Whitworth Chinese Takeaway in Rochdale

Usually enjoyed good service and food from here but tonight I ordered at 7 pm was told they was busy and it be 90 minute. I rang back at 9pm they said 10 minutes I rang back at 9.20PM to be told another 10 minute at this stage I cancelled my order

We ordered vegetarian dishes as we are vegans and they gave us meats dishes and we ate spring rolls thinking they were vegetarian rolls but in fact, had meat in them. My partner was seriously ill from this and they also issued no refund. Never order from this takeaway as they have zero respect and consideration for peoples dietary requirements. I am utterly disgusted with the service at this place and can confirm I will never order here again. Avoid at all costs.

Just ordered chicken fried rice and curry and a meat pie was nice and warm and tasty I will be ordering again

we have been using this Chinese for 5 years and never once had a bad meal, food is always fresh, hot and tasty and we love the owners so much, so friendly :D

Was not happy with the food went to the wrong address took atleast 2 hours to come get he only decent thing was that the food did come warm not the first time this has happend was not satisfied lack of communication two

Blandest food on this earth, delivery stank of cigarettes as the driver was smoking in the car. Food has no taste at all. Poor poor quality.

OK popped in for pie and chips will go back for a proper Chinese meal

Been using Whitworth Chinese for years and have always enjoyed every meal and the food is always piping hot on delivery.

I am a regular customer. Disgusted. I was treated appalling. We waited 3 hours and rang 4 times. Every time we rang the food was on its way. The kids were STARVING I cancelled after 3 hours and the second I said I want to cancel they just cut the phone off. DO NOT BUY FRON THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Finally somewhere local that knows what vegan is and caters for them.

Waited 3 hours and stuff missing. Spent £50 and was given a bag of prawn crackers free lol. Plus the smallest portions you've ever seen and no flavor atall.

The best Chinese food around. No need to go anywhere else....

So telephoned and provided an order was told that it would be at least 90 minutes for delivery A phone call was received from the takeaway exactly 90 minutes later telling me it would be at least another 90 minutes Total waste of time, spoiled our evening Do not use such a poor shoddy customer service Disgraceful

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken balls with egg fried rice and my partner had the salt and pepper box. None of us are happy with our food. Both came lukewarm, rice was very chewy like it was old or overcooked. In the salt and pepper box everything was hard and dry like it was yesterday's. Would not reccomend.

Awful taste, textures and looks. No option for minus stars but this meal was worse than abysmal. Set meal for 2 with the beef curry and sweet and sour chicken option with special fried rice and extra dumplings. Free prawn crackers. Chicken and sweetcorn soup. Xtra thick (imagine too much cornflour) and bland with a couple of pieces of sweetcorn. Prawn toast made with warbies xtra thick. 2 ribs, Rolls, samosas, something fried with no filling and seaweed. All cooked in old fat with the same tainted flavour. The dumplings were sticky with no flavour apart from the same taint common to all the dishes. Dipping sauce fluorescent red with no taste. Sweet and Sour chicken. Fluorescent red with a couple of chunks of pineapple core and a piece of red pepper. The chicken was ok with a sticky batter but something hard like gristle in a few of the pieces. The beef curry was tasteless. The strips of boiled beef and raw onions swimming in a thin watery brown sauce. Really wish we hadn't bothered. Hard to see how food bought premade could be this bad.

The food is always really nice from here. You always get plenty. This is the only chinese I use.

Absolutely disgusting!!!! I have never seen frozen chips in a chippy. I had beef fried rice and found 6 hairs in it. My husband had special fried and it stunk like bad eggs. The spare ribs were freezing. All of it went in the bin. I will never go there again. I only gave it a star because I had to!!!!!!!

Called in on Saturday night for a Chow Mein and Chicken & sweetcorn soup, the prices on the board came to £8.60 so i gave the female assistant the exact money only for her to charge me £8.90 ??? When I queried the price she informed me the board was out of date and the correct price was in the new leaflets... Not haveing the extra finance, i cancelled the chow mein and just ordered the soup where i was greeted with "Is that It" ???? I promptly told her to keep the it and walked out 15 years I have been using this chinese but never again !!!

Food is good but the price point is a little off. Expensive for what it is - but consistent.

It's a very bland food place and was cold. They were more interested in closing and going home. Won't be using again

Really nice Chinese Take Away... although their signature dishes are pretty great, I think the chips need a little work, my suspicions are that they could be frozen chips but dont quote me on that!!

I ordered Chinese at 7:50 I didnt receive my order until 10pm! When it arrived the delievery driver was rude and then the order was wrong! When ringing on 6 seperate occasions I was lied to and told The driver was slow. Ridiculous service

Has been taken over by new owners, food takes forever to come and the girl who answers the phone is rude to say the least. Food is no better, just eat gave us credit for the poor customer service we had after nearly two hours no food had come. Like I said avoid and there are plenty of other much nicer Chinese take outs

We used to order regularly but when it was taken over by new people the food was not good. We did however, after a few weeks of not ordering decide to order tonight. Never again! We ordered a straw mushroom dish but it had been made with English mushrooms. Hubby said he enjoyed it though. We also ordered soft noodles which were really salty and salt and pepper chicken wings. Whilst they should be salty they were over salty. The prawn toast had a funny taste and was like cardboard. We ordered for delivery at 19:15 but it arrived at 18:30. I don't mind 10 minutes early but not 45 minutes. Had we not paid by card I would have refused the delivery. I telephoned to complain but I don't think they understood that 45 minutes early and the wrong order was not too acceptable. They did offer to refund for the mushroom dish but I said all we wanted was the order being delivered at the right time and the right dishes delivered. We won't be ordering again. It's a shame because they used to be so good.

The delivery was really 5 really late, nearly an hour and when i called, the person wasnt even sure where it was at first then said hadnt even been cook. I understand that places get busy but a quick call to say its going to be late, but they cheekily put on here that it had been delivered on time.

Food was tasty and arrived hot. Price was very reasonable also. Delivery was 30 minutes late and not even a grunt of an apology when he dropped off the yummies. I did phone the takeaway though and the chap on the phone was very polite and apologetic.

Usually good. Food was good but didn't get what I ordered and sometimes they forget to deliver a item. Shame because the food is lovely.

Not even a bag free prawn crackers with a £25 spend. Ordered half a duck( some reason it wasn't on the bone and was no way half a duck) duck was dry and no spring onion. Wouldn't go back I'm afraid.

Best Chinese in Rochdale. I have traveled many miles and had plenty of poor Chinese food but this took me a long time to find but well worth the wait.
