We met up for a family get together. And went to The White Post for a Sunday carvery some of our group are vegetarian and had no problems finding something to eat. The service was very good and we found the staff very helpful and friendly. There is a section where people with dogs can sit with them and there are dog treats and water available for your furry friends. It's part of the Marston group and from what I experienced I would have no problems recommending it.

.Great place to bring our grandchildren for a meal out before they went back home after a weekend stay with us. Food was nicely cooked , my granddaughter loved her Hunter's chicken , saying it was better than the one she had had at the pub we ate at the day before. We will be back 👍

Awful. The food wasn’t good at all Surf and turf .. The steak was tough the scampi’s had no scampi inside the bread crumb. The tomato was chargrilled on the top the rest of the tomato was hard and cold. Worst part was the chips all covered in black bits.. Meaning the chip fryers require an oil change or they are cooking something in the fryers that should not be cooked them.. Would we return again.. No we would not..

A very pleasant experience at this beautiful pub. Came here for my nephew's first birthday and it was a great meal. The staff are so friendly and lovely and even if they weren't enjoying their job you certainly wouldn't be able to tell! They're a massive asset to you, Marstons. The menu replicates that at the burnt stump but it was a much better experience here at the white post than I've ever had at Burnt Stump. Can highly recommend the Neck Oil too! The hotdog was really nice and went down really well. Cannot wait to visit again soon... preferably without driving so I can enjoy more Neck Oil!

Had no food on the visit. Nice Location but this rating is based off the fact I paid £3.95 for a regular pepsi. I should of questioned this. Was maybe wrong or refill but if not. I think that is silly money for a medium pepsi.

This was mine and my girlfriend’s one year anniversary. Our first date was at White Post so the place holds a special place in our hearts, and the return was no exception. White Post’s variety of animals is always a delight. You think from “Farm” that the options will be limited, but with Meerkats, Porcupines, Alpacas, and an array of beautiful birds, it’s a delight to witness. That is not to dismiss the farm animals, however. The Cows and Sheep are so friendly and lovely to be around. The stars of the day were the goats - Giggles and Gargantuan - who we had the delight to be pulled along by. As were the Pygmy Goats who we found it hard to stop cuddling. The main takeaway from yesterday was “should we get a season pass” if that tells you anything about our experience. Will be returning soon. We can’t wait.

We arrived at about 6pm, myself and my partner were greeted by a girl who said we could choose anywhere to sit. And that If we were having food there could be a wait as it was busy, this confused us as the place was rather empty...? I ordered food and drinks on the app, drinks came straight away, food followed 2/3 minutes later... so no wait... Which was nice. The meals were okish, we both had pie, the filling was nice but the pastry was a little dry, we had to rely on the gravy to soften them. Throughout our meal we were asked by about 3 different waitresses if everything was OK, we appreciated the courtesy, but one checkback would have been fine, also while trying to enjoy a relaxing evening we found ourselves drowned out and talking over dance music, which we didn't feel was really appropriate for this establishment and which was on too loud. Overall it was pub grub with rather costly drinks, I've heard the Sunday Carvery is very nice, so may return to try that, but unfortunately it's unlikely we would come back any other time. All your young staff were welcoming, friendly and polite.

We have been to the white post a few times on our way home from Sherwood pines. However we stopped in today my husband, 2 children and I. Well what can I say the staff are lovely, very welcoming, nice little play area for all children pub is always clean! The food was dreadful, the fish was very greasy, not nice, the chips some was cooked some was under cooked and very hard and and far to much oil , the nachos for our daughter just had grated cheese chucked in the bottom of her little ramakin she wouldn't eat them! The onion rings on.my husbands steak i bit into one and oil poured out i put it on a paper napkin and pressed it with the falk and the oil that come out was gross Definitely no care into the food on this occasion which is such a shame. I complained to the lovely staff about the chips has they was disgusting, should not have been sent out. We had 4 portions of chips the lady with the dark hair who was very polite and understanding agreed to refund the chips and nachos which was fine. However she only refunded £1.08 we did not realise until we got home. The nachos £1.50 Chips £3 per portion. We really was underwhelmed by the standard of food especially when it's not cheap! Its not about the money it's the principle of it. Yes, the staff was amazing, couldn't knock their customer service. So you are calling me a liar? I do not have nothing to lie about thank you very much. Deny it all you like, deep fried oil filled food is not nice, some people like that we don't it was dreadful. So please do not have the audacity to call me a liar! Has i said we've been a few times to the whitepost and had no issues this time was a let down.

Unfortunately not a good experience. Booked for 14 people for a Christmas lunch on a Monday at 12.30. Meals had been pre ordered. There was no more than 10 other people in the place so not busy at all. It was nearly 2pm before starters began to appear, when we quarried the delay apparently they were busy on the Sunday and didn't have time to do any prep, not everyone had booked a starter and one of these had been forgotten, so had to be chased up. Another delay before the main meal arrived which was presented nicely but could have been hotter and some items ie parsnips not so over cooked they were inedible. The puddins arrived OK and on the whole were OK. The final straw was Unfortunately 3 of the group were unwell during the next 18 hours. The staff were all very young and inexperienced but did try to be helpful.

“Terrible” We booked a set Christmas meal for grandparents, two daughters/partners and 4 young grandchildren ranging from 9months to 4years old. The lady was rude on the phone but this was brushed off and we looked forward to the family Christmas lunch 2pm Sunday 15.12.24. The meal was also to celebrate the grandma and one of the daughters birthdays. • We arrived at around 1.30pm and ordered drinks at the bar. • Around 1.45 we were told where our table was • The children were very hungry and we were looking forward to the meal. • 2.30 the children had pulled the crackers and were getting a little fed up of waiting for the food • 2.45 I went to the bar and asked where the pre ordered starters were? • 3.00 I went to the bar again to see if there was a problem? I was told that the starters were on their way so I requested that the children’s food came out at the same due to them being really hungry and the length of time we were waiting. • 3.15 out starters came out without the children’s food so we shared the best we could with them to keep all happy and enjoy the occasion. • 3.30 we asked for the mains to be brought out along with the children’s meals. • 3.45 eventually the children’s meals were brought out but no adults mains so we could not eat as a family. • I was getting really fed up with having to beg for the food so I ask to see the manager. I was introduced to Vicky (the pub industries answer to Basil Faulty) this “lady” was very rude and blamed the fault of the poor service on us for “booking the festive meal on a Sunday!” She took the booking, and said that she needed to know what each member of the group wanted so that it would be ready for our visit. Clearly this was not the case. Vicky then got abusive so Paul (her partner) came over to see what the problem was. I explained and he agreed on the poor service due to them being busy and offered me a free round of drinks for the whole party as a way of saying sorry. I declined this as I was not there to get drunk, I just wanted a nice meal with the family. I was told that the meals were being prepared which was ironic as we were all having a Christmas dinner and we were stood at the side or the carvery area with the turkey and veg on view for all to have! • 4pm Children had now finished and wanted to play but we were still waiting for our dinner. • 4.15 I went to see Vicky again to receive another load of abuse and excuses and told that she “would never book a set meal on a Sunday again. • Our meals followed the discussions with Vicky/Paul but we had to use the cutlery from the starters as there was no alternative provided. • Roast potatoes were missing off some of the dinners so we asked for them, these arrived cold and after we had almost completed the meals. • We tried to entertain the 4 children (who had finished the dinners) while we had ours • 4.30ish I went to the bar and asked for the desserts as we were now finished and children had been waiting for theirs for a while now. • 4.45 I went and asked Vicky and Paul to PLEASE have the table cleared and bring out the desserts. Vicky again was shouting and doing her Basil Faulty impersonations, but I told them that the meal that we as a family had looked forward to so much had been ruined by their inability to manage their young staff and the situation. • 5pm (Still waiting for the desserts) enough was enough we told them that we would never return to the pub and we settled up the bill for the 2 courses that we had received at a push over the 3hours! A number of the young staff did come and apologise as we were leaving as they had seen the Christmas pantomime unfold. • It was not their fault, it was the management! • Terrible, Terrible experience that will never be repeated!!!

Popped in for a meal here tonight as staying locally. No one to greet us on entry and wondered around to check if we could sit anywhere with no guidance. Constant loud ringing of a door bell through the meal which was annoying but i am assuming it was to notify the kitchen needed service, Disappointed with the food, surf and turf medium steak that was well done and very small, plates very small for the meal which I can see other people have commented on portion size. Hunters chicken was lovely and the chicken was tender, again very small portion sizes. Childrens meal burger and chips no beans or anything with it, disappointed. Burger bun was burnt black inside so my son was very gutted. No one came to check if the meal was okay and spending over £50 was disappointing. Boys on the bar were chirpy and helpful must say that 🙂 I wouldn't say a bad experience, just not a great experience compared to other local places. Will try again in the summer 🙂

I was also part of the big group last night and I'm laughing to myself at the pathetic response from the Manager. Nobody was threatening, We was a group half adults, half kids. Why would anyone start kicking off... From watching the pair of staff coming outside to tell us that even though we had reserved a table. Then been told to wait. It was now not possible to be seated for food. Which in all honestly is utterly disgraceful. Then you try and blame the customers lol, Your staff were told that that's not right, you didn't say oh here, Have a drink on the house for an inconvenient, you just stood there looking like a deer in headlights saying yeah, sorry. Instead of trying to deal with it in a better manor. Own up to your mistakes and don't lie on TripAdvisor. Cheers. PS the Alders accepted the Table of 20 on last minute and saved the night. Visited this evening as a family of 7, including a 1 year old child. Ordered a round of 6 drinks and was served 5 by a rude and incompetent barman who told us we could not put it on a tab. Had to go back to the bar to tell him that we were missing a drink, no apology for the inconvenience. Went back to the bar to order food and was told no food is being served for 20/30 minutes, once again we were not offered an apology or explanation of this and were told in an abrupt way. After 20 minutes the manager came to serve food to the table next to us and we asked when we can order food. She told us another 20 minutes. We complained that we had booked a table at 4pm and it was now 5pm and still not allowed to order food. The manager rudely said that we had not booked the table. My brother then proceeded to show the manager booking confirmation and had also complained that his 1 year old som was hungry and they needed to order food. The manager walked away to find a conclusion and came back 5 minutes later saying that they could put the food through for the 1 year old child. She then proceeded to say that she has tried to find the best solution and that we were rude. Another waiter has also claimed that the barman was apologetic and provided a good service which was a complete lie. The service was absolutely terrible and every single staff member was rude to us. As a family just about to spend a minimum of £150. You should be ashamed of how you treat paying customers. The ‘Manager’ in charge was inexperienced in dealing with frustrated customers (and rightly so) and ultimately pushed us to a point where we stood up and left as the service was so bad. If that is how your manager is running the establishment then I think she would struggle running a bath.

Chips also very dry ..My grandson commented Culinary skills have alot to be desired for . Only meal looked nice was fish and chips , but you don't like to complain when put on the spot . On a plus side the staff are very nice but a shame standards have slipped with meals . I know nothing stays the same but this was not Hunters chicken . My family even noticed . Friendly service from all the staff and very accomodating. Pub is very spacious with lots of seating options. The only negative of this venue is that I found the pool table to be a bit of a high price at £1.50 a game. But if you are looking for somewhere to meet friends with good transport connections for a good value meal, this is the place!

MANAGER SHOUTED AT SINGLE MUM AND MADE HER CRY IN FRONT OF KIDS over a burger. Avoid this place. Not sure if they’re new as used to be a lovely place but the manager right now are vile. Single mum on a camping holiday with her kids complained about her burger which took them 3 times to get right. When she complained the manager cam out, argued, raised his voice and then said he would call the police if she didn’t leave. His wife then came out as I stepped in and she said she didn’t care about it or that she lost our business.

I went with my son who's in an electric wheelchair, it's very accessible, the food was good and the staff were super friendly and attentive. I had fish and chips, my son had the hunters chicken.. I had sticky toffee pudding and ice cream for dessert.. I was so full but I couldn't leave any it was so good! My son had a huge brownie Sundae and really liked it and we had a pint of lager each.. prices were very fair.

The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We will be visiting again soon as we have enjoyed it so much. Thank you to all the team at the post for making our family evening a memorable one.

For one we didn’t even get given knives or forks and when the waitress came over with them just shoved them at the end of the table with no napkins. And also may I add I’ve never been so uncomfortable sat having my dinner I have quite bad social anxiety so it’s hard for me to even come out to public places and I wasn’t constantly getting stared at by the waitress and a guy working behind the bar and at some point stood smirking while staring. I DO NOT come out to be made to feel uncomfortable. Your staff should seriously have better attitudes. The waitress had longish dark curly hair and the guy had dark hair tattoos

The White Post was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly. They had a good knowledge of gluten-free. We visited here because they accept tastecard so we received a discount on the meal too. Food was great and reasonably priced.

Food not bad, been out a long time so the roast potatoes were hard, and some of the veg was dry. Service was good, atmosphere ok.

Its a three star hotel, so expect that. There aren't many staff. Those who you can find and very helpful. The room was big and clean, but the decoration was a bit tired. Comfortable bed and quiet, we didn't get disturbed at all, which is usual for a hotel. I can't comment on the location beyond it worked for us as it is very close to a friend we were visiting. Nice breakfast (we do full English).
