I have been to this chain in New York several times and I liked it a lot, my friend and I wanted to change lunch and not always eat the same things and we went there and I must say, the variety of cooked foods put a strain on my decision, hot and cold foods, fresh fruit and sweets and for those who wanted trays already ready in the fridge, I must say excellent, happy with our choice.

First and last time I'm getting hot food from here. I got the Peruvian chicken and mac and cheese and less than two hours after eating it I had an upset stomach and am still suffering today. It was the only thing I'd eaten that day apart from my usual breakfast hours ago. This was about 3pm so not sure how long the food was sitting there for but I really shouldn't have risked it, as nothing is covered. Customer service also leaves a lot to be desired, I didn't get a receipt and there's a cheaper price if you take away the food but I'm not sure what price I was charged as like I said before no receipt was given.

Increasingly greasy, highly oiled offerings. Cooked to death, then heated, so you have sludge veg at 190cal and 30g fat per serving. Oiley soup. No longer a place to visit daily but now seen has treat food because of the oil (mostly always sunflower or rapeseed) saturation

The selection of both eat in and grocery items is fantastic. The store downstairs feels really clean and well cared for. Then you go upstairs…. There is a good number of tables that you can eat items bought in store but the last few times I’ve visited, it’s been more used as a picnic area for people bringing things from other places which makes it really tricky to eat if you have bought things from downstairs specially to eat in and there is no tables. The toilets need a special mention for being the worse ones I’ve ever used. I appreciate that they are free and in literally the busiest part of the city centre but they are like a horror show.

Often, the food is heavy in oil, so quite soggy to the point of becoming mush. Prefer if the caukiflower, etc, is done like the courgettes, grilled/ roasted sans sunflower oil. Otherwise good selection of low glycemic vegetables, cruciferous, mushrooms various ways. Prefer to be cooked more cleanly and just have oil in the salad bar for those who wish to use. They put the sample tasters in the vacuum that connects the shop floor to the check outs, so it forms a blockage. Perhaps locate them in the sparsely populated cheese and wine circular area. Good range of products in each category, including supplements. Inside seating limited.

Good selection of slices of pizzas, cooked meats, vegetables, pastas and salads from the self serve bars. Food sold by weight so be carefully when filling your box. Fast and convenient options as well as shop based packaged offerings. Worth a try if you do not want a formal sit down or unhealthy fast foods. Easy access for buggies and wheel chairs. I made a purchase of the goods from the store at Piccadilly Circus at about 7:55pm on 19 Oct 2024. At the cashier, I tried to pay the 118.31 with my credit card but the system showed no receipt of the money that the staff came and helped. He said the money would be refunded to my bank if it had not been received by the Whole Foods Market. Then, I tried another attempt with my credit card after rescanning the same items from the basket by your shopkeeper (shown in the attached photo). This time the my credit card paid $115.2 and confirmed receipt by your payment system. After coming back Hong Kong, I find the refund has not be sent from the company after checkiing my bank statement. I have written an email to its customer.questions@wholefood.com on 6th January 2025 but the answer dated 7 January from its Customer Care named Marcos was unhelpful at all. I don’t know how to contact him as I am not in UK now. Would anyone help advise how to contact the store at Piccadilly Circus, please?

Discriminatory against vegans: I got the vegan burrito which includes 4 toppings as do the meat ones. However sour cream and cheese obvs not vegan and they don’t have vegan cheese alternatives. The price is 20p less than the meat one despite not having the same choice. And if I want a ‘creamy’ guacamole added I have to pay extra for the pleasure. It should be included for vegans as there is no vegan cheese. Disappointing from a retailer that ought to be renowned for sustainable eating choices. Will go elsewhere for my Mexican fix

I love shopping in Whole Foods and always spend a decent amount of money there for my groceries. I have never bought their self picked hot food before so I decided to try some today and regretted. Their hot food is ridiculously expensive. I took 2 pieces of skinny chicken, a small portion of broccoli, some sweet potatoes, some gravy of the beef goulash without taking the meat, some mixed vegetables. I did not take a lot of each and there is space left inside my box for more if i want. My box cost me £17.71 and it isn't heavy! I am happy to pay for good food but for this portion and quality, the price is ridiculous! Now I'm heading off to buy more food elsewhere because it's not enough for my dinner. Grumpy and hungry.....

I had an unsettling experience at Whole Foods in Soho today, which I feel compelled to share. As a Black man, unfortunately, I’m not unfamiliar with being treated differently in public spaces, but this experience was particularly disappointing. I entered the store with my partner, and we eventually separated to shop individually. Almost immediately, I noticed a security guard begin to follow me. Every time I stopped, he would stop close by, making it clear that I was under his watchful eye. When my partner approached me, the security guard greeted him with a “hi,” which I found strange, as no such greeting was extended to me. We continued shopping, and once again, after my partner and I separated, the security guard resumed his proximity to me. His demeanour was anything but friendly, and I felt like I was being treated as a suspect simply for being in the store. No one should feel humiliated or unwelcome while simply shopping, regardless of their background or appearance. As someone who has dedicated years to academia, holding a Master’s degree, a PhD, and having completed three postdoctoral research positions, now serving as a Senior Lecturer at one of the leading higher education institutions in the UK, it is incredibly disheartening that places like this still treat their clients based on racist stereotypes. A new addition to my “never-to-return” places. It’s a shame that in this day and age, a supermarket like Whole Foods would allow such behaviour to persist. Shame.
