Had heard good things about this little cafe/shop, so thought we would give it a go. Parking was a bit odd, as we parked outside then saw that there was a requirement to pay via a QR code 🙁 the Chef came out and pointed us in the direction of some free parking, but could imagine it might get tricky at busier times or during an evening pop-up dinner. There were four of us for brunch, we sat upstairs. It is obviously a re-purposed industrial unit, but it was welcoming, nice crockery, some wall art. The waitress couldn’t do enough for us. Two of us had the frittata and two had the Dim Sum. Everyone said how tasty theirs was, and plentiful. Good price. We would definitely go back, and would like to try a pop-up dinner.

Unusual mix of Asian and English bacon, eggs and kimchi. Gunpowder tea from Fortnum and Mason, what could be better? Scrambled eggs were the best I have ever had and better than I can cook myself. Can I have the recipe!

Excellent food and fantastic value. Food options for our toddler and she was given colouring pencils and a book. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

I popped in for some lunch and ordered the tomato tarte, which was vegan. Wow, it was simply divine! This is the first time I'd tried kimchi but it won't be the last. The flavour was outstanding. I adore beetroot so that went down a treat. The tomato's were served warm and bursting with flavour. My mouth is tingling with all the different tastes! Very happy customer and lucky enough to work close by. Thank you :-)

Booked for one of their occasional evening pop-ups, fixed menu was excellent.. fresh, local, perfect seasoning, some lovely subtle touches and very gluten-free friendly. All produced in a very compact kitchen where they also produce their fantastic chilli products which was how we first discovered them about 3 years ago. We definitely back for brunch or lunch or another pop-up.

I'm reluctant to share how incredible Weymouth 51 is. When they get known we'll struggle to get a table. Food is as good as any we've had at any top price restaurant around the world. The chef, his family and staff are wonderful. So I can't believe we have a restaurant of this quality where we live.

We've known & bought David & Mikka's products ever since they started attending Hampshire Farmers' Markets some time ago - Rockfish Oyster Drizzle is perfect with oysters! At last, today, the opportunity to visit the cafe came - the sun was shining & the weather was sweet, as the song goes! What a welcome! & what a wonderful lunch! We elected to sit downstairs, so we could enjoy the action & the team's company. We thoroughly enjoyed our Virgin Bloody Marys - I so want the recipe, but will have to experiment at home tho' as it's a secret! The roast hake, served with perfectly cooked polenta, roasted red peppers, rocket & dressed with extra virgin rapeseed oil & garlic was outstanding! I have to say, we are 'foodies' & particularly enjoy watching acclaimed British fish chefs on TV - but I've never seen any of them produce such an imaginative dish, certainly not for that price, & such generous portion sizes! You have to go to our favourite off-the-beaten-track fish restaurant in Normandy to get comparable food at a similar price. Mikka tried pressing us with a pudding - but we were too full! We'll be booking a hotel for the night of one of the pop-up dinners! And of course, coming back for lunch again & again .....

Okay, I give in… Everyone should know about this fab place (as long as we can still get a table) David, Mikka and Louis run the friendliest, most enjoyable place to eat. The food is delicious - great portions, very well cooked and presented, excellent provenance, and often very inventive. Although their chill-based products come out of this industrial kitchen-cum-cafe the chef’s repertoire is wide and the team’s enthusiasm and love for the food they create and serve shines through. The lunch menu is amazing value, as is the Saturday all-day brunch. The puddings are lush, enough to covert the non-pud brigade. And as for the now-and-then pop-up dinners… They are joyous! If you’re in the vicinity and looking for a great lunch, go and find them. If you’re not in the vicinity, come anyway. Within walking distance of the town and neighbourhoods close by, parking outside. We call it our Day Centre because it makes us feel happy and cared for. And also full.

Hubby had naga chicken and I chose plaice. Every mouthful was perfect and divine. Side dish of kimchi, and waiter let us try fire tonic shots which resulted in our buying a bottle. £25 for lunch for 2 including side dish and coffee. Unlimited iced lemon tea. Had to buy a chilli sauce from the shop before leaving. Chef gave me a box with flourless chocolate cake and cream on the house as I was too full to eat more there. Don’t be put off if you think everything has chilli in it or by the fact you’re eating in an industrial unit, it’s not all chilli by a long way and the cafe is quirky. Lovely friendly staff who offer you tastes of all their fabulous products. 3 dish midweek menu, extensive Saturday brunch menu. Once a month for £35 you can book onto their 5 course evening dinner. Such a nice change to go out for lunch and be served proper nutritious fresh food full of flavour rather than cash n carry nasty pub food. If you are a real foodie seeking a great experience trust me - eat here.

In lockdown, the chilli sauce my Mum sent me from the amazing kitchen of 51 kept my hopes up. They would drop it to her door, waving outside from a distance. Then it would make its way to me in the post. Since then, 51 has opened the kitchen to offer inventive breakfasts, humbly delicious lunches and a supper club (numbers are really limited, so don't get excited!) and my parents who are in their early 70s somehow ended up making a beeline. Dad had kimchi for the first time. LOVES IT! Kombucha apparently is "interesting". Since venturing out, Mum and Dad have experienced the best food they have had in decades. AND as i can't be with them all the time, the owners have gone out of their way to take care of Mum and Dad. Truly, this is a place where it's hard to decide if the flavours are better than the pure goodness of the people who make it. It's just all delicious. Go there.

There is so much to thank David & Mikka for at W51, their imagination, superb cooking, well trained staff, interesting menu, value for money, to name a few. Recommended by my niece we booked for lunch and ate grilled sourdough which came with a dish of butter, not a tiny packet, perfectly cooked onglet with peppercorn sauce & proper chips, a light chocolate cake with the best cream. It was all so good six of us went back the next day for brunch, this time our eating experience included the best crab risotto I really look forward to the next visit.

I went here then found out that they had a new banana, mixed berries and yogurt smoothie. It was delicious for only 4.95!! They also have unlimited iced tea and their sticky toffee pudding was so good that I even had 2 portions. The service is great and the waiter Louis told me all about how they make the sauces to how they started this place. I would really recommend coming here, their coffees are freshly made and the food is delicious.

A wonderful little shop with all types of vintage items and a comfy spot to have tea coffee or hit chocolate. Good cakes too. Thoroughly recommend

I'm so glad I looked this place up because it's the sort of place I love but I'd have dismissed it because of where it is in a bland looking unit on a business estate. Plenty of parking here, outdoor seating, a mezzanine and takeaways. We ate in - delicious cheese scone (to remember my Mum by), roasted veg pasty, Baboo ice-cream, and the tastiest decaf mocha I've had in a long term - maybe ever. All for around £20. Loved it.

A wonderful welcome for our 1st visit to the veterans hub. And cheesy, hammy, eggy on the menu too. We will certainly be back to support the charity again.
