The White Horse is everything a proper pub should be—cosy, welcoming, and just the right side of lively. The ale selection is spot-on (the sort that turns a quick pint into a proper session). The staff treated my dog like a VIP and me like an old mate. You come in for a drink, end up staying for hours, and leave half-considering a move to the village. Five stars, no question—just don’t take my seat

Absolutely electric, food is incredible, staff are the nicest people providing great service. Prices and deals on certain foods are a big +. 11/10

Popped in for a pint whilst visiting someone in the area, forgot to sort parking registration, got the ticket and spoke with Graham the manager and he has been able to get it removed, very helpful and friendly staff, would highly recommend this venue, just remember to insert your reg details if using the car park. I love coming to this pub. I have brought all my family members to this place. It is busy on match days. The food is usually fair and honest. Last time I came here the Gammon was just perfect, I was impressed. :)

Our new local! Recently moved to the area and Graham the manager has been warm and welcoming every time we come up. Food is two for £15 during the week and not had a bad meal yet, cheaper than ordering a deliveroo! Looks like they have nights for charity and is always buzzing on the weekend or if there is sports on

Great little pub and staff are amazing. Had a slight problem with parking but they sorted this out for us straight away. Fairly priced considering it's Caversham but always busy when we've been there. Highly recommended :)

Just celebrated my birthday here with my family and friends, they went to so much effort for us and we had a fantastic night. Food was amazing, staff are always happy and so helpful. Also if your looking for a dogs friendly pub the White Horse is great as they even offer a doggie menu. There is an area where they were showing the football and also we had use of the darts board!! We were a group of 7 yesterday including 2 children. Meals which I ordered came in good time and were served quickly. Good value for Money. Staff very helpful. Only complaint from my guests was that the ladies toilets need updating. Loose toilet seat and I was told that carpet at door entrance is dirty and sticky.

What a lovely, dog-friendly place. Emily, Jess and Paul delivered excellent service, piping hot food from a great menu. The only issue was the Christmas Dinner with preformed turkey, which was salty and a little mushy. The rest of the food was lovely. Definitely coming back.

Went to the White Horse 🐎 on Monday, expected to have just the one, but ended up having 3 maybe 4. Graeme and Paul were very pleasant and beer was good.

We've been to The White Horse a few times for an evening meal & everything has been fine. We went on Friday 8th for a late lunch & unfortunately the meals were not upto the standard we were used to, my wife had the hunter's chicken that was absolutely swimming in bbq sauce the chicken was burnt, the onion rings were cold & burnt & she had about 6 chips on side of plate. I myself had the gammon & that was incredibly salty. The time before I had the gammon it was perfect. Maybe it was a different chef or something but the food this time definitely wasn't up to par.

Great pub that we visit daily at work for lunch. The food is really good and priced very well for it. The staff extremely friendly and welcoming.

Friendly local restaurant. We loved to spend time and enjoy the food here. We come here still even we moved out from emmer green as we can’t find a restaurant with this quality and price. The pull pork taco is Amazing and the hunter chicken. We recommend to our friends every time when we bring them here.

The food is not too pricey, the servers give dog water bowls and dog biscuits, all for free and most places now don’t accept dogs so this place is very good for our dog and many others would agree, great place good with cool lights with an example with a monkey one, great food with a variety of food to buy with my favourite the 28 day ages steak…

The wait time was nearly 60 mins and when we got our food the steak was over cooked when I asked for rare. Our burger had no cheese or onion rings and was cold with a stale bun. Mocktail was unmixed. Overall not impressed

Love going here with my husband and 7 year old. Staff are Always friendly as are the locals that are there. Great value for money! Can’t believe the food and drink deals they have. Really nice to get that in this area but still has a nice pub feel. Nothing fancy but a really vast menu- I get really bored of the same old pub food even at the more expensive places. Can be noisy on sports events but really nice for a daytime drink. Not been in the evening/night but I assume it would still be good as everyone is quite friendly. I put up a photo of the chicken tacos 2 for only £5.99! And they serve a good Peroni. 😄

Cosy, comfy and cool! One of the best pubs in Reading with a wonderfully warm atmosphere and superb service.

Went for a lunch time drink and got stung for a parking fine just for parking in the pub car park. The landlady and brewer kindly organised a refund.

It is not noisy and background music is subdued I know that I will always have a good meal there, there is a good menu and the chef is very good The manager and his wife are friendly and welcoming and the service is good

Brilliant location for our pub lunch. Everyone enjoyed food, recommend the gammon egg & chips. Even the dogs enjoyed the free treats. Service with a smile, excellent staff. Will be back again soon.

Had a lovely unexpected meal here this evening, during a trip to Reading. Lovely food and drink. Staff were incredibly friendly and checked to make sure all was okay. This may become my regular pit stop, and I can even charge my car! 😊

Popped in to watch the England vs Argentina rugby matched.... plenty of TV screens around the pub to choose from. Really warm welcome from the bar staff. Dogs are allowed and they even sell dog ice cream, which was perfect for today, the hottest day of the year. Ordered some snacks - the nacho platter was massive and full loaded with cheese and chilli's, and the halloumi fries with chilli dipping sauce hit the spot. (Last orders were 8.30pm on a Saturday night).

I’ve been here quite a few times now and I always enjoy the vibe. Good place for families, good value, plenty of seating on the patio, nice location next to the playing field. A nice voice for a weekend meal. The staff are great and the manager Graeme goes above and beyond to help you out.
