My partner and his father went for food. Stood at bar ten minutes well three staff weren’t taking any notice. When they finally started to take any notice they began serving people who came to bar after them. They left and went to blue bowl. Where always guaranteed a much better service and food! Really need training down there. And a good clean.

We didn't eat here, just had a few drinks. The staff were friendly. However the place wasn't very clean. The tables were very sticky and the seats felt greasy. I think it could do with a deep clean.

As far as Wetherspoon's go, I would say this one is fairly average but the service was really good. Otherwise, expect the usual.

Ahora me siento a desayunar y acabo de mirar y, para mi sorpresa, ¡un cliente está vapeando! ! ! ¡Pero no solo está vapeando por la escotilla de servicio abierto de la cocina, sino que está charlando con un miembro del personal mientras vapea! ! ! ! Cuando dicho miembro del personal pasó, le pregunté si se permitía el vapeo en interiores. Ella dijo que no y que los vapers tenían que salir al área designada para fumar. ¡Señalé que acababa de hablar con un cliente que estaba vapeando justo enfrente de ella justo al lado de la barra! ! ! Ella dijo que no se dio cuenta. Bueno, ella está a punto de hacer la vista gorda o descaradamente para su amiga. Para mí es repugnante y un abandono de su deber.

I have been here on numerous trips to England to visit my mother who lives locally.

Standard wetherspoons, customer service has improved a lot recently, but it's in need of a refit. However the toilets are in desperate need of a deep clean and there seems to be a problem with flies around the self serve coffee machine which needs addressing.

Staff refuse to change barrels when beer runs out even at 8pm. This amounts to dishonesty as they have the stock but refuse to sell it although still advertised. They claim it’s for pipe cleaning the “following” day. I’ve been using Wetherspoons for more than 15 years and this is the only pub that does this. The manager Maria and her husband have no manners and cannot deal with the public.

This im my opinion is the worst Wetherspoons in Bristol 100% Customer service being zero, the bar was sticky full of glasses full of customers one guy serving ridiculous quicker to go to Columbia than get a coffee from this place, on top of that the noise was LOUD kids running around full of undesirables i would have to say, maybe a local place to hang out not one for a person on holiday or just passing thru, oh and dont get me started on the attitude of the staff !!! i will be complaining to the MD about this place straight away

This has to be one of the worst places ive been in a number of years, the staff well one word Miserable the food well two people next to me left there food another had to complain and ours was awful so much so i wrote to complain about it as for the place itself clean it was not and kids running around so noisy Avoid would be my suggestion

Having given this place top marks previously, and spoken to the manager about how delighted we were, on 12 February we visited again with high hopes. Sadly it was not to be. I ordered a burger, to be told by the barman with green highlights they were out of burgers, and the buns. So I ordered mixed grill, only to be told that was off too. So I settled for sausage and mash, a decision I now know to have been wrong. It was disgusting, three industrial grade sausages in a glutinous morass of something which bore little resemblance to mashed potatoes.

I popped in for a quick drink whilst waiting for my fiancé to pick me up. Took my card to the bar along with some change, in case I didn't have enough on me. Eventually paid in change. Somewhere in between the bar and my seat, my card went missing - asked at the bar if it had been handed in after scanning everywhere - barman didn't even check. Just casually stated it would be on the bar - which it wasn't. Asked again if he could double check and he just casually stated "well it will be on the floor" before walking away - he didn't even check behind the till. Extremely rude and disinterested service. Absolutely will not be returning.

After being ignored at the bar... it didn't start well... then 3 people who obviously came to the bar after me was served first..... so by the time I was served the table I had chosen to sit at had been taken by another person... and the girl serving me didn't know the table layout... that I find unbelievable... then offered a table in front of the toilets!!!! The food was served prompt but I was not even offered any condiments...... I had a chicken and rib combo..... never seen such a small set of ribs and they were cold and the chicken was inedible so dry and tasteless... I only popped in on a break from work..... I won t be back

We have had monthly reunion lunches here for several years. Today was special with great food - fish and chips, steaks and a burger. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. (I noticed the kindness and affection shown by a staff member to an old-guy regular)

Visited St George’s Hall for a meal with two friends tonight, they had advertised the app on the table and with posters on the wall so we downloaded it to order our food and drink to the table. My order went through first and the man working behind the bar who delivered my drink commented that it was ‘only a 30 second walk to the bar’. My food was then delivered first and the man commented on how much food I’d ordered, which was not only extremely rude but also seems like the opposite of what a business would be trying to achieve. My friends order was then incorrect, which was rectified but not without a sarcastic comment. Following our meal we ordered more drinks, because they came through as separate orders the bar staff poured them separately and brought them to the table individually - the waitress who brought mine over slammed it down in a very rude fashion. I normally enjoy eating at a Wetherspoons and I think that the app is a very good idea, however the staff at St George’s Hall clearly don’t think so and made that obvious, therefore making our visit uncomfortable - I won’t come here again.

I run a ladies group in Bristol to end loneliness in the Community. The area manager of the Bristol Wetherspoons contacted me and offered to help raise funds for our group. She arranged for Wetherspoon staff all over Bristol to bake and sell cakes. In total I was presented with £500 to end loneliness. My ladies and I often go to Wetherspoons for breakfast or a lunchtime or evening meal. Maria and Damian who are managers at the Redfield branch often organise quizzes for us to enjoy as well. The food is always delicious and at a price we can all afford. Thank you very much Wetherspoons for giving something back to the Community you serve.

For me, the major problem with many Wetherspoon pubs is the management. Insufficient staff, long waits to get served, and poor service generally. This is why it is such a pleasure to come to St George's Hall. Friendly staff, great service, and a manager who...

Came here with our daughter and partner who live locally, and come here regularly. It was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. We got served for food and subsequent drinks easily, standard Wetherspoons fare but excellent value.One thing I did notice was that staff regularly cleared dirty tables, something of a rarity in other Wetherspoons, so top marks to the manager here!

Went in for breakfast on ST GEORGES DAY, to find that the kitchen was closed on ST GEORGES DAY.....this is not the first time that I have been in and the kitchen has been closed for 'unforeseen circumstances'. I have visited many wetherspoons over the last decade and this is the only time I have ever witnessed a kitchen being closed, other than the last time I visited this establishment a few months previous when the kitchen was closed yet again!!The worst wetherspoons I have ever visited by far! There was a female manager on this particular morning who was nothing but rude about the fact that the kitchen was closed, and seemed more interested in 'other things' than dealing with the customers. Staff seemed miserable, won't ever go here again

Went in for a quick beer on Easter Sunday, first of all there was not a single staff behind the bar. After about a 15 minute wait, a bored a looking bar girl, without enquiring in what order we were waiting, proceeded to serve the first customer in front of her who was probably the last to arrive. My cardinal sin was that I raised an objection to this hence when she eventually came to me she was already primed to inflict a condescending slap on the wrist. When I asked for a pint she finished my request with a patronising "please?" and subsequently and literally threw my change down on the counter adding, again quite patronisingly, " go and chill out in a corner and enjoy your drink" and stormed off to the next customer. Unbelievable to think that I was paying to get this appalling attitude. I duly made a complaint to the on site manager who frankly looked as if I was an irritant to be endured. As I write, I'm still yet to receive any acknowledgement or feedback of this complaint. Be warned, you visit at your peril.

We called in to St Georges Hall on impulse and discovered on our arrival that it was a special 'steak' evening. The menu is typical of a Weatherspoons establishment, very varied, reasonably priced and caters for all tastes. We both chose the sirloin steak which was delivered to our table promptly, cooked as we had requested and nicely garnished with chips, mushroom and tomatoes. To be honest, having been to this establishment on previous occasions, I have never considered it to be my favourite Weatherspoons,- can be a bit noisy and intimidating at times, but on this occasion, the atmosphere was family orientated, very helpful and friendly staff, and all in all, a very pleasant experience.

A booking had been made, however on arrival there no knowledge of the booking by the staff. After the confusion they managed to arrange our seating. The service and the meal was okay, sadly there was some drama concerning another guest, which put a dampner on the visit. The staff apologised for the insident, so thanks for trying.

We live in the neighborhood, but it's the first time we go. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food and prices are very good. The atmosphere is spacious, clean and bright. We will return of course.

Could be very good, but needs some money spent on it, a lick of paint,new chairs etc. Im not convinced that the tables get cleaned much. This evening was waiting for my curry to be told that everyone had to leave now as pub was being closed down for unknown reasons under instruction of the area manager, would have scored 3 but for the inconvenience caused this evening

This is one of the better Wetherspoons in Bristol, beer is well kept, and the food is very good. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere means we'll often be found here when we can't be bothered to cook.

NYE 2015 we popped into this pub for the midnight countdown and it was quiet, but nice to be able to have a conversation and get to the bar. This year, we thought we should make it a tradition so wandered down only to find miserable bar staff who didn't even turn the TV on for the countdown and so we missed it, sat there somber, while the bar staff frowned at the 20 unfortunate souls who had also picked this pub to bring in the new year. No music, no atmosphere, miserable staff. No custom.

We were looking forward to a visit to St George's Hall and the Christmas market on the plateau as it was my husbands birthday in 23rd December and we wanted something Christmassy. We arrived to find the market had closed on 22nd!! What Christmas market is closed on the Friday before Christmas?! We then went into St George's Hall which usually has excellent events and I have to say it was awful!! Wouldn't it have been better to have a Christmas theme at Christmas? It was all over in 4 minutes! We were completely underwhelmed. At £28.00 for 2 adults and 1 child it's a rip off!! It has put me off going to St George's Hall and think I will choose another city to visit a Christmas market which is actually open at Christmas!!!

Stopped here for a meal when staying overnight in Bristol. The food was tasty and the beer great value, but I felt that the look and feel of the inside of this pub was a little tatty. Service was prompt, and the food was hot.Worth a try if in the area, but I think there are nicer Wetherspoons pubs in the city.

I like Wetherspoon's in general, you know what you are going to get - a good range of drinks and a fairly extensive menu - all at reasonable prices. I had eaten here once before and a number of my walking group popped in here for lunch today, we had no problems finding some adjacent tables (unusual for a spoons). Service at the bar was polite and efficient and the food arrived quite quickly. Typical Wetherspoon's fare, everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I'd have no qualms about returning here.

I've been in Wetherspoons St Georges Hall many times. I like the food, they have nice full english breakfast. Very nice prices as well.I always turned blind eye on dirty, greasy tables, spider webs in the corners... It's also in very old building, you can tell by it's look and smell. It's very specific, opposite to word "modern'.I visited St Georges Hall this weekend, and I am even more saddened.They took away Roast Dinner offer on Sundays. They also taken filtered coffee option (which you buy once and refill as needed). I was mainly visiting them because of the tasty food and drink at cheap price. This was my last time. Now I will rethink where to go instead of this pub.

St George's is the best place in Bristol by far to listen to classical music. Great variety of events and marvellous acoustics. Also an excellent unfussy website.

Although it's quite mediocre it should do its purpose...that is to fill your tummy. We usually go to this weatherspoons pub once in a while cos it's convenient and accessible and affordable pub grub. Since it's a pub expect a few drinkers even at 10am. Be prepared to see dust and old chairs though...

Nice quiet atmosphere for sadly, a wake, after my Mother passed away, only 6 of us, two travelled from Luton & Milton Keynes, the food was very good for the price, staff friendly and we have no complaints at all.Thank you Wetherspoons.

I visited here over 12 months ago and gave it three stars then. Have visited a couple of times since and feel it is getting shabbier and shabbier. It now seems more a magnet for cheap drinking and less of an eating place for families. I ordered fish and chips. There weren't any which is pretty much a staple and apparently this isn't the first time they had run out. I had the scampi which was edible but that is all that can be said.Staff are friendly but this Wetherspoons is in desperate need of a make over.

My fiance and I came back for a 'late lunch' at Weatherspoon. I had a nicely done mixed grill and my fiance had fish and chips. The food was accompanied by Merlot and wheat beer Erdinger . Great late afternoon

The Staff in This place are very attentive and polite like all weatherspoons i have been in.Although the pub was busy i was served quickly.The food is cheap but good for the price.Redfield has looked a bit shabby over the last few years.I was very happy to walk in to the warm from a cold nasty day.

My niece came for holiday in England for the first time and she wanted an English breakfast so I took her to Weatherspoon as I live near and we were happy with the food and service. The food was good and served fast for the price we paid. Also the waiter check us if we are happy with the food. Great job guys !!!

We were in a rush so we knew we just wanted something quick and easy, so ordered the rump steak. When it arrived there were no peas or tomatoes and was told it was 'the special!'. Overcooked cardboard steak which I think must have been microwaved and was really disappointing. Our lady server was really apologetic but they need to improve the food rather than let her have to take the brunt of the negative comments. We were offered a free drink but had to leave. We won't be returning.

I want this to be a great place...but it's not!I live very local to this Wetherspoons so it would be a fab place to use as a local if only it wasn't so flipping awful!!After taking my chances on this place many times recently I have finally decided to throw in the towel!!I have visited evening time for a steak deal to discover they don't have the wine to go with the deal, and will not provide a substitute..so basically NO DEAL!Lunch time Mexican Monday...order a borritto, but don't expect any sour cream or fresh chillies...and don't be suprised when your chicken is microwaved within an inch of it's life, making it like chewing on carpet backing!!If you do want to tell the bar staff that there is a problem with your meal, you have to wait in the bar queue whilst your food is getting even colder than it was to begin with, to mention something that you were promised in the first place to be on your plate and was not! What ever happened to someone coming over and asking you if your meal is ok???This wetherspoons is unfortunately a let down to the weatherspoons chain, it's really ill managed and this is pretty shocking as this place has a fantastic community around it, some very accommodating and friendly staff and we all (usually) love Spoons!! It could seriously do with a good management team!!Shame!

I popped in here in passing as it looked very attractive from the outside and I was slightly peckish. I experienced great service from Eoin at the bar, the food was quick, hot and tasty and the real ale range was exceptional. I don't leave many reviews but thought this one was very well deserved.

Been here more than a normal amount in the last month or two, and have given more than enough chances and I cannot understand why 100% of the time they get part of the order wrong.I cannot understand how difficult it must be to remember what to put on an order, I don't know how their system works but it doesn't work, and it wouldn't be so bad but they don't try to compensate for it by giving you anything extra etc. and it happens every time.

We ordered a mixed grilled and the tomatoe wasen'cooked,the mushroom wasen't cooked insted of the portion of rump steak we haved a portion of sunday roast beef the food was could and the lamb was really very small we are rally disapointed :(

My partner's daughter works a lot and so it was a very pleasant surprise last night when she announced that she had a night off. We decided to visit our local Wetherspoons for their steak night. All of our meals were good value and arrived in good time. Also cooked to perfection. We also took up their offer for two steaks with a bottle of wine which turned out to be a nice Hardys Chardonnay. You know what to expect from a Wetherspoons and I am puzzled that some of the reviews are so negative. These restaurants are designed to be family friendly and they have come a long way in the last two years or so. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This is your typical Wetherspoons - cheap pub grub (although not as cheap as it used to be I feel) and cheap booze. The mixed grill is reasonable, but was told you can only have the steak well done when you choose this. It's a small piece, but can't understand the logic behind only being able to have it well done. Surely you can just not put it on the grill as long?! The breakfast always goes down well when hungover too! The staff are friendly enough, and I've never had to wait an excessive time for food or service at the bar. No matter what Spoons you go in, and no matter the time of day, there always seems to be the regulars in there - older men nursing their pints. I would say this is a good place for anyone wanting good honest pub grub, but don't come here for a quiet relaxing meal.

Cheap with a laid back atmosphere. There is good food and drink but very poor service. Had to wait over 40 mins for average portions.

The food is awful over cooked the chef can't cook beans it's sad it's ok if you like awful microwave food

good place to meet friends. cheap and cheerful, good range of beers and ciders. place needs a slight overhaul but worth a visit.

Lots of real ale and choice of good ciders. Massive pub which is open quite late (1am I think) and is cheap, like most Wetherspoons! A few of the usual type of crowd on Friday and Saturday nights but isn't horrendous and is usually fairly quiet.

Noisy pub, poor food and slow service - there are plenty of better places very close by.

We have been going there for over two years.Old movie theatre, Cary Grant photos all over the place, even a fireplace in the winter...used to be a great little place to go.Now, however, they have decided to "Go Upscale", they no longer even have the drink prices on the bar list, I can only assume it is because the prices rising too rapidly in to keep track of.....!The food was never great, but it was okay for the price...even the food is getting very pricey, they have a curry for two for £15.00..? no deal there, as it's all mass produced rubbish, and you can get a real curry for the same priceAnd just in case you're thinking of keeping warm by the fire, they now have, plain wood chairs to sit on, no cushioning at all,I guess they want the customers to drink and go?How can you take a great idea and product which is very successful, and turn it into a "loser"?Wetherspoons is leading the way !
