Westway Fish & Chips in Luton

Just had the best cod &:chips ever beautiful batter & very nice cod not greasy at all & chips cooked fresh & very nice welcome by staff thankyou very much appreciated

I stopped going to Westway even though it’s closest to me, as the food was of poor standard. I went on Friday just to get a pukka pie. The bloke was rude, obnoxious, I had to wait for my pie. Even though it wasn’t at all busy. The pie was already cooked when I entered the shop. No wonder the place was empty

Just had cod and chips for the first vīst to West way in quite a while , probably the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time.

Fish cooked feom scratch and was succulent , staff friendly, even got blue light discount !! Best fish and chips ever !!!

Tried most of them around Luton, this tops the lot! Go there every other week...to go more frequently...dangerous!

This place needs to learn how to cook chips, I live on the next street and it was still delivered cold. Chips where over done. Most of them where purple and black. My sausage was a joke too. All went in the bin. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Had fish and chips tonight , freshly made and tasty , support your local chippy and not those multinationals such as KFC and dominos etc. They'll survive this pandemic with you but not your local chippy without local support

We have used Westway chippy a few times since opening after lockdown, I’m afraid the last two times we found our fish and chips too greasy, not sure what’s changed but it effected the old digestion.

We booked fish and chips for our Messy Church team meeting at Stopsley Baptist Church last night. Great service from deciding on the order to booking it by phone, to delivering it to church still hot and all labelled up. So easy to deal with and the food was delicious. Thank you!

Second visit since the previous owners left, friendly staff , tasty chips and battered sausage, lovely community chippy !!! Highly recommended

I used to use westway before new owners took over and if anything it has only improved. Food is always fresh and hot and plenty of selection on the menu. I cannot fault the staff always friendly and helpful. 100% reccomend

Service is ok, a young child working in the evening (after 8pm) is a bit bizarre. Chips were greasy and bitty. Fish servings are a lot smaller, however prices have gone up. Greasy after-taste, not nice at all.

We used Westway for an event at our church and had a huge order. Everything was so perfect.. the order was on time and exactly right... the team were so organised, friendly and helpful. Will definitely use them for our next event, the food was delicious!

The new ownership has asked for feedback after our first experience with them: Additional care for frying time is needed as fish batter was uncooked in places. Chips were also slightly uncooked. Curry sauce was cold. Will try again in a few weeks time to give the new owners time to settle in. Service was good and friendly

Went for my dinner, had a lovely piece of Gurnet well cooked lovely chips very good chip shop. Would be going back again.

Great fish and chips. Others in local area have won awards. These in my opinion have been overlooked.

Fish a d chips takeaway. We use on a regular badis. Fish cookrd fresh as you wait. Good quality and the chips are not soggy as in some chip shops. Sligbtly expensive but worth the extra money.

It is well and truly open. You may have caught them having a holiday break where they shut down for a couple of weeks. But just had some of the best Fish & Chips around. 8th August, 2017.

Called 12noon last Tuesday, which is advertised (in Big Red Directory) as open, but the shutters were down and it looks as if its shut permanently!

I've been here many times and i will go back again and again, if anyone wants a proper local fish and chip shop then look no further, this place is excellent

They serve some of the best take away I have had!!! And they are so friendly!! They always remember that I like curry sauce too

Luton is lucky to have several fab chippy establishments but this for service AND food is the best!!

Lovely fresh fish and chips. Fish batter is crispy and nicely cooked to order. Servings are getting slightly smaller, but still delicious!

This chip shop is always busy. Staff always friendly. Large fis and chips is enough for two to share.

Slightly more expensive than average fish and chips but great food never had a bad experience . I would defiantly day best chips in Luton

Just revisited. Again best chips in area. Perfectly cooked and much better and cheaper than the over-hyped wigmore chippy

Service was fast and good, fish and chips was decent and crispy. Good for family days out. Definitely worth another repeat visit.

Been using the place for years after my son-in-law told us about Westway. The food has never let us down in all that time and now I also supply fish & chips to those attending a charity quiz night we hold every year, most only come for the food!!!Do not miss out go to Westway for the best fish & chips.

We have a number of Fish & Chip options in this part of Luton and I think this one is best. It is always busy, the fish always tastes fresh and the portions are good. Indeed, some people who stay with us regularly always ask if we can have fish & chips. They say it is better that they get at home - and they live on the coast!

Now living in the Grimsby area, I am used to good fish and chips, so was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was from here. The cod was large, well battered and well cooked and the chips were perfectly cooked. If I had bought these from one of Grimsbys award winning chippies, I would have been well happy!

Fish and chips is an occasional treat in our household, and typically a fallback when we're running late or can't be bothered to cook. We always share a portion of chips as you get far too many, and I prefer a pie to cod simply because I find a whole piece of fish too much for me. As always, it was good wholesome fare. Always hot and freshly cooked as they are always busy at peak hours.

Best fish n chips ever. We moved near to this chip shop nearly 2 years ago and decided to try it. The food is so good that we usually get something from there once a week. Have family visit us on a regular basis and they always want fish n chips from this place. Very popular with locals and often find customers queuing outside. Well recomend.

A bit hit and miss. My family has fish and chips every Friday (why would you have anything else on a Friday?!) and we used to be regular customers at Westway. Unfortunately, we seem to get a different experience each time we go. Just to be clear, the staff are lovely. They're very helpful and will take telephone orders if you've got a big order. However the food can sometimes taste like it's been left in the heater too long, or have a strange taste. About once a month we get a really nice batch of fish and chips (or sausage...) but it's too rare for me to keep going there. They have a range of food on offer, such as sausages, battered sausage, scampi, spam fritters and microwaved Pukka Pies.

Always very busy, very efficient quick service. Fish sometimes a bit greasy. Had some chips recently and were very old brought as they opened for evening. Pity don't do half portions of chips. Would recommend.

This is my local fish and chip take away and it is surprisingly good. It can be found off Putteridge Road turning right at the small roundabout when you come up from Jansel House before you get to the schools at the top of Putteridge Road.The portions are nice and big and its good value although the main reason I do not give it five stars is that it could be cleaner and they never have anything other than cod ready to go so you may have to wait if you want anything else.Plenty of parking.
