Superb. Stayed for a weekend. Friendly and welcoming staff from pre-stay phonecall up until check out. High quality finish and facilities in room. Stunning location. Fab breakfasts.

Beautiful location, helpful staff and lovely food and beer. Place was warming and really nice all round. Wish we lived closer so we could go back.

We have been several times here and to be honest we’ve noticed on more than one occasion that the bar staff are quite disgruntled. The young lad who is regularly behind the bar could do with retraining especially as he is front of house, no conversation, no smiles and very matter of fact and makes you feel like your ruining his day. The older gent who is sometimes there much the same, wonder if they are related or own the place? Hmm. There was a scouser who was amazing but we don’t see him anymore. When you go somewhere like this it’s about the whole experience. The food isn’t great for the price. I’m assuming it is due to renovation costs of the property. A £30 steak had to be sent back as it wasn’t cooked properly and was very fatty. This happens. I was offered something else. Overall we won’t be going back which is a shame, over priced and could do with new staff who welcome customers and give that all important experience. Average spend for a couple £100. Good luck! Oh the dogs love it here!

Beautiful setting and lovely pub but that’s where the positives end. My meal arrived 15 minutes before my husband’s meal arrived (he had ordered a sandwich!!) We ordered onion rings with it which had arrived dripping in grease and tasted foul. There are much better places to dine in the area!!!

We stayed in the Orangery room (109) a smaller room but with a large private orangery (sunroom) attached with balcony and views straight out across the bay. The room was very well equipped and extremely comfortable with luxurious linen and toiletries. The restaurent and bar both had those views across the bay wherever you sat. The food was exceptional, both the evening meal and breakfast. The staff were all welcoming and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely going back for a longer stay as soon as possible.

Booked a one night stay at this hotel, at a cost of £195. Very nice location alongside the teifi river. Nice walk to Poppit sands beach with beautiful water and sand, and a Crwst cabin to enjoy a lite bite. The hotel staff were friendly, hotel smelled new and clean. Our room was a fabulous size, spotlessly clean and with lovely amenities. The bed was enormous and comfortable. Asked for extra pillows which were delivered to our room with no problem and no delay. Bedsheets were a little rough to sleep on. Biggest downside to this hotel is the breakfast. We looked at booking.com which states breakfast is included. We then booked direct through hotel, whose website states continental and a la carte list for cooked breakfast items in the morning. What neither says is that the a la carte is not included in the price. We were asked on arrival if we wanted to spend an extra £10 each to order this, and given a checklist of items to write down the foods we required to be booked. For a lovely hotel it somewhat cheapened the experience. This was the fourth out of five hotels we stayed at during a summer tour of West Wales, and the only one to charge extra for cooked options. A bit tacky and would probably be enough to dissuade us from visiting again. In saying this, the buffet continental was plentiful and enough for us to be getting along with.

Train your staff in customer service, eye rolling and attitude does not make for a pleasant experience when one is being quite polite!

I used to go here on occasion while stationed at Brawdy. It was a great place to go after a session of surfing. I was saddened to hear that it recently suffered a fire.

I called in with my parents on a Wednesday night. Do no pass this pub up, the food is all homemade and so delicious (the chips are amazing) and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We visited while on holiday and hope that next time we're in the area, the pub is open so we can visit again. Thank you so much for a lovely evening out
