Great chip shop, had a spam fritter & chips, very reasonable price, chips were fresh & cooked well, fritter was perfect. The person behind the counter deserves higher than the maximum 5 stars too ✨

Chips are good, staff seem friendly, fish is nice..

I’ve been getting a sausage and chips from here most weeks since it was taken over. The chips are the best around. They are cooked in small amounts so not left in the drainer. You have to wait a few minutes but worth the wait. On Friday I went for a piece of Cod. I’ve got to say, it was one of best bits of fish I’ve had. My favourite chippy is in Weymouth, but this was on par. Big flakes of fish and batter wasn’t greasy at all. Would highly recommend and just wished I’d taken a photo!

Most disgusting chips, and sausage batter. Curry sauce wasn’t even curry sauce look like someone was sick🤮. Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Waste of money, my dog wouldn’t even eat the sausages batter. Nothing was fresh or tasty about this fish and chip shop.

Great service although when I got home I realised the cod bites where the ends of old cod fillets with hardly any fish

Went for supper while visiting family. Nice choice of fish, cod, hake or plaice. I went for hake over cod. It was a bit dry. Portions good. May Tey again another day.

So so lucky to have this fish and chips shop on our doorstep. Crispy light batter and good chips

Paid for meal upfront asked how long will it take was told 6 to 8 minutes went to the shop and came back 8 minutes later to see my order in the hotplate waiting 5 minutes later a local came in with the same order and she gave him what I ordered then I had to wait again for them to cook my order total of 25 minutes wait If your not on first name terms you might just see your order going out the door and you having a long wait Very bad service!

For the many months I have been popping into Bushmead fish bar for myself and sometimes for a neighbour as well. The Haddock is excellent, chips are lovely too.

I visit Bushmead fish whenever we stay in on a friday. I also collect an order for two elderly neighbours. I can honestly say the orders have all been of excellent quality and if we had visited a quality restaurant and been served similar quality we would have been very satisfied. It does seem however that some people only look for something to complain about. Hopefully regular satisfied customers will read rubbish reviews and laugh. 👍

nice food but unfortunately they don't where their masks whilst preparing our food. went in for fish and chips a few weeks ago and one of the cooks actually coughed (without her mask) into the fryer. disgusting!

Ready 7/8 mins after ordering freshly on arrival, just as promised. Great food and very friendly staff. Well presented in bag.

Really nice tasty chips, they are thick cut style. Also I was impressed at how crispy the batter was on the sausage. Friendly service and covid secure. Will return regularly!

Best fish and chips for a very long time. Crispy batter - firm chips. all cooked so well. Even a smaller portion at a discount for persons over a certain age. What's not to like.

Unfortunately our local fish and chip shop has really deteriorated. For the second time running the chips bought from here were uneatable. Even though I waited around 10 minutes for them to be ready, they were hard, uncooked and just horrible. I won't be eating from here again.

I regularly go to the Bushmead fish and chip bar as it’s got friendly staff, lovely food and competitive prices. The children’s meal are a real bargain and I am able to phone up and pre order chicken or chicken nuggets and pick up. Cannot fault.

First visit and amazing fish and chips. The fish and chips weren't soaked with oil and tasted amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again......Great service with a smile

Earlier today I brought some fish and chips, the fish tasted really fresh and I could tell it was made with love... The chips were delicious, very juicy.

Steadily going downhill. Won't be going again as always have to wait ages....appreciate that chips can't always be ready and waiting but seems that the staff are never prepared for orders! Anaemic batter on sausages and fish - just generally soggy and unappealing. Two female members of staff behind the counter, one very young and one older lady. The young female happily displayed a love bite on her neck and is not a good advert for the business. Quite frankly, she put me off my long awaited and disappointing food.

This is a very clean good fish bar,staff very friendly and polite,food fresh and very tasty! A very good chippy well needed .. keep up the good work!

Had a great experience at this chippy! The girls are lovely, very welcoming, polite and clearly working hard. The fish was nice and so were the chips and I love that they now do a smaller meal for the kids. Not to mention the shop is lovely and clean. Would recommend :)!

Large cod - Bater like cardboard and no flavour. Poor piece of Fish looked like it had been flattend thin to make it look larger! Could have been left over from lunch service. Not good at all. Worst I have eaten in Luton.

Pretty standard menu for a modern chippie. Unfortunately either the potato or the cooking method is not quite right. Many of the chips are small and the larger ones don't seem quite cooked enough.

Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news. But our new fish bar was not a very pleasant experience.

This chip shop is a welcome addition to Bushmead after the previous Chinese and chips closed down (although it was always full, so I never really understood why). Great chips, well cooked with a good selection of mains - fish, sausage etc. Sadly not open on Mondays which is often the day I really can't be bothered to cook!

Went there last week. Fish is always good. Sausage is superb! Chips are proper English chips with some crisp bits, nice. Staff always polite and helpful. All in all a good old fashioned fish and chip shop! Well done b
