Date 31/10/23. Time 18:21 The good news is the food arrived on time , the bad news was the food I ordered was cold and like chewing soggy cardboard! It’s states ‘Crispy’ ! The Chicken looked like it was cooked a week ago and then binged!! What a joke or should l say that was on me , for what I paid and received 😤…. They say once bitten twice shy , well I will definitely not be biting anything else from the ‘ Welcome Inn’ any time soon !! Or recommend it to any body … my advice is , iff your passing and even had a skin full , keep on walking & Save your cash. .! Product Name Quantity Price Total 6. Prawn Crackers 1 £2.50 £2.50 22a. I'm not happy this is my second order from welcome inn sunderland i won't be ordering again unfortunately. My first order was chicken chow mein with mini spring rolls the spring rolls were dry the chow mein had no sauce it was extremely dry also I couldn't eat it unfortunately. Then I've just placed an order last night approximately 10pm they got my order wrong I asked for chicken and beef curry they sent me just beef curry so when I've rang them up today to explained what happened they refuse to put the situation right. I spoke to two members of staff the first member a guy explained the chef can't remember my order, I said it was only last night.Then I spoke to a lady she said I have your order on the computer however you should have rang us back straight away I said my order was a late order 10pm they close at 11pm, I explained I didn't eat my order straight away it was left on the bench they refuse to put it right for me. So in theory i ordered my food approximately 10pm it arrived about 10.45pm so i had 15 minutes to ring them back to rectify the situation thats not right. I said im ringing you now it was late last night. I said i won't order again sorry you ve lost my business and I will put a negative review online absolutely diabolical service to say the least.

Nice curry and special fried rice, get lots for your money started using this place in the last few months

Bought a Chinese takeaway last night to share with family. Unfortunately it was very bland. Beef curry has to be one of the worst curry’s I’ve ever tasted from a Takeaway. The sauce was over thickened with god knows what and lumpy that had not been cooked through. it had know taste what’s so ever and looked bright yellow in colour. Also the beef had a strange bitter soda taste. Hot and sour soup was also very bland, had no flavour at all. Just a slurry of red sauce with very little ingredients in it. Dry Spare ribs were the only positive part of this meal and the chips and free prawn crackers. But saying that the portion size of the chips not the biggest. I have to say this was one of the worst meals I’ve had from a chinese takeaway in Sunderland for many years and very over priced for the quality of food they’re are producing.

Food was lovely as always, really big portions. My only complaint is that the delivery driver didn't follow the delivery instructions. It's not a huge issue but my building only has two entrances and I specified which one to go to and identified two landmarks for him to help. I have to walk/get a lift down two floors, cross the entire building, get another lift/walk down the last 9 floors to get my food, and then do the same to get back, or go all the way down to the ground floor and walk around an entire apartment building to get my food. Its just inconvenient when I clearly specified where to go in the delivery instructions. I'd still give the driver 4/5 stars, he is really nice when I finally manage to get my food 😂

Just had a supper delivered from here and it was lovely I had crispy beef with rice the sauce was just right husband had chicken and prawn curry which had big chunks of chicken and massive prawns didn’t wait too long for delivery either

Always consistent. Takeaway is varied and very tasty. Often a gift to enhance your experience. Not the cheapest Chinese takeaway but certainly the best.

the worst take away food I have ever had

Delivery doesnt start until 6pm which is an hour later than most places. Biggest issue is just how bad this place now is. Currys are bland overly thick and barely full of meat. House special szechuan had 3 pieces of chicken, 2 prawns and minuscule pieces of beef. Over priced considering it was only full of onion and bamboo shoots. That and you have to pay for the rice seperate. Never again!

Chips and rips were over cooked, and my spring rolls wernt very ducky but apart from that th delivery time was spot on

My rice dish was missing from the delivery and the curry sauce was watery like soup..... Won't be ordering from here again

Absolutely delicious meals tonight delivered about 20 mins after i ordered online. I agree with my girlfriend, we will certainly order again.

Disappointed in the chow mein. No vegetables whatsoever was really dissatisfied not like real chow mein at all I've ate from other places. I loved this shop before but will think twice before ordering again although the soup was nice.

preordered the food before the restaurant opened and it was still 15 minutes late. spring rolls were soggy, salt and pepper chips were rock hard and looked like they were a couple of days old, chow mein was OK. very disappointing.

Our meal didn't have much taste at all. Disappointed with it after being recommended by a friend.

Food did not arrive on time however this was not the fault of the restaurant , I ordered the food on just eat at 20:10, although just eat said my order was received the restaurant did not receive the order until 20:57. Just eat estimated my delivery time for 21:10 and my food didn't arrive until after 21:40. The staff were very friendly and explained what had happened.

This meal planned for me and my kids was well looking forward to.... on eating it I have to say it was the worst Chinese/ Cantonese I've ever eaten ... no taste and tasted like mush !!! Even the kids threw it in bin and they eat everything ... so disgusting!!!! Vile!!! Will defo not be going back here... £21 wasted... thanks!!!

Got a chicken and prawn curry and the curry sauce tasted like a bombay badboy pot noodle the onions were hard and chicken was rubbery and the chips were scabby, all in all am gutted cause a use to go here all the time after a night out 😔

Ordered the food for 9pm for when we got in from work, delivery driver rang me at 8.30 so say he was outside my door. Had to send him away until 9 so was half expecting the food to be redelivered cold, however I couldn't be more wrong. The food came back dot on 9pm, it was steaming hot and really really nice. Would definitely order from here again, one of the best chow meins I've had.

Can you rate less than 1?Never again waited 1hr 40 mins for the order couldn't get through to restaurant at all to check progress. Chicken was overcooked, some bits you couldn't even chew. Just a complete disaster no further business. Delivery driver was pleasant justifying the 1 star

Husband enjoyed the Chop Suey good quantity. I had chicken and chips with gravey. Didn't expect chicken on the bone. Also it tasted deep fried and in old cooking oil at that. Would have expected it to have been roasted. Will stick to my usual shop down the road.
