Staff extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Delicious food, and really nice atmosphere! Been here multiple times, always the same excellent customer service and great food. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

A group of us ate here & we had a fantastic meal. There is a varied menu to choose from and you can take your own alcoholic drinks. The staff made us feel welcome and we're attentive. One of the best meals I've had for a long time at a curry house. Well worth a visit.

Spot on for a Monday night, very quiet as to be expected but the phone never stopped ringing which speaks volumes, they are busy guys. The food was hot, tasty and came quickly to the table. The price range was spot on and we will definitely be back very soon. Keep up the good work guys.

This is our go to restaurant for when we want a curry! Every time we have the lamb it’s so soft and beautiful 100% recommend.. service over the phone is so helpful.. food is always so so good!

Disgusted with attitude of Manager We always use Spice River, Today we ordered King Prawn Korma £9.50 Chicken Passanda £7.95 & Chicken Tikka Masala £7.95 Sauce, Naan etc fine but 4 prawns for £9.50 5 small bits of chicken in Masala 6 small bits of chicken in Passanda Tubs full of sauce but 4 PRAWNS? less than half a chicken breast in each chicken dish!!! I called to complain, they spoke with chef who stated he puts 8 prawns in & 8 pieces of chicken in each. I asked If believe chef or customer, he said what can we do. I said at least £10 should be refunded from the £41 cost. I was offered £10 off our next order, I explained we wouldn't order again as might get a problem again. The person on phone spoke with manager again but refused to refund £10. I asked If happy for me to leave a bad review & would never use them again & just said thank you. What a rip off, If I sat Inside I would have sent meal back! Customer service shocking, I have been to Spice River many times over 3 years, once before had a problem & used elsewhere but last time was good so ordered again. I have talked with staff inside & been nice chat, so to treat a regular customer like this is shocking & I hope you close down for ripping us off.

Ordered from the website and the food took ages to come and there was some issues with the delivery service, so we had to call two times. The food was okay, the naan was tough, the chips were ok and the Balti had like 5 pieces of chicken in. Food arrived quite cold despite the fact that the place is 6 mins away.

2nd time order and the food hasn't changed. Taste really good and reasonably priced. Ordered online through their website, easy to use ordering page. Only downside was there were no pictures, they should have included this with even a thumbnail. Other than this, all good. Recommended!

Had first curry from here tonight food was very nice tasty and temp was perfect. There was one thing that let it down was that the tikka masala that I ordered only had 4 pieces of chicken in so portions need to be a bit bigger. Other then that I will be be back very soon to try other things on the menu like the special nann they do

It was super expensive with super small portions- there were only 3 pieces of meat in beef nihari and tawa lamb. I will never recommend this place.

Really nice and clean, food very tasty and friendly staff, have been here quite a lot, always a great time, however recently returned to find soft drinks no longer allowed to be bought in by yourself, whilst I dont mind purchasing the soft drinks here, I did feel a little ripped off, it was almost £4.00 for a large coca cola, this was poured from 2 cans of pop,, so I felt this to be rather expensive, its not as if they have pumps to maintain, also my glass didn't completely empty the two cans, but I was not offered the remainder of which I had paid for. So yes, great night, great food, great service, but really don't like being ripped off for the drinks, which I have to have as I'm the driver of our group, cheaper to bring your own alcohol. Sorry gents at spice river, not your fault, it's a management issue.

Having eaten in the restaurant I was worried about trying a delivery from there as they never are quite as good and I was worried it would put me off returning, I should not have been worried at all, I have probably just eaten the best delivered Indian food ever, and i’ve had a few lol Well done to Spice River, there are soooo many average to poor offerings locally but these lot have nailed it, hope the quality continues.

A very clean and well maintained restaurant the staff we're very polite and professional. We ordered over 15 dishes and they all were served at the same time. The food looked great and tasted even better 👍👍👍

Excellent quality of food and good service

I don't remember being charged for poppadoms and relish they are normally complimentary. Enjoyed my meal, went with quite a large party so service was a little slow but understood. No ice for drinks or to keep our drinks cool. A little annoying but no major issue. All in all a good meal would eat there again if couldn't find any thing better.

Very clean, the atmosphere was very pleasant music at a nice relaxing pace, nicely decorated with nice relaxing lighting. The staff Midge and James were very friendly and professional and paid attention to detail especially with our request, everything we asked for we got, the food was hot when served and tasted really good, we also had a takeaway for our daughter and she said the food was of good standard. We will return and hope others read our review and give Spice River a try and enjoy their own experience.

Decent Indian restaurant, good food, lovely staff. Take your own booze.

Whilst i was pleased with the level of service, the food was really disappointing. It lacked any flavour and tasted insipid. I whilst the containers are large the contents doesn't have alot of meat in them. I had the chicken tikka and it was swimming is sauce but only had 6 pieces of chicken in it...why? The bhaji's were nice but I didn't bother to eat the naan so won't comment on them. This was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time and had to throw the tikka away. I think it's time to find a new indian takeaway.

The only "classic" sit down restaurant worth visiting in the local area. With the influx of Nepalese & Indian bar a grills. Broadening of the taste buds and standards. It's the only restaurant that is comparable. Take your own drink, good food and service. What more can you ask? I wouldn't reccomend it, if it wasnt good.

Mij and the boys have done a wonderful job turning this outdated place back to life!! Honestly have been using spice river for at least a year and not a bad word to say. Tremendous, some of the best lamb chops I have ever had and the Tandoori Mixed grill is to die for!! such a friendly team and make you feel very welcome and at home. Can’t wait to go back.

Was there today because wanted to try something new and have to say am VERY disappointed. Price very expensive Portion EXTREMELY small Definitely other restaurants serve better/appropriate portions at lower prices!!! Wouldn't recommend neither go again!!

Very friendly waiters and excellent service. Menu is very good, all the popular regular dishes catered for and some very tempting specials. Difficult choices as so much selection. No licenced bar. Prices also very reasonable. My kids are fussy eaters but when we take them they love the food.

We visited restaurant last night on a neighbours recommendation we were not disappointed. The food was excellent beautifully presented utterly delicious . The menu with both traditional and house specials is extensive. Good selection of seafood dishes too the rice dishes were gorgeous fluffy and extremely tasty and authentic. Staff were helpful and attentive we had a lovely evening if your a foodie certainly a hidden little gem. We will certainly be returning again thank you for a wonderful experience.

First time going here since Ranga Mati closed down… I must say it was a delight! Habib who looked after our table for the night was an amazing member of their team. He made us feel relaxed, comfortable and engaged at the same time. We were big fans of Ranga Mati, so naturally we were a little worried about the food taste and quality as we’ve never been here before - however, to our delight the food from starters to the special dessert tasted absolutely banging - we 100% recommend Spice River - will certainly be back very soon… Keep up the good work

Been here tonight for the first time. Staff were lovely and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The food was so beautiful and tasty. The prices were very reasonable too. Well worth a visit. We will be back, that's for certain.

Sorry I have to disagree with other reviews, ordered a takeaway this evening and the garlic, chilli bhoona went in the bin, it had a weird taste that wasn't pleasant. Onion bhajis were lovely but that's about the only thing we liked, tandoori mixed grill was poor and the vegetable samosas were tasteless, unfortunately won't be returning

A rare Sunday night out for us. It was naturally a bit quiet however we both had an excellent meal. This and very friendly service made it a very pleasant experience. We even enjoyed the music!

Excellent food which was prepared and presented on a hot skillet. The new Spice River is now a great relaxing and comfortable environment and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Couldn't fault the food. Generous portions, hot and flavoursome. I was recommended by a family member and would like to share this post. Worth the visit and definitely will be back.

Very nice meal in here and very friendly staff

Meal was fab, staff very well mannered and gave us time to choose our food without any pressure for times limits. We stayed over 3 hours and not once did they make us feel like we had to leave. Will defo be eating there again. Keep up these standards guys

First night out in 18 months was totally overshadowed by flat pop rubbery chicken and a completley frozen dessert that even the waiter couldnt remove the spoon from..... 2 out of 3 of us have been up all night being sick......safe to say we wont be going here again !

I called these up with 10 mins notice asking for a table of 4. On a Saturday night an I know they were busy but there went out their way to fit us in. We were here for the night only as are from Essex and on a works trip. Fantastic service by all members of staff. The food was outstanding and the whole evening was just the best. I can't recommend this venue enough to anyone looking to eat a lovely curry with a really nice atmosphere. Thank you very much for your kindness and hospitality. If I could of given you more than 5 stars I would of. Hannah x

Food is delicious and always on time. Have to say though, I'm a bit disappointed with the samosas. Very dry, bland and obviously bought ready made in bulk. Come on Spice River - home made samosas would be amazing!

Picture this.. your working away staying in a hotel, gagging for a bosting curry. You order your food and it hits you.. how will i eat it? Its lockdown, the hotel restaurant is closed and they are unable to provide a plate or cutlery. I ring up the curry house (Spice River) and tell them my dilemma. The guy on the phone says I got you man "you've got to enjoy your food". He shouldn't do it but he did it anyway and placed some of their silverware in with my order. Absolute life saver going above and beyond to ensure that I enjoyed my food! And as for the food.. the curry was absolutely top notch! Had myself some Arabian Rice to go with it which I have never experienced before and it was bloody delicious! Would definitely recommend it. Will 100% be ordering again if im ever back in the area and cannot recommend this Indian enough!

This is twice we have had a curry from here and its lovely, can't wait for it to open so we can sit in. Always still hot when been delivered, u fined when u have a curry there always grease on the top but not here, all fresh and tasty. The young lad in there I would say he the gaffer he nice and friendly too.

Just tried here for the first time, The food is unbelievable! We normally travel around 5 mile for a decent curry but we don't need to now. Great to have a decent indian restaurant on our doorstep! Nice lads in there too! Keep it up!
