I've visited this restaurant for dinner with my family and we absolutely enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and the food is a absolute delight. Variety on the menu is more to fulfill one's requirements. The prices are affordable compare to other places arround with the ambience, service and good food. Definitely a place to visit for any occasion.

This is the in-house restaurant of Park Plaza Park Royal (reviewed separately on here) although it's open to non-residents. I had dinner here on two early evenings while a guest at the hotel. It's been open a couple of years and unfortunately the dining proposition has steadily declined. It started out brilliantly, with a vibrant menu, great tasting dishes (notably the signature range of pies) and superb value for money. Then, perhaps as a result of either changing chefs and/or the finance department running the show in the name of increasing the GP, the menu changed and the quality went downhill. The menu is relatively short with classic British dishes, such as fish & chips, steak and burgers, plus a few pasta and pizza dishes. Nothing extravagant but in itself that's fine, as the menu provides dependable dishes that will appeal to most people. For whatever reason, the signature range of pies, having previously expanded, has now reduced to just one which is a shame as they were very tasty and a genuine USP for eating here. As I wrote in my previous review, it felt like the restaurant had lost of its way, with the dishes being rather bland and unexciting, as if the kitchen was simply going through the motions rather than being passionate about serving great food. OK, it's not a fine dining restaurant but that doesn't mean you don't make an effort in what you serve to your customers. This time around, it had declined further. To start with, a number of dishes weren't available, including all the pizzas. This omission continued for the second evening which suggests the pizza bases are delivered, as it doesn't take much to freshly knock up a few more if you've sold out from the previous night's service. On the second night, there were no sweet potato fries. Given I had eaten them the night before on a less than busy Sunday evening service, this suggests low stock and/or poor ordering. In simple terms, if you've run out of fries by Monday, you've had your chips. The chicken kebab starter was under-seasoned and lacking in any taste apart from just grilled chicken and peppers. There was no evidence of any marinading or attempt to add flavour to the dish, ideally with some chilli or any heat, to offset the raita dip. Even worse was that the chicken wasn't cooked and I had to send it back. I'm fine with pink lamb or pink and eat my steak rare but draw the line at grey chicken in the middle of the chunks on the skewer. That's a 'never' event: it should never happen in a professional kitchen. It was evident from just looking at the kebabs that they were not cooked enough so I have no idea why they were even allowed to leave the pass. Both the servers were very apologetic and it was removed from my bill which is fine by way of apology but doesn't excuse it happening in the first place. The main course beef short rib was OK on the first evening but way over-cooked on the second evening, to the point of being almost too chewy to eat. If you are marinading the ribs for 24 hours - as the servers told the kitchen does - then firstly they should not be this chewy and secondly, by so doing you negate all the preparation time & effort of the marinading. On the first night the dish was served with a carving knife and bowl of dipping sauce but on the second night without either of them, so the presentation was inconsistent and lacking attention to detail. I remember when the beef ribs were added to the menu, as the then general manager saw me arrive down for dinner and came over to tell me with great enthusiasm and pride that the ribs were brilliant and I really should try them: I did and he was right as they were very tasty and a huge portion. Now the portion size is, I would say, at lest 50% smaller, another indication that an accountant is in charge of the portion control and is looking to costs and/or maximise GP. This was a shame as some of the other dishes, notably the buttered vegetable and buttered green beans sides and especially the duo of cheesecakes dessert were really tasty and enjoyable. In previous dinners, I've struggled to spend £40 on dinner, including a pint of lager, because the prices were so reasonable. On these two occasions, my bill was closer to £50, before allowing for my tier membership discount from the RHG loyalty program and the starter being removed from one bill. So the food isn't as good, the portion sizes are smaller and the cost is bigger...hmmmm, not the most sustainable or appealing of dining propositions. On the plus side (there is always a plus side somewhere), service was attentive and friendly. Both Vito and Taylor remembered me from previous visits and they were very welcoming, especially Taylor whom I notice had been name-checked in other reviews on here and deserves recognition. I did feel a bit sorry for them as they were doing their best but their service was writing cheques that the kitchen wasn't cashing in terms of what it was giving them to serve. I was in the restaurant by 6pm and there were no more than a half dozen other covers seated so service was not busy by any means, which is why the lack of consistency from the kitchen is even more disappointing. Overall this was a poor performance from the kitchen. The management need to understand that their attempts at cost cutting are a blunt instrument that is all to plain to see and is affecting the dining proposition, as well as the guest proposition on the hotel side. Being located where it is, its does have somewhat of a captive market as Acton isn't blessed with a plethora of places to dine but that doesn't mean you can serve up uninspiring - and in one instant partially uncooked - cuisine. Thanks for reading.

Taylor served us and she was very lovey and attentive without being too overbearing. Unfortunately the dinner that we had was inedible but the breakfast the next morning was beautiful.

Staff unattentive, eating area always untidy/unclean, lack of food choices (i.e. cannot cater for the numbe rof breakfasts properly). Evening meal overpriced and just about edible as they were more like [expensive] microwave meals rather than a quality/smart hotel.

I ate dinner here on two evenings while staying at Park Plaza Park Royal (reviewed separately on here) of which this is the in-house restaurant. Since it opened with the hotel in Spring 2017 I’ve eaten here a number of times and in the past have been impressed by the quality of the food and value-for-money of the dishes. Since my previous meal the menu has changed, in fact I think I was eating on the first or second night of the new menu. While the menu is still supposed to be modern British, a number of the previous ‘signature’ dishes – including the excellent range of pies – have been replaced with new dishes. These represent a more diverse choice of dishes, such as beef or pork ribs, but I’m not they still reflect the modern British theme. The menu is succinct – single sheet of A4 for starters, mains & desserts – and there is no shortage of staple dishes, such as fish & chips, steak, pasta and burgers. I ordered the beef rib on one evening and the pork rib on the other: the beef rib was really good – a generous portion of delicately marinated beef that had been slow-cooked for long enough that the meat was soft and full of flavour. The pork rib was less good, with the cut being such that the meat was too difficult to easily prise from the bone, even when you tried to suck it in your mouth rather than use a knife & fork. The bbq sauce was smokey and sticky as it should be but it was too challenging in getting the pork off the bone to properly enjoy with it. Both ribs were also served without a finger bowl or any separate cloth, so you had to try and use just the table serviette that turned to mush long before the dish was complete. If you are serving ribs, you should provide a finger bowl and not doing so is a catering-101 error. The side order of sweet potato fries was great on one evening (properly crispy and well done on the outside) and average on the next (undercooked and insipid). The side orders of mushrooms and cauliflower cheese was satisfactory but mainly because I was hungry; both lacked a depth of flavour and were too bland. For dessert, the previous Mars cheesecake had also been replaced, its successor a simulacrum lacking distinct flavour and rich taste. With the exception of the generous plate of ribs, the portion size seemed to have shrunk: a classic indicator of a kitchen run by an accountant with an eye on the GP rather than by a chef with an eye on impressing their diners. Service was attentive and friendly, although turning up before 6pm to eat when there were almost as many servers working as there were diners eating, it would have been hard to justify it being anything else. The bill for dinner – main course, couple of sides, dessert and a couple of drinks – was around £38-£42, net of my member’s dining discount as part of Radisson Hotel Group’s loyalty program. Without it, the bill would have been closer to £50. With the old menu, I struggled to spend £35 on dinner and left feeling not just full up but like I had been entertained to some creative and skilful cooking. With the new menu, I spent more and left feeling less than full and a bit underwhelmed. I know that there have been some adjustments in the restaurant – a new F&B manager? – and the hysteresis created by the change in personnel is clear to see and experience. The situation has been exacerbated by a new menu, as some of the staff are relatively new and so don’t have the relaxed familiarity with their environment as well as confidence in knowing the menu’s contents. Overall I felt somewhat disappointed. In my opinion the new menu is a move backwards and loses the standout dishes. The dining proposition lacks impetus and a coherent delivery; the place feels like it needs a strong F&B manager to increase the consistency of the dishes by getting the kitchen to up their game. Thanks for reading.

The food here is fine. However I would only go here if you're a hotel resident. Even in a hell-hole like Park royal you'll be unlucky to find worse service. When i stay at this hotel i either go for room service, or make an hour round trip to London to eat anywhere else.

The restaurant itself is very busy in the morning with staff unable to keep up with the flow of people. The evening is mostly quiet..staff are useless apart from one member whom I believe is called Shannon or Sharon, this girl was amazing, She was well mannered took time to care for my elderly mother and seemed to be the only staff member working! Thanks to her my evening mean was pleasurable.

I dropped in with a colleague one evening as we were staying nearby with work. The menu looked good, and I’m usually pretty confident that in a place attached to a hotel such as this one, I’ll be able to easily get something I can eat as a vegan, I mean at least one menu option, I have low standards, I understand that you can’t cater to every diet, but food allergies, intolerances and restrictions are a thing, and with an international clientele you expect that to be catered for. Unfortunately that proved difficult. The waiter did not understand vegan, and when I explained I didn’t eat dairy egg or meat, directed me to the macaroni cheese. When I explained again, he told me I could have the vegetable curry, I asked him if maybe he could check this in the kitchen, as he seemed unsure. He walked away and asked another waiter, then came back and told me that I could have the curry. I asked about the naan bread, typically made with yogurt, and got no satisfactory answer. When the food arrived it came with the naan bread, which I didn’t eat. The curry appeared to be very creamy, and I checked again with the waitress who confirmed it was dairy free. However since eating this I have been unwell due to lactose intolerance I also attempted to check the website for dietary information which was not available. All in all, give it a big miss if you have any kind of allergy/intolerance/dietary restriction. I’m pretty easy going, but it shouldn’t be so hard to get an answer on whether or not I can eat the food served.

Booked a table on line as we were staying here and didn’t want to go out, the restaurant was empty! The food was very nice, my fish a tad over cooked but on the whole it was good. It is pub food, but despite being in a hotel it was reasonably priced. We had 2 courses, wine and it was 73 pounds, though part of this was a service charge.

I was staying at the hotel on business so thought I'd try the restaurant in the evening. The staff were friendly and attentive and service was quick. I went for the garlic mushrooms on sourdough which were nice. For main, I had the chicken kiev which was clearly homemade which is a big plus point. Unfortunately, I found the chicken itself to be a little on the dry side. The chips were crisp and tasty. Prices were pretty good for a hotel restaurant in London. I would eat there again.

Good food but posh hotel prices made it feel over priced for what you got - and not happy about service charge being automatically added - should be optional not just presented as it was which made feel rude asking for it to be taken off
