White Horse in Harborough

Have occasionally come with the family to the White Horse for lunch when visiting my Mum. This time it was just myself and Mum for Mothers day. We both chose options from the specials menu and then had a dessert and both enjoyed our meal very much. Only thing we could criticise is the loos which could be better and less smelly.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Food was delicious. Service was warm and friendly. Such an interesting pub with beautiful outdoor seating.

Very good meals fish n chips great,pies are fantastic with fat chips 🍟 kids had great desserts all served by Tina she was wonderful very helpful and friendly

We have just held our charity Ladies Lunch for 98 ladies at the White Horse and everything was outstanding! The food service was prompt, well organised and food came out piping hot. All of the meals were lovely and we have had no negative feedback whatsoever. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful both before, during and after the event, everything we requested was carried out. The whole team were a pleasure to work with and we very much look forward to hosting our next event there. Highly reccommend!

The food was terrible, clearly all frozen / microwaved. The filling of the pie i had was rock solid and the pastry tasted stale.

Came into the pub for meal and they had a new menu.So I tried the new hoptdog pizza, which was Recommended by Megan and Alex and I for the staff was amazing service and very helpful

I booked for a table of 12 for a 60th birthday party. The staff allowed us to decorate the area and have our own cake. All the staff were super helpful and attentive. The food was the best we have had here and for saying there were 12 of us there wasn’t one complaint about the food at all, which with 4 children eating is a big feat!! We had a lovely visit and will definitely be returning.

Booked for our annual Christmas meal. 19 of us and we all really enjoyed

We had a fantastic meal at the White Horse in Broughton Astley on Sunday 8 December. We were a party of 15 with elderly and diners with dementia. I booked in person with Andrea the Manager and explained that we had some people with us who ate very small amounts due to their health and some diners were with mobility equipment and she went out of her to accommodate us with small plates and a seating area that was suitable for our party. On arrival we were met by Tina who showed us to our seats and Amy one of the serving team came to take our drinks order. Throughout the meal Amy, Rachel and Katie were fantastic at looking after us. The meal itself was the Christmas menu. Everyone enjoyed the soup, pate and prawn cocktail served with delicious toasted breads.(Prawns were big and juicy) most of our party had the turkey. The turkey was a very generous portion that melted in the mouth. It was accompanied by a large carrot, parsnip, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, mash, roast potatoes, red cabbage and a stuffing ball and a sausage wrapped in bacon. Fantastic selection I thought for the money we paid and I have ate alot of Christmas dinners at expensive restaurants and hotels over the years. The meal was excellent, well presented and tasty. Not one complaint. We opted for Christmas puddings, lemon tarts and sticky toffee puddings for desserts and coffee for after. The White Horse team looked after us very well. Five star service, from a happy team who are just trying to do their best. Well done White Horse we will definately be back

Good place to and excellent customer service

We held our charity Ladies Festive Lunch at the White Horse this week for 120 ladies and everything was absolutely outstanding. We have used other venues in the past, but all the ladies that I spoke to said that this was by far the best. We had a 2 course lunch and the service, food and staff were all brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Also dealing with the pub beforehand to organise the event was easy, and again, nothing was too much trouble for them. As a result I have chosen to hold our neighbours Christmas meal at the white horse for 26 people and will be booking our spring charity ladies lunch there for 120 ladies. I can thoroughly recommend the white horse!

We attended an organised charity lunch at the White Horse yesterday 19/11/24. The event was for 120 people and I have to say I was very impressed the Christmas lunch was lovely and hot and the crumble and custard was delicious. The staff were great and the venue perfect for the event. It is difficult to cater to that many people at once but it was a great lunch!

Very well organised and friendly service. Good value meals with the occasional special offer.

Great food (Fish and Chips was out of stock) but had Scampi instead. Great Malbec, Good and Prompt Customer Service.

Lovely pub, great food, good value for money. Really good with allergies, my daughter has an egg allergy and they double checked everything, even brought the chef out to check everything. Assured all would be kept separate when cooking too. Amazing! So reassuring when it's usually pretty stressful eating out.

Quite empty when we arrived, food had to be ordered at bar and took ages to come out. Worst we’ve had in a long time, fish was huge but consisted mainly of batter with a tiny piece of fish in the middle, very dry and over cooked. ‘Salt and chilli chicken kebab on flat bread’ A few very small ‘scraps’ of chicken, under cooked and had been nowhere near a kebab skewer ! Served with a pile of cold fries. McDonald’s would probably be more edible than this. Even with 30% off this food was a joke. Definitely wouldn’t recommend you waste your money.

Just had an amazing meal out with my cousin really reasonably priced food was very good. Mix grill was nom nom shalom.The customer service was amazing so quick, polite and accoming to my dietary requirements. Rachel was the best Waitress ever can't recommend The White Horse enough, Rachel really made us feel welcome definitely tip and deserves a raise. God bless you guys. 🙏🏾

Found this marstons pub a delight to visit for food and drink with 30% off mains.

Nice pub, staff seem pretty miserable though, that’s for sure. Food was lovely but definitely not worth what we paid. Drinks were nice, lots of choice, but again super expensive. We came in the evening, there was dogs constantly barking indoors, and it just wasn’t the environment we expected. Wont be in a rush to go back soon.

Quick order service via app, food and drinks came out quickly considering it was busy. No issues at all, recommend this place!

Of the four meals we wanted to order only one was available. Must have a supply issue as it was an early booking on a Friday evening?

Refused food as they were hosting some corporate do. Not enough bar staff to serve. Noisy atmosphere.

The White Horse hosted a funeral wake for us with a buffet in a sectioned off area. I cannot fault the service from the team there, all very considerate and supportive. Thanks guys!!!

Great place to visit. It's partially dog friendly too (designated area). We've been going for years & have rarely had a bad experience. Simple but adequate food.

Have eaten here many times and the food is always good. Tina is very friendly and accommodating, both her and her husband are very community minded too.

Great pub! food is always tasty and hot, the pub is always clean and tidy. Andria always provides great service and with a smile. Waitresses are always happy to help with any needs! Defiantly worth a visit!

Tables left dirty. Asked for table to be cleaned but had to ask second time as waitress forgot. Opportunity and time was there for the waitress to clear and clean the other tables, but they were left. Another couple had to request their table to be cleaned not long after. Meals arrived, no napkins and had to ask for sauces. Generally, the restaurant looked dirty and scruffy and the service was not good. This place used to be much better and with some care and attention, could be again. Moved outdoors to the seating area, this too was untidy. Sorry for the bad review but hopefully honest feedback can help improvements as food was ok.

Went there today and sat down. Their online ordering service wasn't working. So then we walked over to the counter to order only to be told they aren't doing any food except for a special pizza menu that they provide only on asking. Even then they didn't half ingredients for the pizzas. We placed the orders and were told 5 mins but got 4/5 pizzas after 25 mins and the 5th one after close to 45 mins. Taste was subpar as well.

Perfect pub to stopover for the night in our motorhome, halfway point between Portsmouth and Yorkshire. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was amazing!

food dreadfull will never return

Quite literally the worst food I've had for many years, not just the cooking was bad but the quality of the food was poor. Considering it was a bank holiday I thought it might be busy I should have known it was going to be bad when I walked in and not busy at all.

Good place for food apart from a customer who came up to my mum and me and said they booked the table we were sitting at, and it clearly had no reservation on the table and given us funny looks. After that, it did upset me. Has it been my birthday, and my mum was treating me to a nice meal

Really lovely and welcoming pub, we chose this as a pub to stop off while doing a long journey and found the staff were really friendly and food was served in really good time. Great quality food and would recommend to anyone heading toward that area! Thank you!

We have been to the White Horse 3 times in the last 2 weeks - really clean pub, friendly staff, and the food is absolutely delicious and really reasonably priced. I'm sure we will be visiting again soon :) 5* for sure

Printed menu described meals that were not served as described "because it is Sunday". No Sunday menu was provided, so what are customers supposed to do? Guess? Mind read?! Plenty of parking, generous outside eating area, nice play area , good for families, roomy inside too.

Service was polite and friendly but the prices for food was too high and with way too many dishes of the menu for whatever reason. We were nearly tempted to depart as another family did just as they entered and soon departed

We again took advantage of a discount voucher to enjoy a meal. Irrespective of being a Wednesday the place was very busy but service was attentive. Food and drink all good and staff pleasant.

Food was enjoyable but small portions and not worth the cost. I had the veggie burger with chips; it would have been nice to have some salad or veg with it. We went to use a 30% off mains voucher but I forgot to present it on paying and paid full price unfortunately.

Booking was easy, good experience

My personal experience was very disappointing. Toilets out of order….used the alternative one at the other end of the pub…no handwashing…no paper towel….hand dryer not working…broken lock on toilet door…broken tiles. Not dirty….just not up to standards folk are right to expect. Asked for a tia Maria coffee….young barman clearly bemused….presents me with a coffee with no cream? When I said where’s the cream he asked a barmaid….she pointed him to a fridge….he put his hand in and took something out and disappeared into the kitchen….came back with it topped with squirty cream!! Double cream is what is required. For £6.35 I felt robbed. To top it off the card machine wouldn’t work…after three tries I paid in cash. I think some serious management and investment is required here. Such a shame as I’m sure it is a fabulous building and well patronised. Please invest in a bit of training….the staff are all pleasant, I’m not moaning about them.

Meal was excellent value for money and the service was quick and very efficient and friendly.

A severe shortage of what was on the menu, I had to walk back to my table 3 times to amend the order, and then a waitress informed me no pepper sauce !! We weren't the only people who had this experience. You need to carry a better stock, instead of disappointing customers

First visit Enjoyed the food and the staff were very pleasent Our second visit today, and again super food and lovely staff. We travel from Lutterworth instead of using our local Marsden (the Elms) as the food there is awful, and the White horse is worth the trip, we will be going back again. I have added to my previous review as you can only leave one person business.

Lovely village pub. The two blonde ladies behind the bar who run the pub are so friendly and are the reason we regularly visit, they do so well keeping calm and professional with some of the disrespectful youths that hang around occasionally. Great selection of beers and the food is always great value.

Cannot comment on the food we only had a drink called in to see what it was like as I used to drink in pub about 50 years ago what a change staff polite woll comment on the food after trying it and the service but it all looked very good

We popped in for a drink , we had our dog with us, the staff were very friendly, the bar staff bought the dog some water and treats. Would recommend this pub

Had a great night, Jenny was fantastic greeted us with a smile when we came in sorted our drinks and directed us to our table. She took our orders and was very helpful with our selections. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at a reasonable price, service was great. Only problem was a barking dog in a pram.

Food and service were amazing, always an amazing time at the White Horse. Atmosphere was ruined by a female on the table next to us with a dog in a pushchair. The female was hell bent on bringing the service and food down. It seems, from what I heard, that she was after freebies.

Nice pub, friendly staff, okay service, dog friendly, but... We used to eat here regularly, but got fed up with having to return food that was not hot, orders that weren't correct, dough balls that were raw dough etc. Their pizzas used to be great, but paying 75p for about 5p worth of extra topping is very poor. I had Scampi recently and there were about 20 chips on the plate and probably a dessert spoon (10ml) of peas. In addition, the dish of tartare sauce (which I don't like) looked like it had been dropped and picked up from the floor We visit another Marston's pub 15 minutes away, that has the same menu as TWH,and I can't fault the food or service, so don't understand why our experiences here can't be the same.
