Nice pub with decent ale. The food is pretty good. As it's a "foody" pub, it's dead quiet by 9.00pm. Garden can be busy and noisy due to lots of children running about.

What a great pub for food and hospitality. Twelve of us (6 adults and 6 children) visited The Westleigh Inn for dinner. Outside, there is an enclosed seating area which suited us perfectly, as there is also an adventure playground and a grassed area with two football goals. The children were able to play happily and safely. The men enjoyed the footie too! The food was ordered inside and we were told to make ourselves at home and that there were heaters, lights and even blankets in the cabin. The food came quickly and altogether, something you don’t always get with a large party. The meals were delicious and the portions large. The food could not be faulted. All the members of staff were very friendly, polite and accommodating. There was a great choice of menu for both adults and children. This is an absolute gem of a pub set in a pretty village. I would thoroughly recommend it. The whole family had a great time.

We are still talking about the fabulous pie! It is huge and the best pastry! Cut into it and out pours a delicious gravy. The steak was in big chunks so no need for the pie to be filled up - this is quality beef!! I couldn't eat all of tyecpastry much was a huge disappointment because I was stuffed! The chips were absolutely delicious but no room to finish those either. Oh, and my husband's fish and chips was superb too - but oh my, the pie!

This is tucked away in the midst of tiny cottages down streets barely a Range River wide. There is a large car park out back with views over the Estuary and (I think) an outdoors seating area. The pub is relatively spacious but I suspect it gets pretty full. The food was good, I had the burger and it very good with Lots of real chips. Nice local beer and all at a reasonable pruce

After seeing many positive reviews, we thought we would visit for Sunday Lunch, and booked a table for six people, getting our joint opinions for our Hotel customers. When we first arrived we was greeted by several friendly staff, unfortunately this changed quickly by a tall gentleman behind the bar, in this order: 1. We confirmed our booking 2. He asked if we would like a drink, we said yes and asked where are we sitting, he said "on the floor" (I took it as it was intended, a joke). A lady pointed at a table. 3. I ordered some drinks, and this is where he got very unfriendly, enough so that we left without eating. He repeatedly disagreed with our ordered, and what I heard on the radio (a private discussion with a member of our group)... We order 6 drinks, he managed to get them wrong three times, each time I repeated the order. We just wanted to order some drinks and sit down and eat with our group. We sat down and discussed what just happened, all six of us were in shock, we all agreed I placed the correct order, but irrelevant, even if I did make a mistake with the order, or misunderstood what I heard on the radio, he should have not have spoken to me in such a rued manor. The pub looks very nice, but this man made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, we decided not stay for lunch. The rest of the staff were nice, polite and friendly. When we paid to leave, he had to have a few more digs and try and turn it around on me. So long as this man is working at the Westleigh Inn, we will not be returning, also advising our Hotel guests to avoid.

Great place, friendly service and amazing food. History - WESTLEIGH WESTLEIGH The Westleigh Inn including barn attached at right (east) end GV II Public house, probably originally a tenement farmhouse, with barn attached. Barn - Rendered stone rubble and some cob. Slate roof. Tall rendered former hall stack with offsets and tapered cap. Rendered stack at left end. Originally 3 room through-passage plan with front lateral hall stack, the through- passage and hall/inner room partitions removed to form 2 larger rooms.

Fabulous gastro grub. We came from Pillhead Farm via the minor roads - NOT for the feint hearted! (Returned via the A39). We had booked in advance, and good job we did, it was well busy. Service was quite slow, but I couldn't complain as the majority of the work was being done by the middle-aged blonde lady, who was running around like a headless chicken. The food, though not particularly cheap, was absolutely fabulous. My wife had a steak cooked to perfection. And my steak and ale pie was quite possibly the best I've ever had. Massive chunks of beef in a rich and plentiful gravy, not at all dry like as in many places I've eaten. And the shortcrust pastry was divine, crumbly (even the lower half), and sweet tasting - almost like shortbread biscuits. There were no complaints from the others in our party, not even the kids. There is a good-sized car park, and a moderately equipped playground in the garden helped keep the kids busy.
