Wickford Chinese Takeaway in Basildon

Nipped in as passing by for a walk in collection. Great service, only took 10 minutes and was tasty 😋 Not gloopy, big portions and free prawn crackers. Recommend for sure!

What has happened to this place ?????? Ordered tonight from here and told food would be an hour after an hour and 35 minutes I phoned to ask where the food was the phone was answered by a really young child laughing I rang back to be told we haven’t got your order. Order now and we will deliver with no apology. I said unacceptable and we have ordered many times before with no rudeness and the lady hung the phone up Many years of using them and no customer service so will now find somewhere else

First time ordered from Wickford Chinese and can honestly say it was the best Chinese takeaway we have had in a long time. Friendly member of staff took my order with no issues. Delivery was bang on time and the total order (was a big order for eight people)was all correct. Food was hot and was delicious. Would definitely recommend as we will be using Wickford Chinese as our default Chinese from now on.

Love them. very prompt with delivery and flexible with the menu if you have your own ideas. Could do a lot worse, promise.

It's just so busy and staff are worried about paying cash all the time not customer service

We use Wickford chinese most weeks and find the food tasty and really good value.

Ordered a meal and was told 45 minutes to a Hour wait, meal didn’t show after 1hr and 10 minutes, rang up and was told they hadn’t even started cooking and would need to wait another 30 mins. No explanation why or any compensation for a mistake they made. 100% won’t be going back there, fuming …………

Ordered a few containers of chicken fried rice. Went home to find the rice was not fried. And a smashed boiled egg. Really really disappointed. There is no point complaining because the Chinese (tall) guy doesn't care

I always order from here religiously, food is delicious, great service, always very quick on delivery, Also the owner kindly done me a favour once as I built a relationship with him so nothing to fault for these guys. The best thing on the menu are the king prawns in garlic butter, unreal. Prices are very cheap too.

Ordered food for £80 for family gathering, rice was boiled when ordered fried rice with no flavour, chow mein was flavourless, chicken was raw, ribs were fatty, only thing that was ok were the chips, absolutely disgusting. Avoid at all cost, ruined a family get together. 0001/10

This was the worst meal I've ever had, processed chicken, tastless curry, thin sauce. I've eaten better £1 curry's from Iceland

Just had a very lovely meal from here, all pipping hot, and tasty. staff are pleasent too.I would have given this place 5 stars but they are a little more expensive than some others, but worth it in my opinion, and the crispy seaweed although very nice maybe a bit too much sugar.

Lovely Chinese, but check u have correct food because I have got home without stuff or different to what I ordered.

Absolutely appalled by the rudeness and ignorance of the owner and staff! Didn't listen to word i said on the phone regarding what I wanted...got delivered the wrong thing and items forgotten and then when they turned up at my door was so rude In how he spoke to me and then banned me from the shop jus because I wanted what I originally ordered and he didn't wanna go bk again! The food aint even cooked properly either! Be aware ppl!

ATTENTION!!! Only use as a last resort if not at all.. Numerous problems... 1. initially was quoted 33 pounds for the order but when it was ready It was mysteriously 35 pounds.. 2. All food was cold and the fact it was ready in 6 minutes screams it must all be just sitting there ready to go. 3. Was missing two dishes, and no sweet and sour sauce with the chicken balls 4. The food is basic just to warn you...

We always get our takeaways from here. The smoked chicken goes down well with the children too we do go and pick the food up and it's very quick 👍👍

Really good menu. Can be a long wait but this is because of the quality of the food.

I phoned to complain about the chicken stating it didn't taste right plus also the chicken balls tasted like rubber. No offer of money back just said they now cut the chicken in cubes not slices that's why it's different was terrible stuck it in bin. We normally always order from here but no more.

If you're looking for a decent take away this is the place. BBQ ribs, meat falls off the bone, delivery is good. Prices fair.

Very poor.i rang up and asked if they deliver since I'm near to the area and they just hung up.

Do not give this take away your money, truly disgusting service. The manager had a straight up row with me and my partner when I explained that they had delivered my food not as I ordered with items I am allergic too. I was told I didn't order this plain and they refused to change or refund... Unbelievable service. Will never use them again.. And urge you to do the same

This is my favourite Chinese in wickford AND Billericay the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style is the best in Essex by far!!! Prices great for portion sizes and always end up ordering too much but still eat it all as it is too tasty :)

Goodish food but service isnt freindly, and if want a delivery and dnt meet the requirements thy want you to order more food rarther than pay the dividance. Not good....

Food is alright, but we can never find a menu, and there aren't any online. It stops us from ordering a fair bit, as it's easier to decide what to eat elsewhere
