What A Pizza! Shirley in Southampton

Been meaning to try this place for a while and decided to do so with a few friends last night. We were greeted by very friendly staff who were lovely and inviting and very personable. I ordered the Hot Honey pizza which was simply incredible, by far one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Beautiful vibrant, fresh flavours and very generous portion sizes. The beer on tap was very tasty and their homemade Limoncello is a must try. Will absolutely be back again.

Cozy place with nice food and very kind service.

I recently had dinner with my fiancée and was not disappointed, the Pizza they serve is in my opinion the best in Southampton, beautiful peaceful decor, great friendly service. I am sure I will be a regular there. I recommend

I’ve only been able to get a pizza once from this place and it was excellent. TBH I’d have had loads more but this place is so busy they turn off the phone for collection orders, next delivery time available is in 24hrs time. Fair play to these guys, maybe one day I’ll be able to have another one.

A surprise find 🤩 Going to the Mayflower and wanted food first. Found this little place on Google. Very welcoming staff and the pizza was delicious. 😋 Will definitely make another visit.

Very good service, great that is is child friendly, (Kids menu). Pizza could have been a little more cooked maybe, some a little bit wet in the middle, sauces were nice, cocktails were great, there was a little queue for the one toilet they had. Overall we all enjoyed it greatly!

Great friendly staff, excellent espresso martini, and fantastic thin crust pizzas!!! They live up to their name. Also, we had two salads that were amazing. Avocado Salad and Goat Cheese Salad with Raspberry vinegarette dressing. Definitely go back.

This is a lovely pizzeria; super selection of pizza, friendly & chatty staff, great homely atmosphere, child friendly. 5 star rating for sure. We finished off our meal with a couple of Baby Guinness..

Staying locally for one night ready to go on cruise tomorrow. Came across this little gem. Wonderful atmosphere and amazing pizza. Thoroughly recommend. Loved the little bottles of sauce which could be added extra. Will definitely be back- maybe after cruise!

Great choice of menu. Meat platter to start was excellent,cocktails good and pizza could not be faulted. Service was spot on and wine choice was very good. Very relaxed and will be going back.

The Best Pizza in Southampton!!!

A very nice restaurateur with passion, service-oriented, concerned about his guests. We arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. We received our food and were allowed to sit down. The pizza - a dream! Definitely go!!!

Really nice pizza that works well as take out as it does not get soggy. Nice toppings. They have all the classics and some interesting and new combinations.

Came down to Southampton on a stop over and fancied a bite with my boy. Came across this place and it was one of the nicest pizzas we ate. I make my own sourdough bases so I'm pretty fussy how my crust tastes but it manages to get the balance right between crispy, fluffy on the inside and a bit of chew. The apple and cinnamon calzone was great too. I love calzone and perhaps that should be a menu item if I missed it.

Staff are absolutely wonderful, very allergy conscious, and very happy to accommodate. The building isn't really wheelchair accessible but the staff couldn't have been more helpful to me getting around, and the food is fantastic, so it's worth it. Highly recommend, I had a vegan option and the "cheese"is very very good! Nice cocktail menu too.

First time visit after hearing good things. First of all the food - without doubt the best Pizza I've had in this country (I know that is subjective). The service was first class and they were really friendly and attentive. We sat outside and it was a lovely atmosphere (inside and out). Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone.

Genuinely love it - got to know the guys when they started out in the Brass Monkey car park and it’s amazing to see what a brilliant community hub restaurant they have built. Food is great, drink selection is strong (try the cocktails and mocktails), the tiramisu is THE best and above all the service and atmosphere is what makes it. Lucky to have these guys on our door step 🙌 Go. You won’t regret it.

We drove into Southampton after seeing the reviews on this place and were not dissapointed. The pizzas were excellent, really light and with good quality toppings. The owner served us and he was really welcoming and friendly, we wish we lived nearer to come more often!

The most brilliant food and service you could imagine. Even though some tables had been reserved (with good reason) space was still made for us to enjoy our dinner. The food and service was second to none I could not recall any other establishment that was on par with What A Pizza! I would highly recommend the mozzarella and nduja starter as well as the Parma pizza. Great for a date night as well as family or friends meal out. The service was incredible with friendly staff and great food as well. Will 100% be going back next time I’m in Southampton. The reviews don’t lie, you’re missing out if you’re not trying the food here.

What a beautiful little hidden gem I never knew existed so close to me! Easily best pizza in Southampton (and I’ve tried a lot of them). We had the Hot honey and Bianca, both were incredible! Especially with the chilli and garlic sauce made by them! Service was exceptional, really good vibes and extremely friendly. Can really tell they genuinely care about providing a really good quality of service for their customers. We had such a good experience here and left extremely pleased and full! Definitely recommend trying the tiramisu and their current special of chocolate ice cream with pistachio both 10/10! We will be coming back here again and again… and again!

Very busy, so best make sure to book. Food & service outstanding. Great selection of all types of pizzas, as that is all I wanted. I casually noticed plenty of starters & other dishes, but please check menus. Good selection of drinks, & desserts. Prices comparable to other restaurants, but I had a large meat pizza, 2 large glasses of wine, tiramisu, double espresso & large lemoncino for £40👍😊

Tried this place for the first time at the weekend and couldn't fault anything. Lovely cosy atmosphere, great cocktails, every member of staff was friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. We tried the meat platter, grilled halloumi and a couple of the pizzas and everything was delicious with wonderful fresh ingredients. We will definitely be back! Don't hesitate to try this fab local place, worth heading a few minutes out of the main city centre for!

This place is mine and my partner's date spot. We used to come in basically weekly while they were first getting known, we come in less now as it's gotten bussier so now we order. Best pizza in Shirley, best garlic sauce in the WORLD.

I only walked in 5 minutes ago to a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful chilled vibe. Families sat happily munching pizza 🍕 ... I waited for 2 minutes for my takeaway order, we'd played it safe. Margherita and Garlic Bread side.... I commented the restaurant smelt amazing and the server at the bar asked if it was my first time. He knew I'd be back. I didn't know at the time I would bring home pizza perfection. Couldn't recommend these guys more and cannot wait to go back and sample the menu. Incredible. What a Pizza!

Really good pizza. Shame that the Americanism of adding a service charge to the bill had to coincide with this fantastic restaurant. Had this charge not been levied, I would have rated 5 stars.

Thanks too Asia’s recommendation I visited what a pizza and I am very pleased with my experience. The customer service was very good who helped me pick out the best options for me. The food was very good quality and I will definitely be returning.

However, I'm sorry about a vegetarian pizza with raw onions and raw courgettes, it wasn't what I was hoping for, I hope the next one is tastier... but good attention from the owner...
