Wenzel's the Bakers in Redbridge

I don't recommend it, how many times have I ordered and they kept delivering different ones, I wrote to them and they have you in the pit, there is no willingness when a customer orders and pays, you have to value it like this, that you have customers in your ass and in the pit, you will lose every customer !!!

the lady use same tong for bacon and cheese and onion pastry when i told her she cover that we are having two even though i saw with my so disgusting they really meed to respect religion

I was on my way to this store when I saw a pigeon fly out of it. (Not walk but fly to indicate it had been quite deep inside the store). I paused to see if I was seeing things and saw the pigeon go right back in as if it paid rent. This is absolutely unhygienic and staff seemed to be used to this. There’re bakery items out on display such as bread which to confirm is not wrapped up. Irregardless, there shouldn’t be pigeons flying around a bakery, seeing the reviews and given people also suffered from food poisoning lets me know hygiene standards are out the window. I have a phobia of pigeons and couldn’t even get a sandwich. This was on Monday 10th, today is Tuesday the 11/02/25 and my colleague told me she to went to Wenzel and after ordering saw the pigeon right behind her flying around. There’re doors, make use of them. Close the shop and remove the items on display as this can greatly impact someone’s health as you know, pigeons along with many other pest carry an insane level of bacteria. I will not be eating at Wenzels again because I quite frankly prefer my life and health rather than staff who love animals and consider them “harmless”.

Ordered via Uber Eats to try it out and regret that decision so strongly ever since! I ordered a Chicken Salad Baguette and as I finished it, I got a weird taste in my mouth and a turning feeling in my stomach. It has now been around 4-5 days and I have been vomiting uncontrollably, consistent visits to the bathroom as well as an awful churning feeling within my stomach. It is safe to say that I believe I have been suffering from food poisoning (given the symptoms I have been experiencing over the past few days) and with this in mind, I would strongly advise against giving this Wenzels a try. It could’ve just been my order, yet I would rather you not risk the chance of suffering from the same symptoms I have been putting up with, as I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy!

Loved the piri piri baguette. It's so cheeeeesy and saucy that we didn't need any sauce or ketchup with it. We requested them to be freshly made, which they fulfilled. It took 12 minutes but was toooo awesome. it's our 2nd visit and surely will be going here frequently. For just 4.5£ we had a great meal.

This place used to be cheaper and now it’s getting expensive, it costs £7.50. It’s the shame really, Greggs is much better

Firstly, I walked in and the shop was really clean which is always a plus. Breads were assorted nicely. On that day were unfortunately out of drink but have been there prior and they had the fridge half full. Then greeted by the most helpful staff member her name was Farwah she was really polite and also helped me save money buy recommending me the meal deal. Food was really fresh. Would go there again. Perfect for lunchtime breaks.

Racist staff is all you need to know. My partner went in to order a sandwich and could not find the sandwich available. He waited until it was his turn and politely asked the woman behind the counter that once she had served the other customers, if she would be able to make the sandwich he wanted. She said no she was not making any more sandwiches (this was at around 1.30 so hardly late in the day). He went to see if there was anything else he fancied and as he did so the white woman behind him asked for the exact same sandwich. The woman behind the counter said yes of course to her. When my partner asked why she had not agreed to make his sandwich especially when he was first and it was the exact same sandwich she then said she was only making this woman's sandwich and that was the only sandwich she was making. The only difference between the two interactions is that the woman was white so it is quite clear overt racism by the staff here. Note to self do not go here, unless you like to support racist, bigoted staff.

Ordered through ubereats, terrible packaging! My coffee was leaking plus breakfast rolls were cold! I felt sorry for the uber driver as his food pouch got wet too.He was very surprised to what had happened, and apologised to me so many times. Please package the coffee cups well, wrap them with cling film so it does leak!

Great for food on the go and staff are always friendly

Food was very good one of the best sandwiches.. I go at least once a week. I left my phone there today and kindly the worker his name Lee add my phone my phone secured until I got back and collected it thank you very much. Very honest person

The place was very clean with good customer service, unfortunately the item I brought were a cookie and it had bits of hair and blue stuff on it like it was dropped on the floor and just picked and put back on display. Because of this it really put me off and make me question the food hygiene

Love their jam doughnuts. Wish we had some Wenzel's branches around South East London

The absolute BEST Tottenham cakes EVER! Way better than Greggs the cake is just so beyond soft and bouncy absolutely delicious, also love the egg and cress baguette they do very yummy 👍🏼

In the area and needed some quick snacks to take away, the place is busy but the staff are very nice, the young lady that served me was very polite. The gifted doughnut and yumyum were very decently priced and I was told it was tasty, the lemon cake they sold apparently tasted homemade. For the price you pay you can’t complain, although the coffee was cold and not the best I still gave it a 4 because it’s was relatively cheap. There are no seats inside and this is located in the square before you get to the mall.

Ordered a pizza which was rock hard and incredibly dry. Disappointing.

My first time I’ve got half a cake that was rockhard. The second time I’ve got a cupcake that was also rockhard

Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of fresh bread and cakes would say a better version of greggs. Lost a star due to only one set of tongs to break rolls apart.

Ordered their frappe. Presentation was great and the taste was initially fantastic, but the sweetness is quite overpowering.

Nice Yummies when warm, ok bread, beautiful rolls, doughnuts full of jam but slightly too sweet.

Patties and pastries were awful not enough filling and just not tasty. Absolutely terrible. Baguettes were on point though.

So happy there is finally a bakers in Ilford. Since Percy Ingal closed it's been dire. Tried their bloomer loaf and it was great. Although they need to put their bread on lower shelves as they aren't easily reached for people with short arms!

I ordered a perri toastie and was given the wrong order and no accountability was taken and no apology.

Ordered a melted peri peri chicken and cheese baguette and it was potentially the most PLAIN and BLAND food I've ever eaten. I hope this Wenzel's takes note of this and brings themselves up to par with their other branches as they're tainting the reputation.

Ordered a southern fried chicken panini. Had this from another wenzels and was nice Clearly the people that run this one in ilford haven't got a clue

It's the place if you want to get fresh breads! They have a huge selection of fresh sandwiches, baguettes and sweet treats!
