White Bridge Hotel in Highland

I saw this online and it looked very cool and the food looked amazing. We arrived, in the middle of nowhere. I questioned going in. But my nephew assured me if it wasn’t the same place we could leave. OH.MY.GOD. It was the same place. This is an absolute case of do NOT judge a book by its cover. The inside is SOOOOO cool. The staff are amazing. The food portions are huge… and absolutely sublime. There are games to play. 100% cannot recommend this place highly enough. Worth the detour.

Just had our second meal this week at this lovely Highland hostelry. The food was excellent, service exceptional. Quirky decor. If ever in the area or planning to visit best to book ahead since we were lucky to book a table.

This is a great find. Quint, food terrific. The service was excellent. The staff were very helpful. Beautiful drive from Fort Augustus. If are visiting Loch Ness make sure you visit this restaurant.

The Whitebridge was quirky and cosy. A welcoming and homely hotel that was nicely quiet in the residents rooms and lounge despite being fairly full, but come the evening the restaurant was busy with a happy atmosphere combined with excellent service and good food. Families, singles, couples and parties all enjoying themselves. Very friendly and efficient staff who also did an excellent continental breakfast and kindly filling flasks for the day. Cooked breakfast could have been ordered as extra but the continental was plenty with freshly cut fruit, cheeses and hams. Our dogs were very welcome everywhere throughout the stay(they are well behaved) for a very small charge, which is most refreshing. Many hotels now add a considerable extra fee for dogs and the Whitebridge was very fair, thankyou !! It was a thoroughly enjoyable place to stay which I recommend to anyone who values originality.

Fantastic 3 course Easter Sunday lunch had at the Whitebridge Hotel. We were staying nearby on holiday and had booked in advance so we had somewhere to go for a nice Easter meal. The staff were very attentive, the decor and ambience of the restaurant brilliant and the food was sublime!!!!! Truly the best meal we have had in a very long time!!!

A lovely friendly place in beautiful surroundings. Perfect for dog walks and relaxing which is what we wanting. The food was great we’re not big drinkers but you could drink or not drink. such a lovely vibe. The staff was so helpful and lovely and made effort to make us and our dog welcome. Got to be the best pub food in a 35 mile radius.Had a smashing lamb pasanda which was on their specials for the day. Not my first meal here as the food is just too good.Good atmosphere at the bar too with some of the local young lads which were very polite and helpful when trying to plan out our travels for the best day.Lesley and Bella very welcome along with the rest of the staff.Will definitely be back and thank you again.

Visited the hotel on our first night at Wildside lodges. Staff were super friendly and made us feel so welcome. The food was so delicious that we just booked the rest of our evening meals with these guys. Loved the quirky look of the interior and the music was fab! We’ll definitely be back.

These are the perfect hostesses. They think of every detail snd are very hospitable. The room was gorgeous and the whole place is full of quirky details that make it such fun. The food is always superb with a great menu. There is always a fire lit when it’s cold and the blankets on every chair are so quaint. I love the drawing room and the bar the most. Cannot think of a single reason not to visit as often as possible. Sunday lunch is superb and the staff so friendly and accommodating. Definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

Lovely surroundings, staff are very attentive and the food was amazing on both times that I booked for an evening meal, even though this was my first holiday in Loch Ness, the staff were all friendly and even though both times the restaurant/bar was busy I never waited long in between courses. As for the food it’s the best I’ve had in a long time, each course was full of flavour, looked as good as it tasted, would highly recommend, booking is advisable given how busy it can get

Stayed Friday night in November 2023. Superb 3-course evening meal, excellent cooked breakfast, lovely hotel room with superb scenic view to the hills. Attentive and friendly staff in a hotel with lots of character.

There are not enough good words to describe the Whitebridge hotel and restaurant! The atmosphere is always fantastic, the food is to die for (especially the Sunday roasts) But I also particularly like the burger selection too. The staff are always super helpful and attentive. Awesome selection of drinks to choose from. They do live music nights and other events too. The decor throughout the place is awesome, I feel like there is always something cool to look at on the walls. We are local to the area so we’ve never stayed in the hotel as guests, so can’t comment from true experience but everyone that I have spoken with that has stayed, have said it’s fantastic. Thanks again guys, we’ll be seeing you again in the not to distant future

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stopped at. There is not anything to complain about. Anyone visiting Loch Ness or Inverness has to stop here. Even the drive to the hotel was enchanting.

My hubby and I stayed here for a night and ate here. Wow, the food was amazing. We both had the Cullen skink which was full of smoked fish and very tasty. I had the chicken balmoral which had a plethora of wonderful flavours. My husband had the special - which was beautiful salmon. The variety on the menu was excellent. Well worth a visit and thoroughly recommend it.

What a lovely individual and quirky hotel. A warm welcome complete with assistance to set up a phone call. Spacious room with en suite - because I’d booked late I got the last room which was the family room. Comfortable bed and warm room. Delicious freshly cooked food with a good choice but not too much choice. Warm residents lounge with a proper fire. Good choice of foods for breakfast and friendly and efficient checkout. Oh and dogs are welcome - each dog has a blanket to lie on and is offered biscuits.

We were booked in for five nights with breakfast by my hunting outfitter. The hunt was only one day and I brought my wife with to travel Scotland over twelve days. The hotel building is in great shape for its age and very cozy. Its location is off of the beaten path, but not too far away from things to do and see. The estate I hunted was six minutes away. The owners and staff are all super nice and genuinely care about you having a nice stay. But the best part is THE FOOD! This is not, “pub grub.” This is a couple of levels above that. Almost gourmet 😋! And the bar/pub offerings are also delicious. If you don’t make dinner reservations during the main season you probably won’t get a table. Even outside of the main season this place is usually full. The locals love it here too 😉.

The food was amazing and decently priced despite being in the middle of nowhere, the staff were so friendly, the decor throughout was so quirky; various musical instruments hanging from the ceilings, posters of all descriptions, vintage telephones etc (I especially loved the ladies bathroom - done vintage style and the gents bathroom had kegs for urinals!) and to top it off we had a great view of the 'Highland coo tree' loved it altogether - Thanks to all the staff there for thoroughly enjoyable experiences 10/10!

Truly a hidden gem of a hotel in the Highlands! Staff are friendly, efficient and just great fun. The food was just amazing - highly recommend the Chilli Pot! Such a quirky place to stay in terms of decoration, with so much character. Bar is cosy, great music and service is quick and the team work so well together. The scenery is amazing, and lots to do and see, or you can chill is the residents lounge. Highly recommend.

My Sunday roast was a narrow slice of rare beef in a soup plate pool of watery gravy, sitting on tenderstem brocolli. For me, the brocolli was the best thing about the meal. The expected accompanying root veg, that is, what there was of them, were three small pieces of potato sitting in the gravy and a small portion of julienned carrot & turnip. A perfect spot to experience dinner and drinks at a local/rural bar and restaurant in the highlands. The ambiance, selection of whiskeys and ales as well as the freshly prepared foods were all excellent. The staff were helpful, warm and fun. No regrets!
