Absolutely rude and unprofessional staff, they are rude and disrespectful. unfriendly. The management are worse. Absolute shambles of a public house.

The Watch House is a good place to meet and nice coffee and breakfast. Lots of room upstairs and some on the main level. Good.

We had breakfast at two locations of this good chain. One was in Bermondsey and that was a corner cafe with coffee and breakfast pastries. The second site was close to our hotel (we discovered this too late in our stay) and was large with a substantial menu and lots of seating. This Watch House was at Butler Wharf. The first was good and the 2nd was better!

Absolutely horrible, drinks ok- surrounded by beer flies the whole time! One even went in my dinner 🤢 Not very pleasant.

Charming place. I was standing at the bar when some bloke got coshed behind me. He was literally lying in a[pool of blood with it oozing out on the floor. All the stafff did was to make a space around the body....and keep on serving.

Management and staff are not polite. We ordered food but they gave us the wrong food and forced us to pay and took us out of the restaurant while we still had food and drinks on the table.

My complaint is mostly about the cleanliness of the place. The table hadn't been cleaned drinks had previously been spilled over the table & menu's which were left sticky, plus bits of food that had been dropped from the previous customers. when I asked the staff member to clean it she had the most appalling attitude, it was clearly a problem for her to be asked to clean it. She then wiped the crumbs from the table onto my coat that was placed on the seat next to me. Our plates glasses & jugs were not collected when were finished, we had to go put them on a empty table for them to be taken away. The stair rail and doors leading to the toilets were sticky to touch as well. The place is just grimey. The final straw for me was when a customer sat & kept spitting on the carpet, I mean this is totally unacceptable but especially in the eating area. Maybe if the place was more on point with the cleanliness that person might have thought differently about doing that. I will NOT be frequenting this establishment any time in the near future

When I'm in Lewisham I go to spoons for lunch I'm a vegan so I order Quorn nugget wrap it's lovely and with a coffee the price is good the staff are friendly prices are good🎉

Awful treatment of my friend with a service dog. It is illegal to ban service dogs in any public space and the manager argued with my friend until he refused to talk to her anymore. He asked for ID which people with service dogs can't register for in the UK. Appalling behaviour and 100% illegal

This Lewisham favorite is an atmospheric pub, with an incredibly diverse crowd. Great selection of beers on tap. It's huge, so you can usually find a seat, even if it's crowded. We always stop in for a drink if we're in the neighborhood.

Whenever I go to Lewisham I have lunch here. I'm a vegan and they do a nice Quorn nugget salsa wrap with either chips or salad I go for the salad it's always fresh tasty I also have coffee which is bottomless nice friendly staff and good food😋

this pub is just a normal Wetherspoons pub filled with the local drunks and layabouts whom just spend the whole day drinking and not much else the tables were sticky and the floor just about the same although stay too long the time I did spent here was enough

Went in Sunday 4/10. Sat down. Because entrance door was kept wide open we left before ordering. It was bitterly cold.

Twice now Ive ordered a vegan food option (lower calories without eggs) and twice now I have been given food with eggs. It seems staff have yet to be trained in the difference between vegetarianism and veganism.

The pub is very popular but under staff, so toilet is always very stinky had a word with the staff but totally ignored.

Lewisham is a village about 20 minutes from London Bridge on the Hayes/Kent rail line. Like any good village, it has a good pub. I liked the Watch House a lot, it is a good old fashioned English pub with a good selection on beers on tap. The staff and the patrons are friendly, I would drop in every night for a few pints when we were staying in the village. I must say I enjoyed the ale, it is the taste of traditional English beer.

Food was mediocre and the waiting times were awful. We waited 40 minutes for food followed by another half an hour for some pancakes desert! Wouldn’t recommend coming here especially on a Sunday, it wasn’t even busy but always short staffed. Also the tables weren’t even being cleaned!!!!!

Quick service at the bar. Didn't want a full meal so went for the three snacks which as it turned out was plenty for the two of us, although for some reason when it arrived we were presented with cutlery for one, and even though the female serving us could see two of us did not offer more, I had to ask. I had wanted a hot chocolate but was told it would be about 20 mins as the machine was being cleaned. I had tea instead as only one machine dispenses chocolate. Why it was being cleaned as lunch time, who knows.......not great timing. As I drink decaf I like that Wetherspoons cater for that unlike a certain chain with a clown for a mascot. I do question the 20 minute time line though, we were in there for about 45mins and the machine was still out of action when we left. This is a standard looking Spoons as seen in many High Streets with nothing special to look at, although a bit if history on where the building is. Length of wait, usual, food, cheapish but tasty and no complaints. Typical visit to a Wetherspoons, experience as expected.

We love Wetherspoons, because they are such good value and the Watch House is no exception. Wetherspoons menu is extensive and we've never been disappointed; on top of this, they also make use of interesting old buildings, such as the Watch House, which otherwise might disappear. Service is usually quick, but if slow, this is simply because they can get very busy; their themed evenings are also great value, and a chance to perhaps try something different.

Nice place to have a coffee or food or the best and reasonably priced any drink you want even efes beer

Chap detrás de la barra comenzó a sonar hacia la cocina, pero fue detenida por una dama (tal vez un gerente o supervisor) pero sin uniforme y sin etiqueta de identificación y ella me dijo que la parrilla mixta estaba lista y abajo en la cocina detenida debido mezclarse con las papas fritas? ? ? No dijo dónde estaban las otras 3 comidas y ella dijo que se resolvería en breve (sin disculpas por el retraso).A las 6 . 30 p. metro. ¡Todavía no había comida y clientes que habían llegado después de nosotros habían sido servidos y abandonaron las instalaciones! He estado viniendo aquí por cerca de 6 años, pero diré que estoy sorprendido de lo sucias y apestosas que están las mesas en el JD Wetherspoon. Muy decepcionante de ver y sentarse. I visited the pub on saturday morning (9th Feb) to find the manager asleep in front of customers for hours. there was only one member of staff to be seen running around serving food, drinks, answering phone. I asked some other customers why there was only one member of staff in the pub and they pointed me to the manager who was asleep on one of the booths, they said the manager had been asleep there for hours as he was out drinking all night leaving one person to run the pub. They also said they had taken a photo of him alseep and would send it to head office. I went to the pub again the next day and the people who took the photo said when the manager woke up after being asleep in fron of customers for hours they said the manager had threatened them and told them to delete the photos because it was illegal. i find this disgusting and embarrassing that a manager would sleep in their pub when they are supposed to be working then threaten regular customers when they get photo evidence to complain.

Good cheap eats, friendly staff. Could be a bit cleaner, but I suppose it must get a lot of traffic.

Went there with a friend for a drink, we had a quick bite as well, it is a nice pub, good service, value for money.

Muchas veces hemos comido en este pub convertido en Wetherspoon y siempre ha sido fiable, muy bueno y barato, así que pensé en el momento en que publiqué una reseña.

Muchas veces hemos estado en Wetherspoons para reunirnos como un grupo familiar. No habíamos estado durante 9 meses debido al desastre total de una comida el 18 de marzo, decidimos reunirnos allí ayer, 28 de diciembre. Todos ordenamos comida a diferentes horas. El primer error fue que las comidas principales de nuestras hijas llegaron antes de los entrantes de la sopa. Cuando pedimos nuestra comida, el personal vino a decir que no tenían masa, así que no podían hacer pan de ajo. Así que conseguimos un reembolso de eso en 5. 38. Llegaron nuestros 3 platos pequeños, con una comida principal. A las 6 . 15 Le pregunté al personal sobre las 2 pizzas y la comida triple de pollo. Regresó a disculparse, tampoco pizzas, esto es casi una hora después de nuestro primer pedido. Nos ofrecieron nuestro dinero y una bebida de cortesía. Esperamos otros 10 minutos para la comida triple de pollo antes de renunciar. Mi esposo habló con el gerente, quien devolvió el dinero, pero no ofreció una bebida ni ninguna forma de disculpa. No hace falta decir que no iremos allí de nuevo. Como un grupo de más de 14 personas, gastamos una cantidad considerable cada vez que visitamos. Obviamente, no necesitan la costumbre, ya que el servicio al cliente es muy deficiente. Hasta el mal servicio en marzo, estaríamos allí varias veces al año, esta era la oportunidad de demostrar que marzo había sido un año, decepcionante, obviamente, no lo era.

Vine aquí durante la semana para desayunar con mi esposo y puedo decir que esta es la mejor Wetherspoons en la que he estado, el servicio al cliente es perfecto, el personal es realmente acogedor y el desayuno era en realidad caliente.

It seems as though management are not doing a good job, constantly under staffed and often there is no manager around to talk to, leaving the other members of staff to deal with the complaints of unhappy customers. My visit today to this pub today was terrible and it is the reason I decided to write this review.

The value for money was good, even if service was slow. Reasonable size helpings of food. All you can drink tea and coffee, but the machine needs recalibrating to fill the cups. Lots of history around the walls. Clean toilets when we visited. Left satisfied. Thanks.

Dropped in for a drink, had an IPA and a Bishop's Finger ale, brewed in Kent. The Watch House is a 'real ale' sort of pub -- kegs in the cellar at ambient temperature, the ale is actually pulled from the keg by the bar staff. It's a change from nondescript lagers. It's the local for the area, The punters are friendly, it'd a fine place to have a friendly beer.

Great location, Superb facilities, great value for money and we enjoyed our meetings so much 3 tv screens that allow you present slides during meetings

Visited here with my partner while waiting to attend a concert in O2. We both had burgers which were absolutely amazing. Came back for drinks after the concert and was served by the lovely Andy who was friendly and hard working behind the bar.

Had lunch there this Tuesday, and very nice it was. The bar service was excellent, and Stacey behind the bar performed like gazelle, serving about 3 people at once. And the other star was a girl called Unique, she was young, intelligent, charming and very interactive with the customers, even introducing herself to the regulars. Part of me feels a bit sorry that her ambition in like is to be an estate agent . . . .

One of 5 Wetherspoon's I visited in the area on the same Sunday afternoon in August. Arrived here probably 2 p.m. ish. The good point was being able to use the app and have drinks brought to the table which was swift with the drinks being politely put on the table. Went off to the gents and they were a disgrace. Wet under all the urinals made it difficult to stand in comfort, soaking around the sink and floor, tissue everywhere. I didn't notice if they had an hourly cleaning rota like many do, if they did it wasn't being adhered to. It certainly made me question the hygiene of the pub and resulted in a decision to eat elsewhere and it was comfortably ranked bottom of the 5 pubs we visited.

Went last weekend, it was very busy. Found table close to back garden. Staff were fantastic, food delicious. Food was quick and good size portion. Great value for money. Will be back soon.

I've been here many times as have lived up the road for years. It is definitely value for money for drinks and maybe the few pubs in the area that are. The few times I've eaten I have not been able to finish due yo poor quality.

Dropped in recently for dinner whilst staying in Lewisham. It was steak night, so an 8oz rump steak with trimmings and a pint for a little over eight pounds. Large selection of beers on tap and decent sized portions. What's not to like?

The Watch House is part of the Weatherspoon chain and therefore we all know the menu. Food is well prepared and quick to arrive, and to the usual tasty standard. Great service...keep it up!

Fuimos a Lewisham para hacer algunas compras y decidimos comer fuera en vez de cocinar. Decidimos ir de repente a este pub y me alegro tanto de haberlo hecho. Ambos decidimos en el 14 oz bistec Angus de Aberdeen. Estaba muy bien preparado y se derretía en la boca. No hemos tenido un bistec tan bonito en mucho tiempo.

Quiere agradecer a el personal de la casa de Lewisham para ver las últimas 2 noches para un servicio maravilloso y por su excelente servicio al cliente. Regresaré esta noche para un curry.

We have been here before and all been ok however today far from ok after ordering out food we waited a good 30 minutes and no food I asked at the bar if we may have been forgotten, it transpired our food had been waiting for collection by the bar staff, this explains things as all the girls behind the bar were interested in was talking about where and who with they were going out tonight.

Visited with my partner and another couple we both had dogs, Labrador and a miniature poodle. We entered someone sweeping outside said sorry no dogs inside so we came outside and went to find a seat in the outside seating area. When some jobs worth came up to us and said again no dogs were allowed inside we said yes we understand this hence us being outside with our very noisy aggressive miniature poodle! One of our group went to buy our drinks and they were all served when the very very brave manager who turned out to be the sweeper told the server not to let us pay and that we had to leave because if the dogs !? Absolutely crazy!? Why didn't the sweeping manager actually come up to us and explain 1. That we had to leave 2. Why 3. Grow some. Shocking customer service from a weatherspoons not that i expect much more but still. I would avoid at all costs personally incredibly rude and disgusting behaviour.

One of the best typical english breakfasts I have ever had. It was very much food and a very good price. I also had dinner there and it was also very very good and cheap. Visit this PUB it´s really nice and you realy get into the typical english daily life.

Dark and olde worlde this pub is well worth the visit. I travelled from Chelsea and it was well worth it. Again, it is quintessentially British and Wetherspoons.

the pub was nearly full on a Wednesday lunchtime ... we struggled to find a table i had a very nice 14oz abderdeen angus rump steak and pints of phoenix porter.Wetherspoons had a london beer festival on' so there were much more interesting ales on tap this time compared to previous visits. value for money is obviously the big draw card for wetherspoons

A dump. Poor staff attitude. Poor food. No atmosphere. A lifeless place, with lifeless customers and no feel to it at all.

My hubby and i came the other day, food was lovely. As hubby was on his lunch break we asked for desert to be brought out asap.... we waited..... 30 mins after clearly our plates.... still waiting...... my hubby had 10 mins of his break so i went up to cancel the order for dessert..... as i was at the till getting a refund the awful fat man brought out the desert and said "so du want it or not?" I replied no you took too long. He practically stamped his feet in a huff and barged off to the kitchen moaning. I think someobe needs a reminder about customer service! Wont be back! Such a shame as we like weatherspoons.

Ate a quick meal one early evening. Bar staff friendly (though didn't seem desperately well trained). Meal was exactly what I'd expect - cheap and cheerful.

Pub típico inglés ideal para degustar cualquiera de sus numerosas cervezas y comer algo. Las hamburguesas están muy buenas con un montón de salsas para degustar. El personal muy correcto.

compared to other wetherspoons, the watch house feels worn out and grubbystaff are poorly trained which has to be the management's fault. poor choice of real ales show the disinterest of management ... this pubs needs a big shake out

You need to be psychic to eat here. In other words, you need to know your food is not right before you start it - or at least before you get to the bad bit. We ordered Lamb Shank and Cod and Chips. Half way through eating my cod, I became aware that parts of it were almost raw. It was so bad that I had to spit it out on the plate. I tried another mouthful. It was just as bad. "I can't eat this", I thought, so I pushed the remains of the fish and the few remaining chips to the side of the plate and put my knife and fork down. At that very point, a member of the serving staff appeared and asked if everything was alright. I told her it was inedible as if it hadn't been cooked in parts. Her response? "You should have told me earlier. There's nothing that can be done now." How much earlier? Before I started or before I reached the inedible parts? What a ridiculous response. But, she was determined not to do anything about it. As such, I'm determined not to come back here ever again. For the record, my partner's Lamb Shank was excellent. Shame about the fish and the staff attitude. Simply not good enough.

I've been to this place a couple of times now and it has actually taken me by surprise. It's not like the other Wetherspoons pubs I've been to where it's rowdy and so loud and noisy that you can't have a conversation. This place is actually fairly calm and the interior is actually taken care of. There is a good amount of seating and the staff were friendly. The toilets were in pretty good condition as most Wetherspoons pubs I've been to have disgusting bogs. I would definitely recommend this place as somewhere to go with friends, family and work colleagues.

I go often in this place and never disappointed, bar staff are friendly and beers in perfect condition. Food is good and cheap as others wetherspoon. I recommend for the people drink beer.

Visited this pub following a business appointment in Lewisham. Usual Wetherspoons "feel" - polite staff and good ale. Ordered the "special" which was rump steak for £5.99 - for the first time at a Wetherspoons for some time, the steak was not tender and was smewhat tough - serves me right for tempting fate by telling everyone that I had never had a tough steak at a 'Spoons!

Good food and lots of space to sit and have a meal, whether you want quiet or busy/family. Nice Manager who seems proud to work there and welcome you which is good to see. Great location for people watching.

Had brunch today, it was well cooked and served carefully; it was also good value. The pub is a typical Wethersppons establishment, albeit somewhat cleaner and tidier than many but would benefit from a lick of paint and a good scrub.Would go again when in the market area for a filling meal. Go early as it gets busy.

We're only occasional visitors but have never been disappointed. There's always a range of real ales, service is friendly and efficient, food is perfectly OK, and the bar isn't populated by the old geezers (I'm 65 myself) you often see in a JD Wetherspoon pub. The clientele seems friendly and diverse. With the usual JDW value for money, it's a good, well-managed pub.

I have been using this pub for around 8 months now after living and working in Spain for 9 years!I am fortunately *chauffeur driven in a very sought after car, so no fear of having one to many! (*Not being flash)A couple of weeks ago the assistant manager spotted me exiting my car and walking into the pub. My god if looks could kill!As usual I found myself a table and enjoyed a great pint of Abbott Ale.After my third and final pint I was approached by the assistant manager who by now had flaring nostrils as he blurted in my face “I hope you're not driving that thing home tonight" pointing at my car!I suggested to him that before embarrassing him self with this allegation he should go to my car, that way he would have seen my uniformed chauffeur!This Thursday I went to the pub again hoping that I would not have to see this nasty person again.Bad idea! I went to the bar to order a pint and this (Cannot use the word that I’m thinking!!!!) - Came up to me and blurted out "I barred you two years ago when you refused to pay for a drink that your father had ordered"I suggested that he had mistaken me for somebody else as I have never been bared from anywhere in my life.Regarding the hurtful mistake that he made regarding my father, I explained that my dear father sadly passed away ten years ago.He replied by saying “Well whoever it was, you’re still barred!Just as I left the bar I had a feeling that maybe all this rubbish was due the fact that I mentioned when questioned the week before that I had a Chauffeur driven car and that there could be a bit of jealousy going on here!I also said that if he wanted he could check my car, that way he could see for himself that I was telling the truth or if he was too busy I could simply phone my driver and he could verify without a doubt that I was not telling lies as my car can be seen from within the pub!As I thought, he did not want to do as I suggested!By the way, this nasty piece of work could, instead of dishing out false allegations. Concentrate on keeping The Watch House in Lewisham High Street. Clean, starting with the disabled toilets.

Great little find traveled up at weekend from Yorkshire . Nice food nice ales .polite staff and friendly .very busy and lively place . Keep up the good work

Popped in the other day for a roast of the day. It was ok, not many vegs only mash and few carrots and some cabbage. I pint a pint with it.The pub inside is very dark, no windows as it's in a high st sandwiched between stops so it has this dark gloomy feal when you enter. People seemed pleasant enough.

We had burgers and a Tuna baguette for lunch with a cider and an ale.The burger was cooked just right and was tender and juicy, the Tuna baguette was also tasty.There was a wide range of good ales and beers on sale and was One of the best Wetherspoons I have been to in a long time and will be back as soon as I can.

"its a wetherspoons in lewisham",should be sufficient to say about this pub.the usual fare,the usual beers,the usual menu etc....i quite like the place for those very reasons.not a place to go for a night out but as a meeting place close to buses and shops its ideal or just for a sit down and drink after shopping.

Had a quick lunch here one day recently. It's a typical JD Wetherspoons. As one other reviewer has already commented, the place was rather cold. Our fish and chips was OK but I don't think I would be making a beeline for the place any time soon.

I call this pub the Lonesome Pine as it's full of old blokes sitting on their own taking up a table for 4 people. They all know each other by sight but never speak to each other or share a table. So much for the socialising aspect of pub culture. The biggest complaint is there is no area in the pub that is warm. It's cold everywhere with air con ducts over just about every seating area and everyone keeps their coats on. No where else to drink in Lewisham except the trendy "bring your annoying brats" expensive hangouts like the Ravensbourne. Good for cheap booze but take a hot water bottle and dress up warm.

After a long day of shopping, we ended up Wetherspoons in Lewisham High Street. Our order comprised six meals (four of which came with drinks) and six other drinks and the total amount came to only about £63! When one member of the party had difficulty making up her mind about which beer to drink, the barmaid let her taste different beers until she found the right one for the meal. All done with a smile.The burgers were delicious, the turkey Christmas dinner very good value for money and the portion size perfect! What a find; we will be back!

Like all JDWs, the drinks are cheap here: but this seems to be the only reason to go here. It is not at all attractive.The woodwork is desperately badly chipped and scratched - the whole pub needs a spritz up.They also have a problem with theft of/from bags, to judge from the plentiful warning signs.Don't bother.

Been before but decided to try Sunday roast and it. Was lovely and a very big portion was surprised as eaten before and portions were small! Great price and would go again

been here on many ocassions,alone or with friends.its a typical wetherspoons in both 'quality and quantity'.cheaper than most 'centrally' located pubs of its type,it serves the 'locals' mainly ,as other nearby pubs have closed.it seems mainly to cater for drinkers rather than diners,which is not too surprising.its a meeting-place rather than somewhere to spend a 'night out'
