West End Fish Bar in Rutland

Been a free times since moving nearby. Food is ok, but oh my are they slow! Gave up in the end and drive to a nearby one and was served instantly even though they had a few customers too. It’s like they take one order and wait until it’s totally ready before taking next order… even though there is 5 plus people working there!

The wrap tasted very off, it tasted like it wasn’t fresh and had gone out of date. The chicken was good tho

We were visiting Oakham and discovered this shop. We were pleased we could eat in as it has been a long day. The place is popular which is always a good sign. Our food was good quality and decent portions. The cost was very competitive and would definitely go back again. The only negative I have was the background tune being played , it was too repetitive and music would have been better. Otherwise a good fish and chips shop...

gone really down hill. used to be our favourite place for kebabs. not anymore. chips are just mush, kebab meat is awful. won't be using again

Ordered 2 portions of cheesy chips and gravy however they came with no gravy

Clearly no one reads customers notes! What's the point... Burger and nuggets 100% have been sitting on the side and was served to us to get rid of. So dry with black dripping oil! requested for salad to be separate as it comes hot and doggy when mixed with hot meat. This wasn't done. Was asked to go outside by the driver to collect my food, which is not door to door £4 delivery service! Quality of food has majorly gone down the hill since we've been ordering.

Not good fish. Smells off. Chips average. Had to wait 10 minutes before anyone even said hello. Then another 2 to place an order. One word ROUGH

Dry grey haddock, which tasted unpleasant. I'm guessing it had been sitting around for ages. Not worth the wait. Very disappointing.

Fantastic food, best fish and chips I have had for ages, definitely recommend, was cooked while I waited but was soooo worth it

Nice food, we ate in, we were in a rush and passing through. I think they need to be better focused on those that want to eat in. Plates, knives and folks, sauces etc.

Great Place When I used to order last year and it was at least once a week.i ordered at 6.30pm on Sunday and had numerous texted saying they were running late.I totally understand that but 2 hrs later the food was still not here and the driver called me to ask if I was at the army camp in Cottesmore.i said that you said that to me 3 weeks ago.anyway when he eventually turned up he handed me the bag and span round very quickly without even an apology.then there was no coke.i won’t be ordering aia

battered sausage was best I've ever had but shame chips were cold had to put them in the microwave.

Missing the order for my little one. The owner said well I put it in the bag and I'll call the delivery driver. He didn't as far as I can tell. I asked him to just tell me what's going on as my kid was eating part of my meal at that point. I said ok I guess we leave it then and he put the phone down on me.

Was lovely just the cost of delivery and a surcharge. Just work it in the price £4 is a lot when only half mile away

Ordered at 1713. Delivered at 1913. Not surprisingly, it was cold.

Food was delivered late and luke warm. Mushy peas were like gravy. Fish was iffy. Chips however were fantastic. First time we’ve ever had issues with West End. Will give them another chance.

We have noticed a big improvement in food quality recently. Delivery times can be hit and miss sometimes it’s early other times it’s late. Overall we would order again

The plaice was very small for the £9 charge but everything else was very good.

This is the third time we have used this app everything has allways arrived hot, lovely food, great curry sauce, plenty to choose from the menu

We usually have delivery and the food has been very good. On this occasion I went into the bar. I was initially ignored for over 5 minutes. When I placed my order, and it was ready I asked for mushy peas and was then told I had ordered curry sauce that I hadn't. The young lady then proceeded to print out a receipt that just proved she had taken the order wrong. It was not a great experience and I was quite upset. The food was good but I think in future if I order again it will be online only.

Food was great but ordered online for collection and it wasn’t ready when we arrived, in fact they served everyone else who was in the shop quicker - so no point of ordering beforehand and paying service fee!

Not the best quality chips, some black chips and the odd green chip... Obviously not the best quality potatoes... Sorry but I won't be back....

The food was perfect. It arrived quickly and was very very tasty. The battered mars bar was incredible!

We've ordered from here several times before and the food has always been OK but last night we were disappointed. The food didn't seem to be cooked long enough and was soggy. We ordered the mixed kebab which only contained donar meat, but they did ring to tell us this while the order was on route.

Like most fish and chips round here, fairly hit and miss and you roll the dice with these guys. On their day the food is amazing, but 70% of the time is all dry and stale

Very disappointed tonight. I ordered a mini fish in my order and its definitely not fresh, it's stinks revolting. Such a shame. I did try to call without leaving a review but you kept putting me to answer phone

Getting more and more expensive unfortunately nearly 30 pounds and the place is less than five minutes charged for carrier bags service charge then delivery the food is always hot chips are good won’t be getting as many as we have because it’s a lot for a meal for only 2

I have ordered from here before and they didn’t add salt & vinegar to the chips (I had requested both). I assumed it was a one off but this has happened again now. The fish didn’t taste very nice to me either. Sadly disappointed!

Admittedly only went for a piece of haddock for my tea as my husband had out all day and I asked him just to go and get me a piece of haddock or cod. It seriously was cold, batter was soggy and I threw it all away. I rang them to tell them of my disappointment and they seriously could not be bothered! Would not recommend at all!

Holidaying in Rutland, we fancied fish and chips and weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the food excellent; gluten free available on Friday and Saturday. Very light batter was really good.

Getting a bit expensive so think we won’t be ordering so much we do love when we have been working all day and I don’t want to cook food always hot and fresh

I phoned to ask where my very late order was and a rude man said he didn't know and not to call him again. I won't, nor will I order from here again. It finally arrived cold, congealed and inedible.
