My cousin and I treated my mother and Aunt to some luxury in this beautiful setting. I paid for a champagne afternoon tea and we got treated like goddess’s. I highly recommend. All parties thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There were 3 courses. Hundreds of different teas to try, delectable sandwich choices, sweet treat cakes and incredible scones. The staff were absolutely amazing!! Definitely worth every penny!!!

Visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The entire afternoon tea experience here is outstanding. We received exceptional service from Sasanker and the food was delicious. Head and shoulders above my last afternoon tea experience at the Palm Court in the Sheraton Grand (will review separately). The salmon sandwich on turmeric bread was a standout for me. I asked for a refill of that and a coronation chicken brioche which was fulfilled with a smile. The scones were perfect. Crisp on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. The only improvement here would be for the clotted cream to have been served at room temperature. It had clearly come from the fridge and made it difficult to spread as it was still solid and as a result the scones were breaking up when trying to spread it on. The delicate pastries were as good as they looked. We didn’t manage to eat them all so they gave us a box to take the leftovers away. We were also gifted a caddy of tea and a charbonnel at walker chocolate. The icing on the top was the acknowledgment of my friend’s birthday. She was touched by the gesture and it was lovely of Sasanker to offer to take a photo of the occasion without us having to ask. I can honestly say this is one of my top 3 afternoon tea experiences (and I’ve been to plenty!) The ambiance was perfect for a leisurely catch up with a friend over the beautiful sounds of the live piano in the background. The seating is also not too cramped that you can hear your neighbours conversations. I would highly recommend and hope to return again soon.

The table is too small to fit three persons. After the tea pots brought up on the table, there are no room left. During the whole time, we were the only table in business, but they didn't bother to setup a bigger table, just kept pushing my phone off the table. I ordered three afternoon tea sets, so got two big pots of tea. It's like saying "now you have all your tea, go serve yourselves". We did end up serving ourselves teas. The food is quite plain and overly sweet, not good. The experience was painful. Don't try it.

Experience Elizabethan Royal Tea at Intercontinental London Park Lane. For a luxurious afternoon tea inspired by the legacies of the late Queen Elizabeth I and II, whose shared love for decadent teas and confections shaped the tradition of afternoon tea. The Wellington Lounge is an ideal meeting place for an early morning coffee and pastries, famed afternoon tea or an all-day-menu featuring classic seasonal dishes. Standing proudly on the former site of 145 Piccadilly—Queen Elizabeth II’s former childhood home—the Wellington Lounge pays respect to its heritage by offering traditional afternoon tea with a modern twist for an experience fit for royalty. The team has created an extensive menu of teas with the East India Company, complementing the various dishes available. Blending the best of tradition with contemporary twists, the menu presents a style to suit all tastes.

The place bills different than listed in their menu. Upon asking about the reason, they said that they had not updated their menu because doing so “was too expensive”. Since I already had paid, there was no much to be done - no that they offered any options to remedy the problem. It is incredibly disrespectful to overcharged customers after having decided based on the menu provided by them at the place. The venue should advise customers of price changes not reflected on the menu before taking orders, especially if they are higher. Hopefully there will more transparency from now on. Many thanks.

We were initially sat at a table by a member of staff and then told we had to move as this was reserved. We were then sat at another table which wasn’t laid with cutlery napkins etc and we had to ask for this after waiting some time. Food and drinks then took a while to come after being ordered and it was not busy. We still had a lovely time but the service didn’t meet expectations.

Great place for a spot of tea! Afternoon tea is decadent, well presented, and overall amazing. On request, you can get a second order of your favorite bites. Staff are always on hand to help and service is prompt, but not rushed in any way. The lounge itself is on the main floor, so there are no views and you can hear the hustle and bustle of the lobby. However, it's a refined, and luxurious space. Definitely one of the top spots for tea. Equally as good as Fortnum & Mason

Did afternoon tea with my wife while on holiday in London. It was the one experience on my bucket list (everything else we did was on hers, but that's another story). Made reservations here the day before. Easy to get to after watching opening ceremonies at Buckingham Palace. The teas and food were superb. 3 courses of sandwiches, scones, and pies as well as different tea with each course. Also came with sparking wine to start as part of the package, and a cute little sample of body sprays from Yardley. The staff was spectacular. Our main server (unfortunately I didn't get her name, but she was from Portugal), really made the experience, along with her colleagues. She recommended different combos of teas and food selections, and they were perfect. Super friendly and welcoming. Next I'm in London, I'd do it again at the InterContinental.

We found the Wellington Lounge at the Intercontinental Hotel to meet our interest in an English afternoon tea when the traditional places were full. So worth trying when a last-minute reservation is needed. While the tea is prepared for individual groups, not en masse, the quality of the sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, desserts and teas was excellent, with a greater variety than one usually finds. While not inexpensive, the value is comparable to others and actually a little better, given especially the quality of the sandwiches (additional servings were offered too, and one can try different teas), and the attention to flower fragrances in the ingredients as a welcome special experience.

Went for an afternoon tea here. The staff was amazing, so friendly and took really good care of us. The tea itself was also really good, a lot of great options. As for the whole tea time, the sandwiches and the desserts are not great. The dessert was inedible for all of us as it had fridge taste. Scones were amazing 10/10. Really hope they can improve on the sandwiches and the desserts as everything else is perfect. Apparently they change the menu every season so we got the summer one. They had a really nice collaboration with a perfume company that gave free perfume samples out at the end of the tea time.

We did the afternoon tea at Wellington Lounge and it was the worst experience. I've been to several afternoon/high teas in London and expected more from the Intercontinental brand. The lounge location is in the lobby, a busy foot traffic area with no privacy. The entire area is loud and disruptive with hotel guests walking around and talking on the phone. The fire alarm testing happened halfway through our meal. There is no dress code or guidance so the entire experience feels very casual and lackluster. Staff are not attentive and do not care about service. The entire experience was extremely slow and we did not feel taken care of. The food is mediocre and presentation is basic. There is no thought put into the tea experience - everything was served on normal plates with no explanation and staff let our teas overbrew and get bitter without telling us how long we should steep it. I would expect this to be customary at an afternoon tea experience. To top it off, the afternoon tea was expensive and not worth the price. A good suggestion for improvement is changing the ambiance and staff knowledge and effort around tea service. I honestly don't understand why this lounge received good reviews - perhaps the lunch or meal service is better but we were very disappointed with the experience and will not be returning.

So pleased we booked the Wellington Lounge for our Coronation Afternoon Tea. The lounge was beautiful with a calming atmosphere. The staff were all very welcoming and efficient in their work, all dressed very smartly. The afternoon tea started with a mixture of sandwiches followed by scones with a choice of preserves and clotted cream which was followed by a mix of beautifully designed cakes based on the Kings favourite drinks. All of the three courses were accompanied by a different tea especially selected to compliment the course, all of which were lovely. The food was all very tasty and we were given cake boxes to bring home what we couldn’t eat. I thoroughly recommend the Wellington Lounge for afternoon tea and will definitely be returning.

Myself and my friend had afternoon tea here. Excellent food and variety in all three courses. However I specified I was vegetarian and I was presented with the vegetarian sandwiches for the first course. When I bit into my ‘egg sandwich’ I realised it was chicken!!! My non-vegetarian friend also tried my sandwich and confirmed it was chicken. I let the waitress know but not much was done about it regarding a discount or complimentary drink etc. I work in hospitality and I was surprised nothing was done about it. Could have been more serious if something like this happened with an allergy! I would suggest maybe changing the type of bread on the vegetarian sandwiches so it’s easily distinguishable from the meat versions. Apart from that everything else was lovely and the value was good.

Wasn't a big round up of 20p each but just felt a bit cheeky. Was nice we could ask for different teas but we found we had to ask for the tea to be replenished. Was nice to have refills of the delicious savoury items but we were never asked if we like more cakes or scones, not tat we would have had more. Terrible service, meat served to a vegetarian, 45 min wait for a table and no apology despite booking, 4 attempts to get the correct bill which honestly felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage. We saw multiple groups leave after waiting 90 minutes without even recieving a drink. Our food arrived 10 minutes before any tea, tea was undrinkably strong when it did appear. We asked for milk, hot water etc multiple times - some of which never arrived. We ordered a bottle of prosecco and were brought one twice the price with no mention of the difference. When I asked for a bottle in a price range similar to what was originally requested the head waiter audibly mocked me to a passing waitress. They were out of all white sparkling wine under £120 a bottle, which we were not prepared to pay given the disappointment we had experienced already. My friend who is a lifelong vegetarian was served rabbit in a croquette, so I would absolutely not visit this hotel with anyone who has allergies or religious dietary requirements. Clearly no communication between wait staff, as when our bill arrived there was 12.5% service charge added despite the awful service we had received. To add insult to injury, when the bill was brought back, a glass of £19 champagne had been surreptitiously added to it. I complained yet again and the head waiter appeared to offer an insincere apology entirely blaming the busy Christmas period, which obviously could not have been predicted. Eventually we were offered 25% off the food, which I think should have been offered outright and realistically I would have expected my friend's entire meal to be excluded from the bill given she was forced to ingest meat. Really the worst meal out I have ever had, and a sad way to celebrate a birthday.

The food is of very good quality and the service is excellent. My only note for improvement is that we were provided with 2 menus to choose from, one with meat and a vegetarian. We were a party of 3 people and 2 of us chose the vegetarian option as we found it more appealing but we were told that we would have to wait for about 15/20 minutes longer as if we wanted the vegetarian, we should have mentioned it on the booking. This quite confusing given the fact that not only it was not anywhere mentioned but that if the 2 menus are provided at the table, surely they're both available? The issue was sorted promptly by the kitchen staff and we didn't mind to wait, but this point could be improved (in my opinion, the food required for 2 vegetarian afternoon teas on a Saturday should be the minimum to have ready for any request). Apart from that, nothing to complain, it was a sumptuous afternoon tea experience and we all enjoyed it very much!

We were phoned the previous day and asked about our food requirements and special occasion. When we arrived we were asked about our food requirements. No mention was made of our special occasion throughout our visit. The afternoon tea team went off duty before we had finished. They had been lovely and attentive. The new team ignored us, and we had to request our cakes after sitting for 20 minutes waiting for them to offer. We then had to ask for the cakes to be boxed S the parking meter was about to run out. The team manager and waiting staff had been delightful. We were given a second set of the sandwiches. Although they were delicious, they were a little dry and felt like they had been waiting in a fridge for sometime. The scones were the best I have had, with jam and lemon curd. The cakes were heavenly. The only accessible toilet required a radar key, it was two flights of stairs down to the ordinary toilets, this could do with a rethink. This afternoon tea was very expensive compared with some others that we have enjoyed previously.

Service was slow and somewhat cumbersome. Immediately upon arrival at table, noticed fly in champagne glass before even sitting down so we had to ask for it to be replaced. Vegetarian selection was not executed as requested. Egg sandwich was to be replaced by roasted vegetable sandwich. Instead a different sandwich was replaced and egg sandwich still served. Sparkling water requested - still water served. Waited some time to attract attention of waitress. Water eventually replaced but not the glasses containing still water. Had to wait again to attract waitress' attention to arrange for fresh glasses. We were told that we could have a different tea served with scones and cakes from that served with sandwiches. Having finished sandwiches and tea - waitress did not check if we had finished tea nor were we asked if we required further or different tea. We had to request the tea - again when we managed to get serving staff's attention. Waitress arrived with fresh pots and cups but had not yet cleared those on table so it took a good 5 minutes to juggle placing pot on table (which already had limited space available) and then removing empty pot to put in space on tray and the same with cups etc. Rather cumbersome, unprofessional and uncomfortable to watch. Perhaps a larger tray could help... To be honest I have experienced better quality food and service on many occasions elsewhere hence why this review may seem harsh.

Stunningly presented celebration afternoon tea, part of the Jubilee weekend. Staff were attentive and friendly and made us very welcome without being overly intrusive. The food was delicious and plentiful. Unexpectedly a ‘top up’ of sandwiches was offered, this and unending replenishment of tea was delightful. The latter enabled us to try different types of tea from the lengthy tea menu. Only suggestion was that when we were rung to confirm our booking the staff member doing so came across as just a little brusque in telling us to be on time and that if we were late this would be deducted from our allotted 90 minutes. I am sure that this arises out of negative past experience but it meant we arrived feeling that this would not be the pleasant and leisurely treat we were hoping for. Of course we were be adult enough to get to the restaurant early given the Jubilee celebrations all around. In fact the atmosphere amongst the staff in the restaurant on the day was very different.

We enjoyed our afternoon tea experience, felt looked after and there was plenty of time between the courses so we didn’t feel rushed. Lots of types of tea to choose from, and following the savouries we were asked if we would like another round of it. We chose to share a second round for 1 between us and weren’t charged anything extra for it. The savouries were imaginative, scones hot out of the oven with homemade strawberry jam & lemon curd, the last round of cakes was wonderful and varied too.

We had the absolute best service - Serena was thoughtful, helpful, and just overall wonderful. Went for my mom’s first London visit and the memories made during our afternoon tea will last a lifetime. Very grateful for the team’s hospitality and for a lovely afternoon!

There was some confusion with the food order, however this was ok sorted by the head Italian waiter and provided complementary drinks. The food was very good ambience was nice and would recommend. We were celebrating my daughters 19 birthday and was a good way to end the day. Thanks

Lovely venue great host. The service was far to slow and only 1 server on. We waited 45 minutes to get sandwiches then they came out and the bread was stale. Was swapped straight away but had to wait again. The scones were amazing as were the cake. The tea was vey good and the lounge was very comfortable. Really enjoyed the experience but in the end I had had enough of waiting after nearly 3 hours and was surprised I was charged £7 for a bottle of water that was offered to us.

It was my mums very special 70th birthday and I had specifically asked for a surprise cake with a message, the waiter confirmed this, on the day nothing happened. It was so disappointing as it was meant to be a special celebration. I mentioned this to the manager and he said he would email me, I've not heard anything. Food was ok, pastries could be better.

Absolute amazing afternoon tea experience. From the moment you arrive, a very friendly hostess explains how they will be serving you, provides you a menu of the 20+ teas you can choose from with unlimited refills and changes, plus list of food included. You may request additional snacks for free, but frankly, after so much food, it is hard to find space for more. Each plate was incredibly decorated, nothing comes without o touch of color and style, so you will have a guilty feeling of destroying a masterpiece with every bite. If the options are overwhelming, the hostess provided recommendation as to which tea pairs better with each food. Allow a couple of hours or more to enjoy the experience. Certainly it will be one of our best highlights of our London trip.

We recently stayed at the Rubens at the Palace Hotel and it was such a pleasure. From the cleaning staff, front desk, concierge, doorman, and all of the personnel in the restaurants and bars, every single person was very polite very helpful and very accommodating throughout the 10 days that we stayed there. Each evening after we returned from our daily activities, we were greeted like family. Soroosh was waiting in the restaurant eager to get us beverages and any late snacks we might want, even near closing time. I would highly recommend staying here not only because of the great location but mostly because of the great people you will meet there.

Kom tilfældigvis forbi en tirsdag formiddag. Kaffetørstige. Den tørst blev slukket af den bedste kop kaffe, vi har fået i London. Tillige en super god betjening i en skøn atmosfære. Tak for kaffe.
