Very good service . Waitresses were attentive, friendly, and professional. The food was of a high standard. Quality produce, well presented and very well cooked. Myself and wife enjoyed all our 3 courses. It was not cheap but I felt it was value for money as I thought the whole experience was very good . Will return on another special occasion.

We booked into White Truffle on a whim; we were fed up of queuing on the M5 and decided to have some lunch. TA placed the White Truffle as the no.1 restaurant in Nailsea and so we decided to give it a go. The first thing to say is that despite the fact it was a last minute booking and the restaurant had almost finished lunch, they were more than happy to serve us. Plenty of places would have said 'no'. We received a warm welcome and loved the interior décor (we remember it from many years ago as a Chinese restaurant). Service was extremely friendly and then we got to the food... ...it's about as good as it gets as far as we were concerned. We did wonder whether the restaurant would be worthy of the rave reviews on TA and I can confirm that it is. We went for the slow roast pork, which was beautifully presented and so flavoursome. Puds were chocolate brownie and sticky toffee, both of which were fabulous. For the set lunch price, this restaurant is extremely good value. The only downside is that we live a long way. We used to live in Nailsea and joked that we may have to move back in order that the WT would be on our doorstep. I'm not entirely sure we were joking...

This is the third time my wife and I have been to dinner and we've enjoyed every meal. The menu has varied each time, this last time was even more difficult to choose because I wanted all the menu options. My wife chose the steak for the main, which was cooked to her liking and I eventually chose the duck which was superb as were the other courses we chose. The service was friendly and attentive. I liked the fact that we were offered chilled tap water, rather than unnecessary expensive bottled water. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We plan to go for a Sunday lunch on our next visit.

Yet again another great evening here, only menu for some time when I am having difficulty deciding which of …. To order.Normally I decide quickly but at Truffles wanted to order most of them. Lemon sole was perfect, on bone of course in beurre blanc followed by Sticky toffee in butterscotch sauce with ice cream What meal could be better than that preceded by Arrancini

Terrific food from a varied summer menu; this is not food you can cook at home. Very friendly and professional service. Highly recommended.

A very pleasant restaurant located in a former Chinese just off the High Street, it has quite an upmarket plush feel to it, and the waitress seemed very friendly. We were brought tap water without asking whilst we perused the menu, which I always prefer to restaurants that try and sell you a bottle. The menu offered a decent choice, with six or seven options per course. Service was efficient, with just the right amount of waiting time, even when they got busy. It can be a fine balance between being so quick that you feel rushed and thinking where on earth is my food, but they got it just right. I started with the Beetroot cured salmon which was served with burnt orange, radish, Bloody Mary jelly and a lemon balm. The salmon was a decent size and just the right amount of beetroot infusion, whilst the jelly gave a real hit of heat. Across the table, the grilled Brixham scallops with garlic butter and a parmesan crumb were also a generous portion and very well received. A great start to the meal. My main course of roasted hake, Jersey scallops (plural), samphire, new potatoes, pea and lemon grass velouté and pak choi was perhaps a little less successful, although I still enjoyed it. First impressions were that it was a bit on the small side, and the description was a bit off as I only had one scallop and there was no sign of the pak choi. The samphire had gone soggy where it was sat in the sauce, and I wasn’t quite sure about the lemongrass and pea flavour combination, with the pea being by far the dominant of the two, although that of course is just personal preference. It was still a good dish, but after the highlights of the first course, it felt a little disappointing. No such concerns though with the Confit pork belly with braised pig cheek, carrot and anise puree and fine beans. This was a much more generous portion, tender and well-cooked meat with a good flavour. To round off I went for the Chocolate orange and hazelnut delice with hazelnut crisp, cinder toffee and coffee mocha ice cream. This was certainly a return to top form, very well presented, decadently rich and a real treat. The butterscotch custard tart with a cocoa shell and vanilla ice cream also went down very well. Overall, I really enjoyed this, it was great food in a nice setting, with great service and reasonably priced to boot. I’m not a fan of service charges being added automatically to the bill, but pretty much everywhere else in Bristol seems to have started slapping 10% or even 12½% on since Covid, so it was a refreshing change here to only get 5% added on, I’ve never seen it that low anywhere else. Overall, well worth a visit, and just what Nailsea has been crying out for since Lawrence’s closed.

Absolutely delicious. What a great place - lovely atmosphere, great staff, attentive without getting on your nerves. Food was super delicious, lunch for my husbands birthday. Duck croquettes a def hit, hake dish was beautiful, shin of beef lovely & desert lovely not too sweet or too much. All in all worth a visit will come back. Lovely to see a great independent restaurant in our local area - better than a chain any day of the week. Amazing value. Don’t change a thing.

I honestly can't see how they produce such high quality food at the price. We had duck croquettes (fabulous) followed by hake with a scallop and interesting veg etc, which was really delicious. My guest has a sweet tooth and found the deconstructed cheesecake very good.

This was our second visit, and once again we had excellent food, with lovely service. I have only eaten in two Michelin Starred restaurants, and this was better than both of them on each visit. The menu has excellent choices and I would have been happy with any of the dishes. Beautifully presented and served without fuss or pretensions. My wife has several dietary allergies, and on both occasions these were managed really well without any fuss. I can strongly recommend this restaurant and all the staff. (Note to all who live in the Nailsea & Backwell locality, please go and use this restaurant. we don't want to lose it!) Robin & Sue Lambert.

I was out on my bike and was in need of some refreshment and this appeared at just the right moment. Clearly popular with walkers and a few cyclists too, so I stopped and was glad I did. Tables outside as well as inside, the cakes looked nice but thick cut bacon sarnie was just too tempting. It lived up to it's billing, it was the nicest bacon I can remember eating in many a year. Coffee even came with a mint! They were also happy to fill up my water bottle which is always welcome. If you're passing it's well worth a visit.

...looked at the menu this morning to get a breakfast, seems the menu has changed and the price has gone up (nearly double what they were). Was a nice option to have a nice reasonable priced vegetarian breakfast before. All previous experiences were great, reasonably priced, good quality food.

Only been once so experiences may vary. It's not easy to locate but it sits on the side of the Mendip hills with incredible views into the valley below. There is large areas of parking and the entrance is easy to locate. Inside is a receptionist and it's initial feel is like a motel. I'm sure these are the offices of the company and you eat in what appears to be the staff canteen. It's better than it sounds more a motel style restaurant which staff can use. I may be wrong but don't think so. You wait to be seated and one meal is on offer. Each day is a different offering. You go to a counter to get your meal like a carvery. Our meal was roast pork roast potatoes, veg, gravy and apple sauce. For the money it wasn't bad but sat somewhere between good school lunch, as I recall them, and pub grub. The meat had the texture of having been allowed to cool and then re heated. Meat tightens up as it cools and can keep much of that texture on reheating. If it's chilled it retains all that tightness in the texture when re heated. This was re warmed I think. Veg was cabbage which was green but slightly under cooked and roast potatoes more suggestive of deep fried or maybe air fried, rather than roasted. For convenience I have deep fried potatoes, part boiled and left whole and they seemed exactly the same. They aren't like chips, by the way, they taste quite different. But not like oven roasted. But in any case taste was quite good quantity and service fair but value was average. But the view offered a fair compensation.
