The Cross Inn in Pembrokeshire

Call to check if you’re planning to eat, had a wasted 15 mile journey. Will not waste my time again.

There was no food on offer at all - despite being advertised as a gastro pub. Very limited selection of drinks and only one other person in the pub. The entertainment was Home and Away on a tiny TV. Not that I really expected entertainment as such but some music would have been preferable.

Great little village pub,well worth a visit

Nice atmosphere, didn't eat this time only called for a drink on way home after a day out.

Great pub & restaurant. Excellent beer on tap. Really nice menu. Big beer garden. Friendly owners and helpful staff. Well worth a visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I will definitely be back for another visit again soon.

Went for Sunday lunch, well organised, good range of beers and wines. The food was fantastic, lots of meat, loads of veg...... The staff were excellent. Can't fault them...

Was a last minute desicion to go here for food but glad we did its the most my 5 year old ate all week which is a compliment my wife and I really enjoyed our food staff were super friendly. Quality food quality beer lovely staff

Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch

Very disappointing - no starters or puddings. Service not good, didn't ask if we needed more drinks or anything. Asked for Worthington given the beer only to find out they don't sell Worthington but wasn't told it was something else so missold. Wouldn't recommend as a local and won't be going again.

Food is overpriced for what u get £4 for 1 piece of garlic toast and my lasagne was swimming in oil couldnt put it in my mouth and when we told the bar staff they werent interested would never go back

Good food and service. The staff were excellent in looking after the family. They dealt with the children’s requirements really well. Good food served and real ales.

Waited an hour and a half before we got our food, left sat outside for twenty minutes or more as our table wasn't ready despite booking in advance. Food was terrible with very small portions and overpriced for the quality and service.

Food was delicious here this evening. Had the cod and chips which was superb. Even the chef came out and asked if our meal was ok. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Well done to all. Highly recommend and will be returning soon.

We had a brilliant time at the Cross Inn, they found space for us and our little dog, got the TV set up so we could watch the rugby and then served some of the best pub food we'd ever had. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was quick and friendly. We had the cod and chips and scampi. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were great too. Would highly recommend, 5 stars from us easy!

Never visited this pub before but it had a good vibe, friendly people and a nice atmosphere. Felt like a place locals like to support but also a nice welcome for temporary visitors.

Never busy when we go here. No atmosphere food ok.

Quality of the food wasn't the best, burger overdone. Tables were sticky and it all felt a bit cramped. Service friendly however and good portion sizes. Not the best value for pub food either.

Lovely pub with a welcoming atmosphere, on a Saturday evening we popped in for a meal, i had the steak (rump) £11.95 which was think cut, cooked to perfection (rare) home made battered onion rings, mushrooms ect tasted AMAZING! My husband had the burger which he fully enjoyed. What a find, i recommend the cross inn, big portion too :)

Decent pub with a few good ales behind the bar. One of the only dog friendly bars nearby surprisingly, so add it to your list of you're passing through on an excursion. The pie filling was awesome.

The people were nice enough but the food, on our visit, was seriously awful. (meals were late and some forgotten) but it did come with an apologetic smile. All in all not an experience I will repeat.

Just got back from a lovely carvery, food was piping hot with a very generous portion of meat, serve yourself veg and gravy so plate was overflowing. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely return. Staff were friendly and facilities were clean.

Only a short walk from the Cross Park Holiday Village, we decided to try this place out one evening. The menu was extensive and varied. Also a good kids menu. We had a bit of a wait for the food but it was certainly worth it. I had a steak & ale pie and it was delicious. Good size portions and all freshly prepared. It is fair to say that all five of us eating could not fault the food in any way. Nice and friendly atmosphere too. A well deserved 5 stars!

My son (age 14) wanted to play pool which is available here. The staff were obliging. I found that the ladies toilet was flooded and in darkness due to a bulb being out

Great roast and a lovely pint. Had a real pub feel and a little grubby round the edges but that did not detract from the great food and drinks and hospitality of the staff and down to earth prices

Looks lovely on the outside, but basic on the inside. This is a real local pub.

Enjoyed the food here and the people running it was very polite, they just want to please you and we will be calling here again before we go back home.

We came for a family meal (with 3 children) and were greeted by friendly staff with good service. We were all happy with our meals. It's definitely the best mixed grill I've ever had (and I've had a few!) The portions were huge and the prices were very fair.

Sampled their fabulous curry, my wife had chicken korma and I had the beef madras- both worth a return visit. Generous amounts, served with samosa, poppadom and naan bread. Thank you to Ian (landlord) and Di (chef) for their hospitality and great service. Returning very soon to sample Di’s homemade pies and a few more tasty meals over the coming weeks.

I would give it 0 stars if I had the choice absolutely discusting food so bad no-one would collect our plates because they must be embarrassed. Food took a while to come,meat very very poor and come with it's own water to top it off it was warm. My boys birthday meal which was so over priced. 20oz mixed grill it was worth the most 7.99 and I paid 1995 and had two of them. When I complained the cook seemed to be put out came back same meat and with less water. My guess is it was microwaved. Cheeseburger buns were hard and the ribs were unbelievably dry. No-one could even look at us in the way out. Dear public avoid avoid avoid. Gordon Ramsay wouldn't even attempt to change this place. £70 gone for a meal for 4. What a joke

Food was horid and very poor meat would not recommend to anyone

Called in for a meal had to wait quite a while, when the food came it was disappointing, stake and ale pie was tasteless, we had three different meals and the only one that was OK was the lasagne, girl that served us was very pleasant, but food wise wouldn't recommend.

Been here couple of times staff really friendly and just had Sunday lunch. Would highly recommend it, food was fantastic and even better dog friendly

Arrived at the pub at 20.40 rs after a gruelling 8 Hour trip down from Nottingham (M4 what else?) ordered a drink and asked for the menu but the kitchen had closed 10 mins previously. The Manager took pity and opened up specially for us and served one of the best steak and ale pies I have ever had, packed with meat and tasty as anything. Top marks for customer service and same again for quality of food. Thanks!

The family decided at the last minute to have a light lunch. Sausage and mash came with a surprise giant yorkie. Bread Rolls rustic and tasted fresh/ homemade. Prawn cocktail very nice. Happy Easter

Good car park, outdoor area for kids, pool table, dart board, sky sports. Food ok, reasonable Sunday dinner. Tired surroundings and a bit dingy.

A great place for music, food and a wonderful meeting place

My family and I stopped at this pub on our way back to Cardiff, we had a beautiful roast dinner the veg was piping hot, choice of beef turkey pork and lamb and it was absolutely gorgeous.

Stopped in for unplanned Sunday lunch, so very glad we did. Food was excellent and brilliant value for money. We will definitely be coming back.

Made welcome by friendly staff, dogs allowed in bar area. Good selection of home cooked meals available for a weekday lunch, we had Shepherds pie and chilli from the daily specials, good portion size and piping hot.

Midweek, lunchtime, home cooked food, dogs allowed inside and friendly staff. Absolutely perfect, thank you.

Generally don't give 5 stars, but was no reason not too! Friendly staff and a clean pub firstly, then followed by 4 brilliant meals which couldn't be faulted in the slightest, decent portions and piping hot! Would definitely recommend and return!

Perhaps the decor could do with a little tidying but we ate here twice during our trip to the area and the food was excellent. Not cordon bleu but just honest pub food.

Called today for Sunday lunch we were charged immediately for our meals before being vaguely waved towards a table, asked for 2 glasses of squash at the bar which was warm and very weak, tables are too close together I had pork, beef & lamb which was ok but nothing special along with a burnt Yorkshire pudding, frozen undercooked vegetables and watery gravy no wonder we were charged for our meals before eating! Restaurant way too hot & stuffy will not be recommending or returning.

Wicked food well worth a visit 🍺😁

This was a pub that I had visited once before some 14 yrs ago with my family, so I remembered it as warm , welcoming ,modern and serving tasty well presented food . On entering and looking around I was confused .The interior was dated ,shabby and dark . I sat down and and ordered Chicken Pie mash potato and Roasted veg. My partner ordered Gammon Steak with egg and triple cooked chips and peas. The food arrived shortly afterwards .The chicken pie was homemade presented in a small pie dish with puff pastry, underneath was chunks of cooked roast chicken nestling in the bottom of the dish .The roasted veg were broccoli and cauliflower that had been shown some boiling water but had not actually made it into the saucepan ,instead they were put under a grill as they were slightly singed at the edges.The mash potato was nice so was the gravy. My partner had trouble chewing the Gammon Steak it was like leather and the fried egg was burned at the bottom the chips were hard ..let's just say we will not be going there again.

Great family run pub with awesome food. Highly recommended.

Estábamos cerca de aquí y decidimos ir para una comida. El personal era muy amable y servicial, nada era demasiado problema para ellos. La sopa de vino y parecía agradable, pero cuando hemos probado que no podíamos conseguir suficiente era tan agradable que incluso dijo...

New owner but needs to be a bit more consistent with the restaurant side of the pub only does meals when they feel like it and ruins the chips by triple cooking them, ruined what otherwise was a good meal. Should have a sign outside stating what nights they do meals.

Nice place with lovely drinks and amazing food. The food standards were exceptional. The chef has cooked everything to perfection. I will totaly visit this place again

Recently reopened I understand however very welcoming, well kept beer and very tasty food. Steak's were done as requested (bloody for us) and a great Burger and Steak Pie. Would recommend.

The best burger i have ever eaten im working away from home and i can tell u now this place beats the arse off any burger i have had from 7bone or anywhere for that matter the landlord took over the place 3 weeks ago and my god the food in here is un real and as for the service and the beer its top notch come down

laughing stock, im not sure but i think they have changed owners now but when i went back last year about augest we had burnt burgers stale buns, crunchy garlic chucked into a bread roll? they didnt even make it into a paste it was still crunchy it made me gag. flat drinks we complained and didnt have to pay because we couldnt manage to eat any of it

We were over the moon to see the Cross Inn reopen and we went for a family meal. The kids played in the garden, I tried the very nice Hoppy Easter and then we had a fantastic meal. We had always been happy with the food, value and service previously, but I have to say that we were all very impressed with new excellent standard. We will be back!
