakfasts were ok, two weren’t. One breakfast had overcooked eggs and cold beans in a cold dish. My eggs were ok but not that warm. The plates you are serving on need to be at the very least warm. If you are offering two eggs on toast it should be one egg per slice of bread, not one egg per half slice. Also when a customer simply asks for the beans on the toast and eggs on top, A) don’t roll your eyes and B) Do what was asked! We don’t mind paying the price for these breakfasts but we need to go away happy and thinking we had value for money. Sadly today we didn’t. Maybe just a one off, after seeing your reviews. It’s a nice location and a nice little deli / cafe, just not for us today. Also this is the response we got from same review on Google. ''eye rolling" is our standard response to awkward and patronising customers - good customers get great service - it's worth remembering...." If these people think asking for the beans on the toast with the eggs on the top is being awkward then something is wrong. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt after seeing the other reviews and putting it down to a one off. I hope other people see your response and avoid!!

Let me first say it was a very busy sunny Saturday - I've always noticed this place whilst driving past so we decided to walk along the canal and stop off for a Saturday brunch before heading in to the shops. It was busy inside and out with loads of staff buzzing around. We stood by the counter for a couple of minutes and were completely ignored by all. i then asked whats the proceedure - do we order at the counter, find a table etc. I was told, in a very off hand way, to wait and they will be with us soon. Eventually our order was taken, although they had run out of my first choice, and we were asked to get our drinks from the fridge in the other room (fridge was situated behind an arm chair and two full tables of customers - so that was a fun few minutes retrieving an orange juice) Finally our food arrive - all fairly tasty, nothing to write home about. We ate, paid and left. We may try again on a less busy day but the whole experience seem to be organised chaos with a very load, bossy lady ordering everyone - staff, patrons and visiting 'friends' around at the top of her voice. Was not the relaxing brunch we had planned.

I was taken here for lunch today, the staff were very friendly and allowed you to personalise the menu if you wanted to, which is always a positive. The decor was nice and quirky (especially the room with loads of lampshades). I ordered a sausage roll and some salad, the sausage roll was deliclious (much better than greggs) but my salad wasnt very nice, it consisted of 5 things: coleslaw, lentils, red cabage in a starnge sauce, something with too much mayo on and normal salad which was drecnhed in balsamic vinegar, all of which i dont like. As i was still hungry i asked for a chicken and avacado sandwich which was £4.95, which is a bit steep compared to somewhere like tesco where it would be around £2.30, and when that came it was seriously over buttered, i couldnt taste any avocado or chicken as the butter was so overpowering. However on the plus side dogs are allowed in and the staff and the cafe itself are very nice and i am sure to come back for breakfast.

We went here expecting it to be lennie's Cafe but it has changed hands. The proprietor said he's thrown Lenny in the canal but he's actually bought a Launderette up the road! The pasty was probably the best pasty I've ever had - not just potato, but carrots, swede onion and real meat! At £4.75 eat in, it's not cheap, but what is these days? The salad was very varied, although £2 is a little steep! The mocha was more lie a cappuccino with chocolate sprinkles, and so i needed sugar, but it was really hot. We got brought not one but two glasses of water, which was good because the waitress [off which there are many] managed to knock the dog's water bowl over [and swiftly refilled it!]. You can take dogs inside, although it's nice to sit outside and watch the world go by.

We were struggling to find somewhere nice to eat and then discovered this lovely place. It's a welcoming place, the staff (maybe they were the owners?) were helpful and friendly, the food was really tasty and the coffee good. We sat outside in the sunshine and felt all the better for our lovely lunch.

Lovely relaxed surroundings, very friendly staff, great food. I started each day of my short visit to Bath here. I ordered something different every morning, full English, scrambled egg on toast, sausage sandwich, croissant and everything was perfect. Good ingredients, cooked well and a lot of homemade treats too. All the staff were lovely with welcoming smiles and helpful, efficient and pleasant. The tall, attractive, blonde lady could flirt for England (in the nicest possible way). Altogether a lovely way to start the day for me.

I love this deli, in fact it is my favourite place to lunch in Bath. Sometimes I just collect a takeaway if I am busy, the service is always excellent. Very reasonable prices which keeps me coming back for more. Congratulations to the owners of this lovely deli, you have just the perfect business strategy here, long may you continue. The quiches are the best in Bath - compliments to the chef. You have picked the nicest of staff too!

We came across this little gem when walking back into the city centre from Prior Park Gardens. The quirky floral decor and multitude of table lamps suspended from the ceiling are the perfect setting for the amazing, home made food. I had a balsamic tomato quiche with a delicious variety of homemade salads. The touch of mustard in the coleslaw was inspired. Although we didn't have dessert, the range of cakes and pies looked very tempting.

I visit Picnic Coffee every week for the delicious coffee and lemon drizzle cake. However, the staff just bring my order to the table and walk away without a word or a glance at me. Where are the staff other reviewers praise so highly?

Visited this cafe with my 2 children, we had a drink first the children done some colouring which they enjoyed, We then went into the soft play area cost £4 per child adult £1 , your in there for a hour, the children had a lovely time, my only complaint is they were not allowed to leave the soft play area for a drink as if they did they wouldn’t be allowed back in,

Vea mi reseña bajo el Desfile de Avon, que ha sido desde principios de este año, 2019. Nunca había visitado The Penny Lane, pero hace muchos años cuando se llamaba The Pride of Bath.
