Great chips but once again no chicken kabab meat, now seems to be a regular occurrence! Come on or else I will have to go to Jordan Avenue!

It was my first visit the quality of the food was outstanding I received better than outstanding service especially from my server Michelle would definitely recommend this fish bar 💙🦊⚽

The food is generally nice, on occasion I have had some poor food. The prices are now really expensive and I was surprised that when I went away on holiday by the sea, it was cheaper.

Outruns everywhere else, By far the best! Greate taste and service. Never had a better chippy than this!

Went there tonight and had large cod, small cod, large chips, a doner kebab and 2 x large curry sauce. Large fish was HUGE! Staff really friendly when taking the order, very helpful when ordering the kebab as I had no idea! Not only were the portions a good size but all tasted incredible! Awesome!!!!

There is a reason this chip shop is voted best chippy in burton. The food is always brilliant with such a variety. The staff and owners are brilliant and will do anything they can to help you. Always a nice feeling when they recognise you walking through the door and ask how your week is. A little touch which means a lot to its regulars clientele. 10/10 fish and chips and the only place to go in Burton if not Staffordshire🫶🏻

Chips nice but gosh abysmal. 5mm thick fillet, greasy hard batter. Awful. Peas radioactive. Far too much green dye used. How this place gets good reviews is insane clearly the people of Burton have low standards

Wetmore used to be the place to go for a guaranteed, know what you’re getting, great meal- but it seems it’s now profit over quality & quantity. It wasn’t that long ago they said in print, ‘we don’t want to compromise our portion sizes so we need to increase costs.’ Seems that’s gone out the window! If you’re ordering online you also get a VERY different experience than if you go into fetch it. If I’m paying £26 for TWO kebabs, I expect it to be show stopping. What turned up today was nothing short of a DISGRACE for that amount of money. For that reason, we won’t be back! It won’t take much for others to realise that and start going elsewhere too…

Went here to buy at lunchtime. I’d prefer to go in the evening but the place is so popular that the queues are usually huge! Everything is freshly cooked and you get a good portion at a good price. They will even suggest different ways to order to get the same thing for less money, not many places will do that for you! The staff are lovely and friendly, and it seems genuine and not “faked” Excellent cod and chips with curry sauce! Even with the queues, forget the rest, if you want fish and chips near Burton this is the place to go! The kebabs look great too although not tried one (yet!).

I decided to use this chip shop as it had good reviews So imagine my disappointment when I asked for large cod and chips, the staff member said would you like haddock I said no I would like cod, i noted they had quite a lot of haddock. The staff member seemed annoyed and said well cod will be 10 to 15 minutes I was okay to wait. So I watched observed from my car and then after ten mins I went back in. They were just dishing up mine I noted it look suspiciously like the haddock that had been sitting there for twenty minutes whilst I was queuing up. I asked again are you sure that's cod Thhe staff said yes again it is.. So got home and yes it was the horrible cold haddock. It was too far to take it back I ate a little of it but just couldn't believe the liars of that chip shop I paid over the odds too.. I have attached the photos of the vile cold haddock which should of been Cod... I won't be going there again...

Shocking customer service ordered Cod on entry like your supposed to then told to chill and relax by staff member who then said I don’t like the way your looking at me. Well I DONT like the way your looking at Your customers. Will be taking my custom elsewhere from now on.

Was recommended to me and as I fancied fish and chips one night thought would give it a go. Majority of the staff were lovely, and the fish and chips were as good as the person who recommended it to me said they were. I had a large cod with small chips and a portion of curry sauce. Fish was cooked to order so was fresh and hot, a good size too. Small chips was a very good sized portion and more than enough. Curry sauce was standard chip shop curry. A very enjoyable meal. Would have given the extra star had it not been for the abrupt older woman who snapped at me as “I had ordered and “wasn’t standing against the wall”. Hadn’t been there before and hadn’t noticed the 3 or 4 small dots around the edge where they want you to stand do they know who was waiting to be served. A polite comment/request would have been sufficient. Her aside, definitely recommend the fish and chips from here, other foods looked good too.

Called in for fish and chips on the way to football at the weekend, fish was done in batter quite nicely but although there were a lot of chips they tasted very bland. Seems this shop use cheap potatoes which are not grown for taste

Great food! well presented!! Very few chips per portion my box had a very small portion of chips and so did the other 2 people's I was with. .. disappointing . Ok if you want a very small portion of chips...

After visiting family we decided to call in as it was on the way home. I decided that we would have a mini meal, which was mini fish,chips and mushy peas, which was the best I’ve ever had. The fish was freshly cooked and was delicious, a generous amount of hot chips and the mushy peas were lovely and sweet.

Nothing is too much trouble in this take away. Fish is always cooked to perfection and never to greasy. They have a varied menu and good value for money. Would recommend this chippy to anyone.

Have been using this fish and chip shop for a couple of years now but today I left without any food. The fish which I ordered when I went in was served to someone else and don’t even think about asking to see the size of a small chips before deciding as that is to much for them. Today I was treated like something that had been brought in on the bottom of a shoe and I won’t be going back. Begrudge giving one mark for service!

Friendly, efficient service - went beyond to accommodate that I thought I could pay by card but needed cash. Lovely tasting moist earthy chips and fantastic fish.

We have been going to Wetmore Road Fish Bar for years and always get good quality food. There is lots of choice on the menu, chip portions are huge (a small portion easily feeds 2 people with some left over) and it’s definitely the best in Burton. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. You can phone your order ahead if you want to. If you go on a Friday teatime, you will have to be patient and queue because it is so popular. It’s always worth the wait though, and the staff work really quickly to get the queue down quickly.

Top quality food with a wide range on offer and generous portions. Competitive prices. Always very busy whenever I go there.

Best Chip Shop around. The fish and chips are award wining for a reason. The staff are lovely, always very friendly, super efficient and they ALWAYS give service with a smile.

Came here after going to the Rolleston transport festival. Which I might cover in a separate review. It is a very clean and very nice chippy. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We got a very large portion for the price my mum paid. It was very good and I recommend this place.

It’s worth going here for your fish and chips, cooked beautifully, will definitely go again. Even though we had to go all round town, because of a bridge being closed in town.

Have used Wetmore Road Fish Bar for ages - I ring up to order cod and it is cooked fresh by the time I arrive. When my son and his partner visit from Somerset there is no question about what they want to eat!, Staff are very friendly and always busy, which must be a good sign!

We use this Fish and Chip shop quite regularly in fact we never have fish and chips from anywhere else, everything about this chippie is fantastic, lovely friendly staff in this family run establishment serving fantastic wholesome food, all cooked to perfection, spotlessly clean in fact faultless in every aspect. Never heard anyone give a poor report on the place. I challenge anyone to come up with a better chippie in or anywhere around the Burton area. If you haven't already tried it then you don't know what you are missing , if you have tried the rest now try the best.

We went to Burton as we had won something off eBay so went to collect it and missed our tea so the great Google was used and this place came up so we thought let's give it a go. Audra had pukka pie chips and gravy and I had a large fish and chips. The fish was Vern nice and white and chips were also well cooked. You could tell this place is popular as there was a constant stream of customers coming in. Defiantly worth a try if your passing.

Una excelente relación calidad-precio "fish and chips". Fresco cocinado pasta, cod adecuadamente cocinado a la perfección generosas porciones. Concurrida, pero tuve que esperar a la parada de cocina parece nunca tan rápidamente aunque sirve 6 personas delante de mí. Señoras sonrientes que servidores feliz mirar para disfrutar de su trabajo y dar un servicio excelente. A sólo 2 mesas pequeñas que usted puede usar para comer. Llamaría de nuevo cuando paso y necesitando algo de comer. Gente de suerte.

Always busy which mean all food is very freshly made which us why many keep coming back. There are 2 small tables to sit and eat sooner than eat in the car. Very busy with factory works collecting multi orders but there us little delay as staff are very busy and working hard to keep supplies going.

Consistently excellent food from here. We tend to have fish, chicken or kebab and chips. It's always freshly cooked - they're so busy that they are always cooking - and really good quality. The prices are very fair too, especially for the quality and portion sizes.

I would say the best fish, chicken &chips i have had in a long time service is brilliant and food not greasy like some places would travel from far to get great food

Have been there twice this month. We used to use this place but was fed up with the long wait but friends and family have said they are good and have food ready to wrap now and that is true food was alway nice but they can now serve queues quickly prices not to bad either will continue to use this chippy as they give good service.

This is an outstanding fish and chip shop. It offers really good value for money and the staff are really customer friendly.

Go here 1/2 times a week sometime for my family sometimes for elderly I help foods always fresh and yummy especially fish and the kebabs. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Have used the chippy since it opened a while back. It is run by a lovely friendly Greek family. We have always been made to feel welcome whenever we have visited and the portions are mega sized. Worth paying a visit. I guarantee you won't be served a bigger portion of fresh chips anywhere.

First class food and plenty of it. Wouldn't go anywhere else. There is sometimes a queue, probably out of the door but well worth the wait.

Tried this chippy after a friend recommended it and have been going there for my fish and chips since,even though its a bit further and i pass two chip shops definately worth the extra mileage.I usually have fish for my dinner and this place cooks it perfect every time, crisp batter accompanied by fluffy chips.Kebabs are a pretty good choice too when opting for a change. Recommended!!

You always get a nice chunky piece of white fish rather than a thin grey slice of something that may have been near the sea at some point. Always go for the large chips, but only one. The portion is the size of a new born baby. Service is very friendly and the queue you get is to be expected. Try it. You will not be disappointed.

I've been going here for years, it's always lovely fresh cooked food, even if we have a large order the staff are always happy to help. George is always there to put a smile on your face and occasionally does help too ;-). If you want a fantastic chippy tea... Go here.

Bought food from here quite a few times and the it's good quality and the portion sizes are huge. Tonight there was a queue as usual and a man who I assume is a regular walked in quite a bit after us, and the man behind the counter checked what he wanted and cooked it for him then proceeded to serve him before us and others who were there before him. Following this we will not be returning to be treated as second class, yes we aren't there weekly but we were still paying customers who deserved to be treated better.

This chippy is the best in town foods always freshly cooked very good portions, lovely family and friendly staff nothing's ever problem to cook to as you request once you've been once you will sure to go back again.

Ordered a chip cob/butty for £1.80. It could have fed two people easily. They do not skimp on portions here and they are so friendly too. Traditional fish and chips with a few contemporary bits on the side (donner, chicken etc). Great, great value; wonderful service and, most importantly, awesome chippy chips.

We often drop in here after a couple of pints at The Tower Brewery on Friday evenings. Friendly staff and always good fish and chips. Highly recommended.

My favourite fish and chip shop, the food is always fresh and fryed by a charming young man, that always greets us with a beautiful smile, he makes us very welcome and always asks how we are, the food always is cooked to our requirements me and my husband like to eat our fish well done and he cooks it specially for us. I would recommend this place.

As always, a massive portion of 'small' chips which always taste fresh and red hot. Loving the new battered mushrooms too! Friendly faces and service? The only chippy to visit in Burton!

By far the Best fish and Chip shop in Burton X Run by a fantastic family of people X the fish in batter is the best takeaway I have tasted and even down to the simple things like mushy peas are great X fantastic kebabs to with regular guest flavours on a Friday especially in the summer months X wouldn't go anywhere else

I rate this as one of the best chippies in Burton. Every visit is met with a warm welcome. The battered fish is superb with golden crispy batter cocked to perfection, and the chips are also great.

Their fish and chips are the best, the freshest just made, crispy chips, red hot, lovely fish. Try their mini fish and chips comes with a carton of peas or beans. They also have a huge menu of other foods. We have never left thinking that was not so good, always consistent. You get a smiling welcome back every time you go. Very popular with all the workers around the local street and others who are mobile. Pity no car park. There are 2 table inside if you would sooner eat there as apposed to in the car or taking them elsewhere.

By far and away the best fish and chips in the area, run by the loveliest family! Highly recommended, whatever you are having.
