Lovely food and service was great !

Had two meals from The Hungry Gandhi eaten in and a takeaway. On both occasions the food is the best I have had in Billericay by far. Keep it going

Awaiting delivery now 2 hours 5 minutes since ordered - phone not being answered at restaurant… rejected delivery after 2 hours 35 minutes from order .. poor …. UPDATE .. called restaurant who apologised for problems with delivery and offered eat-in / takeout for equal value - happy with this

Since the restaurant got new owners I believe that this is now the best Indian restaurant in Billericay. All the food is now delicious and full of flavour. My personal favourite is the Chicken Thakurgaon.

I have known the owner many years along side Ali who has retired from many establishments.He changed the decor and Aircon in a small but welcoming establishment have new attentive staff but maintained excellent quality and value of food and drink a vibrant place to visit!

This is a surprisingly hidden gem of Billericay you can find in Hollycourt. Not as busy as it should be but definitely worth a visit. We came on a Wednesday evening, not busy, for that reason everything we ate was freshly cooked and amazing. Definitely want to promote this restaurant. Give it a go

Got an Uber Eats delivery. Took a while to come but it was well worth the wait. Excellent food

Just eaten at Gandhi, have always enjoyed the food there and have been using them for takeaways and eating in since I moved to Billericay 11 years ago but OMG it was taken over by new management 6 weeks ago and it is now amazing! The portions were huge. We now have dinner for tomorrow too. The manager was very helpful and friendly and suggested menu options which were spot on. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

By far the best Indian in Essex. They have great service and the staff are very friendly. The quality of the food, the price and the service are unmatched. Highly recommend going!

Update. Thursday next, I called and Mr Hadi refunded straight away. Is this typical of their service/delivery/quality? TLDR - Don't order if you want a satisfactory meal on time and hot. If I had could have given zero stars that would be too much Telephone Ordered Sat 6:33pm with Mr Hadi. He advised 1 hour delivery I called again at Saturday 7:56pm (1 hour 20 mins elapsed) and was told by Mr Hadi's colleague that despatch had already been made (this turned out to be a lie) I called again at 8:14pm and Mr Hadi said the food was just being despatched and would be with us in 5 mins Delivery at 8:30pm. An hour longer than we were informed The food was cold and we had to throw away the naan as were limp and greasy We called for a partial refund at 8:32pm and Mr Hadi offered £10 off the next bill and stated he could not use his card service at that moment. We said that we would not be using his service again and that we wanted £10 credit now. He said he would do that. It is now the following Tuesday and there is no £10 credit on my account. I hope this stirs Mr Hadi's memory and he is gentlemanly enough to sort the situation out. Take this as a warning about the service from Ghandis

Gloomy place with taciturn service. I asked if salad and naan came with my dish but was told no. But they did. So I had ordered garlic naan and spinach unnecessarily. He suggested I order rice too but luckily I didn’t. Papadoms stale and tasteless. There was so much that I left two thirds of it. The lamb was over cooked and solid with a very unattractive sauce. The naan was dry and uneatable. And the waiter serving me dropped patches of red sauce on the white tablecloth without apologising. I left as soon as I could.

Genuinely one of the best Indian meals I've ever enjoyed, absolutely delicious and with Elton John's entire back catalogue in the background absolutely no complaints!

Nice little restaurant in Billericay, it's hidden but easy access via car park or high street. Food is authentic and priced very reasonably. I enjoyed their tadka daal, rice and tandoori chicken.

Exceptional food, service, price and again service!!! Mr Hadi, Sultan Barabar and the team provide impeccable food, paired with exceptional service and hospitality. I’ve eaten here for more than 20 years and it is, without doubt, the best Curry house in Billericay!

Entered the resteraunt at 7pm and there was only 2 other tables that had people on them. This is important to remember when considering we waited almost 20 minutes for drinks - my lemonade was from a bottle and flat - and for someone to take our order. It took 45 minutes for starters to reach the table and main course was slow to come out. This is a shame as the food was lovely; my beef was tender, thr sauce had flavour and the naan was delicious. Overall, this would be great for takeaway but we would not return to dine in.

Lamb was very chewy and light on the meat curry was padded out with potato and broccoli. Daal was uneven, watery in patches and oily with lumps of something in it. won't be ordering again

We had a lovely meal with friends, good food and drink at reasonable prices and very good choices on the menu. Well worth a visit.

Yep, best Bangladeshi food in Billericay. Not been anywhere else in years. Apart from Bengal Bertie's in Palmers Green.

I have ordered Lamb Korai and Garlic Naam to deliver. I've spent 2 years in India and can tell that the dish was AMAZING! Superb flavor and well presented . I will order again 100% ! Thank you!

Great food and service here. We were unfortunately placed in a tight corner even though there were plenty of free tables in the restaurant. We could have asked to move I suppose but it didn't occur to me till after!

We go there all the time (mostly for collection) but we have also been there in the restaurant a few times. Food quality is consistent and the menu is quite diverse with lesser known dishes beyond the traditional curries. Price is veeeery reasonable. Admittedly, the restaurant design & deco feels a bit outdated but the staff is friendly. Really love this quirky place, never been disappointed.

Outstanding service, I never write reviews but I certainly think this restaurant deserves one. Extremely friendly, great food and reasonable price! I haven't had a bad meal yet! Highly recommend.

Nothing posh here, quite a plain looking place, but the Indian food is fine and at reasonable prices. I've been eating on and off there for 30 years, so it can't be THAT bad. lol

Very friendly and attentive staff, very good food. Naan bread is especially good, crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the middle. Prices very reasonable. Top curryhouse in Billericay in our view.

Would have like to comment on the quality of the food but after nearly 2 hours waiting for any food we left. When we arrived they had forgotten about our booking and moved a family who had already started to eat some some popadoms, the same family left not long after with no food being served. When we finally complained the waiter just rolled his eyes at us as if we where a hinderance to him. This wasthe point we left, another family of 4 got up and left at the same time having also waited over an hour already. Very unfortunate as was informed the food here was good.
