Looking forward to fish and chips while on holiday. Batter was not cooked properly - not even a hint of cooking - could not eat. Chips cold and some not even cooked - awful such a disappointment and would never recommend

Fabulous food, good prices, but forgot our pickled onions!

Wonderful food here. Had the Lamb burger which was Devine and the chips are great! Not too greasy, perfectly cooked. Staff very friendly and welcoming, something that most places seem to lack. Thank you

This place was a life saver as we were visiting St Davids out of season & several places were not open . Several others that were open stopped serving lunch at 3pm & started dinner at 5pm & we were all extremely hungry around 3.30!! Hanger! Symptoms relived by large portions of freshly cooked& tasty, fish, chips & peas. Good, prompt service , warm surroundings & the dogs were allowed in too……. Perfect 😄

We have been here on numerous occasions over the last 4 years, whilst on holiday,and searching for a new home.We have mostly eaten out/take away.We sit on the benches in the old memorial area,and are generally met by other happy people dining out.On this occasion being January,we decided to eat in.Table service was excellent 👍👌

Brilliant food and service, atmosphere was good but due to snow not many customers eating in.

£2.50 for the smallest portion of chips I have ever had from a take away and to top it off they were cold.Definitely won’t be going back there.

Visiting for a few days - found this lovely welcoming fish and chip restaurant. Good food, lovely helpful friendly staff, dog friendly and able to have a beer from the bar whilst we waited for our food. I had fish and chips and my partner had beef chilli. Would highly recommend a visit.

We came at around 7.40pm (their closing hours is 8pm) and the staff still warmly welcomed us. The staff were extremely friendly even though we made them have to work later by dining late. Atmosphere was great as there’s a large dining area at the back, with good music. Food was extremely huge portion, we couldn’t finish even with 2 people sharing a fish and chips. Not sure why this place is getting bad reviews, i will definitely recommend this place!

If you want tiny portions and a teenager serve you who could not be bothered moving faster than a snail in a bad mood then this the place for you.

Visiting St David's and stopped for fish and chips, staff so helpful and funny, I couldn't decide and he advised on the fish bites which was lovely, yummy 😋 such a welcoming place.

We are on holiday staying in St David’s and stopped by to get a fish and chip takeaway. The service was good and the food lovely, freshly cooked and good size portions.

Lovely portions of chips by this fish bar and a decent size as well! My partner who ordered the meal commented on how lovely the server was and how friendly he was. Good spot for a quick find to have a spot of lunch!

Fish was awful it was just mush and so bland which makes me believe it was frozen fish that was used, it had been cooked in oil that was too hot as burnt on the outside and slop in the middle, not to mention when I took the masses of batter off the manky fish(supposedly cod) was tiny not worth 8 pound. Chips were old and stale was like eating cardboard, used so much salt and vinegar to make them edible. The kids meal was literally frozen fish fingers from a super market. I would have complained if I could find anybody to talk to, but no one to be seen. Very poor

Terrible piece of fish...dont even think it was cod. Chips were edible. £10.50 for £5 worth. Don't waste your money. I didn't bring my food back because I wasn't willing to drive back from Solva just to get my money back.

I don't often leave bad reviews but this one is well deserved. Went from being the best fish and chips I've ever eaten to literally the worst. Ordered one haddock and one cod. Both exactly the same fish. Both absolutely tiny. Both covered in mushy, pancake like batter which I peeled off and the fish just tasted watery and had no taste. Ordered 2 curry sauces and got 2 mushy peas. (Threw them in the bin) Small chips with no salt and vinegar that i asked for and stale bread rolls. Only half decent thing was the sausage that I ordered specially for my dog. Tried to call the Shop but it was closed otherwise I would have returned it. We literally fed the majority of it to my dog! The shop was very busy and it was close to closing but thats no excuse and it really was that bad. Now driving back to St davids to get pizza

Most places in St Davids are busy at lunch time, but Peters Place offers food to take away. We had lovely wraps and also fish and chips. They have a few places to seat outdoors. They have a good variety of meals.

Food ok, small portions, large ques, bit expensive, 12 pounds for one portion of fish and chips. If you dont mind waiting and moneys not a problem it's ok.

We visited at David’s over the bank holiday weekend. Visited Peters Plaice on Monday tea time. Food was fresh and hot and good sized portions. Staff pleasant. A little wait for food but understandable due to how busy it was. Would highly recommend.

Would love to have said how nice the food was... alas, I can't. Joined the queue well before closing time only for them to conveniently run out of potatoes at closing time, not the only fishy thing I smell. Would make more sense to stay open later, close the gates to stop more people joining, serve the remaining people in the queue and order more potatoes.

Cannot believe that on a Saturday evening of a lovely Bank Holiday weekend this place had no potatoes left to make chips!!! A long queue of people left with no food and told the potatoes are in the farmers field. What a joke. Need to learn some business sense. Potatoes last more than a day, get stocked up for a sunny Bank Holiday weekend in a high tourist location. We're regular visitors to St Davids and this place, won't be buying his chips again. Disgusted Reference your reply, I've been coming here for 40+ years. St Davids has been very busy for many years. You didn't get the brunt of anything, we managed to find somewhere else to eat. Have queued in lengthier queues at this chip shop many a time and never been turned away due to not enough food

I would rate this 10 out of 5 if I could! Desperate to find a gluten free lunch we trawled the town in vain, only to find the perfect Gluten free fish and chips!!! The proprietor took time to tell us that as his father is coeliac he makes sure everything is safe for him on his premises!! The fish and chips were perfect!! Crisp batter, fresh plump fish and perfect chips! Thank you Reuben for perfect service too!

Service was quick, that's the only good thing I could say about this place. Staff very unfriendly & food really bad. All had a bad tummy after eating here. Gave 1 star as unable to give a zero.

Resembled more or a youth club than chop shop! Large chips ? Well, the fish must have still been alive and eaten half of them ! Clearly kept in business by the passing tourist.

Best Gluten Free fish and chips I've had!!

We didn't order enough chips for a family order, the size of the portion wasn't that big, so didn't factor that in. Will know for next time though!

Staff were rude and lacking enthusiasm. Swearing often and not under their breath. Short stocky lad with brown hair may as well leave as he obviously doesn't want to be there. Food was ok but have no urge to visit again as St David's has many food outlets where your not treated like a nuisance.

The grub here is excellent and the fridge is packed with top tier lager and also some "boring drinks "like Pepsi and all that bloody rubbish. The lads work hard and are always supplying me with only the very best scran in the country. So I highly recommend you check it out> BOSH!

Just your average fish and chips restaurant. Perfect for lunch on wet day because there's setting round the back. Food is cheap and come's quick. Would recommend.

Food is great, the surly sounding teenagers on the front desk let the place down a little. However the guys making the food really know what they’re doing.

Funny little place tucked down the side of Lloyds Bank. If you're in the mood for non-pub fish & chips they are OK. Fish & chips come separately which is a bit odd but no big issue. Fish could have been placed in the box with more care. Evening sunshine & can of bitter shandy helped.

Fish and chips average. Soggy batter. Chicken over done and dry. They seem disorganised. 6 people behind counter and a half hour wait.. Unbelievable. It's like they cook every order individually with having a few fish etc already to go. Wont rush back.

We purchased fish and chips from here three days ago. The chips were very greasy, but the fish was worse. The batter was not crispy and a very pale yellow and soggy. The fish itself was even more soggy and had no taste whatsoever. I feel I can say that these were the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten.

Oh wow, the fish and chips were delicious. We got it as a takeaway. We had the haddock (skin on) it was so tasty. Very different from the usual fish n chip shops. Along with curry sauce and mushy peas.

The person who served us was impatient and rude (Not the pleasant one with dreadlocks). If it wasn't for a regular customer, who was somewhat drunk standing by the till with a glass of beer in his hand, who diffused the situation, it wasn't going to end well as I had been pushed to my breaking point quickly. The rude guy was apparently exhausted after a hard day dealing with awkward customers. He was cheered up slightly when the drunk guy brought him a bottled beer to have behind the counter (very good image for the business) To make things worse, the lamb burger was almost cold and strange tasting, although the fish and chips were tasty and really enjoyed by my fellow diners. There are so many decent eateries that vie for your custom in and around St. David's, that for a few pound more, you can enjoy decent food in a restaurant with decent service and feel like a valued customer as you should. Tip for the owner of this establishment - employ the drunk guy who hangs out at your till and goes by the name of "Matt the Mascot", he's a chef, he knows how to treat people and he makes them smile with his comedic antics.

Far more than just a chippy. Dining in,al fresco or take away. Have a beer while waiting. Clean toilets. Great staff. Please remember there is no waiter/waitress service or cutlery provided. If that's what you want then you're in the wrong place!!! Well done Nick & Team.👏👏👌

I can honestly say this was the worst fish and chips we’ve ever had. Undercooked, tasteless, poor portion size, expensive, really watery curry sauce… just awful.

This place is a hidden gem. Food is fantastic, service is brilliant with a wonderful little seating area in the back. It was lovely and clean, even the toilets were spotless. Really lovely food and big portions!!

The fish and chop shop ran out of chips towards the end of the day. Rather than apologising, the staff were rude to us and other customers. Bad vibes in the place! I wasn’t even ordering any food but I saw it all happening. My mates said the food was mediocre at best as well. Shame as fish and chips by the seaside is always nice but I’d recommend going somewhere else if you can.

I was expecting really good quality fish and chips given the reviews but sadly they were very poor. No light,golden crispiness to the batter - it was thick, yellow, soggy and tasted of old used oil. The fish was tasteless and not the lovely meaty...

A perfect spot to indulge in a fish and chip supper. The cod was fresh, the batter was crispy and light (the gluten free option my wife had was incredible!). Chips unbeatable and expertly seasoned. Lovely sides including mushy peas and coleslaw. Good selection of local beers and cider while you wait. Three cheers for Peter’s Plaice!

Not fast (20 minute wait for a simple order of scampi and chips). Scampi not worth £8 in comparison to cod or haddock. No salt or vinegar. Really disappointing.

Friendly and helpful staff. Gluten-free is essential for us and Peter's Plaice didn't disappoint. Eat inside in the restaurant or outside on one of the umbrella covered benches. Good sized portion but would be happy to pay more for a thicker fish.

£8 for half cod and large chips equals mini chips

I've had decent food here before, but this time was abject. A dollop of grey reconstituted watery sludge encased in a ghastly pale, damp batter, you would have to go some distance to find a better example of absolutely dreadful battered fish. And I shelled out £8 for the 'privilege' of being served this miserable gruel. Our "large" chips scarcely covered more than the bottoms of the trays. On the plus side, I was dished up this horror by jovial staff.

What potential this "plaice" has! In the resteraunt if you had proper plates, cutlery and mugs and didn't have to pay seperately on a machine for drinks you would be on a winner. Food could be better presented than just slapped on a polystyrene tray. As I presume this is the only fish and chip shop for miles around. Competition is not a bad thing to keep standards high.

Really good fish and chips. We had the cod bites, which were delicious and good value for money. So good we had it twice in one week, took it away and ate it watching the sunset at St. Davids Cathedral. Perfect.
