Leonardo Hotel Exeter - Formerly Jurys Inn in Exeter

I am blown away by my stay at this Hotel, amazing staff, the food is fantastic, and the rooms are so comfortable! The best breakfast too!! I will be staying here again for sure!!

Stayed at this hotel recently. The hotel itself was okay, comfortable & clean but I am writing this review regarding management & the honesty of the some of its staff members. I had a long drive to & from the hotel & because of this I was tired & left an expensive red LED light mask I use daily to help with scarring on my face. I rung the hotel about 6 hours after I left assuming it would have been handed in. How wrong was I! Chloe the manager on at the time couldn't have cared less that such an expensive item had by accident been left in the room nor could she have cared less that the item hadn't been handed in by the staff. I explained the situation & assured her the item was in the room as I had used it just that morning but again she insisted it had not been handed in. I am at a loss that such an item has been stolen & I am really disappointed how this has been handled. Never did I ever expect hotel staff to steal or to not care less. Chloe couldn't wait to get me off the phone & didn't empathise or even offer to take the matter further. I will not be staying at this hotel or the chain again & will be speaking to Egencia & the company I work for to get the hotel chain taken off our recommended hotels.

Paying +100£ for a room and bed is too tough you dont have tooth brush you need to buy it staff is anoying minding your business

Went for University open day. Its a good 25 min walk to Uni from the hotel but easy enough. Hotel v modern & clean. Staff v helpful

The room was spotless and comfortable with everything you need….but, it was the staff who made the stay such a pleasure! Carley made us feel most welcome at reception and Karen, well , what can you say? Great company and so funny! Will definitely stay again when visiting Exeter 🙏

Nice clean hotel on edge of town

Dear Customer Service Team, I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at Leonardo Hotel Exeter from the 12th to the 13th of February. Before making my reservation, I contacted your team to confirm that late check-in and late check-out would be available. The lady I spoke to assured me that she had made a note of my request, which gave me the confidence to proceed with the booking. However, when it was time to check out, I received a call from reception informing me that I had to leave or pay £20 per hour to stay longer. My partner and I were taken aback by this, especially since I had confirmed the arrangement in advance. The staff claimed there was no record of my request. Additionally, the receptionist appeared unfamiliar with the situation and struggled to handle it. Another colleague stepped in to assist, but the only option offered was to pay for the extended stay, which was not communicated to me when I called. This experience left me feeling frustrated and disappointed with the level of customer service provided. I hope this matter will be taken seriously to prevent similar situations for future guests. That being said, I did find the hotel itself pleasant, but this situation and the lack of support from the staff significantly affected my overall experience. Very nice hotel with excellent helpful staff and they do wonderful teas and coffee downstairs

Room was good size. Service was good. The extractor fan in my bathroom was a little noisy and stayed on all night. It's also on quite a busy road so some noise from that, next time I'll request a room at the back. There is a car park opposite which is £10 a day if pay at reception. Annoyingly having done this the barriers refused to let me out but was all ok after pressing the Help button.

Great stay. Clean/modern rooms and great service. Nice breakfast too. Very very good value for money!

Rooms without heating Heating system in sleep state or blocked. I found a room with a bathroom in which the water drain from the sink was blocked. The room was exchanged. Unfortunately, there is no heating in winter. Saving electricity requires special attention.

Great place verry clean and smart. Staff are amazing especially karren! Had a odd request of getting a egg and they did it no trouble!

Just home from a brilliant trip. Four friends staying overnight with breakfast. We had a fantastic time in this lovely, clean, comfortable hotel. Staff were extremely kind, helpful and made the stay convenient and easy. Great location for a night away, lovely breakfast and lovely rooms. No complaints from us. Thank you all for a wonderful stay

Beautiful establishment well located close to bars and shops

I had a lovely time staying with my two best friends. The hotel was impressive, and the service was excellent. It was clean and provided all the essentials we needed. The breakfast was delicious.

Great Central location with large well equipped rooms

Really good spot to stay for the price point. A short walk to the high street (5 mins) and the beds are comfortable and the rooms quiet.

A great location for city centre Exeter but Carly on the reception team was absolutely fabulous! Went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. The only thing I’d recommend is to stock on some dental kits etc, as I’ve forgotten my toothbrush and sadly they’ve ran out of all dental kits when I was staying!

The room was tidy and the staff were really helpful.

The staff here are absolutely faultless! 5 star service, from check in to check out, bar staff, catering staff and the staff looking after our conference all superb, cleaning staff also were amazing. For a 4 star hotel the rooms are a basic 3 star, no biscuits, no individual toiletries, small beds and rooms. The food is very overpriced in the restaurant too, £8 for 6 little Haloumi fries is extortion for example. The complimentary lemon infused water and hot chocolate are very nice touches May I add. Breakfast was good, plentiful and fresh. Parking is easy. Location is great. Shame about the rooms but time and again where I travel nationwide I see so called 4 star hotels not living up to the smaller independent 3 stars. Well done staff and Merry Christmas!

Really nice hotel in Exeter city centre. It's a great location and handy. The place has good-sized rooms, which are clean and tidy. The bar and restaurant are both top-notch. The food was really nice. My biggest issue is that there isn't any free parking at the hotel.

We stayed here when our original hotel had been out of action due to snow and a power cut! Our room was comfortable and staff were very friendly welcoming, particularly Karen who was manning the bar single handedly due to staff shortages. She remained friendly, efficient and professional under pressure. Luckily Roy helped out later! Cosy and comfortable with good wine and delicious burgers. Thanks Karen

The mattress needs a proper steam clean. I woke up half way through the night because of the very slight smell of urine (after the AC was off).

We were very satisfied. At that time the hotel was probably still called Jurys Inn

The aircon randomly switched off overnight. As before the breakfast selection was rubbish: no apple juice, only a few pastries left (this was an hour before breakfast closing time), staff reluctant to bake any more. No mushrooms - some were fried for me, but why should I have to ask? The 'scrambled egg' looked like runny wall paper paste, and clearly was made from dried ingredients in a packet. The fried eggs were pale and tasteless. So in future, Brodies for breakfast!!

Clean room, close to central Exeter. Only stayed for one night but no problems at all.

Me and two of my colleagues were the first to arrive to the buffet on day 2 of a course. By the time the educators made it to the buffet there was barely any food left ( same as day 1 by the way!). To my surprise, The catering lady points her finger at us saying that we filled our plates ! ( we did not take more than anyone took !! ) The course coordinator later came and apologised for this which I really appreciate. I wanted to highlight this as it was very insulting and inappropriate to assume that the food was finished because of us ! This encounter ruined the day and I will never set a foot inside this hotel ever again.

I was amazed to find a well located hotel, reasonably priced with great food and drink, and really busy in Exeter. A nice surprise indeed for just a stop to recharge energies. I am pleased I decided to book there.

Really nice, with good entertainment

We really enjoyed our stay at the Leonardo. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Shift manager, Karen is a real asset to your team. Good beer on tap in the bar too! Highly recommended if you're staying in Exeter!

Worst hotel in Exeter, by far. Stay at your own risk.

Certainly a lot for them to improve. The reception could be more welcome. When I walk into the room, the bed is not in the right place so I have to push it back and pillows are at the end of the bed: so the room is half-ready.

They were lovely sized rooms, and they were very clean. Beds are very comfortable and lovely clean white bedding. Staff were very helpful and very friendly and helpful. Ideal location to city centre . And a great bonus is that once the windows are closed, there is almost no noise coming through from the traffic

Great central location, clean and friendly staff

Really nice, clean hotel which is close to Exeter centre. The rooms are cosy and there is a decent buffet breakfast. The staff are really friendly especially Karen and Finn on the bar, they couldn’t do more for us. ⭐️
