Very nice mixed grill great service and lovely atmosphere but probably not worth the wait if you’re not willing to wait on a Friday or Saturday night.

Delicious food - tender chicken and lamb, light fluffy naan - with great unobtrusive service in a busy pub atmosphere.

Came here with the family and we are really pleased with the food. Food was absolutely delicious, staff are very attentive and friendly plus the prices are good for a big family. My boys rate it 10/10. We will definitely be returning, thank you for a wonderful meal.

This place never fails me. I've been to so many Indian mixed grill places and Desi yew tree by far has to be the best Indian food I've had in wolverhampton. The food is just delicious. I could not fault this place.

Insanely incredible food (our butter chicken was unreal and our mixed sizzler appropriately came audibly sizzling and steaming hot), very reasonably priced and with a good atmosphere. Football is also shown. Great selection of pints too. Worth coming far and wide for!

What a great place, and some great food too. A little crowded, but that is what makes the atmosphere. Service is second to none, and staff are great. It's an excellent place to dine.

Really good food. Mix grill was good, lamb chops and kebab was excellent. Definitely recommend and come back when in town.

Myself and a friend had a really nice meal and a pint here last night. We were made to feel welcome at the bar and it was busy even though it was early, always a good sign. The food was about 15 mins to come out and was very nice. Overall the experience was nice and the price was pretty good. A nice find of a relatively hidden gem. We are back over Wolverhampton next March, and we already said this will be our first stop on arrival. Well done Desi yew tree, highly recommend 👏

Great venue, went to host a quiz there, sadly no takers but could not fault the staff.

Came with family was recommending by a friend. Friendly atmosphere. Great service. The food was tasty.The mix grill was very tasty and a decent portion. Only disappointment was that the curry portions were small. Lot of sauce instead of a couple of extra pieces. Considering the prices of the curries you would think they still make huge profit on each dish. Apart from that it was a injoyable experience. I hope they take this constructive feedback positively as a returning customer they would not lose out for the sake of lesser portions.

Definetly the best Indian restaurant in Wolverhampton! The staff are very welcoming and accommodating! They go above and beyond for their guests to make sure they have a good experience all while offering very efficient service and a relaxing atmosphere. The food was delicious! Very flavourful and juicy! I highly recommend the Mixed Grill as the flavours are unbelievable. Some of the best chicken wings i’ve ever had! The portion sizes are more than enough, very filling and worth the price.

We had a brilliant time at Desi Yew Tree following a recommendation! The food was absolutely amazing - such depth and flavour - some of the best desi food we have ever had. There was a small error with our dish and the staff were quick to rectify it and also gave us a drink on the house. We ordered Butter Paneer, Daal Makhani and a Large Sizzler - the lamb chops were particularly great and the butter paneer was heavenly - we were absolutely stuffed. For £50 between two, we got all this, a pint and a soft drink - an absolute bargain! The pub was nicely busy and it was great to be able to watch the football on our own personal screen alongside. In short, an absolute gem and we cannot wait to go back to what I imagine is a Wolverhampton institution.

Found this place by pure chance and what a great find. Was visiting with four family members and we all loved the food. Very reasonably priced and generous portions. Highly recommend.

We visited as a spontaneous teatime treat. Friendly welcome on arrival & seated promptly. The menu had a great selection, and our food was brilliant. We will be returning & recommending to friends & family.

First time here with my friend as she has been a couple of times and recommended it. It's a place of mixed culture which was lovely to see, old and young too. The food was absolutely superb, best Korma I've ever had, very friendly and welcoming staff, great service. I think this is our go to place now for our catch ups. Definitely recommended 😊

The walk from town isn't exactly glamorous, but it's worth every step. The team have decked the place out in an industrial style. It's nice that the kitchen is on show too. The mixed grills are decent, the nanns are fluffy, but the star of the show is the keema with chicken. Nice job. Seriously, check it out.

Was amazing really enjoyed the food. Walked in and was very busy but still managed to get a table. Food was amazingly good and all fresh. Couldn't eat it all so took some home. Staff were really friendly. See you soon Desi Yew Tree 🙂

Heard about the pub for a long time and the food and service is about as good as you'll get in Wolverhampton Food is cheap for the quantity Food is freshly cooked and you can see the chefs making the food while you're sat down. All the food is amazing but the naan breads and the tandoori meats are spot on Beers are also cheap compared to other pubs in the area. Parking is on the street

Went here with a big group and we were well accommodated. First time I had been and it looked different to the places I'm used to going but somewhat quirky. Tvs at most of the tables for if you're watching football etc. Friendly helpful staff. The good was stunning to be honest. The vegetarian grills and the curry were really tasty would go again.

First time visiting here and as it’s become best in Wolverhampton we just had to come and try it. Omg food is amazing best Indian food I’ve had in ages, and the sizzlers are out of this world and great portion sizes. My partner wanted the mix tikka masala which they don’t usually do but the chef agreed to do it for him. This needs to be on the menu according to my partner. They deserve there reward in my eyes. 👀 🥘 💯‼️👌🏻❤️

Lovely amazing keema rice and crispy wings, salt and chilli prawns my husband who only eats fish said they were the best he's ever tasted, fish curry was delicious, my only criticism was that the potatoes would be lovely if like the pic on the menu and dry fried with spices and onions I'm not a fan of sweet sauces, but I won't let it takeaway from the fact everything else was amazing, my new fave place I'd have to say for me it beats the Bradford Arms so 5 stars from me..its a little off the track so I would imagine to find it someone would have to recommend it like they did for us, but I've already told my grown kids and best mate about it..

We hadn't been for a while and decided to go there for our anniversary. I was so disappointed with the food and portion size. Still, friendly and helpful staff, but the food is a no for me. Sadly, we won't be returning

Curry’s are a disgrace , too much sauce and very low meat and some off meat from grill , uncooked onions and base.. looks like change of cheff. Should have tried the grill. Very pricy

Have been here a few times and the food has always been great. You pay for food and drinks at the bar and there isn’t table service. The surroundings are quite prosaic and it is more of a pub serving food than a restaurant although, as I said, food is very good. It can get packed and you can only pre-book for larger groups. Food prices very reasonable and they try to cater for everyone.

Great place for some tasty sizzling grills. Always share a large grill with Naan, Fries and Massala Sauce. Never had a bad meal. And everyone I have recommended all say the same. 😀

Big group of us met up for my sons birthday, all the food was amazing, staff are lovely and there's always a well stocked bar, prices are really reasonable too, well worth a visit. Highly recommend Petes Special curry and the special naan.

Popped in whilst solo travelling for a gig in town. Happy to report this is A+ grade British Indian style food. The area is a bit post-industrial/slightly run down style but don't be put off, inside it's a glorious pub/curry house combo with tons of space and absolutely amazing food. Had a lamb madras, naan, chilli chicken starter and a Cobra for just under £30 and everything was god-tier delicious and service and vibes were great. Would be in here all the time if I was local!

Been in tonight, had small grill and masala chips, pint of Cobra, both food and service were excellent, been coming here 11 years and always made to feel welcome, see you next time!

Superb all round we were really made to feel welcome. Tried a few different drinks and they were all good pints at a really fair price. The food was another level out of this world both thimes we ate here. It gets 10/10 on both occasions simple as that. Perfection end of story. 👌👍👏👏👏👏

On a trip to see some bands around the corner we stumbled on this place. Friday night we just had some drinks and were made to feel very welcome indeed. So Saturday we turned up for food before the gig. It was absolutely stunning what we had and again we were made totally welcome what a great place to be. Sunday back again a few hours before the the gig this timw upstairs. Totally relaxed food ordered fantastic. When the food arrived we had seen nothing like it pure scrumptiousness. It was out of this world nothing else to say really just superb and at fantastic value for money. I only wish it was back where live in the norheast 😭😭😭. I will be back hopefully 🤞🤞🤞one day.

Visited while working in the area. The pub is quite hard to find in an industrial estate but at least it's not pretentious. The food was decent; there was plenty of it and it was cheaper than most Desi pubs. I'd definitely go back if I can.

Friend and I popped in, not knowing it existed. Place is modern and friendly inside. Staff were welcoming, Upstairs seating, food was nice and reasonable price.

Came here for a mixed grill, good portion size and flavourful platter. 2 of us shared a large mixed grill and we still took some home! Tasty madras sauce and decent selection of lager. Footy was on, nice vibe.

The food and service here is great. Food is really fresh and cooked to spice you like. Good veggie options as well as meat platters. Staff are really friendly and efficient which is often under appreciated but they were all lovely!

First time here though been meaning to try it for a while as it's been recommended by a few people. Really liked the decor. Staff very friendly and food delicious and plentiful. Only downside is they don't take bookings for 2 people so you do have to take your chance on walking in and potentially having a wait but we went early and got seated straight away.

Brilliant food and really good service. They don’t take reservations but it’s a bit place and there were plenty of spare tables, even on a Friday night.

While I had high hopes upon hearing positive reviews, there were a few things that fell below my expectations. Firstly, the mixed grill I ordered was somewhat rubbery and arrived in a bag of juice which was unappetizing. Additionally, the fish pakora was undercooked, and the garlic and cheese naan lacked flavor. While the buttered paneer was pleasant, it only contained six pieces of paneer and tasted more like a korma than buttered paneer. I believe that the restaurant could make some changes to enhance their food quality and overall customer experience. For example, they could focus on improving the texture and flavor of their dishes and ensuring that they are cooked to perfection. I hope that this feedback is helpful and that the restaurant can take it on board to make some positive changes."

Very disappointed. Not what I was expecting 😕

I must say that I was rather disappointed with the meal I had here recently. I know it usually has rave reviews, but my veggie sabji was not at all good. It was obvs a bag of frozen veg, hardly cooked, in a dubious sauce, not authentic in any way. I have had this dish several times and I know what it should be like. I did mention it to the waiter, who did ask if I wanted another one (why would I). I also thought the portions were rather small. Maybe they give more attention to the meat dishes, they do seem to be more fashionable these days, who knows. I was really looking forward to going too, so wasn't looking for problems. I will say that the nan bread was particularly nice, and also the rice was good. The pub itself looks great.
