Its great to come here and eat out. I had the goats cheese starter and the sticky honey chilli chicken for my main course. It comes with rice and a couple of small pieces of naan bread, but they still threw in a side order of chips. The dish is 11 pounds, which seems like very good value. Two of us had starters and main courses for 31 pounds. The view across the valley is like no other; this time it was being swept with fog, and a V-shaped flight of geese went by. Big, free car park just outside. The staff were very attentive. The menu at the moment has a very impressive sheet full of choices.

was at this great place last Sunday with my wife adult children and Sisters family we eat out a lot but nothing is even near the excellent food and service we get here good value for money and lovely staff we shall return

Visited for dinner with friends. No airs and graces as one may have found in golf clubs in times gone by. Non members made most welcome. Staff very good and friendly. Dealt mainly with Rachel, who was top class. Bar staff also very friendly and efficient. Food very good. All in all, very enjoyable visit.

Visited here on Friday with hubby and father and had a beautiful meal. Food great as always. I had the Salmon and fishcake with chorizo cream sauce - very nice!!! Wheelchair friendly which was also a bonus. Rachel and all other members of staff welcoming as always. Can’t wait to go back on next visit to Ireland.

My husband and I had a beautiful meal in the Whitehead Golf club restaurant today. We both had the carvery, it didn’t disappoint. Staff were welcoming and personable even though they were very busy. Food was excellent, beef melted in your mouth and the turkey was moist, could not fault our meal in any way. Price was very reasonable. There was a great atmosphere. We hadn’t been in quite a while but we can’t wait to go back and definitely will not leave it as long until our next visit. 100% recommend.

I didn't know they had a Wednesday and Thursday menu running from 12pm to 7.30pm. One course is £7, two is £10, three for £13. We visited on a Thursday evening at 6pm. Two of us ate identical meals. From five choices of mains we had the sweet and sour chicken. You get a great bowl of battered chicken strips with the sauce that has onions and yellow and red peppers. Choice of side order with that, I wanted the boiled rice. I loved it; it was a great meal.Dessert choice: pavlova. Very nice. Service was excellent, we had a lot of questions about menus for other days, and Mothers' Day. Astonishing view. They let me out onto the balcony to see it. The vista takes in Belfast Lough, with Scrabo Tower away in County Down, all the way to Larne Lough and the hills beyond. All that, and we got to watch the Sun set, and Venus light up in the evening sky. Huge free car park at the door. Full bar, if you want a drink.

Always nice to come back to this beautifully situated club house restaurant, open to the public. Staff are polite and welcoming and the food is excellent, full points on all counts. Those looking to find faults will be disappointed. Many thanks to the whole crew, well managed, well done!

There were 34 ladies attending the party. Alan and his staff were fantastic. The restaurant is usually closed on Tuesday but opened specially for us. Food was served quickly and was very hot. Waitresses were very efficient and nothing was too much trouble. We had choices of Daube of beef, Stuffed chichen and Darne of salmon followed by pavlova, sticky toffee pudding and fresh fruit salad and tea/coffee. Very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Very easy to work with as well, setting up tables etc.

Called in tonight at 6.30 to have a meal (not booked) which we were looking forward to!! To our dismay the front door was locked and we couldnt get in. No buzzer to alert anybody we were there. I feel its a very poor way of running a restaurant when your customers can't even get in!!

I have been three times for Christmas dinner at the whitehead golf restaurant this December ,and I must say I enjoyed every one of them ,staff were very helpful and pleasant to talk to ,the dinners were great very tasty and plenty to choose from, really great place for xmas dinner and any other kind of meals ,well worth a visit ,happy new year to all the staff .Sadie r

Stunning views over the hills and Belfast Lough. AP catering do a lovely menu. Along with friendly service staff the Armstrong room is a nice place for any dining occasion. Excellent golf club.

This is our place to go as a family. Lovely food and great service. It never disappoints. Stunning views over the lovely Whitehead.

We just had a beautiful meal here today. I couldn’t recommend the carvary highly enough. great Variety of roasted meats and a large selection of perfecty cooked vegetables. Gravy was delicious too! I finished it off with rolo cheesecake The service is outstanding staff are all super friendly and attentive. this is hard to beat !!! Thanks very much

A splendid evening meal complimented by a stunning view. However a distressing experience for my mother in law spoiled the occasion.On using the toilet she was confronted by an awful site.Not a clean facility may I say.

I was at golf club with my friends recently and carvery was excellent as was the pavlova, which I always have. Also had lunch during the week and my burger was the best ever.

Went for Sunday carvery, v disappointed, heard good reports-not my experience. service poor, totally unorganised, def won’t be back!

I went to the god cub for lunch twice in a week and we were all happy both times. The first thing we noticed on arriving was the views. We were lucky on both days that the sun was out and the views were stunning. The var was very nice to have a drink before dinner and I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were. It would be perfect for a party. The food I had was delicious and I would highly recommend the gold club for lunch and dinner. There were eight of us on the first occasion and everyone was satisfied with their meals. I do not live in Northern Ireland but I will be returning on each visit as it is convenient for lunch and I know now that I will be happy witch what ever I get.

Call here very regularly on a Sunday, the carvery is the best for miles. Great value for money and the staff are always very welcoming and friendly.

Ate here as a family. Two children in tow were made welcome. Ordered a steak done rare and it was cooked perfectly. The staff had no problem splitting an adult fish and chips between our two children. Best coffee I had in the whole town! My wife had the hake special which she loved.

We have eaten many times at golf club and the food is excellent. The carvery is great value and such a great choice of different meats. All very tender and good choice of veg. The desserts are wonderful. Too good actually. Have had lunch and evening meals also and never been disappointed. The staff are really friendly and nothing is to much trouble. We intend to go back as often as possible. Well done!

Sunday lunch at Whitehead golf club carvery is simply the best better than all the rest so helpful nothing a bother and great value for money lots to pick from if carvery is not for you my self and linda will be returning very soon

I chose something from their their special list for the night: pan-fried makhani monkfish with potato cakes & roasted cauliflower. Monkfish is rarely seen on menus, so as soon as the server mentioned it my mind was made up. I enjoyed the meal very much. I had a very generously tall cheesecake for dessert. Fantastic views from the dining area, with a balcony outside if you wish to take some air.

I would highly recommend this club for their carvary. Delicious food, friendly staff and delightful surroundings. The view of fields etc from the windows is breathtaking. Personally I had a wonderful experience.

40 ladies attended Whitehead Golf Club for dinner on Tuesday night. Food was delicious, hot and served very quickly. Alan and Pauline did a great job. Waitresses were terrific. Very reasonably priced. A big thank you yo all.

Had a Christmas dinner here with a group of good friends. Before our meal we gathered to wait in another bar at the back of the building, one I had not seen before. Nice place to wait. The do very generous portions here, so the prawn cocktail was a tower of good stuff. The main course had loads of turkey and stuffing, dishes full of vegetables and boats full of gravy. I put my hand into the photo of my dessert to prove how tall it was. So you will not go hungry here. The food itself was very good. The service was very attentive, in spite of our numbers, and the numbers at other tables. Add an extraordinary view, and this is a great place to dine. Loads of free parking outside.

I was here for and end-of-season Christmas dinner with my friends from the art club. For my starter I chose the melon, my main was hake, and for dessert the cheese board. It was all very nice, up to the standard we always get up at the golf club. It was a very enjoyable couple of hours of good conversation with like-minded people. The service was very attentive. They have a big, free car park just outside, and the views from their long bank of windows are unbeatable.

Husband nd I enjoy eating out and do so at least once a week, though we’ve never really tried the golf club restaurants. Clearly a mistake! I had to pick up tickets so thought we would have n early evening meal there, immediately bumping into neighbours who have only lived here a year and already know the restaurant is good value for money, serves excellent food in generous portions and in their case child friendly.

Visited Islandmagee and could not find anywhere for drinks or lunch. Saw the Golf Club on the map which we obtained from The Gobbins visitor centre and stopped by on the off chance. So pleased that we did. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location of the golf club is amazing, stunning views from car park, lounge and dining room. The premises are warm, clean and the the food excellent. It was fresh, tasty with huge portions and the best fish & chips, such light batter. Great value for money. Thoroughly recommend

Arrived with a party of eleven on a Sat evening at about 5.45 pm and we were quickly seated by the attentive staff. There was a very extensive menu with most starters at £5 and main course at £10 although there were dearer items on the menu. Food was served quickly even though there were only two of us who had the same main course and a number of us who had starters as well. There is a very tempting sweet menu that we took advantage of. Was surprised at how good the menu was for a golf club - need to broaden my views. Pity not that bit nearer my home location. There is also a new Wed/Thurs 12-7.30 pm menu with 1 course £7, 2 courses £10 and 3 courses for £13. Great value!! Would call here again for a meal if I was in the area.

Snuck in for dinner on a Sunday night. Great carvery and friendly atmosphere. Took the kids 🧒 - they were well catered for. Beautiful outlook over the glens of Antrim.

First time in years from my wife and I have eaten at the golf club the Sunday lunch was fantastic the meats just melted in your mouth the restaurant was full to bursting we can see why can't wait till we return great atmosphere round the whole club also the price of drinks made it 5 star with 2 star prices

I know someone who asks for tomato juice to drink, in restaurants. Many places say they have none, and we call it the “tomato juice test.” Whitehead Golf Club passed with flying colours. They had it, plus lots of other drinks at their bar. Very large and comfortable waiting lounge, see photo. Great view. Lots of parking spaces.

Incredible find. The food and staff are wonderful. Had lunch then made a dinner date plan for a Friday evening. Food was wonderful. They made a vegetarian meal on request which was 5 star. Would rival any 5 star restaurant for quality and taste...Very impressed all round and will be back...

We had great Sunday lunch. We chose the carvery of three meat choice. 2 course was plenty and great value. The view was a bit misty but I could see the views would be spectacular.

I liked their midweek offer, running Wednesdays and Thursdays: £13 for three courses. If you just have a main meal it is £7, a dessert £3, or each starter is £3. There's a good selection of things to choose from; I really enjoyed the scampi for my main meal, with chips and a side salad, plus mushy peas. A friend with me had a Caesar salad, and told them she'd never had one as good in her life - see photo. I had the lemon meringue pie for dessert, and a cappuccino. The service here is always tip-top. They have a full bar, I had half a pint of roundstone.

Originally we had planned to go to the bentra grill but we were turned away as they had a birthday party in, not a big crowd but turned us away and there was only four of us, didn't know about Whitehead Golf Club until that night, bentra has lost our custom we will be going to Whitehead Golf Club from now on. Staff were all friendly and great service, food amazing and great choice and value for money, would highly recommend, and will definitely be back. Many thanks for a lovely meal, faultless in every way.

I was here for the carvery, which is a Sunday offering, and you seem to need to call to book places. I had the goats’ cheese bon bons with beetroot puree & a plum jam starter. Excellent. They offered four kinds of meat: gammon, turkey, beef and lamb. I had slices of three of those; two is suggested on the menu. There was also mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, vegetable mixtures, horseradish sauce, cranberry sauce, and lots more. I had a royal feast, and did not need to eat another meal for the rest of that day. One of us had to put much of their dessert into a to-go box. Attentive staff: having overheard that two of us were celebrating nearby dates of birthdays, they planted candles in our desserts. Points for the skills needed to get a candle into my apple crumble! There’s a bar, if you’re drinking alcohol. Non-members are very welcome to the restaurant. Big dining area. I found their seats very comfortable. Fabulous views across the valley from a huge bank of windows. There’s a balcony all the way along if you wish for an outside view, and it is big enough to have picnic tables for outside dining. Big, free car park just outside, with a few spaces earmarked for club committee members only.

i was at this restaurant for a meal with the Windsor resident's ,it was a thank you meal to the kids who helped to plant lots of flowers for to give to oap's in the Windsor area,also some oap's were their as well, we had a lovely meal and the palova was just lovely ,staff were very helpful in every way ,looking forward to going back again in the near future ,well worth a visit ,.Sadie r.

Arrived in bar given menu invited into restaurant said we would like to sit in bar to browse menu what seats there were were kept by coats!!! Went into restaurant only table available was at door into bar we were served at once my husband decided off the menu I decided on carvery his meal was served then I was told to go to carvery,food was good and well cooked everything but the meat selection was hot I had roast beef and a small slice of turkey definitely not hot enough can't understand that as it can cause bacteria hope not ,the flavour was really good,we were both feeling really cold to be told someone had forgotten to order oil On one of the coldest weeks ever All in all disappointment wouldn't cover it the restaurant was like a canteen tables in lines awful needs a bit of imagination,the club has been there a long time needs a lot of updating waken up members time for change

First time we'd been in the Golf Club. We went to a 'Steak night' although the full menu was available. All the food was excellent, especially the steaks. All were cooked perfectly. Just two things to improve on... the Lounge and the dining area were freezing a little heating would have made the occasion even more enjoyable. The other thing the waiting staff were all pleasant and quick at taking our order and bring the food but after the desert was served no one came near our table to ask if we would like coffee. They were all to busy cleaning tables for the next day. Would definitely go again, perhaps for lunch, to take in the views from the lounge.

Should you and your organisation wish to have a celebratory meal or just a night out with friends or colleagues I would suggest going here. The food is of a high standard. The prawn cocktail looked excellent , on a very cold evening the soup was very welcoming. The salmon was a well cooked and served with a lovely sauce. People who had the beef thought it was very tender, the only complaint, from some, was that there was too much of it. Chicken was also served.

Precioso lugar tranquilo para tomar una copa y disfrutar del paisaje - el personal era encantador y aunque no somos miembros aunque nos sentimos muy bienvenidos.

Nos alojamos en el faro y este era Blackhead sólo un par de minutos para nosotros. Llamamos a preguntar sobre la reserva el sábado y nos dieron una cálida bienvenida. Llegamos a la comida del domingo para la rotisería - fue excelente y también hay un menú con una amplia variedad de opciones de pasta, pescado, hamburguesas y similares. La lista de vinos es corta pero a un precio razonable y la casa blanca era precioso. El Carvery se sirve sobre la base de un supuesto mucho para, por dos, por tres, así que puedes tú mismo ritmo y dada la calidad, el precio es más que razonable. Entrantes, bebidas y postres a su mesa, cola para el asador.

We recently had a 21st Birthday party for our daughter at the Golf Club. The original plan was for immediate family, but the chefs (Alan and Pauline) suggested a finger buffet – which meant that, keeping to our budget, we could extend the invite to wider family and friends. What an afternoon we had! A Prosecco reception in the bar, following by a delicious lunch in the dining room and then back into the bar for tea/coffee & cake. The food was scrumptious - best vol-au-vents ever was quoted to me by a few friends. Delicious Vegetarian & Gluten free food was served up too for our guests. All of our friends and family, both young and old had a fabulous time.I commend Pauline, Alan, Billy, bar and restaurant staff for their attention to detail and great service - nothing was too much trouble. I can’t recommend this venue strongly enough. It was a very special day for our family, thanks to all the staff. K

Big, free car park. They score 5 out of 5 for hygiene. Great waiting area, with a spectacular view across the town, out to Belfast Lough, and across to Larne Lough. You can read the large menu, and there’s a bar there, for a drink while you wait. Couches and comfy chairs. I chose the “big pork chop served with colcannon mash & an apple cider jus”. It was a meal I could not finish. It was great, there was just more than I could get through. I should have believed them when they named the dish "big pork chop"! The staff were excellent, and even sang to me. It was a birthday celebration, you see.

Dine here most Saturday nights and the food is always well presented, cooked to perfection and plentiful! The menu has grt variety and the specials is good value for money. The staff always very welcoming especially the lovely cheery Rachel who is an asset to this restaurant.

The restaurant was packed and I think that it's a great sign if your food is still cooked to perfection and the service still excellent & this was definitely the case here. The portion of prawns for the prawn cocktail was enormous and Brie starter all delicious. However the steak was simply divine and knocks into touch so called steak specialist restaurants. There's a great choice of sides and their peppercorn sauce is delicious.Finally for pudding - pavlova!!! Yummy.

Called in here in the middle of a long walk around the coast. We were immediately made to feel welcome and although we had quite a long wait for our lunch it was well worth it. The food was beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. As with most golf clubs the value was superb. Highly recommended.

It's a golf club - so not the prettiest of buildings and definitely feels very 'clubbish' but the food is good and non-members are welcome. Walking distance from the Lighthouse.

I went here for the Sunday carvery. I had a starter of filo prawns, it was lovely. My main course was lamb and ham. The carvery is exceptionally good for having lamb in it, some places don't offer lamb, it is too expensive. There was also turkey and beef, and plenty of condiments and vegetables. It was so lovely. The Captain of the club came to our table to say "hello". The three course meal was only £16.95.

Went down last night for a meal and was very pleasantly surprised.On the "Specials" board was Beef Stroganoff which is something I have never been a fan of. My Wife went for this and Eventually I decided on the same. What a revelation !.I loved it but did have to add Chilli Sauce to it it but that's just me. I'm a very picky eater and about the only thing I don't add Chilli to is Porridge or Trifle.Game on Alan . . . . . keep it on the Menu.

Was part of a party of ten booked for dinner on Saturday 17th. Pleasant lounge area with excellent views. Efficient and friendly bar staff. Menus brought and order taken promptly. Good range of dishes on offer. Food served promptly after about 10 minutes. All orders were served at the same time. Excellent. Very tasty food well cooked and excellent value for money.No problems at all.

Called to whitehead golf club for lunch 2 adults and 1 child , we arrived around 12 for lunch so quite early the place was empty at that time probably due to the time .On arrival we were seated really quick by a lovely friendly waitress our drinks order was taken and arrived very quick there was lots to choose from on the lunch menu and also a very good children's menu , our food arrived very quick and was very good I had ordered the chicken on Mash with a mushroom sauce although there was sauce on the meal when it arrived they still brought extra sauce which was a lovely touch .To sum it up the food is very good , the portions are large , the food is served really hot which I like , the whole dining experience was made really enjoyable due to the excellent staff on duty a male and female , they were so friendly and helpful and were excellent with my 4 year old granddaughter nothing seemed to much trouble for them fantastic customer service will Definately be back .also excellent value for money .

Saturday evening at the golf club ,very chilled and welcoming . The sesame chicken with noodles is cookoo good. Staff very friendly and Attentive. There is alovely terraced area to admire the view and enjoy a drink . Ideal place for quiet get together or family outing

Alan, Pauline and their staff provided the catering for an anniversary party we were holding in the golf club. They laid on a buffet of the highest quality for up to 90 guests. All the food was freshly prepared and of the highest quality. The feedback from those in attendance was all extremely positive. Alan and Pauline could not have done enough to facilitate our requirements both in terms of the menu and the layout and use of the premises. I could not recommend it highly enough both in terms of quality and value for money.
