White House in Harrow

Keep trying thinking the average or below average meals are a one off. Today was the last straw, hubby got us a meal of haddock and chips. The chips were horrible as of double fried or old, the haddock was not fresh. It had an awful smell . They gsve us a generous portion but unfortunately it was inedible! Not going back. It’s not hard to provide fresh and tasty fish and chips , so we’re not bothering again!

I have been going here for over two decades now. The food is always fantastic, the portions are large and the family who owns it always seem friendly and polite.

I have no idea what’s happening to this place but standards are declining. We fancied a lunch time treat and came here early in the afternoon for a takeaway meal. To our horror we were served the most atrocious meal. The chips were over done. How they can serve crunchy overcooked chips is infuriating. The fish was tasteless with a slight aftertaste and the batter far too greasy. Bearing in mind we travel far and wide to get delicious food and my hubby enjoys and knows quality fish. He’s been here before and has never been served such a poor meal. For over £35 for 2 we expect better quality. We’d left for our lunch picnic before we realised how poor it was. The chap had given us an additional piece of fish which would have been a lovely gesture if the quality was good. Unfortunately we just couldn’t eat it. We were hungry so we tried but had to give up! The chips and fish seemed old and compared to what we’ve had here before it was completely below par! Bring back your previous standards and stop cutting corners. We won’t be rushing back.

Have been here so many times, cannot remember since when, and never disappointed. Usually end up taking home half the fish to enjoy the next day. Haddock particularly good. Fried for you. Friendly staff. Prices fair.

this chip shop makes great fish and chips we always call when attending a football match in London and parking at Stanmore tube station, sets you up for the long drive home, not cheap but really good

It was ok not bad. Nothing to rave about as there are other fish bars in the area that are amazing. The portions are way too big for a single person. There should be smaller options available too.

Lovely fish and chips, eat in or takeaway. They also take orders over the telephone. Staff lovely and very accommodating. Varied menu with other foods, I.e. meat pies, sausages etc. There are toilet facilities. Next door to Cancer Research.
