Wenzel's in St Albans

Had the breakfast baguette, massive portion and very tasty, and well worth the money, fills me up for the whole day (Deliveroo)

This is the Hitchin branch. Take away is a joke. Roll took so long the young ladies forgot about it. Coffee was drunk while waiting and roll was put in the bag so it merged with the soggy bits of the roll. No napkins offered. Total soggy mess with cold coffee. Never again.

There’s a young girl who works here in the mornings (wears glasses) and her customer service is the only reason I come here to grab lunch, super lovely!!

Hi Visited the shop today , some of the staff they have very bad attitude , don’t know how to deal with costumers probably would not come anymore to get the lovely sandwiches ! I’m disappointed!

Great bakery chain and nice to see them grow out of my hometown Harrow. Jamaican veggie patty is nice and hard to resisit, bread is alos good. Take that Greggs!

Good lunch deals but the sandwiches themselves were not as good as they looked. lacking taste and fillings.

Ordered and paid for 2 loaves and some cakes. No bread in the delivery. When I rang they said it was Deliveroo's fault - you can take it up with them. Or next time you come into the shop.... As if! Pathetic, useless waste of time. Hard to imagine worse service and I don't want to!

Great and very tasty baguettes. Meal deal was £4.50 with crisps and any drink. They had pies and cakes too. All of which looked nice.

Got a takeaway from Wenzels for breakfast ... a creamy veg slice, a Madeira cake and a moccacino. Very quick service. The veggie slice was just about right ... not very hot that it would burn your mouth, perfectly warm.

Visited to pick up a snack. Decided on sausage rolls. Left the premises and started to eat straight away. What a poor excuse for a sausage roll. Filling was pretty much non existent. Pastry just fell off nice the first bite taken. Not cheap compared to Greggs so returned to shop within minutes. Spoke to the lady who served me; she looked completely blank when I explained this was the worst sausage roll I had ever eaten. She said she would bring my feedback up with her manager. She reluctantly went to speak with manager who came to the shop front. Again explained what my complaints were. She did not apologise but said the sausage rolls come from a supplier and a they just cook them in store. I suggested a refund. She asked for a receipt which I explained I paid cash and was not offered a receipt. Eventually after I suggested she looked on the till roll as they had only served a couple of people she relented and gave me a refund.

Nice place,nice and professional staff. Food is very good and the sandwiches are great. I always find fresh and quality products.
