I've never had the food from the spoons in warrington but the service is fast and there's no faffing around, its got a great atmosphere its not to quite and not to loud get a bit busy but not as busy as some I've been to. It's also very clean the glasses are clean as well and so are the tables

Went here for a couple of drinks before getting food and was quite shocked. I didn’t expect anything to be too fancy as it wasn’t a fine dining place but didn’t expect SEVERAL dirty glasses either. My boyfriend had gotten a lager and had what looked to be old food on the bottom of the glass. I ordered a cherry pepsi and was met with finger marks all inside the glasses.

Over 1 hour waiting for hamburger, nobody warned us that take so long. Finally meal wasn't tasty.

A bit disappointing. I went to what was one of the best Wetherspoons in Warrington centre but it was one that had been sold, post Brexit. I walked half a mile to another and a big screen showing football was on at one end (not for me, thanks) so I got a coffee and went to the far side of the bar. The coffee (shown) was supposed to be a milky coffee, but was strong, black. The tables were strewn with menus and food debris and an open bottle of vinegar. I ordered food using the app. A glass of apple juice was plonked unceremoniously on the table, without so much as a grimace. It had ice which I had specifically requested to 'remove', as it affects my teeth. I shouted the waitress back but she ignored me. The food (jacket potato and tuna mayonnaise) arrived without the table being cleared or cleaned, and was generous in proportions, but the salad had seen better days.

Had a chicken tikka was charged extra for a garlic naan I didn’t ask for when my food arrived asked for a plain naan as I did not ask for the garlic naan she said yes of course I’ll have them bring another one out and never did one lady with dark hair was lovely but the other lady said the kitchen just didn’t make the naan bread as I had finished my food.

Terrible staff, we visited today , only to find rude staff and no milk We paid for unlimited tea/ coffee but could only have the one drink each .

Poor attitude. Ordered cheeseburger. When it came it wasn't a cheeseburger. I told the waitress there is no cheese on a burger and then she offered to bring a cheese to put on myself. I asked her if she could take it and put cheese on it. On return she slammed the plate on the table without any acknowledgement. Because of this service I asked for my money back which they refused - no customer rights. I've asked for the lady's name and she refused to give it to me and I don't have proof of the purchase as they don't give you a receipt. Apparently she was a manager and couldn't speak to someone else. I've been fan of Wetherspoon's for many years and I have spent a lot of money at this chain but I won't go in this pub again. I don't deserve to be treated like this and I'm disappointed.

I had a wonderful experience at Friar Penketh today! The food was amazing, and I enjoyed a delightful conversation with Rhys, a fantastic fellow, about the upcoming ales. The staff provided excellent service, and I'll definitely be returning soon.

Spent the afternoon at The Friar while waiting to see a gig at Parr Hall. We had a wrap and chips with a drink and it was delicious. Despite the place being jammed to the rafters, the staff were friendly, helpful and the food arrived in good time. The pub was clean and the tables hade been wiped down before we reached our table. All in all, we had absolutely no complaints we'll certainly visit again next time we're gigging around the corner.

Good food excellent service with good drinks

I like coming in here for a drink, cos it's great value and relaxing, especially upstairs. But last time I was in on a Thursday afternoon, I went upstairs to get served, only to be told there's no one serving. So went downstairs and queued for 10 minutes and the old man behind the bar looked really miserable and the young woman said it's app only upstairs and they were short staffed. Needs more staff on a busy afternoon.

Overall, my fav drinking and eating place in Warrington. Ok, they have their problems now and then but hey that's life. Great ale, nice food and can be a very relaxing place to pass the afternoon

Our food and drink orders have always been correct however you can't always guarantee getting your steaks cooked as ordered. Table service can take a while and have had them "forget" to bring drinks ordered via the app but once mentioned to them, they rectify it. Staff aren't always the best, a few have a face on, never crack a smile and are basically unapproachable whilst others are the total opposite. Kind of luck of the drawer

Young lad Josh served me and was fantastic. Very fast service and friendly! Made the visit with my Mrs stress free and lovely!

I only popped in for a quick drink before meeting someone. I preferred the other Spoons in Warrington that was sold. The Friar is just off the main drag (back of the market). Nice in the summer with outside seating.

Great spoons this one. Tucked away down a side road in warrington, this place is our go to bar on regular nights out in the area. Prices , obvioulsy , are great, staff are happy and chatty. always a great experience when we go there.

Went here for a friend’s 18th birthday. The staff were very friendly, I got chatting to the girl who served us at the bar. She was lovely, I hope she’s having a good time right now. The food was also really good in my opinion: I got pasta, it was very tasty. Only downside is that, being a spoons, the atmosphere was loud and honestly a little bit overwhelming.

Food was alright, chips were abit bland one or two under cooked. Atmosphere loud as to be expected. Service was spot on cannot fault them.

Food good and Morgan the floor assistant is great, constantly on the go and is a cedit to the pub and him self, works so hard and very polite.

Prior to this visit there was an elderly man working there , who was collecting glasses delivering meals and putting empty glasses in the glass washer , and to top it all was serving drinks while the younger staff members were stood about. The man deserves a medal 🏅 ten out of ten

Good and experienced, polite staff. The food was good, not much impressed by the quantity but impressed by the quality. I had a boneless bucket and chips. Boneless bucket- You will get two kinds of chicken around 8 chicken small to medium-sized pieces and colesau. Enjoyed it! Love to visit again and try other items.

Quite a nice looking place for a weatherspoons I ordered a drink and the glass just stunk of washing up liquid which put me off drinking it Majority of the staff were really friendly except the one big tall guy who was taking drinks and food out (I assume is the manager or works in the kitchen) has zero customer service skills, just grunts and doesn't acknowledge customers I did have to ask about drinks that I ordered 20 minutes ago which was promptly delivered to my table

Superb afternoon nice staff and customer's , also a great selection of real ale. I must admit it's one of the best Wetherspoon's I've visited in recent times , I'll definitely be making more visits

Went as a family with 10 year old children for breakfast at the weekend. As it's a Weatherspoons it was busy. Found the tables to not be the cleanest and had to wait ages for food. Mine was just about hot enough for me to not send back but was close. Everyone else's was fine.

Had a mixed grill and was the worst food I have ever had. Been here quite a lot and it is a bit hit and miss but this was a shocker, the meat was dry and way way overcooked? Terrible I also overheard someone else say it was the worst mixed grill they had ever had. Sack the bloody chef or better still the manager..

Lovely modern looking Wetherspoons. Still got a 'new look' vibe but with the usual Spoons atmosphere.

A very good experience in a pub we haven't been in before only reason l didn't give it more stars, is due to the 3 teens who did stop vaping and swearing for a good 40mins even when asked.

Very busy since the other Wetherspoons closed.But staff work their socks off.

Really poor, no table service appeared , waited 25 minutes despite the app saying 2 to 7 minutes, staff excuse was the had been a bit busy, no apology, had to go to bar to get service, Really very poor all round. Will not use again.

Early tea, so no real atmosphere and naan bread for curry was overdone and cardboard-like. Excellent real ale choices on draught, Wobbly Bob & Old Peculiar!!

Curry very tasty but naan was microwaved within an inch of its life🤪. Decor & toilets a little faded. Could do with a bit of updating.

The food and atmosphere was mid for a Wetherspoons, sadly the service was worse than usual as our waitress was very abrasive to certain members of our group and got visibly annoyed at us when she served us food we didn't order. I the past this place has been nice but it can be crowded at times

I always preferred the other Wetherspoons in town before it shut. This one is always so much slower service. Food took nearly 30 mins to come and it was breakfast. Not a massive wait but when I'm by myself with 2 toddlers to contain I definitely felt a little frazzled

We had a '10oz' Gammon with eggs and a large Mixed Grill. The '10oz' Gammon was 2 very thin slices of Gammon, extremely dry, hard & cremated - almost inedible. The Mixed Grill had very thin slices of Gammon, Chicken, Lamb, Steak & 2 Pork Sausages. The Sausages were passable but, again, the rest of the meat was very dry & overcooked - so hard that the knife struggled to cut through it! Both meals had fried eggs, which again were very hard & overcooked. Whilst we will return here for drinks, we will NEVER eat here again.

Just popped in for breakfast as was visiting the city centre. Very nice it was too. Only a 2 minute walk away from the centre itself. Staff pleasant and the food was good too

Not very happy about the service here , the manager seemed very attitudy & rude... We kept asking for for clean spoons because their cutlery was grainy and grubby... Instead of handing us the new spoons , she threw the spoons on the table, then we find out they are more dirty spoons . Not happy at all . I noticed this with all the Wetherspoons , service has gone down all & cutlery is not cleaned properly. Put me off

NEED A CLEANER! Cutlery was dirty, took 4 attempts to get clean spoons. Bar tender had to come off the bar to help us as the manager was useless. Took us 15 mins to get okay cutlery. The day was busy which I understand- I have worked in this industry before but they definitely need someone focusing on cleaning. Building full of empty plates so no where to sit down.

Could do with more chips, from a previous visit. Update beer quality has gone down hill, due to that I have rated it one star I will be back in the next week or so, and I hope to give them five stars.

Breakfast was served reasonably fast and is well priced but the quality of the food is low. Cheap beans which were cold and the sausages were awful with little meat and less taste. Id personally rather pay a little more for some higher quality items.
