Visited last night, wasn't sure what to expect as 30+years ago it was a very different venue but it was a most excellent night. Door staff were friendly and professional, bar staff efficient and friendly, music not my usual taste but enjoyable, everyone friendly and chill, people dancing and mingling. Drinks priced about what I expected, not over the top considering they are open til the wee hours.

Me and my partners regular place to drink and chill. Not expensive at all. Lovely door and bar staff. Good entertainment. Safe LGBT space. Ignore the old reviews on here it has reopened this year with a refurb and new owners and staff.

The place since the new owners took it on has been incredible, Dale and his team always go the extra mile and have now become close friends - no matter what your orientation... Always a great laugh in there with the acts on Saturdays as well - so an all-round great place to go in Wolverhampton...

Absolute joke the door staff dont know the difference between designer shoe & trainers ...also a entry fee is a complete joke paying £5 to go into a pub/bar that not even in the centre of town

Having a mixed type venue [gay, st8] never really worked in the past and despite major improvements in equal rights you still get that uneasy feeling. With regard to yesterdays Halloween event, overall it was good, a great mix of people and music to swing the night along. Having a pool table in the main bar area is not a good idea for such events on say a Saturday night as it gets in the way and also attracts the so called st8 guys trying to show of. There were a couple of incidents around the entrance area last night which only the st8 customers were involved in. We still have some way to go before everything's equal!

I went to the white hart wearing sandals, and I took my sandals off at some point in the night and had my feet up on the low table in front of me, hurting no one. I am a man. My wife, next to me also had her shoes off and up on the sofa. As did two ladies on the dance floor. The doorman ordered me to put my shoes on. Not my wife, not the two ladies on the dance floor. Only me. I refused and the doorman returned a few minutes later and swore at me, informing me "I told you to put your F'@@king shoes on!" To which I replied in a similar vein. He then said in was health and safety law that I needed shoes on. It appears this law only apply's to men. As he did not say a word to my wife or the two girls on the dance floor, only to the only man in the building with his shoes off, on a hot summer night in August. I Also have studied health and safety law and know for a fact it does not cover customers in a premises, only employees. And if such a condition is in place for customers, this should be indicated with a sign. Which it is not. It was purely discrimination against a man for something a lady would not even be noticed for, and evidently is not expected to conform to. I expected better from a gay pub. We suspect as the a M-F couple this was discrimination against us. If I had been walking around the place in bare feet, as girls where, then I can understand the concern. But I was simply relaxing, and had slipped my shoes off and put my feet on the table and was enjoying my evening talking to my wife. This completely ruined our evening and this gentleman was nothing short of a foul mouthed bully, trying to pick on people for no other reason that to gratify his ego. I will never set foot, bare or otherwise, in this pub again. Absolute idiots for door men. Vile, foul mouthed and rude.

Ive used this pub a few times over the years and i think the place is cool. Yes its a gay pub so what its the 21st century and im not gay but who cares its a decent pint staff are ace and garentied to have fun. Like me im a nervous person but feel safe around all the locals. I was in there on the 25th jan 13 for a few hours . Had fun

This gay pub takes a far more relaxed approach to its customers than the competition. The new owners are really friendly people too. The music is variable (which is nice on the gay scene) and the Hart is open late (3am) on weekends. £2.50 a pint and selected drinks for £1 blew me away. There is a big young crowd but older people are made to feel more than welcome. Not as cliquey as most gay places are. I found myself talking quite easily to friendly people I didn't even know. The Hart is at the edge of some brown field site which is its only drawback. Inside is nicely decorated however. The toilets were clean when I visited and I noticed that the doorstaff checked them regularly (telling the barman at one point that someone had made a mess - he promptly cleaned it up). All in all, a very pleasant place to visit. It might not be in the best location or have the fanciest decor but the level of customer service is excellent. There is also ample parking across the road and in full view from the pub.

Found this place by pure chance and what a great find. Was visiting with four family members and we all loved the food. Very reasonably priced and generous portions. Highly recommend.

Food is average but I have a major issue with the hygiene. The workers are handing cash/coins with bare hands and then preparing your food with it. Halal food should be prepared in a clean environment with clean hands, your hands are NOT clean if you've been holding coins/notes which harbour bacteria/germs. Dedicate someone to deal with the cash or wash your hands with soap before preparing food. Have respect for yourselves and your customers. You wouldn't serve a guest in your house with dirty hands, so why would you do the same for a paying customer? The Prophet Muhammed (saw) said: "Cleanliness is half of faith".
