There is nothing nice to say about this place. It is dark & dingy. Not what I expected at all. Very tacky and cheap. Pay a bit more and go to a proper show. You get what you pay for.

I booked Afternoon Tease on a Saturday afternoon for my friends stag do (stag parties are only allowed in the afternoon!) For £49ph you get a glass of processco on arrival, a table (obviously) sandwiches (which are refilled), cakes and either tea or coffee. As well as the libation you get an absolutely fantastic show.Ours had two burlesque dancers (both doing two performances), a comedy singer (she also did two performances, a comedy compare and a brilliant singing pianist. Overall the experience was superb. The sandwiches weren't more than picnic standard, but the cakes were fantastic. The surface went above and beyond (we got an extra drink or two for the groom!)The show itself being added to the price is where the real value is.As well as the above you can buy suplimentary cocktails. As well as an extensive menu (the prices per glass range from £10 to £15, they are really good though!) you can also buy an Iced Tea theme teapot of cocktail (we went for Summer fruits for £20 - LOVELY.)If you want a different sort of afternoon tea in London, I highly recommend this. Obviously for adults only!

We went with a KGB Deal for entry and a cocktail for £12. It was a bit confusing on arrival. We were directed towards the bar to get our drink; it took a long time and the show was due to start and staff kept telling us to wait in different places. We were eventually taken downstairs and were seated right at the front to the side. It was quite a tacky looking place though with disco balls and spotlights and that kind of thing. The show not surprisingly started about 20 minutes late, so we ordered more cocktails while we were waiting. The best one was a spicy one called a Dixie Dragon; it had an interesting taste, but they were all really weak. Most people seemed to be just drinking, but some were eating too; I didn't get a good look at the food, but it didn't really seem like the kind of place to have dinner. A squirrelly sort of guy acted as MC. I found him really annoying; it just lowered the tone in my view and I hated the audience participation aspect. I should say I hadn't been to a burlesque show before, so my idea of what it should be like might be completely wrong, but it really wasn't what I was expecting. The ladies who provided the signing and dancing were good - there was one in particular who was very pretty and had a good physique - but the magic/"comedy" acts in between were really not my kind of thing at all; there was a lady who was okay but the man was absolutely dire. The show was very short; the two halves were at most half an hour each. I've lately been rating experiences higher than they deserve for providing a novelty factor and this would fall into that category. I like trying new things and can often have a good time for that reason alone. I will not be returning, but it did stoke my interest sufficiently that I will be looking for other more authentic venues in London and giving it another go. Interestingly, my receipt indicates they're in administration, so I don't know how much longer they will be around for.

This is great place to go for a night out. However, the main product of the night is entertainment. Don't go to volupte for the food, which isn't bad or the burlesque dancers who are really good. This club is a mixture of burlesque, comedy and audience participation. It's a fairly small venue so coming to the club for voyeuristic reasons is out of the window. In summary the food is good, burlesque dancers good, comedy acts good there are not really any downsides other than if you want to just watch the show rather be a part of it. Enjoy!

I went here for dinner with work friends a couple of years ago and we had the most fantastic time so returned here yesterday with a friend to sample the afternoon 'tea and tassles' for her birthday.I have to say I love everything about Volupte from the welcoming greeting by the handsome chap on the door, the truly amazing cocktails (try the hibiscus martini or the margarita), the food and drink selection and the show which has a bit of something for everyone.I honestly don't understand some of the complaints I've seen on here about the food. When we went for dinner we were all surprised by the quality and quantity of the food we received and impressed with the wine list too (we had a couple of delicious bottles of St Emilion). The afternoon tea came with a glass of champagne and some sandwiches which were perfectly fine but the cakes stole the show...warm scones and homemade plum cake. We had cocktails served in a teapot too which was great fun.Although I really enjoyed the afternoon tea and tassles I would have liked to have stayed for longer so if I'm lucky enough to go again I would want to do the last dinner sitting so that I can dance until 2am again like last time!

We booked this for dinner and show on Wednesday 12th June. Immediately on arrival Rachel greeted us, and was very friendly, welcoming, and chatty, we gave our reservation details, and were immediately at ease and shown in to the bar area, where we ordered a cocktail whilst our table was being made available. Excellent cocktails by the way!The decor of the whole place could probably be described as quirky, in an old fashioned pre-war kitsch way. It doesn't pretend to be ultra luxurious, and top end glamour, but more an inviting and really comfortable at ease environment. We were then shown downstairs to our table and yes, the Lounge is compact, but we felt it was very intimate, and nicely arranged, in a way that made your table feel private but still sharing the space with the other guests. We liked the idea of the starter and dessert being a set menu / shared platter, and the main course menu was a nice selection. Yes the sides are extra on top of the prices for the set menu and show, but its only £4 each, you'd pay more for a taxi to get there!Once we were settled downstairs in the lounge Roy the waiter took over service, and he was really friendly, chatty and fun.We liked the arrangement where the dessert came at the interval of the act.As for the act, well, fun, fun, fun all the way.Gracie and the G Spots were entertaining, and clever, and we think she was able to read the audience and tailor the content to that audience. Her entertainment and singing was fantastic, and very audience involved. Friendly, cheeky, nicely naughty, and above all amazing fun. Then the Burlesque entertainment came by the way of Betsie Bon Bon, again the nice thing is you could take your granny here. Nothing seedy or awful, cheeky, teasing, and just a little bit of naughty fun. It was nice that both these entertainers would direct their attentions to the wives and girlfriends in the audience, very clever and a cute way of making it about men looking at women. We are two guys so they knew they could push the act a little further with us.Gracie had my other half up on the stage for a bit of banter, and she had me up at the end for a little bit of a dance and singing interaction. Bother Gracie and Betsie interacted amazingly with the audience, and both were very intuitive to their audience. The intimacy of the place is that you are sitting on the same floor that becomes the stage, so to a degree the acts happen around your tables, and yes they get up close with their audience, but that really is the style of proper old fashioned burlesque. It should never be an audience of onlookers from a distance. Not sure of the guys name, but in between Gracie and Betsies act a guy came on with a crystal ball and did a sort of magic / juggling act which was fantastic and very professional.By the end of the night we had the most memorable time, great food, delicious cocktails, and we were covered in glitter, and had sore cheek bones from all the smiling and laughing. After the show, it was really nice for the acts to come over and speak to us on a one to one basis, both Gracie and Betsie are really friendly. We then retired to the bar for some more cocktails, and spend the rest of the evening their until after 1am, chatting to the other guests, staff and bar staff. We loved it so much we are thinking of booking it for a family get together provided Gracie and Betsie can provide the entertainment.Thankyou so much to everyone involved at Volupte for creating an intimate, fun, relaxing, and memorable evening.See you all soon!

A hilarious evening for all the wrong reasons .... the evening started well, myself and hubby were able to park right outside. Inside we were shown through to the 'bonbon bar'- decorated with shelves full of old fashioned jars of sweeties, cherub wallpaper and (tired) velvet drapes. The cocktail menu starts at £9.00 a drink. Downstairs the 'volupte lounge' restaurant decor is shabby, maybe purposely so?! The starters came nicely presented on a 'slate board for two', the only course you choose is the mains, the desserts were also a shared collection. The first glasses of wine we were given tasted like vinegar and, indeed, were off. The first act was a compere/ comedian who was strikingly like Baddiel both in looks and style, he was very funny. The next was a good pianist- its a shame the piano was a little out of tune! The female singer had a reasonable voice, but our attention was more taken by guessing how long her strapless gown would stay up, as it was obviously on loan, and her 'chicken fillet' breast enhancers were gradually making their way out of her cleavage as she sang! The first burlesque dancer was tall and statuesque, very elegant. Then came the male juggler (sporting a handlebar moustache and a naked upper body covered in tattoos and piercings), he tried to juggle 3 cigar boxes whilst reciting a poem and, as it progressed, he got sweatier, and more and more nervous, as he dropped the boxes more often. He then proceeded to thread plastic sticks through his piercings on which he spun three plastic 'plates' whilst trying to juggle 3 curved metal knives ( with which he had as much luck as the cigar boxes). The second dancer had lots of character- as she wiggled around, about 2 inches from our tabletop, (we were quite glad we had finished our steak!) In the second half the same acts came out but did different routines.... only the 'juggler' returned totally naked apart from a coat hook, hanging strategically from a strap round his waist, on which was hung several bowler hats- which, you guessed it, he tried miserably to juggle with. The head waitress was smiling and charming throughout. After the meal there was supposed to be a 1920s themed dance but, as the show had finished, and the staff in the bar were disinterested and barely sociable, we decided to leave before it began; especially after we nearly had our coffee table swiped away from us( by another grumpy member of staff) just as our after dinner coffee was due to arrive! Interesting experience and you had to laugh, but I wouldn't go back, I suspect Del Boy & Rodney could do better!!!!! (Ps. Could just be coincidence but both hubby and I had stomach cramps for 48 hours afterwards!)

We bought a groupon voucher for this place at £35 for a three course meal and a show....sounded a greta deal, but when you get the final bill.......its isn't. The service was good, the meal was ok and the dancers and entertainment was good but how they price everything is a bit of a scam and a rip off. The meal was small and not much to it, but nice, but not worth what they think its worth! the decor is awful and dirty and the room very small and as if it has been put together at the last minute. The worst thing however is how they they price it all up at the end. The charge you 15% service charge, on everything, includign what you have already paid for on Groupon. But this isnt the £35 we paid, NO, it was what they now think the price of the 3 course meal is worth - £67!!!! £67 for a square of pate and 2 small pieces of toast (starter), 2 small pieces of beef and watercress (main), sides are extra, and some little taster desserts. We ate at a michelin star restaurant for £50 each for 4 courses!! so you are left with a massive service charge bill which makes the whole night, but quite a bargain. However - the dancers were good and entertaining the waiters/ess were very nice.

I have no fault with the acts on that night, Dave the Bear organised a cracking good show with some acrobatics, witty comedy and entertaining, raunchy burlesque! However, the actual venue decor leaves a lot to be desired. Downstairs is quite small for both audience and performers, and badly hung drapes dotted the walls around the perimeter of the restaurant. It felt like it was meant to be classy and decadent, but done very half-heartedly.It was a shame the show was quite short, and immediately after, all the guests ran upstairs to hang out by the bar, leaving the DJ spinning cheesy dance tunes to an empty dance floor. However, the cocktails were lovely and are prices on par with other cocktail bars around London (£9 - £12 per drink). Just watch the bill though as it does get quite pricey.Won't be rushing back here though.

I recently visited volupte with a group of friends for a birthday. Whilst it was an enjoyable change to the usual night out, the show was quite short and after it finished, the acts all left through the restaurant with suitcases and the guests were left to entertain themselves dancing to the cheesey 90s music! The best bit of the night was the compere, tempest rose, and her witty banter with the audience and loose stand up. Overall, good experience but not sure i would rush back. Testing out Proud cabaret next for a comparison :)

We went to Volupte with another couple and really weren't sure what to expect. What we found was a really fun and different eveningThe venue was well run, good fun and a very pleasant atmosphere. The performers were all good and the whole event was very tasteful and not embarrassing even for the more prudent out there Food was good but then again you should be going for the whole event rather than for the food aloneThe bill? Well that came in at a cool £450 for four of us also drinking 4 bottles of wine. A bit pricey especially as our sitting was from 6.30pm until 9.15pm when we had to leave to make room for the next sitting. We were made aware of this before we went. I would suggest the second sitting if possible but be warned that if you need to get home afterwards you could miss your last train!Enjoy but watch the bill!

We came here for a colleague's leaving do. It was great fun. The cocktails in the bar upstairs take an eternity to make it seems, but when they come they're excellent. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is intimate and quite special.Downstairs is where the Burlesque show takes place. It was hugely entertaining - such a good laugh. The performers seemed talented, and some of what they did was pretty original. There wasn't any gratuitous nudity, just a bit of grown up fun. Well worth a visit if you fancy doing something a little different in central London from the usual pub and bar scene, but still want a drink and a laugh.

Boom! I went there last night with a group of girlfriends. Prior to going I checked out the reviews which weren't very complimentary. The cocktails are very good, a lot of people in other reviews complained about the food being small and rubbish. I was pleasantly surprised the food was pretty good, large portions and for the price perfectly acceptable. Having never been to a Burlesque night I have no comparison but I thought the girls were fairly good, I loved the costumes and they were all very glamourous. Another girl was a great singer act and pianist Jaz was good. The only downside was a bad magician, no actually his magic was ok his jokes were terrible. I never expected magic and a poor attempt at comedy. We got an Amazon deal so probably why I am happy with the night. Full price would be a bit less enticing.

Spent a wonderful evening at Volupte on Saturday – we had a fab time – loved it all – couldn’t have been better.Well that last bit isn’t strictly true because there is always room for improvement. But for the record my wife and I loved the layout, intimacy, décor and ambience of the cabaret downstairs. Food was marvellous – tasty, fresh, meaty, generous and served very carefully and promptly. Wine was perfect and reasonably priced too.We enjoyed the performances and the music and dancing afterwards. On arrival we were a bit disappointed to find jean and t-shirt clad lads blocking the bar and not enough bar staff to deal with demand. The bar-staff looked unhappy and smiles were not on the cocktail list that night. We made a big effort to dress up and whilst we didn’t feel out of place I do think a dress-code for the venue might be an improvement. The waiting staff in the restaurant/cabaret/bar could have been dressed sharper/more sexy. And I really don’t think it’s necessary for the compere (fab figure by the way!) to use the F word – it’s just not funny/required.But on balance 8 out of 10 and we’re coming back again. Thanks for a wonderful evening – and to the doorman for arranging transport and smiling a lot!

We booked the afternoon tea (£42 per head) in advance as we were visiting London for the weekend. As 4 couples this was a perfect saucy afternoon of giggles, cocktails and a lot of laughs. On arrival we had cocktails in the bar, delicious and reasonable priced compared to some London venues. We were shown to our table by a super friendly waitress who explained the tea cocktails which arrive in a teapot and you drink in your cup and saucer- really yummy. The tea was really good, a variety of sandwiches and pastries with a range of scrum my cakes. We loved it and couldn't eat it all.The show was fab, a couple of burlesque turns interspersed with some really funny acts and piano singalong and a great cheesy compare. Our favourite was Tina Turner Tea Lady, possibly because she got one of our party on stage with her, adding to our entertainment!Next time we will go to the evening show and try supper, bearing in mind the price overs the show and your food, we thought it was great value for money and thoroughly recommend it to anyone not embarrassed by a little nakedness!

I booked Volupte for afternoon tea as a group of hens. We had a few cocktails to start in the bar upstairs. The barman was friendly and really knew his cocktails. The drinks were great, as was the vibe and music. They weren't the cheapest cocktails i've had, but they were lovely. We were shown down to our table by a super friendly waitress and the tea was reasonable at £42.00 a head. The sandwiches were ok, but the cakes were amazing! The show was great and all the acts were superb. I understand they don't allow hens/stags in the evening, which is a shame as it would have been perfect for us. I can't really imagine why as the groups that would go there wouldn't exactly be your usual rough crowd, Thoroughly recommended. My only criticism is that the show should have been longer!

The sharing starters and deserts were lovely and the main course of steak and risotto were cooked well. It was Baby Grand burlesque night and the girls perfoming were beautiful and classy, the pianist was very talented with a great voice, and the MC was hilarious....so bad he was good if you see what I mean. It is pricey but it was a birthday treat and not an everyday thing. My only slight grumble was that there was a long wait between starters and mains, apart from that I cant fault the place! We went to Volupte for my brother's 30th birthday. We had a party of 10 that attended the Saturday afternoon burlesque show and tea. Firstly, the staff (and Kate the co-ordinator and Paulette our waitress especially) were brilliant. I was communicating with Kate before the day, and she was organised and super-helpful. Upon arrival we chilled in the bar for a bit and had delicious cocktails. The show-venue is downstairs, and makes a delightful tea room. The food was delectable, and even though it was "tea" we were all stuffed. An array of sandwiches to start (4 sandwiches each) followed by a selection of pavlova, rich chocolate squares and a beautiful panacotta. And then more scones than you can shake a stick at. Our waitress was the very model of efficiency, and wonderfully friendly as well. The show was brilliant. A varied line up of magic, humour and the gorgeous burlesque dancers. a special mention has to be made of the MC. She was beautiful, has a stunning voice, and kept us entertained throughout.A definite recommendation: try the teapot cocktails. They're a little pricey, but you can get about 4-6 cups out of one pot, and they are so refreshing. It may seem pricey at about £42 pp... but that is for the awesome show and a reall good tea. Absolutely loved every moment of it!

We were called to our table when it was ready, being given the best one in the house. The menu was well explained and some of the food was quite good (lacking in seasoning) and some, very good. The entertainment, which is why we went, was great fun, Delores Volupte and her team were sexy without being OTT and at the end of the evening, we felt we'd been to a lovely old fashioned small but intimate basement club, had some fun and eaten rather well. Loo check was ok.Do try it, it's worth a visit!

This is the second year in a row that we've had dinner and a show at Volupte. Lots of fantastic martinis and drinks to sample before being taken down to the show.. mmmmm The show is always fun, the food is decent, and the atmosphere is full of revelry. Downsides, it's quite expensive, from the food to the drinks, it can all add up rather quickly. If you go to the early show, you kind of get pushed out pretty quickly. If you want to take your time, make reservations for the later show. The space is a little cramped, but makes it a little more personable I think. Overall, I have had a great time each time I've been there and hope to make it back again next time I'm visiting London. Definitely need reservations several days in advance!

Om a plus point we thought our meals actually good value for money and our steak was beautiful and overall we had paid more the previous two nights for meals without entertainment. Moving on to which the acts were enthusiastic but very hampered in having virtually no space to act /dance in and some of costumes were a little thread bear and acts in dragging in audience felt a little naff. E.g. Men pretending to be digs and dancing with performance felt a bit cringe in places. Very small place and probably dozens,t seat more than abut 50 but in fairness we drank house wine , food was great and on balance had a good time and would visit again

In addition many previous reviews are excellent and I very much feel they are misleading. We went to the Friday late show (9.15 arrival 20/4/12) and there were about 10 other people there for the show. It felt empty and uncomfortable. There is no stage (not even a little one!) so the acts are just working on the floor where a small space had been cleared. The kitten club were OK but nothing more. There is very little burlesque involved & I think if you've seen any decent burlesque you will be disappointed. Finally, it is VERY expensive to drink there & when there are only 10 people sat awkwardly close to performers who are clomping about on the wooden floor, trying to undo their costumes you really need a drink to speed the night along! What a terrible shame.:(

Visited with my friends who wanted to do something different for her birthday and, all in all, it was a fun experience. After all, it's not every day you see naked women in nipple tassels while you have your dinner. Now, for the down side: there is a kind of conveyor belt feel to the whole place. They kind of rush out your food and then rush you out because there is another sitting later on. Maybe the later sitting is a better option. We got a three-course meal for about £58, plus the show - so it wasn't terrible value, except the food was pretty poor. I was not satisfied with my meal. As soon as we sat down, they put a bread basket on the table. There was about seven of us, and we quickly scoffed the lot. Then, when the chicken terrine arrived, it was served without bread, so we had to ask for some. They were kind of miffed, and instead of refilling our bread basket, the waiter put one roll on each of our plates which seemed a bit stingy. How can you eat terrine without sufficient bread? For my main course, I had pre-ordered tuna which was hideously over-cooked and really chewy and dry, though the veg was nice. I chose orange panna cotta for dessert, it was edible but the texture was a bit too jelly-like and not creamy enough. What really cranked up the price was the cocktails at £10 each. They were very good, though. In terms of burlesque, the girls were solid performers, but there was something kind of inauthentic and hen nighty about the whole thing. There was a nice part at the end when the DJ put on some tunes and everyone got up to have a boogy. I've done it now, so wouldn't go back, but it's not a bad place to visit if you fancy something different. Don't expect too much from the food or you will be disappointed.

We (4 of us) went with high hopes based on previous reviews and the web site. The cocktails we had upstairs were excellent and the ambience was vibrant and fun. We were then taken downstairs to the restaurant and first impressions were, sadly, disappointing. I was expecting to be in a sumptuous decadent room, but apart for a few touches, the space reminded me of a slightly weary night club. We were seated in a good position for seeing the floor show but everytime someone came downstairs there was blast of cold air from outside. Eventually we moved to an empty table with no draught, but less able to see the show.Service was excellent, appropriate and done with a smile. The food was adequate (just!). Eg, a tiny bit of partridge with some leaves (no dressing) was not impressive. We were having xmas dinner and the turkey we all had was servicable. I would have been embarrassed to have served it up at home, but Volupte is not known for it's food and so it was fuel. The floor show was very good, but cut short, apparently due to the small number of diners. The performers decided not to bother doing the whole routine. The performers themselves were jolly, talented and sexy. Overall, fun, but not worth the cost. We were hoping for a sumptuous night (our ladies had spent money on outfits to join in, as suggested) but ended up feeling that the purpose was to extract our money whilst giving as little as possible back. When I write reviews, I do so with different emotions in mind, I have been moved to review because of excellence, because of anger and sometimes just to provide info. On this occasion I am saddened to write like this, as Volupte could be so good.

Starting with the positives, I've visited Volupte on a number of occasions and I've always enjoyed the entertainment, it's an intimate and nicely set out venue and the service here is really very good. It's a great place for an intimate supper with entertainment and this is what has made me a repeat customer.Where it lets itself down though is the food. They promise 'out of this world' cuisine but really fail to deliver. It's really not much better than you can get at a decent bar or pub these days but prices here are vastly more expensive. There are limited options and I feel particularly sorry for vegetarians - there was one in our party for whom the only option was a bulgur wheat risotto which apparently didn't taste much better than it looked. It looked vile. The dessert was an oversweet but otherwise flavourless torte which could have come straight from the frozen section of any supermarket. This wouldn't matter if the management didn't insist that each customer buy at least 2 courses from the menu. They didn't used to insist for some shows and as a result, it used to be packed with the kind of great atmosphere that a happy crowd provides. However, it has been half empty or worse the last couple of times I've visited and this even affects the performers. I hope they can either improve their menu, review its pricing or drop the requirement to eat altogether so that more people can enjoy what they do best here...charm and entertain

Had a girls night out here, we went to the Fri night 9.30 show. Didn't know what to expect but we had such a fun night! We were shown to the upstairs bar upon arrival as we were 15 mins early, there was a real buzz and great music. We were shown to our table within 20 mins and our wine order taken. The staff were all friendly, fun but also professional. The meal(you pre-order) was ok- good. Certainly not Michelin standards and maybe the food is a little pricey for the quality, however considering the amazing night we had, we would happily pay it again! We saw the Ivy Paige show and enjoyed our first burlesque experience! The music following the show was get up and dance stuff, which everyone did. Great to go somewhere un pretentious where everyone is it out to have good clean fun!

Volupte is a burlesque club and restaurant. My wife and I went along to see what all the burlesque fuss is about. Overall, the experience was good, but not amazing, as one would expect at this price. The club is small and quite nicely decorated. The food was good (very good sirloin steak) and decently priced. Excellent cocktails. The entertainment was good - decent band, dodgy/funny magician, and dancers getting down to their nipple tassles. Most of the audience were either women or gay, it seemed. Nothing seedy about it at all, just mildly naughty fun. We dressed up smart (black tie) and would recommend others do the same, it adds to the atmosphere. Not like the obese chap in the jeans and trainers next to us. So, go for a laugh, but don't expect too much.

This was one of the worst restaurants that I've ever been to, terrible selection on the menu, bland food. Table arrangement was badly laid out, service was slow and again I can't describe how awful the food was. Just was not worth the money. Steak had to be returned and when it was asked for with no sauce, absolutely nothing except the steak came out. When returned to cook it more, it arrived out practically the same. Even the 'safe' pasta dish was disappointing. The show was very short, and was not what we were expecting. 6 or 7 songs in total, a lot of female nudity, not even a hint of a guy (we were at a hen show). Disappointing evening, especially for what you pay for.Waiters knocking into the chairs passing. Left the place feeling cheated

We read tripadvisors report after we had booked, and so went with some trepidation. But it was great fun, and good value. True the 1830 "show" really starts at 19.00 and so there is a danger of increasing your bill with coktail prices. But a bottle of temparillo at £16.50 is not unduly expensive with dinner. Good for 2 people. Better for 4.. Be prepared for fun, and to enjoy yourself.

We arrived for the 6.30 show about 15 minutes early, were shown to our front of house table, service was a little chaotic with only one barman on duty. Had to wait a while for our cocktails but good when they arrived. Food was fairly standard fare, but served hot and everyone was attended to before the show started. Waiters were courteous at all times. The show was a mix of burlesque, comedy and music all very engaging and fun. After the show we had drinks in the upstairs lounge with a great cocktail barman.

We were there when they a burlesque show and the show was good and funny. The food however was not that great. We got the steak and asked for it to be red and when we got it they were both welldone. The red wine was very warm. However, the staff was friendly and helpful. But it was simply put too expensive. We had two courses and 2 bottles of cheap wine and the show and paid almost and that is too much.

We went to the burlesque and blues night. It was much more cabaret than burlesque and we would have liked to have seen more burlesque. However the show was such good fun that we didn't mind too much. We enjoyed the food and you got a good portion. The staff especially the host and the waiting staff were lovely and very attentive. The customer service really made the night. I would go again.

We went to see a show at the Volupte Lounge. Bar staff are great and the cocktails are wonderful. The food was OK. Average, not great but not bad. I had parma ham and melon - quite tasty, and then grilled vegetables with jewelled couscous - vegetables could have been cooked a little more and couscous was a little dry.

We went to the Ivy paige Burlesque show on 24/07/2010 for our anniversary. Having pre booked our meals our meals were ready and served almost immediately. Our starter was the Fishcakes which were absolutely amazing, unfortunately we had the steak at £20 per person which was absolutely disgusting and i feel completely ripped off, dessert i had the strawberry pavlova which was very lovely. Another negative i am afraid was the tiny tiny little tea light candles on the tables which when the show is on the room is fairly dark so we ended up eating in the dark i would of loved to be able to see my food.As for the show Miss Ivy Paige was really good, but found her Paige girls esp Heather Paige to be very amaturish, far to many wardrobe malfunctions and just generally a bit out of sync. Further more i found the show being ruined a bit by all of the hen parties in the venue, also the amount of noise coming from the hen tables while the show was on was very distracting and thought Management should of told them to shut up esp seeing as you are paying for the tickets at a cost of £25 each. After show we went upstairs to the bar whereby we were served by the bar man Chris, who we found charming and absolutely good company, he also makes a marvellous cocktail :)So all in all i feel a bit let down and a bit short changed, this is more for a hen do than for couples or just mature adult friends looking for a sumptous evening.

Tucked away down a side street near Chancery Lane tube station, this bar/restaurant has so much to offer, it'd name should be shouted from the rooftops!I found a listing for this completely by accident, and booked a table for two on Wednesday, June 30th. The staff member I spoke to was bubbly, friendly and extremely helpful. She made sure that I knew how to get there, knowing I wasn't a Londoner. On arrival I was impressed at the choices on offer to a non-drinker like myself. I'm usually relegated to the lemonade or orange juice, so their range or virgin cocktails were an extremely welcome element of the menu. Descending to the restaurant we were greeted by a very handsome young waiter who showed us to our table and chatted to us about the new menu and the drinks of offer. The staff were never too rushed to stop and have a chat and some banter. The show itself, Gracie and her G Spots, was fantastic fun from start to finish. She has a stunning voice and cheeky demeanor, making the evening a laugh riot. The songs were clever as well as entertaining, and her interaction with the crowd was well pitched and made us all feel part of a cozy 1940s supper club, like revellers crammed into a basement in the Blitz. The food looked divine and tasted delicious. I had duck which was tender and cooked to perfection, obviously there chef has an eye for presentation as our dishes looked almost too good to eat! The menu is very reasonably priced, especially for the quality on offer. In conclusion, I heartily recommend this venue. I'll be visiting again!

Just dreadful. The long wait and the food which was beneath average. Awful service as well. The waiters couldn't care less...
