Wetherspoons in Poole

Went out for a meal last night, the whole place needed cleaning, most tables had not been cleared. Ordered two fish & chips, was told only one left. Ooted for one and a curry. Fish was not rasting right, ate half, wasn't sure what it was, decided not to eat the rest. On the was home and throughout the night eas throwing up, hot and cold temp and total discomfort during the night. The chef should not have sent out food like that, how long was that fish standing before it bought & went out? Obviously food poisoning. I often eat at Weatherspoons, this was very disappointing and will definitely affect future decisions. The management and kitchen staff need to focus more on this establishment and what they want to achieve. Wont go there again.

A lot more expensive than the other local Spoons, which is to be expected given its location.

Popped in at 08:00 for a coffee while waiting for my daughter to disembark from TS Royalist. Can't comment on food as I didn't have any, but service was quick and polite

It's a spoons - went in when it was packed and still had fast, good service. Can't complain.

Had a steak which was £17.70 not exactly cheap for microwave meal there was more fat than meat on the steak awful food will never go in there again for this dog food

The breakfast menu is offered until noon. I was there shortly before noon. I placed my bag on a table by the window & had to find a chair. The area was a bit smelly & tables sticky. I queued a while as only one server, I just got offer in time! I honestly think, there is no need for this depressing running of pubs, even if they are reasonably priced. Keeping the place clean should not be a problem, but it is. The food took a while, it wasn't hot & the eggs were snotty. I am not sure that made it good value, even at a fair price. I thought of telling them, but I just left. The whole experience didn't leave me feeling happy.

A great place for a light meal during the day.

Breakfast was excellent. The manager was looking after his customers even at that time of the morning

Need a half star system. First off, let's be honest it's a wetherspoons so my expectations are always soooooooooooooo low anyway, our local "spoons" is lovely, in fact comparing it to this hovel makes our local look like the Ritz. Dirty, sticky, smelly. We didn't eat, the mother in law needed to stop and wanted a coffee. From the outside looked okay, enter at your peril. 'nuf said.

Cheap and cheerful with a fantastic view.

Unfriendly staff ,food was rubbish. And the the pub was almost empty. Would not recommend this. My partner asked for American burger. But something that looked like it just come from McDonald's

Very busy right on the quay side

The tables were sticky and, though we understand that Wetherspoons is not up-market, the clientele that day was decidedly rowdy. We had been visiting the Poole Pottery studio about 100 yards along the quay so headed to Wethers for some lunch and to get out of the rain. The best thing I can say about it is that the meal for the 3 of us didn't break the bank as you would expect with Wetherspoons but it's far from being the nicest one I've ever been in. We ate and didn't linger.

Obnoxious Manager ENFORCING no dog rule outside! Pathetic!!!

Food is always great. Staff are great and it's perfect if on holiday or you want good food for a great price. 👍

We all know how cheap it is.had a nice curry and couple of pints of Stella.

The drinks were good and not very expensive. Is a nice place to visit on Friday evening.

Typical Weatherspoon, cheap and cheerful, no issues, served quickly, sticky table, walk in - no bookings. Location is lovely opposite the harbour. No parking.

Nice outside space. That's all I can say really. I had a pizza that was passable. My husband had a burger which was inedible. Burnt , very thin and covered in mustard. My first comment was to ask if it was a child's portion. The waitress was very nice and pleasant. The meal was nothing like the picture and fell a long way short in comparison to other Weatherspoons that we have tried

The food was extremely poor, chips Luke warm, chicken burger, dont bother, chicken strips were more like nuggets, both had bits of lettuce chucked on, that's it and the buns cold. The place was filthy, floors and tables not cleaned at all. there's no excuses for a place to be allowed to get to that state, used to be really good, and to top it of, people vaping inside and the staff taking no notice. Will not ever be going back there again.

Grubby tables and menus, food was cold, but the service was ok

Sold out of fish and chips 🍟 so had sausage chips and baked beans served dry cold and tasteless

Quite a big pub, nice location next to the Quay as well

I was given incorrect order. The woman who took the order blamed us for ordering the wrong thing. I asked for boneless basket but was given chicken bites. i asked if she could exchange the sauce as the honey glaze was awful. She said i would have to pay for BBQ sauce. I had boneless basket at Mary Shelly 2 week's ago, it was excellent. much nicer staff too.

We had breakfast today morning Everything was ok till they messed up with one orders, we ordered 3 set of breakfast and American style pancake which comes with fruits which we were planing to have for dessert But instead of dessert pancake we got American style breakfast Young lady (manager) could sort the problem out Arguing and being rude to costumer No refund, no replacement of order And how they can blame the costumer and ruin their reputation !

Very disappointed in the food. Went last Thursday had what was supposed to be an American burger but it was more like the size of a McDonald's happy meal..no salad no relish..burnt burger..only a handful of chips.

Have been to wetherspoon in many other areas and found them far superior xx

Very very busy on a Sunny Sunday. Took a while to get served. Drink price is exceptionally cheap compared to most pubs. Pint of beer in most Surrey pubs is around £6 here you can get one for around £2. Wine by the glass is at least half the price I am used to being charged. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food.

We ate outside as warm day . Nice friendly staff an tasty food an selection of drinks . Disabled an babies changing toilet downstairs. Ours up stairs. Plus other side of restaurant across the road on quay so you're near the harbour!! No hurry to go which is nice. Dogs welcome as kid friendly. We always go back.!!

It was very busy on our visit and as usual with Wetherspoons it was under staffed. The beer we had was fine. The staff were doing their very best, just not enough of them.

Drinks are reasonably priced but... Service is awful. Bike Night is every Tuesday during late Spring and Summer. They know this. At least 200 bikes descend on Poole Quay every Tuesday. They know this too. Tourists flock to the Quay. They know this... So why do 'Spoons only put on 2 or 3 bar staff and allow huge queues to grow!! The place is annoying! 😠😎

Great staff but getting served on a Saturday night takes a few years. Expect to have cobwebs and everything by the time you finally get served.

Wetherspoons The Quay is right on the Harbour sea front. Seating outside as well as in. Service at counter was good ,but was let down by items not on menu and both hot drinks machines playing up. Busy and staff need to keep on top of cleaning down inside and out . That said a great place to enjoy Poole delights and service was good.

Good ol spoons down the Quay. It is what you'd expect of a spoons. Cheap alcohol and food. Good atmosphere in here most of the time. Sometimes get the odd individual in there but what pub doesn't? Staff are always nice in here, never had an issue. Upstairs opens on busier days and usually in the afternoon.

Very good, weatherspoons is always good for a meal, but it was a shame our meals had been forgotten

Please for the love of god teach your team how to react to customers when they wish to be served, also might be an idea whilst you’re at it show them how to clean tables and clear glasses. Your Executive Training Manager should be ashamed of themselves for not implementing the correct training for these young people! They don’t stand a cat in hells chance if they can’t even clean some glasses when there was less than 50 in the pub , I had to have a white wine in a brandy glass because all the dirty glasses were on a trolley outside the pot wash room !!!!!!

Another visit on bike night, saved by the Poole Arms and the Lord Nelson. July madness. Managers special tonight. I do travel from Coventry for this on bike.

Unfortunately, weatherspoons have gone right down the hill since covid. Prices almost doubled, and portions have halved. The food is overcooked in a microwave and very dry. My daughter is fussy eating and likes cheese on her chips. Paying £2 extra is a joke.

Seemed liked they were getting a audit and the tables all needed cleaning and food had been warmed up and no cutlery took 3 staff to sort it out so giving it a 3 * was kind.

Sitting outside is great but only a limited number of tables available. We thought the large interior was dark with no natural light.not duch a good 4angeof real ales here compared to many other Wetherspoons pubs

Lovely old town and quay front, lots of places to eat. Cornish Whip ice-cream North Street lovely. Multi storey car park nightmare, far too tight getting from one level to next.

Went there on Wednesday had great meals and drinks one of the best weatherspoons we have been in for quality of service and food the location is one of the best with great views of the quayside

We went there because the atmosphere looked good and it didn't disappoint. We went back 4 nights in a row as it was brilliant and the bargain of delicious food and drink was hard to resist.

Ordered two drinks via the app, payment taken, never received. I hope my bank will allow me the charge back . I know it's £8.50 but it's the principle. They denied it too.

Visited this place about a month ago over the long bank weekend. It’s located at prime tourist location where people catch boat/ferry to Sandbanks, Brownsea Island. The place was pretty busy at 5pm. Very big place with nice outside seating facing the sea. Ordered veg pizza and halloumi role. The usual taste and quantity as at any other place. The drinks were really cheap when compared with London! Staff were good and the place was buzzing with families so really nice weekend feel. Another JDW ticked off my list.

Awful , truly awful, the spoons I've visited and I've been to dozens . Meals arrived with half the chips. Was bought out a small bowl of chips. Meals were cold, medium well steal was red. Sent them back, they took the extra chios. Got the new meals exactly the same. I ended up eating mine cold then sat twidking my thumbs whilst my birthday guest ate theirs, the third meal they'd been served. With a huge bowl of complimentary chips neither of us needed or wanted. A pudding would have been more appropriate. Totally ruined the birthday experience. Wethersooons should be ashamed of this outlet. Its a shame because it is an amazing pub let down with poor managment . Maybe that's why it's not paying enough to keep it open. Two hours travelling and over 7 pound parking to be treated so poorly.

Great by the sea pub. Cant believe this Wetherspoons is closing down. Where else can you get endless fill ups of tea and coffee for £1.50.

Needed more staff to help with table clearing and cleaning, food & napkins on the floor, very untidy.

We went for breakfast and the cleaning lady was going around the tables and chairs cleaning everything, tops, seats and legs. I've never seen such attention to cleaning to such a high standard before and I've eaten in a few establishments during my 80 years, I congratulated her on the way out and she was very grateful.

Plenty of staff around on the bar but only one serving and we'll everything was just that little bit sticky

Worst spoons we've ever stepped foot in food was awful orders weren't correct items missing steak which weren't fit for consumption, 12" wrap which was under filled and what looked like it folded by a 2 yr old I know people say you have what you pay for but this was a piss take. Over £100 worth of food good for the bin.

I went there in the morning after having lots of problems to explain what I wanted to order to the waiter , I asked for coffee with oat milk and they said yes we have then added pancakes with NO bacon and paid , after like 10 min waiting I went to the till to see when my order us ready and they gave me a cup and showed me the coffee machine!! when I asked for oat milk for cuppocino they gave me oat milk sachet!! ( that’s fine !! ) Then the pancakes came WITH BACON layered in and two plates of English breakfast ( that was not my order) so after all they took the English breakfast without apology and when I said my order was without BACON they took it away and waited my time for 15 more minutes to bring it back without bacon, and no apology at all !! Worst place and service….

Nice pub, but it lacks atmosphere

Wetherspoons #121 visited. A large two story pub situated in the popular Quayside area of Poole. There is also a second bar on the upper floor serving the near full range of drinks. The pub appears to be a former goods warehouse for the quay. The interior is in rustic brick, wood and metal of the era. Unfortunately this is another pub that is on the Wetherspoons closure list. A somewhat barmy decision by senior management, considering it appears to be a busier pub than the other one situated in the town centre. A decision that will hopefully be looked at and eventually be reversed (as has happened with other branches earmarked for closure). Only stopped off for a quick pint in this branch en-route on a day out in Poole, as had eaten earlier in the other Poole branch of Wetherspoons. Had a quick look at the menu. Food prices appear to be a little more expensive than the other branch in the town. Had a pint of Hunts Raspberry Cider as part of the South West regional Cider Festival. Cost was £2.99 - and much needed refreshment on a warm day! Highly recommend a visit!

A nice Spoons pub on Poole Quay, with 2 floors ground floor & upstairs for adults only. Some nice views, especially when doors all open downstairs at the front of building. Service is generally good, food is ok and what you expect from spoons. Sometimes portions can be small especially chip portions, considering how much you pay for meals nowadays. Drinks/Tea & coffee is good, and the sausage & egg muffin was very nice, and not greasy at all. A good location, especially if your going on harbour boat trips. These leave opposite the pub. Perhaps the best Wetherspoons pub in the area.

They don't have any soft drinks like Pepsi, Pepsi Max or diet Pepsi this is a pub you expect it to have soft drinks in all the time, I went somewhere else

The smell, and ambience put me off. Staff were lovely though, food an drink was good quality

Beautiful hotel will definitely retun next visit to Bournemouth There are steps everywhere in the hotel which is a bit difficult for some but they do have a ramp that has to be put down if needed Loved my stay plenty of exercise up and down hills pushing a wheelchair

Nice enough place..bit gloomy and the burger I had was horrible to eat ...thrown together by some teenager who obviously has no idea of portions for price.

Came in and ordered through app, whilst waiting for order, my drink was cancelled and wasn’t told. Ordered and steak and cooked in correctly, asked for a refund and the staff weren’t even bothered, not even the team leader.

fish and chips 14 pounds with a drink fish was dry over cooked with very little fish not worth more than 10 quid if I hadn't paid in advance I would have sent it back

Very good food at good prices. They do ales which you can try. The value for money is so good. I am really upset that that the pub is for sale. Fairly good service. Always happy to go there. Their Haloumi salad is a bit wanting. The cheese should be diced.🙄

Always quick and pleasant service. Beyond me why there getting rid of this one and keeping the other wetherspoons near Sainsbury's. Should be the other way round ???

THIS WAS APPAULING!! We came as a group and were very abruptly met with a manager. I believe her name was Gemma. The way she behaved towards our group was absolutely disgusting and i have never been met with more disrespect in a place. The majority of the food we ordered came out cold and when we asked for it to be re-cooked and this was refused to happen. All in all im disappointed with the quality of hospitality that we were given and we will NOT be returning.

Food,service, all good, pub looks tired flaking paint on walls and not a cheap option anymore.

A little disappointed with today’s visit ☺️we are here on holiday for a few days and called in for a drink on a very windy day . We sat outside in the corner out of the way as we have our family dog with us (there was only one other person in the area) only to be told that we couldn’t stay as dogs were not permitted in the garden area☹️
