Unfortunately, my time at this pub was not enjoyed, as it was a Sunday, I went to for the roast. But it was not nice. It was £8 for a children's beef roast. The beef was tuff and overcooked, the potatoes weren't cooked in goose fat like they advertised, the peas were hard and I only got 1 slice of beef, one carrot, one parsnip, one potato and a small amount of stuffing! I ordered the creme brulee for dessert and the sugar on top was burnt and the custardy bit was very sickly, no very nice. The only thing I enjoyed was the hot chocolate, but it was very expensive for a small mug of it.

What a lovely roast dinner at The Cove today whilst on holiday. The chef did a lovely job of creating a roast dinner with so many different flavours, a lovely atmosphere and nice chilled staff. I have worked in hospitality for 10 years previously in my career, and this is the tastiest roast dinner outside of a home cooled roast I have had! The flavours certainly live up to the Gastro Pub essence they want to create from their menu. Even the red cabbage was somehow fruity and spicy using star anise and many other flavours across the plate! Thanks again for a lovely roast and will be coming back again when we visit Tenby again! Booked a table here for our first night in Tenby but what a disappointment. We stood by the door for what seemed like an age before anyone came to seat us. The young man behind the bar appeared particularly grumpy although the young lady serving us was pleasant. I had a cocktail which was OK and the chicken korma curry and rice. The food was again OK but nothing to rave about. Not a very pleasant experience and will not be returning

Firstly the food took 40 minutes to arrive. Once it finally arrived the food was not great at all. Two of four roast potatoes were insipid and not at all crispy. There was only 4 roast between two people which is simply not enough especially as two were rubbish! This was brought to the attention of our server…she claimed they had no more and she could put the gravy covered one back into the oven! She was rude and unhelpful and dishonest because I watched more roast come out of the kitchen. All in all a bad experience and tourist or not we deserved far more for our money! The meat was reheated and overcooked…it didn’t taste good

Went on a trip to Tenby and saw The Cove on instagram. Booked but decided to just have cocktails for their 2-4-1 deal! When we went to order drinks they were blunt when they realised we weren’t eating. After one drink they asked us to leave after ignoring us and being cold upon arrival, even though we’d booked for an hour and a half. We all work in hospitality so know what it’s like but we ended up leaving, having spent our first evening in Tenby originally excited, turned slightly sour by cold service. They didn’t offer us outside or bar space so we felt like they just wanted us gone, even though the restaurant was fairly quiet with empty tables. The espresso martinis were lovely though!

Booked in advance as a treat for my friend's birthday. Despite having a table reserved, we were left stood at the door waiting to be seated for longer than necessary with a staff member walking past more than once with no acknowledgement. Was told in the end by another customer we'd be better off just coming in and finding a table ourselves because they'd leave us standing there for ages. In the end, friend went to the bar to ask if they could seat us. After some cafuffle we were placed at a table reserved for someone else in an area unoccupied by others at the time. Not a great first impression and left me on edge as it was a birthday treat for my friend. Food and drinks order taken by a nice pleasant lady, but some other serving staff were less enthusiastic, not rude but not particularly displaying great customer service. Food came quickly, looked good and tasted good. We both had steak and chips with peppercorn sauce (extra £4 each for that!) Left feeling our experience had got off to a rocky start but improved. That was until around midnight when we both started with awful stomach cramps that kept us up all night visiting the bathroom! Go somewhere else, I wish we had!

On a scale of 1 to 10, the food is probably a 3; it's edible but very cheaply and poorly made. Fish and chips were very dry, and the batter had no flavour; fish flesh was dry and cooked without any consideration or care. The beef burgers were overcooked and dry, slapped together by the chef, forgetting to add the sautéed onions; the meal took them almost half an hour to cook everything in a bar that was particularly empty. 16:10 on a Sunday afternoon on 26th August. Fries were fat soaked and practically tasteless. Only one waitress actually cared to help and check things while the other simply slumped against the bar as a wall flower with no regard for the customer's or her job. Overall, the food seems to be made from very cheap ingredients, poorly slapped together by amateur chefs who probably wished they were somewhere else, and barely edible. The kids thought the food tasted like a cheap school lunch. All that said, the drinks were refreshing, probably because they came from a bottle. I really suggest giving uour custom to any other restaurant in Tenby that respects you as a customer and makes even a modicum of effort.

This place was ok. Food wasn't anything to shout about it was just ok. Ordered Gammon after around 10 minutes a team member came to us and told us that they had just taken the Gammon out to cook it and it had " Gone Bad" I had to choose something else. The fact that they have food in storage that had gone bad did not fill me with confidence. Service was all over the place. There was a man at a table that arrived and ordered after us that had had his food and finished before we even got ours from the kitchen. I also overheard a family group on the table next to us had been waiting over an hour for their order. Seems so disorganised. Would I eat here again? I very much doubt it.

Visited this evening, and the venue was very busy with a bit of a queue, but we had already booked so we were quickly seated and our drinks order was taken and served promptly. We ordered our food, my wife had chicken, and I had steak . A little wait for the food but totally understandable with how busy the restaurant was , tbh it certainly wasn't too long . Our meals came, and my steak was cooked perfect , lovely onion rings and chips (my only issue would be about the pepper sauce , it was a bit thin and tasteless , didnt spoil my meal though .My wife's chicken with salad and mashed potatoe was very nice too. We had a voucher that our daughter had given us as a gift , no issues , sll very smooth and dealt with when paying the bill. All staff that had served us (again considering how busy the restaurant was )were attentive and helpful. Thank you, the cove , we will be returning .

Went here for our Daughter’s 21st Birthday meal having booked it in person a couple of days earlier. Upon arrival no reservation in the diary for us so great start. Luckily there was some tables available so was seated and given menus. Must admit i thought at the time there didn’t seem to be hardly any staff serving and those who were which seemed to be only 2 were doing both food and drinks. We ordered drinks which was about the only good thing as cocktails was 2 for 1. Ordered a starter to share and mains at the same time, starter ( nachos) was ok ish nothing more. Mains came eventually after having to ask if we had been forgotten about, around an hour after ordering. Daughter’s steak cooked wrong and had to go back, another members gammon was full of gristle so left. A couple of meals was just about acceptable but nothing special considering the price. I found myself on edge the whole time I was there and I’m not someone who likes to complain and kick off but was very close to exploding. Overall an unforgettable experience for the wrong reasons to remember our daughter’s birthday. Wouldn’t entertain the idea of ever going back if I come back down here again. I’m not just writing this review because it was terrible because I would have written one if it was good or average. Overall I personally would NOT recommend this place based on our experience.

Sadly our family meal today was very very disappointing. We had to pre order but still had to wait over 40 mins for the food to come out. Most of us had Sunday roast. With a random boiled new potato.. why? I sent my food back because the pork looked like it was cooked last week and reheated to a point of no return. The service was also sadly not great. We only got chance to order 1 drink and no water on the table. The veg all came out about 10 mins after mains and looked like it had been sat under hotplate for a very long time. We won't be returning and I do not reccomend. Worst roast I've had in a long time. What makes it worse is that we were on a family holiday. You book a table to take the stress our of cooking and then you are just disappointed.

However even though it was advertised inside on their special boatd, in their window and on their website we were informed we could not have this offer as it was only during term time. We placed an order anyway. The next thing we know is the manager coming out of the kitchen ranting that he didnt know why we questioned the offer. I have never been spoken to so abruptly. He kept on ranting read the terms and conditions i dont give a s*** . Which you can not find anywhere. The next thing we knew he stormed back into the kitchen and shouted cancel their order. After this bad experience we went to the Hope and Anchor which was a lovely experience with great food and hospitality. Anybody in Tenby please do not waste your time or money at the Cove!!

Average. We were sat in a booth opposite the bar which was comfortable but unfortunately we were opposite the entrance to the bar and the ranch doors kept staying open affording us a great view of the bins! In addition we also had a great view of the hatch into the cellar which when open - which was frequently- was filthy. I appreciate that this is a service area but not really what you want to be looking at. Our food was mixed - a lasagne which was good, an excellent steak burger, a very average vegetable curry with extra prawns and nachos with extra chilli. After about 15 mins I was told that there was no guacamole for the nachos, was that alright or did I want to change my order. I asked if the nachos were done and they were. I decided to stick with the nachos as I didn’t want to be eating my meal on my own or have my friends wait for theirs. My friend joked that Tescos was just around the corner and the next thing was the waitress going to the till for petty cash and going out to fetch my guacamole so we all had to wait for her return. As a result my nachos obviously sat under the pass - the cheese set and the edges were cold. It was a large portion so I did manage to find enough tasty, hot bits to eat though the cheese topping wasn’t very appetising. All in all not a very satisfactory experience. We returned the next night at 4.40pm to take advantage of the 2 for 1 offer on the cocktails. They were tasty and good value. We thought we were lucky to find the sofa in the window empty and then we saw how filthy and stained the armchair on the other side of the table was. Really it should not have been being used or should have at least been covered by a throw. It’s a real shame.

Didn't have food here but stopped for a drink .. lovely settling and lovely atmosphere . My only criticism is the customer allowed to vape while she was having a drink . While it probably doesn't bother most people I personally find it a bit off-putting to return and have food but will consider it because the menu really does look lovely.

After fancying a Sunday lunch and googling best places in Tenby, we came across this place. The pics looked good and liked the fact if not all of us wanted Sunday lunch there was other options! Booked and upon arrival seated promptly drink orders taken took around 10 minutes to arrive ordered food A sharing beef&turkey platter for 2 ,ribs, pie of the day and Mac and cheese with chorizo, took around 30 minutes Pie bland and for £15:50 a small portion, ribs nice but came with cold fries, the Mac was terrible and dry.But the platter which I had such high hopes for was rubbish.the Turkey was a bland and cold processed joint and beef not great ,though when 2 eating id expect with 2 or 4 slices but we had 3! A tiny veg dish which was around a tablespoon each of mashed swede, peas and red cabbage and a bowl of watery creamed leeks.to say we were disappointed was a understatement,I’d definitely not return sadly

Unattended staff, chipped plate, unhelpful, only 2 desserts available. Overcooked steak. Tasteless greasy fish.... I could go on, but just not worth the effort. Our advice, although for most restaurants its 'fishing in a bucket,' I'd look elsewhere for dinner.

Our food was tasteless and served lukewarm, not good value for money either. We shared the calamari starter - four pieces of calamari for £8, it had no flavour. It was accompanied by "aioli" - generic, bought mayonnaise with no discernible garlic content. Mains - I had sea bass, small portion, bottled "thermidor" sauce, undercooked potatoes. Accompanied by the most tasteless prawns I have ever had. My other half had the swordfish which was tender and meaty but again lacking flavour. No-one asked how our meal was at any point. A shared starter, plus a drink and a main course each was over £60. We certainly will not return. There was no heart to the operation, and no indication that anyone cared about the quality or the experience customers had.

The staff seemed a bit lazy and aloof. They were nice though. We sat near the kitchen and the door to it was open. The chefs were blaring out music which clashed with the music that was playing out front. I ordered the chef's special which was tagliatelle with sliced rump steak. The pasta was bland and the steak was very undercooked as well as bland. I asked them to cook it a bit more and it was better, but it was still quite tasteless. I would not recommend.

It was a very busy Sunday afternoon but the young lady arranged for a table for five, including a two year old and we were made to feel very welcome. Four of us had the Sunday lunch, (beef) and every meal was a delight to eat. The food was hot, tasty and very well presented, the veg was perfectly cooked too. The serving and bar staff were all very pleasant and we had a lovely dining experience, thank you!

Arrived at 12.23pm for my booking... seated for 20 mins still no offer of drinks so I went and got my own drinks. Food then took 50 mins to arrive to which it was luke warm but very tasty. Dust everywhere all over artifical flowers and a dusty bike right above table. Floor felt like it had been moped with grease very slippery. Dogs sitting on chairs. Very cold had a fire but was for show. Overall poor experience as a waitress myself I really think you need to re evaluate your staff!!!!! Worst experience I've had in tenby

We have visited The Cove several times over the last few years we enjoy the setting and the selection of food and drink. We travelled to Tenby in August for a one night stay and went to The Cove which we now regret and can echo other reviews regarding service. We waited an excessive amount of time for two burger meals well in excess of an hour. We did not have any appetisers. It was a Thursday night and it was obvious the restaurant or kitchen were and have been experiencing staffing vs demand issues. It is not a large restaurant but there seems to be an issue with the amount of covers they attempt to handle. On future visits to Tenby we will have to give The Cove a miss.

We recently visited the Cove. I have to say the fish that I ordered was possibly one of the nicest and fresh pieces of fish I have ever eaten. Also both my missus and children enjoyed their food. The overall service was fantastic. I highly recommend the Cove for a nice meal.

We turned up without having booked a table whilst on holiday in Tenby last week. It was about 5pm. We were seated and order was promptly taken. Our food was very tasty and hot - exactly how I like it. Five minutes before our meals came out, however, the lights were dimmed to the point we couldn’t see our food very well. I do like to see my food when I’m eating it to check if it’s cooked thoroughly etc so my recommendation would be to maybe wait until later to dim the lights. I would definitely return as we enjoyed our meals so much. Just don’t dim the lights too early!

Went to walk in holding my little dog in my arms to see if I could be served. I saw the “no dogs sign”, but just wanted to ask as there was nowhere to tie him up outside and I was on my own and hungry. Next minute the member of staff member behind the counter, shouted at me telling me to “get out”, causing all patrons in there to stop and stare. I asked if they could take my order and that he was calm and wouldn’t cause a fuss and again I was shouted at to get out. Awful service.
