Dropped in for a chippy tea, no waiting, food cooked fresh, curry sauce best I've ever had from a chippy, and a nice chat with the host.

Here on holiday and called in to buy dinner for family (2 adults and 2 teenagers). Cost £48 for the four meals which I think is quite expensive for fish and chips but everything seems to be now so could over look this for a great meal. Food was ok but not anything exceptional, however the service was awful and very unprofessional. The server swore when the phone rang and when advised he had missed a fish from an order, swore at the chef and refused to go after the customer. I definitely wouldn’t return for this reason, I want to feel like my custom is welcome rather than an inconvenience.

Tiniest bit of cod I've ever had. Not even an inch wide! £4.50 for probably 3 bites. Sausage was grey inside. Chips were OK though. Edit, I understand the concept of a cod bite being half a fish, but even if you doubled the size I was given it would only just then be half a fish!

The location was good, right in the centre of the city. We were impressed with the number of locals there,always a good sign. The staff were really friendly and chatty. The food was excellent. Very well cooked and well presented. We really enjoyed it. Would strongly recommend.

We had take away chicken pieces , chips and a double burger with all the salad. Good value for money. Busy little place hidden down an alley . Could of done with having the food in a large box rather rather than 5 lots of packaging. They probably would of done it if I asked but I didn't realise. That's the only thing I would say would of made eating in the car easier . No big deal at all. Very tasty burger pretty sure they were from the local butcher . Good atmosphere. Would go again.

AMAZING fish and chips! Best I have had in a very long time. Perfect thin and crispy batter on the fish, and hot chips, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Staff on the takeaway counter were pleasant and polite. Wishing us a nice evening and hoping we enjoyed our food. It’s expensive but worth every penny! 👍🏻❤️

The fish and chips were great.Choice of beers good too. I cant rate the inside dining as there was a function on.I had to sit outside at the picnic tables.Which was OK

Visited for a significant birthday and wedding anniversary dinner. Nic and his team, kindly prepared a stunning roast dinner for our friends and family. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional cooked and served to perfection. Highly recommend

We had takeout fish and chips from here because of the reviews of the gluten free option. The normal battered fish was very greasy and unappealing, the chips were average. To be fair the gluten free fish was very good but chips limp and rather average.

Excellent fish and chips with an extensive menu. Reasonable prices. Lovely restaurant at the back with a bar. Toilet facilities too.

Sorry to report that for the £20+ we paid last night for two fish and chips we got two portions of extremely dull fish. Chips good. The batter and the fish really pretty tasteless. Have had so much better elsewhere.

Quite for lunch , infact i think the chef / cook had to be woken his hole demeanor was of a person who jad a banging hangover. Staff member who srved me swore because the phone rang and even told it to f off. Fish was no way fresh and as it must of been cooked in old oil was also soaking in old oil , thankfulky it was also a small portion otherwise i woukd of had to thdow more away .

We enjoyed our lunch stop here. My wife really enjoyed her Cod & chips. We both thought the chips 🍟 were very well cooked. They were much better than the chips from our local chip shop in Somerset. I'm a Vegetarian so opted for a cheese and onion pasty. Sat outside to eat and put an umbrella up that was set into our table when it started to rain.

Captive market, no competition and this is what you get. Below average chips, more like fries really, greasy and small portion, not that you'd want any more.

We had 2 cod and chips Very disappointing to eat at the end of a day swimming. Cod looked grey in colour and tasted not fresh, the batter could do with more seasoning and more crispy and less oily. Chips were ok. Couldn't finish the fish not because the portions were big but cos they didn't taste good.

This fish and chip shop has APPALLING customer service !!! They stop serving at 7.20 on a Saturday evening and give the last customer in the queue a wooden fish. They then expect that customer to turn other customers away rather than doing this themselves! At least put a sign up rather than expecting another customer to do your dirty work for you ! I certainly shan’t be returning. If you are relying on getting your evening meal from here, make sure you go at least an hour before closing time in the summer.

Everything freshly cooked. Tasted healthy as a result. Do children's meals in boxes. Efficient service given the commitment to cooking everything fresh. Amazing memory and speed of the person serving us to log everything on the till to keep the pace of taking orders and serving customers!

I'm sure the batter hadn't been seasoned and hence the fish was bland, shame (you can't make up for this with salt on the outside because it doesn't stick and it's only on the outside).

I love coming here for food, came here to get chicken chunk wrap must say amazingz the variety of choices and being allowed to choose what sauces and salad I wanted was amazing some places will just throw what they want it but I get asked what I want and they delived exactly what I asked love this place will definitely come back Staff were friendly and kind and took there time and wrote down if I wanted salt or vinegar and wrote all the salads I wanted down so they can make sure it's write percent plaice

I have been coming to St David’s for years visiting my sister in law . We always come to peters plaice ! It had the best fish and chips in west wales . Especially the haddock .. And we always have a cheeky wine too while waiting . All of the staff are so friendly x Thank you Helen

Pasty was a microwaved supermarket thing. Pie little better. Chips greasy and that's generous comment. We threw most of it away, and even the seagulls turned their nose up at it

If you like really greasy fish and chips this is the place for you. i don’t it was awful. Would not recommend.portion size was good just under cooked

Undoubtedly the finest Fish & Chips I have ever tasted and I'm 74 years old. The service and cleanliness and service were second to none. Luckily I only live seven miles away so I will definitely be back.

Catered for gluten free. Kids in the courtyard were screaming, feeding the seagulls didn't make for a pleasant experience. Sadly, not the best fish we've ever had.

Thoroughly enjoyed the faggots here. Really tasty. My wife had haddock which was a little over done. Overly brown batter. It’s a place wheee you can sit inside or outdoors. Prices were pretty reasonable and we would go here again if we were in St David’s.

Thankful to find seating inside that allows dogs, excellent fish ok chips they had lots of black bits tho. Toilets were stinking ! Not been cleaned properly-ever ?

Just eaten Fish and chips costing for 2 £28. They were awful, chips dry, fish grey and batter soggy. Very disappointed 😞 service unfriendly. We were staying in Nun Street 2 mins away. Seaguls enjoyed your food .

On a visit to St Davids we fancied a quick bite to eat. Pub menus were a bit pricey. No doubt to catch the tourist, so we called in Pete’s Plaice Chip Shop for sausage and chips before hitting the road on our travels. Service was quick and friendly. Food was fresh and cooked to order. Jumbo sausage and chips was £5.50 which was priced well in terms of value for money and the quantity was good too. Too often these days fish and chip shops in tourist areas fleece the tourists. A tray of chips is only a couple of spuds at the end of the day and I really resent filling the pockets of greedy businesses who try and make a fortune over the summer months by fleecing the tourists so that they can go and lie in the sun abroad in the winter! We were able to eat our food in a sunny beer garden to the rear of the premises at no extra charge to the take away tariff. Will be calling here again.

Old fish under cooked batter raw. Service poor plastic tray with food dumped on table, paper plates wooden cutlery. Tea and coffee from a machine in the corridor. Tables never been wiped between customers.

Great place for easy-access fish & chips in St. David's, but we likely went at the wrong time as the fish was greasy, chips weren't great, all in all the food quality kind of killed it for us. Guys working there were brilliant despite a huge line just as they were closing, hats off to them.

Young man omitted to give change, no apology when brought to his attention. Most unfriendly, morose attitude from young man who served us. Chips were good, soggy batter on the fish, which were eaten sitting outside on the benches provided. Unpleasant experience.

Little disappointed when I opened my box of chips recently , eat a few then discard the rest, usually I have had really nice meals everything's regarding staff and shop are 100% ok

Butter on the fish the flour was not cooked out, so that's all you tasted. The fish was under cooked. Chips were good quality, but under cooked. Not sure if the rushed it because it was busy? Heard some great things about it, but it didn't deliver for us.

Overpriced for small portions, cashing in on tourists. Shame as I live 1/2 hr away but won't be back again. £17 on food only to have to get something else on the way home. Food was ok though!

This place was a life saver as we were visiting St Davids out of season & several places were not open . Several others that were open stopped serving lunch at 3pm & started dinner at 5pm & we were all extremely hungry around 3.30!! Hanger! Symptoms relived by large portions of freshly cooked& tasty, fish, chips & peas. Good, prompt service , warm surroundings & the dogs were allowed in too……. Perfect 😄

We have been here on numerous occasions over the last 4 years, whilst on holiday,and searching for a new home.We have mostly eaten out/take away.We sit on the benches in the old memorial area,and are generally met by other happy people dining out.On this occasion being January,we decided to eat in.Table service was excellent 👍👌

Visiting for a few days - found this lovely welcoming fish and chip restaurant. Good food, lovely helpful friendly staff, dog friendly and able to have a beer from the bar whilst we waited for our food. I had fish and chips and my partner had beef chilli. Would highly recommend a visit.

We came at around 7.40pm (their closing hours is 8pm) and the staff still warmly welcomed us. The staff were extremely friendly even though we made them have to work later by dining late. Atmosphere was great as there’s a large dining area at the back, with good music. Food was extremely huge portion, we couldn’t finish even with 2 people sharing a fish and chips. Not sure why this place is getting bad reviews, i will definitely recommend this place!

If you want tiny portions and a teenager serve you who could not be bothered moving faster than a snail in a bad mood then this the place for you.

Visiting St David's and stopped for fish and chips, staff so helpful and funny, I couldn't decide and he advised on the fish bites which was lovely, yummy 😋 such a welcoming place.

We are on holiday staying in St David’s and stopped by to get a fish and chip takeaway. The service was good and the food lovely, freshly cooked and good size portions.

Lovely portions of chips by this fish bar and a decent size as well! My partner who ordered the meal commented on how lovely the server was and how friendly he was. Good spot for a quick find to have a spot of lunch!

Fish was awful it was just mush and so bland which makes me believe it was frozen fish that was used, it had been cooked in oil that was too hot as burnt on the outside and slop in the middle, not to mention when I took the masses of batter off the manky fish(supposedly cod) was tiny not worth 8 pound. Chips were old and stale was like eating cardboard, used so much salt and vinegar to make them edible. The kids meal was literally frozen fish fingers from a super market. I would have complained if I could find anybody to talk to, but no one to be seen. Very poor

Terrible piece of fish...dont even think it was cod. Chips were edible. £10.50 for £5 worth. Don't waste your money. I didn't bring my food back because I wasn't willing to drive back from Solva just to get my money back.

I don't often leave bad reviews but this one is well deserved. Went from being the best fish and chips I've ever eaten to literally the worst. Ordered one haddock and one cod. Both exactly the same fish. Both absolutely tiny. Both covered in mushy, pancake like batter which I peeled off and the fish just tasted watery and had no taste. Ordered 2 curry sauces and got 2 mushy peas. (Threw them in the bin) Small chips with no salt and vinegar that i asked for and stale bread rolls. Only half decent thing was the sausage that I ordered specially for my dog. Tried to call the Shop but it was closed otherwise I would have returned it. We literally fed the majority of it to my dog! The shop was very busy and it was close to closing but thats no excuse and it really was that bad. Now driving back to St davids to get pizza

Most places in St Davids are busy at lunch time, but Peters Place offers food to take away. We had lovely wraps and also fish and chips. They have a few places to seat outdoors. They have a good variety of meals.

Food ok, small portions, large ques, bit expensive, 12 pounds for one portion of fish and chips. If you dont mind waiting and moneys not a problem it's ok.

We visited at David’s over the bank holiday weekend. Visited Peters Plaice on Monday tea time. Food was fresh and hot and good sized portions. Staff pleasant. A little wait for food but understandable due to how busy it was. Would highly recommend.

Would love to have said how nice the food was... alas, I can't. Joined the queue well before closing time only for them to conveniently run out of potatoes at closing time, not the only fishy thing I smell. Would make more sense to stay open later, close the gates to stop more people joining, serve the remaining people in the queue and order more potatoes.

Cannot believe that on a Saturday evening of a lovely Bank Holiday weekend this place had no potatoes left to make chips!!! A long queue of people left with no food and told the potatoes are in the farmers field. What a joke. Need to learn some business sense. Potatoes last more than a day, get stocked up for a sunny Bank Holiday weekend in a high tourist location. We're regular visitors to St Davids and this place, won't be buying his chips again. Have queued in lengthier queues at this chip shop many a time and never been turned away due to not enough food

I would rate this 10 out of 5 if I could! Desperate to find a gluten free lunch we trawled the town in vain, only to find the perfect Gluten free fish and chips!!! The proprietor took time to tell us that as his father is coeliac he makes sure everything is safe for him on his premises!! The fish and chips were perfect!! Crisp batter, fresh plump fish and perfect chips! Thank you Reuben for perfect service too!

Service was quick, that's the only good thing I could say about this place. Staff very unfriendly & food really bad. All had a bad tummy after eating here. Gave 1 star as unable to give a zero.

Resembled more or a youth club than chop shop! Large chips ? Well, the fish must have still been alive and eaten half of them ! Clearly kept in business by the passing tourist.

Best Gluten Free fish and chips I've had!!

We didn't order enough chips for a family order, the size of the portion wasn't that big, so didn't factor that in. Will know for next time though!

Staff were rude and lacking enthusiasm. Swearing often and not under their breath. Short stocky lad with brown hair may as well leave as he obviously doesn't want to be there. Food was ok but have no urge to visit again as St David's has many food outlets where your not treated like a nuisance.
