Something different, in the lanes in Brighton. Good food, good portions and jazz music in background. Someone has taken a lot of thought to create a unique restaurant. I didn’t see one person on their mobile phone, unless it was to take a picture of food. Good choice if vegetarian as well. Good atmosphere. We are coming back. Thank you.

What you don’t find out on their website, you can bring your dog and they have a dog menu! I was looking forward to this as the menu was completely different to any other restaurant in Brighton. It did not disappoint and was a perfect Saturday afternoon. The service was excellent and very attentive by both our servers. The bigos hunters stew was succulent and the flavours were incredible. The schnitzel was a bit overcooked in parts but didn’t really affect my enjoyment of the dish. Special thanks to the waitress for arranging a side portion of sauerkraut for me. My partner had the tuna and apparently, it was amazing. Our friends had the burgers and needless to say, nothing left. Just a small piece of feedback and is a personal viewpoint is to keep the parmesan to a minimum and of course add sauerkraut portion to the menu. Always a must for Germanic/ Eastern European dishes. We will definitely be back as there are quite a few more items I would like to try but the whole ambience of the place is fantastic.

I booked Whitchez as it looked a bit different and so did the menu. So glad I did. The food is excellent and it's served by wonderful staff that obviously care as much about the restaurant as the head chef. The whole meal was also very reasonable price wise and you get proper portions. We shared starters of pear and goats cheese salad and the Roma garlic bread. Both were fantastic - best garlic bread ever. My husband had Himmel un Aad (German sausage and mash) which was delicious, the mash so buttery it tasted like it had cheese in it. I had the rosti with jalapeños , onion and Polish sausage, also delicious. Sadly we didn't have time to have dessert as we were off to the theatre but next time we definitely will. 100% recommend everything about this restaurant, we will be booking again the next time we're in Brighton.

Can't wait for the opening of the new Whichez restaurant in the Lanes. Really missed the food. Always a great experience all round, friendly and good value. It will be interesting to see the new menu. I hope it's close to what they produced before. It was always difficult to choose as I had so many favourites.

This restaurant is the most fun place to go in Brighton. Great food, a vibrant atmosphere and the people are just lovely. Book because it is small and gets full and don't miss as it is everything you could want for a great evening. They even serve early so it is possible to do something afterwards. I love them.

Great bar, super cheap drinks and a nice buzz being right in the centre of town. Large outdoor area with heaters for the winter. Live music inside is always pretty good and the bar staff are absolutely lovely!
