Friendly staff&the food was lovely. Love the new decor too. However, the dog situation is not for me so I will only be visiting in future if it's nice weather&we can sit outside. I did ask for the black dog to be removed from begging at my side as it wasn't appropriate &I am allergic to dogs&cats. The young lady did this but a few minutes later it returned. Once there were 5 dogs in there I left. I totally understand how allowing dogs would be welcome to a lot of people but it doesn't cater for those who are allergic. Good luck to the new manager who I might add was lovely&friendly &bought some pencils for my grandkids when she couldn't find any.

Had a wonderful time at the pub today Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Very friendly staff and very attentive Thank you. The food was lovely but I dont understand that they can offer a senior menu but it was actually less food than the children plating! Was disappointed with it really about eight chips a desert-spoonful of peas and five small scampi. I didnt want a big meal but I was expecting more than a child’s meal! I didnt say anything at the time because the staff were just super but I would definitely not recommend the senior - probably better not to offer it. Thanks for a lovely Sunday afternoon. Great place for families with loads of outdoor space and games. Very clean

Honest review since the relaunch, been 5 times 1st night opening night, expensive 5.40p a pint in a local pub 2nd time drinks on a sat night, dogs everywhere in the bar, finished pint and left 3rd time ordered food, was dreadful microwave food 4th time went for drinks on the balcony, was enjoying it,till some idiot,i presume landlady's partner started jet washing his car in side car park, very noisy and get wet 5th time went for drinks just recently 9-10 underage kids watching football unattended, pretty sure against the law, landlady just walked straight past them, the bar staff are good ,its just a really badly run pub Just received a return from the manager"points not pints" No idea what it means, very disappointed

Refurbishment is great, the issue i had was the food. 1st 2 items on the starter not on and no beef for the Sunday roast. No reason was given and the place was not busy. Starter- mushrooms so hard they we hard to cut & very greasy. Mains: vegetables solid inedible not al dente , turkey was mushy, roast potatoes & Yorkshire over cooked, the gravy was thick and tasteless with lumps in, the side order of mash had a crust on top. This was reported and we were offered another choice from the menu or a discount. We refused both we had seen other food being taken back and did not want to wait for more inedible food and we were not complaining for a financial gain, we just wanted for our complaint to be taken seriously. Hopefully by reviewing on here something may be done to improve the food.

We were seated by lovely pheobe who was very welcoming and polite and has a beautiful smile always. Then lovely Tegan took our orders at the bar another member of staff that is always smiling and very welcoming. Our residents chose the fish and chips from the seniors Menu followed by ice cream. They all comented on how lovely the fish was and emptied their plates which doesn't always happen. They all had a great time followed by cuddles with Bella the pub dog. Went for tea to check it out after the refurb and wish we hadn't bothered. Got to be the worst pub food I've ever had seriously it was absolutely awful! Everything was microwaved and they missed half the stuff from the menu descriptions off the food. Just got 3 small plates between us and it took 45 mins to arrive and was terrible. Had to send one of the plates back because the cheese was sprinkled over but not melted. Basic stuff. One of the dishes should have come with hot honey and picked red onion, nowhere to be seen. My wife tried to get some mayo out the bottle but it wouldnt come out, although it was almost full. I opened it and there was a big chunk of mold on the top blocking it 🤢 We gave feedback to the waitress who thanked us for the feedback. No issues with drinks, just the quality of food and time it took to arrive for what it was. Really disappointed, we have always liked having a walk there to eat on summer evenings in the past. We won't be going again.

My wife and I thought we would walk to the Dog and Partridge as it was a nice warm lovely afternoon. I ordered for a starter crispy chicken strips and then the wife and I had the scampi and chips. We decided to have the starter at the same time as the main and I now wished I hadn’t due to waiting 58 minutes to get our food. Presentation wasn’t great but what was clear to see was the number of scampi on my wife’s plate to mine. She had 13 pieces and I had 10. Wasn’t happy can the staff in the kitchen not count. On a plus note the starter was good and staff friendly but wouldn’t come for food again very basic menu and took to long

The pub looks really good now it's had its refurb, bar staff were good, very friendly, good selection of drinks. The thing that hugely let it down was the food, I understand that it's a pub primarily but the food itself was way below average. Overcooked chewy beef (says served pink) cauliflower cheese was harder than cement, roast potatoes were soft and squishy, broccoli didn't taste right either. We feel we didn't get value for money. However we will be back (just for drinks) as there were no problems on that front.

Returning semi-regular customer. Like much of the local community we were keen to try the new D&P and first visited on its second weekend in its new iteration- as some reviewers have noted there were a few teething issues around the issue of dog mess in the garden, and staff seemed a bit overstretched as it was very busy, no doubt the novelty of people checking out the refurbishment. Two weeks later we returned and it was clear the management had taken feedback on board and we spent a very pleasant 3-4 hours in the sunny beer garden, no dog deposits to be seen, with much tighter service. The atmosphere was warm, the staff were friendly and chatty as they served and collected glasses, and outdoor activities had been put all around the beer garden to entertain the younger patrons. Cosmetically the pub looks refreshed; it badly needed a facelift and it looks fantastic inside and out- especially the new terrace. The new management have been keen to stress that the focus on food has shifted from that of the previous tenants, and they are under no pretensions that they are serving gourmet food- if you want a nice bite at a reasonable price then the pub grub they serve is fine. The cask beer was well kept with long-standing favourite Timothy Taylors still available. I couldn’t fault the service, with familiar faces behind the bar as well as new team members. The Scottish lady (manager?) was absolutely lovely, funny, and made a lot of effort with all customers whenever I encountered her during our visit. I wish the Dog every success, we intend to support our local and see it succeed.

Lovely refurb on the pub. Good drinks selection. Food was disappointing, we all had Sunday lunch which was barely warm on serving it to us . We had to ask for a meal that was missing as well as the pigs in blankets that we ordered as extras . All our pudding had to be returned , chocolate brownies arrived cold , the menu said they would be warm and the custard for the crumble was cold. Will definitely pop in for drinks in the future but will give the food a miss.

Six of us have been coming here every Wednesday lunchtime for over 12months but after visiting the past 3weeks we have decided we won’t be coming again. Last week we waited an hour for our lunch, wasn’t worth the wait. Only 2 choices of fillings for jacket potatoes, beans or hunters chicken. Think there must have been a shortage of beans compared to what we would normally have been given. But we decided to give them another chance today ,the jacket and beans were ok but the jacket and hunters chicken(who thought that idea up?) didn’t look or taste like fresh chicken and the extra bbq sauce we asked for because the potato was dry was given cold. On a plus note the young waitress and waiter were both very polite.

After the walk we were welcomed back to the pub with treats for the dogs and a brew for us. My friends and I stayed and talked for a while and ended up ordering lunch. I had Katsu Curry and it was really tasty. The bar staff were friendly and knowledgeable, when I asked for the range of non-alcoholic drinks available. All in all a lovely morning and lunch. The portions are smaller for the Seniors, but we couldn't eat much at lunchtime anyway. The crumble and custard was a good portion and lovely. We were fairly regular visitors , mostly for drinks, occasional food before the refurb. Visited at just after 12noon on a Saturday afternoon, about 3 weeks after the new opening. Really disappointed. Refurb is nice enough, but not really to my taste, it feels more like a poncey hotel than cosy neighbourhood pub, but it’s clean and comfortable. However, we walked in, with a couple of lads not far behind us. Nobody at the bar, there was a young lady cleaning tables, a young man appeared from the back and disappeared again, an older lady talking to customers in the library’ area, but nobody acknowledged the 4 customers standing at the bar- not even to say hello - someone will be with you in a minute… so unwelcoming. When we did finally get served, the barmaid was pleasant enough, but the pump ran out on the bitter ( happens, I know - but we’d already waited about 5 mins or more to be served) so we just took the not quite full pint. I asked for a pinot Grigio, I’m no expert, but almost certainly it was a Chardonnay that I received. Then the server had no idea how to deal with a customer paying cash rather than card. In the meantime the 2 guys who came in just after us were still waiting to be served… but the older lady was faffing with a tea urn, and still chatting to customers who had obviously been in from early for breakfast. Shame, as one of the reasons we liked the pub previously was friendly service, Dexter always recognised regulars, (and we only went in about once a month, but he still knew us) and he acknowledged anyone who walked through the door, with a constant presence at the bar. It’s early days I know, and we’ll give it another try at some point, but a local pub with nobody stood behind the bar to welcome punters, and staff milling about who also don’t even say hi, or acknowledge you’re waiting - well that’s not a great start to new management. Also, the Rope & Anchor , not a quarter of a mile down the road is also refurbed, with welcoming bar staff, we never liked it by comparison to the Dog & Partridge, but may have changed our minds based on today’s experience

What on earth have they done!! Atmosphere is ruined by a has been bouncer, eyeballing everyone from the corner of the room and walking round like he has a point to prove. As a regular and friend of long term regulars, I would have thought the staff would have been friendly, introducing themselves to the regulars at least. I haven't personally tried the food, but I haven't heard anything good. Only bad, slow and undercooked, including the time since a chef has been suspended. The new bar staff are terrible. Charging extra where its not required. Extremely slow, like if they went slower they'd go backwards. Additional star on service is for the old staff, nothing else. The beer garden is apparently covered in dog muck. Be dog friendly yes but have a ruling on muck and be ready to clear some up yourselves too. Prices...... oh christ, we were ready and expecting an increase but wow. Don't charge us extra and serve flat beer. I've lost count of how many flat beers me and my friends have been given. I'll be surprised if the brewery stands for this shambles of a start. Not what people wanted and certainly not what they'll come back for.

Booked a meal for 6.30am got a drink at the bar and the bar person argued when I asked for a receipt. Hadn't been approached to order by 7am so I called a server over and asked if we could order as we had been there for over half an hour. The meals didn't arrive till about 8.30!! Apparently people who turned up without booking were seen to first unexpectedly. 2.5hours to eventually get your food is grossly unacceptable. The food was fine so not a one star.

The staff are well mannered and the place has a casual chilled out vibe to it, coffee is bussin too what with the large verity to choose from just as much as the sweet treats to choose from, strongly recommend guzzling coffee here 👁️🗨️👄👁️🗨️

We were sad when this pub closed so delighted to see it reopened today. Lovely inside, friendly staff. We ordered Two Sunday dinners, one beef, one turkey both were really good. Very tasty and veg cooked perfectly. We will definitely return and good luck to the new owners.

Missing items. The box of Deluxe doughnuts was just the same one. No variety at all

Our first visit to Warrington. Food was standard of a 50’s school dinner but luke warm. Won’t be coming here again.
