Took over two hours to arrive when a delivery time of 30 minutes was originally quoted. When food finally arrived it was stone cold and had been ready for your driver to collect for about an hour and a half.

Food is great. Only issue is the Chips look grey and taste like old oil was used when frying them. As they taste a bit gritty and have what looks like burnt black bits on them.

Great food and hot which seems to be rare these days. Best Fish and Chips in the area.

We visited yesterday and got my son some chips. He noticed they had gluten free chips so his sister could have them too. So I ended up driving back after collecting her to get a rare treat of some gluten and dairy free chips which she was thrilled with. I tasted them too and they were so good (ended up eating more than I meant to but luckily was a generous portion). The staff were lovely going to the extra effort to check they were dairy as well as gluten free. They were very professional about it not like a lot of restaurants where people sigh and seem exhausted by answering a few questions about allergens. We would love to be able to get these on a weekend night, not just Monday and Tuesday, so please consider extending your gf days. Thanks so much.

The price of this places cod and chips is a joke. Chips undercooked and a large portion apparently consisted of about 20 chips of which stuck together into a large ball of potato disappointment. The large cod (defo not large) was bland mushy and greasy. Avoid if you’re hungry.

Have been sent the wrong food, tried calling restaurant numerous times with no answer

refused delivery as it took so long , resterant wernt very helpful rang them 4 time they wernt interested as was just eat driver, driver had no explanations as to why it was so late.

Had chips tonight 27/8/24 at 6:30pm. The chips were the worst I have ever had. Have been here a lot very surprised. They were so gross very hard. Obviously seem cooked again. Will not come back again.

Don’t order from this restaurant through just eat. We got someone else’s order instead of ours and when I called, she just said the other person has already complained take it up with just eat. No apologies nothing! Now waiting for a refund and eating beans on toast! Avoid unless you can physically collect. The receipt also has the other customers name and contact details on which is obviously a personal data breach.

Food lovely as always just a shame the dips were missing.

Portion size We ordered medium chips £3.39 and large chips £4.49, one portion of each. They arrived in 2 small rectangular boxes, a similar fairly small amount in each costing us a total of £7.87. From other vendor's this would usually be enough for my partner and our two small children but regrettably I had to go out and buy more as there were no where near enough to go round. A local competitor gave me twice the amount for 48pence less. In fairness they were delicious from both places. Come on Churchills stop being stingy, give decent portions, large should mean large! Get rid of the tiny boxes! Nearly £8 for a couple of potatoes, the competition fill the bags to bursting. You can do the same. Sorry, just saying it as it was tonight. Disappointing.

I love the gluten free options on a Monday and Tuesday. It’s always so fresh and tasty. Tonight’s was exceptional. The fish was so delicious and the batter and chips were hot, fresh and perfect. Loved it.

I contacted at maximum delivery time it came about 15mins after the food was quite cold I had to microwaving it .

My pie was hard and warm and the chips were soggy and cold not really edible at all and not the the first time either. Poor choice.

Portion size was very small for a chip shop, only used due to our normal one being closed

May as well have been a goldfish 🐠 sooooo small but not a small price. Also note the feedback to the negative reviews is a straight forward, bog standard cut and paste apology... thats more consistent than the quality of service and portion sizes though!

Just ordered and picked up some chips from your shop absolutely awful ! Cold overdone and obviously the dregs of the previous batch didn't even serve to our dogs will go to George's in future

The food was over an hour and a half late and it was cold. We spoke to both the driver and the manager at the shop and no one cared or did anything to make up for it. Very disappointing and there was no reason/explanation for why the food was so late.

When it finally arrived, food was warm not hot. Southern Fried chicken, although plentiful, was way over cooked so was very dry and too crispy to cut. Portion of chips lower than other places. Won't be ordering here again.

Food tasted great.. awesome curry sauce. Was a little shocked by the chip portion as normally a regular would spread across 3 but didn’t (not an issue just something to be mindful of next time)

We were told we couldn't sit at a table because they were cleaning them, and they clearly couldn't be bothered to clean one table again we would of eaten out of a box and even cleaned up after ourselves but they still refused to let us dine in we couldn't sit outside because it was raining, Their attitude stinks so we left and won't ever be coming back

1st of all the large chips which I paid £4 for wouldn’t even feed a child let alone an adult or two. 2nd of all the chips was hard, and really dry like they had been reheated again and again from the day before. Also ordered a savaloy and that was just foul it was like eating rubber. The whole meal ended up in the bin. So appalled and will never use this place again

Large cod cooked especially for my parents to share. They loved it. Friendly, smiley staff. Sometimes we order via Deliveroo and it arrives hot and delicious.

The food tasted good but: medium and large chips were exactly the same size. Ordered mayo for the squid and that was not in the order either.

Food was nice but didn’t receive the full order. Advised by supplier that the courier didn’t wait for all the items. Not very happy as it was a child’s meal that was missing.

No problem with Churchill's. The food was very good. However, our food took 2 hours 15 minutes due to waiting for a driver to be assigned. No fault of the restaurant presumably.

Ordered two hours ago and still no delivery it’s said it’s been delivered and I have no food!

Food was ok but cold due to the following: - Order was placed at 09:17 for a 17:15 delivery. - Order was accepted at 15:45 & scheduled delivery was 17:09. - I phoned the restaurant at 17:31 & was advised food was ready but due to there not being a Just Eat driver available he didn’t know when the food would delivered. As always blame someone else !! - Food was delivered at 18:31 & driver said issue was GPS. 1 hr 16 mins late from Billericay High St, how can that be a GPS issue ? This was a Wednesday evening, so there is no excuse & is not acceptable.

Awful. Food was late and cold. A dish was missing and when I called the chippy they just blamed Just Eat. £50+ down for a cold late dinner. Will not be buying from here again. The Codfather in South Green is miles better.

Amazing fish and chips and very nice friendly staff! I had a medium cod because they didn't have any large already cooked. They did offer to cook me one, but the medium was plenty big enough for me and cooked perfectly! Very nice crispy batter! Chips & sausage in batter were also great! Thanks team, will definitely be back!

We ordered from here for the 1st time recently using Deliveroo. I had a large Haddock and chips my daughter had a chicken burger and chips. Food arrived quickly. It tasted great and freshly cooked. I often leave at least half the batter from fish but I ate every bit of my haddock it was delicious. The food is delivered in a cardboard box which was quite big and the haddock just about fitted in it along with a generous portion of chips. My daughter had a large chips which came in the box and it was a full box her chicken burger was served how she had asked. All in all the best fish and chips I've had in ages, no complaints about anything, we will be returning again in the near future. If we visit Billericay then it's very likely we will visit as well. Unfortunately, items missing. I ordered 4 portions of mozzarella sticks but only received one.

Came in for medium cod and medium haddock in store restaurant and it was brilliant service and the manager and team where really lovely and food was perfect.
