The day of my visit clashed with about 50 submariners coming into the bar area after a service in the area. Didn’t bother me as my partner & myself were booked upstairs for a meal. The service however wasn’t good & the two staff members didn’t seem to have much clue about my booking or about the birthday club meal deal? There was also a lack of customer service by one individual behind the bar. I asked for a pint of spitfire but told it wasn’t on & I needed to go back downstairs & order it there? My partner only wanted a soft drink but for some reason only 2 choices given? I went to get my beer but the bar was 5 deep by this time with the Navy so luckily I met the other staff member who I was able to persuade to pour my pint after he wanted me to have a bottle of beer from upstairs? The food I would say was okay although for some strange reason my starter came with both mains? After the meal the male staff member tried to explain about the meal deal suggesting that the starter would be ignored & that the cheaper of the mains would be deducted from the bill? I explained that it’s normal that the cheapest main is deducted at any other Shepherd Neame pub for this birthday promo.

Came across this by chance, had a few beers to try and had a bite to eat. Had opted for the steak, which was quite expensive for the type of pub we were in. I asked for a medium steak but unfortunately it was not medium. For the price I expected something better, but it wasn't. I thought the atmosphere was ok and you felt like you were in a real pub and there was plenty to do.

After a long walk around westminster abbey we were beat and needed some good lunch. We found it in this pub! The staff was very friendly and talked to us about our travels. We got some of the biggest burgers we've had and tried sticky toffee pudding for the first time! Not the cheapest food in town but you are right in the heart of London so it's probably pretty competitive for the area. Definitely worth a stop if you need a rest.

We had just arrived in the Westminster area on our planned walking tour of the surroundings when the heavens opened up and started to drench us. We sought shelter in the Westminster Arms along with dozens of other bedraggled tourists. The ground floor area was absolutely packed but we climbed up the rickety stairs to the 1st floor. Here the gentleman behind the bar told us that they were full, but fortunately a couple of gentlemen occupying a table for 6 persons slid over to make room for our party of 4. So nice of them! We then settled in to look at what the food menu was like. We didn't have much of an appetite so we restricted ourselves to sharing a plate of nachos, a sausage roll, a Scotch egg based on chorizo and a couple of servings of sticky pudding. For drinks we focused mainly on fruity ciders. The service provided by both the older gentleman and the young lady behind the bar was great - friendly and efficient! By the time that we left we had dried out a bit and were glad that our little pit stop here had been so pleasant. Thank you!

The upstairs is quite busy most of the time, but the downstairs wine bar is a lot nicer for atmosphere, in my opinion. Great service and solid choices. Not cheap but that's a location problem more than anything else, there are much more costly places nearby. My recent visit to The Westminster Arms left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the bar staff fell short in terms of hospitality. Their condescending attitude and mocking of our accents left a sour taste in our mouths. One bartender, in particular, was consistently snarky and displayed rudeness. While the drinks were acceptable, the overall experience was marred by the unwelcoming atmosphere. If you're seeking a friendly and pleasant pub environment, I recommend exploring other options. Avoid this pub at all costs. This pub is a tourist trap and isn't even an authentic representation of a British pub. They are incredibly rude to customers because they don't have to advertise or work to earn business...this close to Westminster, tourists just walk in on their own. We tried to come and eat at the downstairs wine bar or upstairs restaurant three different times during the business hours that THEY post on Google My Business...all three times those areas were closed and the bar keep accosted us for asking. I was shocked at how terrible this business is - don't support them with your money.
