Overall, a lovely stay. The place was spotless and smelt fresh. My single room was both cosy and comfortable. Staff are clearly working hard.

I was very impressed with The White Hart which is a very quirky 16th century building. I stayed in a recently refurbished room which was very clean and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfy. Unfortunately the radiator’gurgled ‘ all night which interrupted my sleep and I think the lighting in the bathroom could have been brighter - a light over the bathroom mirror would be good. The food, particularly the breakfast was delicious and good value. The staff were friendly and the Inn is a great location for both the city centre and quay.

After travelling for 36 straight hours from South Korea, check in was relatively straight forward, with a concise, polite and informative hotel safety briefing and breakfast chat. The room is looking a tad tired and outdated, and, could certainly do with a new carpet and general overhaul, aesthetically speaking. Otherwise, it appeared clean enough. No issues with the WIFI, it functioned well without issue. The bathroom was clean, with a nice warm power shower and fresh towels. Beds were clean and comfy to sleep in. However, the hotel was very "NOISY". We were awoken at 0400hrs by screaming, shouting, and slamming of doors by another hotel guest. This went on until around 0530hrs, when I assume they got bored of each other and passed out. However, further screaming and shouting was heard from what I can only assume was a homeless woman and her friends sleeping in and around the pub alleyway. This was then accompanied by building works occuring in and around the hotel, until I left at 0900hrs for an appointment. The breakfasts were well cooked and reasonable for the price. No issues there. Though, overall, I certainly feel an update to the outer windows would be of benefit, to remove any external noise from unwanted guests. As for what you can do about noisy guests in the hotel. I am not too sure. Fine them for disturbing the peace. Likewise, it would have been useful to have known building works were taking place at the hotel prior to my arrival, so that I could have made a better choice for our night's rest. Not a peaceful stay if I am honest. For the 4hrs I did sleep, they went by far too quickly.

While the staff and atmosphere was great, I was disappointed that there was a large hole in the wall next to my bed upon arrival. I expected better and would therefore avoid visiting in the future unfortunately. James was great and understanding but I still felt let down by my experience due to the condition of my room.

Rowdy people in the bar causing chaos and broken glass all over so went out to eat. Then the fire alarm went off at 2.30 in the morning so had very little sleep when was booked last minute to rest rather than driving to and from Exeter for work. Pointless costly exercise. Nobody around to talk to when I checked out so put it down a s a bad experience!

2 double rooms for 1 night £84 + £5 for parking on New Year’s Day 2025 A good, clean hotel and right in the centre of Exeter. It has a good priced restaurant and a bar and a Wetherspoons over the road is a bonus too. Friendly staff and has on site parking for £5 Rooms are a little tired but clean and comfy and for the price an absolute bargain. I can definitely recommend staying here 100%

Had my works Christmas meal here. The service was extremely slow, food was OK but nothing special . The manager did give us a free bottle of wine because we had to wait so long. Wasn't even that busy in there . We were also charged different prices for the same drinks ... so watch out if your going here

The Hotel/pub is well located in Exeter and also a reasonably priced place to stay until you consider the following. We stayed in room 24 which wasn't fit for occupation. The room fronts the main road, has a mattress that has broken springs and is permanently hot, even when the windows are open (in late November). See images to show the quality of the curtains and mattress. No wireless connectivity and when asked member of the hotel team said the service was ‘working perfectly fine’ (see image). Entry and exit from the hotel onto the street is via the courtyard where the smokers and vapours congregate so entry and exit from the hotel onto the street is not that pleasant when you have to walk through clouds of smoke being exhaled by those clustered in the space. No members of staff around on Sunday morning at check-out to discuss these issues. A very disappointing experience.

We come to Exeter 2/3 times a year. And we stay at the White Hart. The staff are always helpful and the rooms are always clean and tidy. The top floor is always quiet, so if you are a light sleeper like me ask for that. Anything we needed has always been taken care of. It's so close to the centre of Exeter. £5 a day parking is perfect. We shall be back early next year.

Second stay at the White Hart. It's a lovely quirky pub with a great atmosphere in the bars. Food is good, and reasonably priced, but a few more veggie options would be very much appreciated. Rooms are fairly basic, but clean and have all the essentials and bed was quite comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, although self service juice/coffee/toast would improve things from our perspective.

Great comms and welcome from the reception staff and throughout our 2 night stay. The food was excellent, plentiful, and good value. The room was really warm even given the weather outside. My only criticism and it's a personal and small one was just that and due to the safety/security catch i couldn't open the window wider. The car park is large. We will definitely be back.

Lovely place to stay, easy to find park and access. Staff were friendly, room was perfect for what we needed, comfy beds huge bathroom and very warm, glad the windows opened! Breakfast was hot and tasty. The bar across the way was very cute, lovely cup of tea in the afternoon. The only thing I noticed was our carpet could do with being renewed, quite thread bare in places, but to be expected with lots of guests! I’d certainly stay again and recommend. Short walk to the Christmas market and shops, perfect.

Hard to believe this is a Marston's property. We didn't stay but had a drink in the bar and the whole place is filthy. Food underneath chairs that had gone hard it had been there so long and the seats we sat on had ground in grime. Looking up the stairs to the accommodation, the carpets are threadbare. I appreciate it's an old property and that's part of the charm but there's no excuse for dirt.

I had an enjoyable stay here. The hotel reception and bar staff were excellent and the room quiet and clean. My friends and I enjoyed a well cooked and good priced meal ( though we did not knowthat the kitchen shut at 9pm, so we missed out on puddings). The breakfast was a bit disappointing. My friends were unable to get ordinary porridge the first day and they said the coffee was much too stong. On the second day a croissants arrived without butter or a knife which seemed strange. I was disappointed that toast was not included in the pre paid full English breakfast price. I ordered it as an extra: the first day it came with butter and jam, but the second morning it came just with butter. When I tried to pay for the toast at hotel reception on check out, they were unable to process the payment. So I was not charged the £1.50 for toast! Despite the rather poor breakfast service, we enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

My partner and I stayed here. We got charged £200 per hour for using the car park despite paying extra to use this service. I put in a review on trip advisor and the White Hart replied saying contact us separately. This then appears to people reading the review they will then sort any issues outside of this app. I did email them separately as requested and they never bothered to respond, compounding the poor customer service we had already received.

Was going there 4-5 x per week and spending 8 -12 £ per time . Have a somewhat greedy dog who wanted 2-3 small cheap dog biscuits. Staff made me feel very uncomfortable for taking more than one small dog biscuit. Live in town and never went back and dont plan. So an very cheap poor quality dog biscuit would have cost maybe 5p per week at the most but you lost over 50 quid per week!
