Sandbar in Weymouth and Portland

First time here, just popped in for lunch with my husband, we had cappuccinos and tuna melts which were delicious, would of given 5 stars instead of 4 but being Italian i would of preferred the cappuccino made with milk, but still recommend this place

This place offers an amazing local coffee blend and the coffee itself is prepared professionally and with love. I had the haloumi-avocado sandwich which was absolutely amazing. Prices are fair; the service is warm and friendly and leaves nothing to be desired. Do come here when you visit Weymouth!

What a lovely place ! Popped in here with my dad and we had a ale and cocktail. Dad had the sardine bruschetta and I had the Reuben without bread , made into a salad. Very accommodating and friendly place.

I just left this sweet well-appointed cafe where I found everything to be just perfect! The food was delicious, the service great and the price was good! My husband and I shared a Reuben and a California Chicken sandwich which were both wonderful and each sandwich was accompanied by a lovely salad. I Highly recommend this spot!

Lovely place on the front. We didn’t eat just had a quick stop for a drink. The lady who served us was great! I was feeling a mock tail as I’m pregnant and although there wasn’t mocktails on the menu the lady made one with the flavours of soft drink I was going to pick. It was also VERY reasonably priced. We will be back again.

Easy access for those on wheels but a step up to toilet area. Depending on what food you want as breakfast finishes around 11am. Lunch starts at 12.30 mainly cheese & fish

Myself, my wife and the kids had 2 great breakfasts here. Nice, clean and spacious cafe with a relaxed atmosphere situated on the promenade. The food was outstanding, all local produce and the service was great too. The facilities were also very clean. Will definitely be going back in the future

I had lunch here with two friends. The food was delicious and the salad very fresh. The icing on the cake was the French 75 cocktail… simply the best cocktail I’ve ever tasted! Thank you for such a wonderful experience with a lovely view of the sea.

Nice cafe on the seafront for breakfast or lunch

We spent a lot of time in this friendly welcoming cafe/bar. The staff were extremely accommodating and could not do enough to make sure we had a fantastic visit. The food and atmosphere was excellent. Sitting outside has a perfect view of the sea and is a great sun trap. I would recommend it to anyone and will be taking other members of my family back very soon. Thank you Jennie and Stefan

Lovely staff, who remained friendly even when very busy and understandably a little stressed. Dog friendly and spacious table layout for us and the pooches to get comfortable without feeling like we are encroaching on others, which immediately gives bonus points for us! Lovely view of the seafront too. Coffee was great (I’m fussy on my coffee!) and food was great. We ordered at the end of the mid morning rush and they had run out of sausages and black pudding which is what my fiancé wanted, so very kindly gifted him a bacon and egg sandwich for free! Will definitely be back.

Wonderful beachfront cafe! Great views and delicious sandwiches for a great price. Had the Reuben (pictured) and Cubano sandwiches and the ingredients felt fresh and high quality.

Delicious food, fresh local ingredients, great setting on the Esplanades, lovely friendly service … I became a regular during my brief stay in Weymouth.

A relaxing spot to enjoy food with family and friends. The owners are welcoming and the service is very good. We started with drinks and a plate of chilli nachos. After more drinks we ordered pizzas. The price of the pizzas range from £9 to £14 and are worth the money - the toppings which are a work of art - are plentiful and delicious. We paid just over £100 for the three of us. We will return to eat plenty but drink less as this pushed the bill up.

Four of us ate here on Saturday night. Really lovely, interesting pizzas and great service. Really recommend!

Really nice cafe, excellent food. Local tea and coffee served. Prices reasonable for the portions, one of the best cooked breakfast I've had in a long while. Locally sourced sausages and bacon.

Quickly became our favorite spot in Weymouth. Great coffee, cocktails and food. Staff were very warm. Underrated view of the water as well!

Absolutely wonderful eatery/ bar. We have been many times for a drink or a pizza at the weekends but today was our first visit for lunch. Wow! The view, overlooking the sea, what more could you want. Fabulous, friendly service, a great range of local drinks. We had the prawn sandwich, with really chunky prawns and the Thai patties. Full of flavour, great portions, delicious and reasonably priced. This is a must try place when in Weymouth.

Recommended by a local. Great spot in front of the beach and friendly service but unfortunately my breakfast was poor. The toast was hard and dry and the bacon/sausage quite salty (but seemed to be good quality otherwise) that I wasn't able to finish it. I haven't tried other meals there and they might be better in fairness but I wouldn't have breakfast there again. When I walked past again late in the evening I noticed that they were still open and it seems it could be a great place for a wine or coffee.

Great place to eat! Good for gluten free. We came by this place on Friday night happy our, just by chance, but I'm so glad we did. 2 cocktails for £10, and buy one pizza get another half price 5pm-7pm Fridays. One of the best gluten free pizzas we've ever had. Great service, great drinks, great food. Highly recommend.

It's lovely when you walk away from the crowds & find a lovely licensed Bar totally independent & fully accesible

Chilled out great place to meet eat drink unwind absolutely banging breakfast value for money first class service second to non professional clean polite gotta be best eatery in town and service with a smile came out completely fed watered no pressure relaxed lazing at the sandbar 👍

An excellent find right on the seafront. Very scenic views of the beach, sea & horizon. Interesting selection of sandwiches and light bites. Great selection of hot beverages, cold drinks & alcohol. All at a very reasonable cost.A very Mediterranean feel to the place. A no rush place to relax.

Me and my boyfriend have started coming here less often but used to spend our mornings here and it’s such a lovely cafe right on the seafront. An amazing selection of both food and drink and the owner providing service to you is absolutely lovely and so helpful

Breakfast. Perfect location, looking out over the esplanade out to sea. The cooked breakfast, great components parts beautifully presented, delicious and inexpensive. I'd seen the prices online and thought it might be a bit cheap, it's not, it's great value.

Lovely lunch at Sandbar today - great wine, fabulous pizza and quiet setting ideal for a catch up with a friend. Great range of local beers and ciders and dog friendly too

We popped in the Sandbar for an afternoon drink on the way back to our B&B the food smelt so nice we had to have something, we asked the waitress if she could do a mezze plate to share (not on the menu) which she was more than happy to do and it was delicious. Thank you very much we will be back again for a proper meal. Lovely views over the beach. Thoroughly recommended. Kev and Trish.

Arrived in Weymouth looking for a light lunch and just happened upon Sandbar. Very friendly staff, an unusual but exciting menu, food was served piping hot and flavours were great. All at a very reasonable price.

What a gem of a restaurant/cafe! Accidentally found Sandbar walking past and thought we would try it out. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I had the minced Lamb on flatbread, with salad and a mint/cinnamon yoghurt. It was absolutely gorgeous! A couple of our party had pizzas and they were also really nice. The prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend trying Sandbar out, I will definitely be returning.

We visited for lunch , what a little gem. The food was so tasty, portions were very generous.

August 2922: called in for a beer mid afternoon; still a lovely location with friendly service and a great selection of bottled beers and selection of local gins etc. Can't fault it! August 2021: Called in for a drink on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Lovely small friendly cafe bar offering a range of food and drinks from breakfast til closing (close vairies depending on day from 6pm Mon-Thur and 9pm Fri/Sat). east facing over Weymouth bay with seating outside and in. Good range of food from breakfast baps and croassants through to pizza's at lunch and afternoon. Coffee from Fountain Roock (roasted in Weymouth) is deliciously smooth and creams (that was the black Americano!). Had a bottles Dorset IPA and a Wessex gin as well - all very good. Will happily be returning. Good luck to the owners of this new venture!

Had an excellent lunch here - very pleased to find a cafe offering interesting and freshly made food which is reasonably priced. Service also excellent. Recommended.

One of the best places to go for breakfast in Weymouth. Wonderful food and amazing customer service and the prices are very good. for the excellent quality of the food, I would have expected to have paid more. I will definitely be returning.

Our first visit to the Sand Bar Weymouth, The sand bar is right opposite the sea with great view’s. We only stop for a drink, but we decided to have lunch. We had the pizza, to be honest it was the best pizza We have had in weymouth. The bar it self has a small patio out side, great place to catch the sun and watch the world go by. Also has inside seating, great service from the host, great food, and a warm welcome, llllooking forward to

Lovely lady Jenny serving coffees and cakes to us. Can sit inside or outside with dog. Water bowl provided for dogs plus some home made biscuit treats always given to a well behaved Daisy. Coffee is locally roasted and very nice. Cake portions very generous. Supply vegan alternative to milk. Has a lovely well priced menu for light snacks and breakfasts.

The owners are lovely and very welcoming, I really enjoy the food there and they make a cracking coffee. I really like that all the produce is locally sourced so that you get a real taste of Weymouth and the surrounding area. The cafe looks great and is a nice place to hang out. It's great that there are places like this along the sea front.

Pretty cafe with great view of the seafront. I really liked the ambience and the service (staff still wearing masks, big thumbs up). My partner had a chocolate, which he really enjoyed, but my flat white was not great, which was the only negative.

A cool place to lose an hour or so, amazing view over the beach and very friendly service.
