Nice little pub but if staying overnight in the accommodation, the experience and breakfast is not worth the price. You can only have 1 coffee and one of every item on the breakfast. Cracked bathroom tiles and no shampoo and other little bits was not reflective of the £125 a night price tag. Was a shame as the pub and main menu food was good.

Great roast beef lunch with all the trimmings...5 different veg, roasts, Yorkshire puds, tender beef and the best home cooked gravy I have tasted in a long while, all washed down with a great pint of ale. Excellent service too, in a proper old Cornish bar, in a proper old Cornish town. Honestly, what's not to love, we will be back.

If I could give minus I would. Staying near bye so decided to walk into the town and eat. There are 4 pubs to choose from .. we chose possibly the worst. We asked for a zero alcohol beer. The chap behind bar said corona I misheard and said peroni. Was laughed at be some drunken women.. she said sorry and tried to be polite back and was told to sort my accent out.. WE DID NOT EAT.. SO BE WARNED YOU MAY BE INSULTED IN A SCRUFFY PUB WITH RUDE CUSTOMERS.

The food was very average and not really as described on the menu. I had a special from the menu and my partner from the normal menu. Both supposed to be cassoulet but mine sweet potato and chorizo my partner was a butternut squash , but neither of them contained anything like, disappointing really as from the menu it all sounded good. The bar service was excellent though and the drinks we had were great, the girl serving was the saving grace

We have eaten in other places in St Just. This was our first visit to the Wellington. It is in need of a bit of redecoration. The front bar has rather tired white walls. I suspect it serves as the breakfast room for the hotel but doesn't really have the right atmosphere. However the hand-chalked pictures above the bar and the faux-etched windows (for the coronation) were a nice touch. The food was okay. Miscommunication amongst the staff meant we didn't get the full menu. Music was a little loud. HOWEVER: We got the impression that it might be on the up, so we'll give it another go next time we are in the area.

My family arranged a surprise mother's day meal here on 27th March 2022 we were greeted as soon as we walked through the door with a friendly smile from Nina and Henry. We were asked if wanted to go straight to the restaurant or have a drink at the bar first but we decided to go straight to the restaurant. I was presented with a glass of bubbly and they took our orders. From start to finish the service was outstanding, the food was just devine, cooked to perfection, with a range of tasty vegetables and more than I could possibly eat. The choices of home cooked food were fantastic and I would definitely highly recommend people to visit and eat in the restaurant. Compliments to the chef and we'll done to all staff at the The Wellington Hotel see you again very soon

I accidently came across this little jewel to book for Mum and I , it's an area I frequent yearly.. i had to change the booking due to my Mums mobility and they couldn't have been more helpful locating a room on 1st level. Sadly the day we were due to arrive my Dad passed away. Again they couldn't have been more understanding and helpful and were able to find me a beautiful little room with a gorgeous view for myself at short notice later. Dee and team have such a wonderful way of making your time with them feel special and everyone is so friendly from waiting staff to room service, and as a Vegan I was blown away with how nothing was a problem at all, super breakfast to start the day and lovely hot shower to end it. I will absolutely be returning....soon i hope x

This is an unpretentious pub and it was windy wet and we wanted a light hot meal rather than a roast and all the trimmings Sunday lunchtime We discovered this was primarily a vegetarian restaurant but had seafood on the menu We went for battered fish and chips and requested two conditions 1) fresh and locally caught 2) lightest of batters Yes it was local fresh haddock in a very light batter and I must say I rate it up with best I thanked the chef/proprietor - a delightful passionate woman - for once the fish was not drowned in batter the usual case We wish her success for providing an alternative to traditional pub food

Friendly staff but dreadful meal. Our family of 6 waited almost an hour for our food. Two of us ordered the crab linguine which was very dry and devoid of any crab (unless you count the odd bit of shell)! The kitchen had messed up the order and so we had to wait an additional 30 minutes for a fish and chips.

My friend and I dropped in for lunch last week and enjoyed a very reasonably priced lunch that with drinks came to £18. Great value. There is a limited menu that covers most of the basics and we enjoyed a lasagne and a Haloumi burger. Freshly cut chips too!. Not going to set the culinary world alight but at that price it was very enjoyable and worth every penny. Friendly and prompt service too, and a welcome wood burning stove to keep us warm.

A treat from a dear friend brought me and her littluns to this lovely spot for a thoroughly enjoyable evening :) On the surface the place gave little away so I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted with a warm and cosy pub, full of local happy faces quietly enjoying a midweek tipple.. Having recently changed hands, the new owners were wonderfully cheery and out to accommodate our every need.. We were particularly impressed by their promise of a hearty Vegan dinner (not a common sight in little old St Just that’s for sure). The sweet landlady D instantly took to us and the kiddies and kindly offered to hold the baby whilst ensuring the 3 year old had his hands full of colouring pens and paper. And before we knew it there was a table full of colourful food and in front of our faces too! The more than Yummy Vegan Squash Stew was an obvious choice for my plant eating preferences and went down wonderfully with a pint of their local ‘Proper Job’ ale :) My fish eating friends opted for the Scampi and skin on chips which I can only assume went down a treat judging by the smiles on their faces! Particular compliments went out to their home made vegan friendly tartare sauce :) My friend was so pleased with our meals that she had kindly ordered us all dessert, which finished off the evening perfectly.. Especially since it was all served with a juicy helping of Vegan ice cream :) A fabulous local setting filled with happy humans and some warm, tasty grub made for a splendid midweek dinner :) A firm favourite for our next outing in St Just!

We ate at the Wellington a few nights ago, and it ticked all our boxes. Having only just arrived after a long drive we were starving and itching for a pint. So glad we popped in the Wellington. Someone is keeping the cellar absolutely tip top because we went between all the ales and they were A1. I chose a steak and ale pie, the Mrs chose a halloumi burger. It was good, honest, decent stuff. Nothing crazy or fancy, just well cooked and we wolfed it down. The girl running the show at the time was Lauren, who is the difference between an average night and a good one. I've often considered running a food-based pub over the years, and she is exactly who I would want working there. Needs a pay rise if you ask me, because you could easily have some boring sod behind that bar who would make a visit dull. Instead she accomodated us completely, and told us everywhere we needed to visit, and recommended pubs, and just made us feel like it was our local. Also, a pint of Proper Job in there is second to none.

After ordering our food we had a long wait. Fortunately the other customers were friendly so we got chatting. We were beginning to wonder how long it takes to produce a bowl of soup when it arrived, along with our main courses. Apparently you have to specify that you want your starter as a starter. Really??? The other customers were warned to made sure they stated that. They took the main meal away to keep warm and when we did eventually get it we were very pleased to find that it was delicious. So all was not lost.

I would encourage the chef to serve the stilton sauce with a small spoon because it seperates and settles, so the top of the jug is runny and the bottom was almost solid. The best thing about the Wellington Hotel in St Just is that it is in St Just. And on a cold evening in October the Market Square in St Just is a wonderfully moody, grey and atmospheric place to be - icy winds, stark granite and all. Wir haben hier nur ein Nachtessen eingenommen. Es hat durchaus geschmeckt. Uns wurde jedoch bis zum Schluss nicht klar, was wir am Tisch bestellen konnten und was an der Bar selber zu holen war.

Popped in here for lunch as a family of four, ordered at the bar and food came quickly, very helpful -staff and couldn't fault the food or service. Bar had a non-commercialised feel and a nice atmosphere although perhaps could do with a lick of paint here and there. Would pop back if we were in town again.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.

Had a lovely meal,Rump Steak& Croft Burger, then sweets to finish. Great food and service. Shame the weather wasn't a little better as we would have sat outside after our meal.

We were on holiday and ended up eating here 3 times. We had our dog who typically was nervous in eating places so we never bothered eating out, we were given a table in the corner and asked for the same one every time which they obliged as she was settled, it helped that the staff were all so helpful and the food was so nice, would highly recommend the Pityme Inn and we will visit again, it made our holiday
