What an amazing Fish and Chip shop! Fantastic meal. Lovely gentleman owner. Sever with a friendly smile too :-). Impressed

Popped in here around 7:30pm on a Friday night expecting to wait for ages and how wrong we were! I wish I was being dramatic when I say it took about 2 minutes for them to put our food together. In total we waited less than 5 minutes to be served and have our food and on our way back out the door (Amazing!). The food was delicious, chips are quite chunky! Great portion sizes, we had 2 large chips 1 battered sausage, 1 plain sausage (both jumbo), curry sauce and a pickled egg and it was around £11, we were so amazed and will be back again. Lovely staff, friendly and efficient :).

We have been here with family and the food was very good. Very clean place and the customer service was great, we will come back.

This is the best fish and chip shop we have ever visited! The food is cooked to order, and is piping hot and perfect. The shop is clean and the staff are friendly and polite. The tea is strong and hot too. We live 40 miles away in Brecon and always have lunch at the Westend fish and chips when we go shopping. We are always recommending it to friends too. Insists on cash, then gives me shrapnel for change - if you don’t take cards, then you should ensure you have plenty of change - the food is good though.

Stopping off on our way through and going on other recommendations this place is worth a visit. The chips we’re chunky and well cooked and had a really nice taste to them, not too greasy. The sausage was a bit overdone otherwise it would have been 5 stars. It is cash only so be prepared!

Awful - not more to be said really - batter round fish - leathery on top and mushy next to fish - YUK! The chips were undercooked and soggy. What a shame - reviews promised so much!

Best on the West, so so good, lovely fresh cooked chips and if you ring or order online all is made fresh to go, Proper chips, crispy battered fish, lush curry sauce what more do you need. we have been at least 2-3 times a month for the last 3 years. need I say more

5 x Fish and Chips bought this evening, probably the best I've ever tasted. Large portions, I couldn't eat it all. This place is highly recommended. Good nenu choices are available for both takeaway and sit down. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

We put in a large order for 16 portions of cod bites and chips at our sheltered housing. The staff were super friendly and gave us free mushy peas . Every one of us really enjoyed our meal . We.ll definitely be back soon .

My mother comes here every Saturday for food for the whole family (takeaway), always brilliant service despite being busy. Young woman and main man in particular are always happy to talk to her and the food doesn't disappoint. Many thanks and keep it up guys.

I had Fish bites and chips and they were both lovely, the chips were chunky and well cooked, the fish was white, fluffy and fresh! The batter was crispy and clean, not that ukky oily batter. I really enjoyed it . Thanks. Will call again.

We having been using this chippy for a long time but unfortunately the last three times we have had food has been a Hugh disappointment, the chips I’m sure are frozen ones and the sausages were awful, they tasted as if they had been sat all day in heat!! The chips here used to be the best in town but I can no longer say that they were all oversized and as dry as anything. Please go back to your home made chips!! I also had a pot of curry sauce which was absolutely awful, it was watery powdered stuff which was inedible!!

Having lived in the town for many years I needed to have a meal so thought I would try here. Wow! How stupid of me never to have visited before. Superb chips, thick and well cooked. Sausages were of a different class to those normally found in chippies. Well done.

Travelled from Southend to stay at the Dylan Coastal Resort and just wanted something simple on our first night. Found this via Google and WOW what a find… Won’t say it’s the best fish and chips I’ve ever had but I can’t actually remember having a better one. Decided to ‘eat in’ and the staff were great, looked after us so we’ll… Ok - I will say it - probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had… 😃

Ordered large fish and chips and also a medium fish to take away, on opening the large fish which was separate from the chips I was greeted with a fish smaller than the medium fish and chips, unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happened but give benefit of the doubt we tried again and we asked for plenty of salt and vinager but none was put on either of our meals.... This place is really starting to slide as it was once a really good place to eat however I really won't be wasting nearly £16 again.

Best fish and chips in Carmarthen. Potatoes are of the highest quality, fish is good size and always well served. Eat in and have unbattered cod which is superb with chips and fresh salad. Coffee is excellent quality as well. Good choices on the menu aside from traditional fish and chips. Very tasty food, very good value and very good service.

we had travelled a long way from Paris and it was late on the motorway and a bit scratchy with each other we decided, somehow, to comfort ourselves that we wanted a proper fish and chips and mushy peas .. it was 9.30pm on a random night and had been turned away en route by two , the offering was what was leftover in the glass warmer.. we read reviews of this place and as always seem to read the negative first, having quickly clocked the 41/2 star rating, which is very good ..the review made no sense .. but the other many hundreds did and loved it .. we like to think we know our fish and chips and this is excellent .. the owner welcomed us, close to closing and cooked us a fresh and beautiful supper .. He deserves the accolades he has received so far and I think you'll not go wrong going here for cert'. lovely food, lovely man

Got the recommendation to visit this place from Trip Advisor, and we were not disappointed. We had Haddock and Chips twice plus a child’s cod bites and chips for my nearly three year old. The fish was cooked to perfection and was really tasty. The chips were crispy and cooked well. The service was swift and polite. Overall, I can highly recommend this place.

Been coming to West End Cafe for many years now and never been disappointed. The food is very tasty and very reasonably priced. The Cafe is very clean and good location, with some parking outside. My go to chip shop in town ! Open on Sundays , serve breakfast until 3pm , the bacon was great , they said it was local along with the eggs which is always nice to hear :) will definitely be back to try something different off the menu !

Came here as we wanted a cheap and fast dinner. Food was good, chips weren't greasy and the fish batter crispy and not soggy. Had veggie option - veggie sausages which where also good and all for a good price! Great place for a fast cheap treat.

We didn't fancy cooking after some Christmas shopping so, decided pick up food on the way home. Pleasant staff and nice food at a reasonable price. I can highly recommend their chicken curry!

We have been to this chip shop twice now and I cant fault it at all. The place is spotless so clean and the staff are super. The food is wonderful, especially the chicken and the curry. Its not often we get to Carmarthen but I can say when we are able to go there then this is where we eat,no doubt about it ,it`s so yummy! Its the best fish and chip shop we have been to in years.

I love fish and chips and have eaten in the best in the country from Whitby to West Wales. This is the third time I have managed lunch here and on every occasion the meal has been superb. Tasty, good quality fish in wonderfully clean and crisp batter and perfect chips. However, one of the main reasons to eat here is the service. The owners and staff are friendly and cannot do enough for you. I took my family, including my very lively under two-year-old granddaughter and they were brilliant.

I have previously bragged this chippy in the past. But, we went there this week for our usual fish and chips and it was awful. The fish was basically batter with a small piece of hard fish inside. Very greasy and a few chips. We won't be back in a hurry. Sorry but I've got to be honest.

First visit to the town for many years and we stopped here for a takeaway. The fish on the batter was some of the best I have had in years and the kids rated the jumbo sausages as good too. Chips were average. The food was lovely and hot and they dont stint on the salt and vinegar. A good price for a good take away compared to our local chippy in England

Como era domingo las patatas fritas eran fresco y estaban bien, la salchicha, sin embargo, era horrible, hecha y seca. Quizás esto era porque era domingo y había estado allí por un tiempo, pero que en verdad debería haber vio cómo fue seca y el encogimiento.

A menudo nos paramos aquí en nuestro camino a casa porque el pescado y las patatas fritas son tan buenas. El pescado es siempre de excelente calidad y es fresco a la orden. Las patatas fritas son los mejores que hemos tenido la luz y crujientes por fuera y deliciosamente suaves por dentro.

Anteriormente he tenido buena comida aquí, pero hoy me decepcionó a ser servido chips muy grasosa que parecía que había sido por un tiempo considerable y el pescado era espantoso! El bateador estaba seco y muy bien cocinada y el pescado por dentro era duro y seco. No me llame de nuevo

Have been popping into this café for a number of years now, always for lunch and have never been disappointed. A couple of good portion main course meals plus hot drinks came to £13. The mix of customers is always pleasant and the place is kept nice and clean. The staff are very pleasant and service always comes with a smile - see you soon - thank you Team West End Café.

Freshly cooked food with a menu much broader than just a Chippy. The food is wholesome and plentiful and always served with a smile. I like the place especially as they have haddock my fish of choice on the menu and it is always a generous portion. Good chips and mushy peas too!It is as good for takeaway as it is to eat in and the widescreen TV makes the short wait for freshly cooked food even more pleasant. A good honest establishment run by friendly people, I think it knocks spots off much of the competition and is very handy in the centre of town.

Stopped in Carmarthen for fish and chip supper on way to holiday in Pembrokeshire. I bought fish (cod, medium size) and chips and took out. The fish was as tough as an old boot. In fact, I had to check it wasn't an old boot it was so tough. Batter was tasteless and I couldn't eat more than a mouthful of it. Would never take a chance on this place again.
