Very good COVID precautions in practice. Friendly staff. Steaks cooked to requirement - didn’t wait long. Very tasty! So good we went back twice! Thank you.

Just had our first and definitely will not be out last meal here. A superb buffet Sunday lunch with pork and turkey. Both very juicy and properly cooked. Potatoes, carrots, peas, parsnip and cauliflower. Good sized meat portions. Followed by the best apple strudel in years. Very friendly an a very nice restaurant. Thank you for making us so welcome. We will be back.

I stay in a lot of different places during due to work travel and I was a little apprehensive when I was booked into this hotel. Thankfully I was proved wrong, the room was basic but clean and had a good shower. But the food and service were excellent. Very friendly staff and a homemade meat pie to die for, definitely recommended.

We decided to go to the welcome traveller following a recommendation. We had reserved a table, which seemed the best thing to do as it was fairly busy at 1 pm. There is a carvery on offer which has 3 meats, turkey, beef and pprk. I opted for the turkey,my husband has a slice of each. There was a lovely selection of vegetables and also included were roast potatoes, roast parsnip and Yorkshire puddings. There was a wide selection of sauces and a plentiful supply of hot gravy. The dinner was delicious and was followed by dessert (our order for this was taken by a waitress, not buffer service). I opted for a trifle, and my husband chose cheesecake. The portions were very generous, and I failed to eat all of my trifle even though it was delicious. Highly recommended.

It's a pleasant place and the staff are very nice. I guess the chap on the carvery is the owner and he's very welcoming and friendly. Portion wise I have never been given so much meat which was cooked very well although the beef was somewhat overdone for our liking. The roasties lacked their crispy coating and were pretty tasteless. A good choice of veg a bit hit and miss as to whether is might be a little too al dente. The huge failing was the gravy, bland, bland, bland. Not a hint of an oxo cube! It would take very little for this place to be excellent but at the moment we would not return.

Everything was well cooked and the meat (we had turkey and beef) was lovely and tender. Plenty of choice of veg, sauces and other extras, and it's a proper homecooked sunday roast, and plenty of it. Friendly atmosphere and good service - would recommend. Our only quibble would be that it would be easy to convert the step into the building to a ramp for wheelchair users, although there is a good concrete ramp from the carpark to the building itself.

We've wanted to try the buffet breakfast for a while now and I must admit it has been worth the wait. We were greeted by a very pleasant lady who opened the door and made us feel really welcome. All members of staff were very friendly and seemed happy to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was really nice and there were constant supplies of food even though we arrived at around 11:15. Would definitely recommended, see you soon! Thanks

Fantastic carvery, Geoff was a great host. The neighbours offered us a warm welcome and where great hosts. Geoffs cooking was sublime and was something you dream about in our dreams. The turkey was something not like your usual dry, I can't recommend this place enough, make sure you book and ring before you come.

Went to a friends birthday party here and stayed the night also. From the min we walked through the door we were made to feel very welcome. We was early and went to the pub part where we were offered food that was prepared for the locals after the Rugby sausage pie was really nice too. Had a fantastic time at the party and the accommodation was clean warm and very comfortable well worth the money for a double room. Breakfast next morning was really nice traditional cooked breakfast tasty and plenty of it. We will be definitely be calling in here again when out and about

First visit to the Welcome Traveller for Sunday carvery - will most definitely be going back again!! Good home cooked food, plenty of it and hot. Excellent selection of vegetables which were served in smaller dishes and replenished regularly thus ensuring you don't get that 'sat on the hot plate for two hours' taste! Jeff, the landlord and chef, visited every table after all the diners were served to ask if everything was ok with the food - a really nice gesture. All in all couldn't fault the food or experience, a most definite recommdation 👍

We came here for Mother's Day carvery. It was absolutely gorgeous, the chef and rest of the staff were very friendly and proffesional. Very cosy pub with a comfortable warm welcome. Loved the log burner! The only thing that I will say was a downer was the size of the carpark, everything else was near perfect. We have booked again for a birthday in April. Keep up the amazing work guys :)

What a disappointment! Given the reviews we thought at least the steak would be good. Well the meat was certainly good but the cooking was awful. In my book rare means succulent and still juicy, not solid and dry all through! This run down and seedy establishment - dingy and the table was sticky yuk! - even boasts input from Alex Polizzi (the Hotel Inspector) - clearly they didn't listen! There seemed a lot of family members around, including a small child still running around the tables in the "restaurant" at 9pm, but none of them appeared to be working productively. If you care at all about what you eat and the ambiance of the venue avoid this place at all costs!!

All the staff made a 60th Birthday meal with friends a wonderful evening. Food was served promptly, the Steaks you could "cut with a butter knife" which according to Paul is the best complement. Thank you all for your hard work. Look forward to returning on future special occasions.

Took my family from away to have a Sunday dinner at the Welcome Traveller, my sister and her son sat in the reception room while I fetched my husband and brother in law my sister enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and my nephew who is Downs was loved the attention that was given especially by Babs. My brother in law who is not easily pleased was delighted with the meal and commented that it had been the best meal he had had since arriving in Pembrokeshire - obviously I should take some lessons from their chef!!!!! he was also amazed at the fun and relaxed but professional service we had. Babs again seemed to be enjoying herself and was so relaxed - yes in times past she seemed a little scarry - wouldn't have dared to be late - but now she seems to be really enjoying interacting with the public. The Dining room has been transformed from what was a slightly cold looking school canteen to a warm friendly resteraunt The parking is easy, there is no problem with disabled access as I take my Mother there at times and she is in a wheelchair. The food is really good with plenty of choice, all cutlery was clean to sparkling and the staff good. Waiting time was short, but the staff were so friendly I don't think you would be bothered if it was longer.A big thank you to Babs and her daughters and also to husband the chef. We didn't stay in the accommodation as I live local and my sister and family stayed with me but I would have no problem recommending the hotel for any one to stay at. Geoff and Jan Morgan and family

Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.

It was a rainy Sunday in Pembrokeshire. We were hungry, and a Google search pointed this place out. We almost knew what to expect and fancied a chinnese. Anyone with physical limitations do not try to access. No lights to the path and pitch dark. Once you're in it's cold and sparse. A few tables to accommodate sit downs but this place runs mostly on take aways. The cook was very busy. A young man taking orders, serving and dealing with customers coming in and out. Bit chaotic. We kept our coats on ate our dishes, which were nicer than expected. Worth a venture ... some fun a bit like faulty towers. We would go back.
