This shop had different owners, unfortunately closed during covid, the food was authentic and tasty, I would eat here on a regular basis. Now, I ordered a magic bag from too good to go. Took a chance as I know they have new owners, very disappointed and a little fustrated in what was presented. Rice and peas were burnt, chicken was tasteless and tasted like yesterday's meat, which to my surprise when I was waiting I saw them place chicken in a container which I presumed would be frozen or placed in the fridge for the next day. I do not agree with this, especially when you're promoting fresh cooked food. Considering I paid £8 for food, there was not much variety either the soup had no soup in and was tasteless also. Over the year's I have seen many caribbean restaurants open and close, and many immitated by those that have no Caribbean background or experience of Caribbean cooking, this can have a negative impact on Caribbean food shops that are authentic and cook their food with love. The food I purchased was not authentic Caribbean food. Educate yourself in flavours and cooking processes. Disappointed, there aren't many Caribbean takeaways in my area that serve good food. To end my review I will say that the man who served me was very polite and good on service, sadly food isn't high standard.

Food top notch as always but really good customer service too - weird error on just eat’s end meant delivery was confusing but they picked up straight away when I called as well as ringing back to check it was sorted - I missed the second call because we were eating by then! 😄

Yo the food is bussing man. Got a goat curry jalot rice. Big portion, hot, arromic, good for the price.

Ordered 4 jerk chicken meals which turned out to be mushy rice with some shredded chicken which tasted nothing like jerk and very salty. All 4 of us felt the same and all went to waist. If you can't cook the dish then don't sell it!

It's just a shop so no atmosphere but the food was delicious the best I've had in year's, the meat was tender & juicy with decent sizes of meat. For once I felt like I got my moneys worth, will definitely be eating from there again .

Havent orderd in a long and was looking forward to my meal I ordered sweet potato chips with the meal. None never arrived, they don't provide sweet potatoes chips even though on the menu, advised did send normal chips which wasn't in the sealed bag. However the food itself I couldn't fault

I frequently order from this place n the rest of the meals have always been great but today ordered the oxtail and rice and peas and it was so so bland the oxtail had no gravy just pretty dry as if it was boiled.the rest of the food was nice and I usually have a good experience here

Ordered Chicken curry, got curry goat!

Ordered off Too Good To Go app, travelled half an hour to pick up the food, only for the place to be closed. We arrived 5 minutes before scheduled pick up time and were the first ones there. Waited 20 minutes. Other people also arrived who had ordered off the app and went away. Tried ringing the number on Google and no answer. Google also states it opens till 10pm and we arrived at 8:55pm. Had to get a refund from the app, and also went home with no dinner.

Good delivery time, all arrived hot. Fresh and tasty food. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the small, sharp pieces of bone found in the curry goat, but would definitely order from here again 👍

A mockery to the community.Most vile Caribbean food in Manchester tastes like re used oil. I regretfully had the oxtail it gave me a bad belly and had no flavour. This place is a mockery to the culture and Caribbean community. Don’t bother

I've come out my calorie intake for the night to try out the food.... come on everything was saucy it come wet and excited , chicken fell off like it was in love with me the rice was covered in absolute sauce power , the plantin perfect, then we get to my comfort food Mac and cheese I feel like Bruce from Matilda I'm so so happy that i did a little dance ... thanks guys of to scran the rest

Went in around 7:30pm, both the lady and man were so nice and friendly, I paid £14 for a big box of Peppered Steak and Jallof with vegetables, salad, coleslaw and 2 desserts, well worth you’re money and food is fresh and tasty! Would 100% recommend, can’t wait to try the Mac and Cheese next time :)

The food is delicious. I bought rice and peas with peppered steak and jerk chicken with curried gravy. Both had coleslaw and steamed veg, an original fried dumpling and a sweet cornmeal dumpling. Great value for money, large portions and well worth the 7-mile round trip. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu 😊.

Ordered a Lamb patty, a dumpling, peppered steak with rice and peas and ox tail and butter bean with chips, food was delivered quickly & still warm. food tasted absolutely amazing, really flavoursome, fresh and home cooked. Will defiantly be ordering again in the future can’t wait to try more dishes! highly recommend!

I ordered jollof rice with curry goat. I received plain rice with curried beef. Not even close to what I ordered. Taste wise: not the best☹️. Not ordering again.

Sweet curry fried prawns were terribly salty unfortunately, ruined them for me. Soup and everything else I ordered fabulous!

The chicken was good fried chicken. I ordered sweet potato fries but got normal ones. The steamed veg was a bit of cabbage and a very few carrots, but nice enough.

A fantastic great value place were foods cooked from scrathch with love the name matches my experince great flavours we normaly have goat curry and peas and rice plus for the vegans in our family jackfruit but today we tried the new vegan bread fruit curry with some sweat potatoe fritters. Friendly staff and great music.

Order made in error and woman said it was cancelled but delivered over £50 of food to wrong address. Rang back and fobbed off saying I can’t cancel over phone . Best Caribbean food I’ve had in a long time from take away. Really lovely size, delivered warm and loads of meat! Well worth the money.

Sadly I made an order that wasn’t delivered at all. Just Eat app status said Delivered and I was still waiting. I rang the Restaurant who said order was collected by driver and I should contact Just Eat but there is no immediate contact with Just Eat just email… anyway still no order so I’m expecting a full refund. Shame as delivery usually good and food is good too

Was really impressed with the quality. I like more meat on my oxtail than was provided but it tasted great. I ordered a chicken thigh to get free delivery and it was a boneless breaded fried chicken thigh, very tasty too. It wasn't clear from the description on the menu what it was so hope this helps other customers know

Used to always love salmons chicken back in the day and theirs is a good substitute lovely flavours not greasy. Plenty too. Hubbys goat was fab two cleared plates for the second time and it won't be the last

I stumbled across this fabulous place and wasn’t disappointed. Being vegan I was able to have the deep fried Jackfruit with Jollof rice. It was delicious with just the right amount of spice. I also took home some patties, Breadfruit and Callaloo, Curried Jackfruit and Mixed Veg. All reasonably priced. I’ll definitely be back very soon!

We’ve ordered from here a few times and the food quality is always fantastic. The portions are always very generous and the food arrives nice and hot. On time with delivery every time, would definitely recommend and order from again.

Last time I'll go here unless I want to tip my meal in the bin again. The entire beef dish was gristle and connective tissues. No meat what so ever. All the beef was thrown. A total waste of money. Plantain was a decent portion, but meat.....nahhhhh. If you keep serving this type of food, don't expect to be in business for very long guys. Was 1 stamp card away from a discount....well you can keep it. Last time I'll go here

Let’s say it’s overpriced and certainly not at the standards of authentic Jamaican cuisine,it’s no Kool Running’s.

Ordered before 19:30. Was due between 20:20 and 20:40. At 21:00, contacted the restaurant and they said it was on its way and would be with me by 21:30. Shortly after 21:30, I try to contact them again and find I'm completely unable to do so -- the restaurant won't answer the phone despite repeated calls and JustEat won't allow me to attempt the automated update request feature. I request a late refund using the tools JustEat provides -- still no word on that (assuming it's being ignored). At 22:05, I decide to cancel the order and request a full refund. I'm genuinely seconds away from completing the process on my phone when the door buzzes (must have been about 22:10). The food finally arrives, almost THREE HOURS after I place my order. Frankly a completely unacceptable wait time exacerbated by no communication from the restaurant and not being able to contact them. The delivery driver literally doesn't speak a word to be. He hands me the food and leaves. No apology -- and I'm being extremely friendly and polite for the record, just saying "Hi" and "thanks" -- not even getting into the wait time. The food was fairly decent so it's a real shame that I'll never be ordering from them again.

I have ordered from this restaurant a few times. The rice and peas is always exceptional, however the fish, and fry chicken is very salty. The oxtail is ok, but for the price, the amount you get is tiny, the same with the curry goat.

Food was dangerously good, holy moly!!!! One of the orders was wrong, and although it was annoying....what I had was still absolutely gorgeous, so I'm only more excited to return and try even more things. Fantastic....just fantastic!!!!

UPDATE: Ordered a couple weeks ago and unfortunately the chicken split and fish were salty. I've had to downgrade my review. Owner has decided to use my images without asking permission or crediting. On asking him to remove it politely, instead of apologising he just decided to call me "toxic" and still has the images up. I'm a small blogger/reviewer, I don't ask for any money - but at least give credit where it is due by tagging or sharing. His response was dissappointing. It's a shame they think they can treat customers this way.

This place is value and quality. Why would you want to buy food from a restaurant that's spent £5k on a fancy neon sign? Putting money into fancy decor adds no Flava. Owners and staff are lovely.

The food was the best I’ve had in a long time

Went for Too Good to Go and paid £4 for something that's worth £12 according to the app. Was disappointed with the flavours let alone the portion size. It's not something from their menu. It was chicken and a lot of rice with some instant takeaway curry flavour. There was no sign of actual sauce in liquid form so what's the point of giving me a fried dumpling that was super dry? One could argue that the rice and "peas" (barely any) absorbed the sauce but that's interesting because it was supposed to be served fresh and I picked up the order before the arranged time at 5pm (they close at 8pm) and ate it soon after. The flavours were like having a biryani. Nothing Carribbean alike.

Unbelievable. Been on the lookout for a top quality Caribbean place since moving to Reddish and we’ve found it. Ordered the mango & pineapple fish, jerk shredded chicken, plantains and dumplings with the curry goat sauce. EVERYTHING was incredible. I’m going to have to try the curried goat after using it as a dipping sauce for the dumplings and it was so flavoursome. Will be ordering again very soon.

This is my first review ever for food, so please read carefully: It is hands down one of the BEST curry goat and chicken patty i’ve ever had (and this is coming from an indian!). What do you use man, magic? The curry was delicious, and the meat was falling off the bones! It’s like christmas in your mouth! Mate, you just got yourselves a life time customer, don’t mind getting a heart attack from it! FYI i picked up the phone and told them the same after the first bite 😁

Brilliant food: jackfruit was genuinely meaty tasting, the dumplings are huge and delicious, mac and cheese was the best I've ever had, and the jerk gravy is addictive. Lovely friendly staff and huge portions. Can't wait to go back!!

My review is solely based on taste, for which, I cannot blame the restaurant at all. I was one of the last thought the door for the day. The hospitality and friendliness displayed by both owner and staff was second to none. I opted for the peppered steak which with this type of cuisine would have been prepared earlier in the day. By closing time, It was a little stringy yet tough and the sauce had dried a tad. No doubt had I purchased this earlier, I'd be raving. I shall be back soon though guys so keep doing your thing.
