Has new owners now. Very recent change over. Frankly, the most expensive and overpriced chips I have ever eaten not to mention how bad they were. £5.20 for a medium fish and chips. Which is actually the price of the fish on its own plus the chips combined – which I have never seen before. The price of fish and chips is meant be less than the two items would be separately. Finally, the chips are the sort of chips a 50 plus alcoholic would make upon returning from a rather messy night in their grotty local. Seriously, they were terrible. I could do better myself at home. I will not be going there every again and I advise anyone else to avoid that place. I have never once been unhappy and unsatisfied from fish and chips.

Friendly takeaway and cafe good quality food quick friendly service open till 9 p.m. at night Monday to Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday the food you can order is varied from seafood two burgers two kebabs and is halal friendly

A huge thank you to Jerry and the team for an outstanding funeral / wake service. From the initial phone call to enquire, to the preparation and the actual service, I felt completely reassured and welcomed during a difficult time for my family. Catered for vegans, old people, young people and must say, the selection on offer was fantastic. Veggie lasagne went down a treat! Also, the bar staff were really friendly and the pub was clean, welcoming and we had control of the music too. When you've got lots on your mind, having someone like Jerry and the team at The White Swan make things so much easier. Would highly recommend for funeral activities or just coming in for a pint, bite to eat and a chat.

St George's SquareMy meal was probably the best curry I have had in 20 years. The Pathia was divine and the Naan to die for. They accommodated a party of 14 with charm and efficiency. Highly recommended.

Manchester RoadThe food has changed from traditional food your gammon and chips,fish and chips etc to trying to compare with bao buns at the Riverhead,sorry no contest. The pub smells of wet dogs particularly around the fire and the sofas and been bitten there. Not in a rush to go back .
