We took our recently bereaved friend who lost her husband just before Christmas to the Weavers Whistle Lostock for a cheer up meal. What a disappointment. There was barely anyone in so we werent expecting a 21/4 hour wait for our food. The fish had no taste and neither had the scampi. I don't think we will be recommending or returning very soon

Nice carvery, good selection of accompanying vegetables and good meal options for the kids. At the upper end of what I’m prepared to pay for a quick Sunday carvery and kids meals, but ok value. Meat was tasty, beef a bit overcooked for my taste but still nice. Service was quick, friendly staff. Kids liked there being a play area outside - just a shame it was too cold outside for them to stay out for long but that’s not the venue’s fault! They also have an area with lots of kids books for them to read, which was great. My preferred dessert (sticky toffee pudding) wasn’t available, which was a shame, but the caramel brownie thing offered instead was nice enough.

We hadn’t been to Weavers Whistle since it was the Watermead. The carvery was delicious, portions were generous and the veggies great. The staff were lovely. The atmosphere was a little subdued owing to the lack of people, probably because it is the Sunday between Christmas and New Year. I would recommend you try the Weavers Whistle for a Sunday lunch.

We came for dinner. Partner ordered the Hunters Chicken and I have ordered the leek and potato soup as I was not extremely hungry. As the soup arrived, it was literally just under half a bowl of it. We politely asked about its quantity to what the bar staff informed the bowl was a big one for a standard sized bowl which we strongly disagree. Unfortunately, as we have already paid for it and there are no other pubs or restaurants within walking distance to where we are staying, we ended up eating it. Taste was ok ish. Nothing special. For both dishes. We understand the menu is not expensive, we were definitely not expecting fine dining in any shape or form and they can possibly be short staffed, especially during the festive season, but presentation and decent quantity of food should be expected. And management should be on board of such issues. As we had finished eating, we just heard the customers on the table nearer us also complaining to a member of staff about the portions and the service, so unfortunately, we were not the only ones. As per image, bowl is now empty but as explained, it was not full, so a very mediocre portion. It was literally "two fingers full" and it could have been slightler fuller. Four spoons and the soup was finished. We are a couple who eats moderately, so we were certainly not expecting huge portions, but not the extremely low amount presented. We understand that shrinkflation is happening everywhere, but this was extreme. It could be the case of, offering slightly less options on the menu to have more quality and continuity of what's served as, unfortunately, not worth the money spent

Well what can I say! We a family of 8 adults had our Christmas dinner at the weaver whistle. The organisation was chaos, after 20 minutes waiting for our table, when getting shown our table, there no sign it was Christmas not even a cracker, when realising other tables had got them and glasses for wine. I went to the bar to ask for them, they came 3 hours later with our sweets. Yes 3 hours an hour a course. After 50 minutes I had to ask for our starters. Although the soup was nice, the prawn cocktail looked like a 5 year old had put it together. The main course for 7 of us was a carvery, half the veg and gravy had run out, I was told whilst in the cue with my meat on the plate it would be 5 minutes before it would be replenished. One of our party was having salmon. This didn’t materialise until I had to ask again. All Luke warm. People on the table behind walked out after they had to prompt the staff to start serving them after an hour of being seated. Again waiting yet another our to get the sweets( after yet 3 prompts). The crumble was awful. Disgusting service

I’m afraid it was very poor service last night. We had a table of 12 and all ordered as a multi order. Unfortunately two meals arrived and then nothing for another 20 minutes or so then another 2 meals. After waiting over an hour and after checking where the food was, a gentleman came to ask us how many meals we were waiting for. Still 8! There was a problem in the kitchen which I sympathise with but no communication was given to us. We had to ask several times for a n update about the remaining meals. Eventually they were all brought but the lasagne was sloppy and the garlic bread burnt. The steak was super well done and I’d asked for fries but it came with chips. The burger buns were also burnt and two people still waited for their mains. This was over an hour and half still of waiting. No one asked if the food was ok, did we need anything or apologised for the delay. We have been to you for the past few years in Christmas Eve and never had any issues but we won’t be returning. The manager was useless when we complained and basically said it’s out of her hands and we’d have to complain via email. Not great customer service! Do better!!! Hospitality is down the pan. Several of us work for emergency service and Drs and also all were in ok on Xmas Eve so we feel the pull of working but just some empathy and compassion would have gone down better. Staff training required on the important of communicating when people are waiting. I do however hope the chef is ok. Sadly we won’t return which is a shame.

The pub itself is conveniently placed in a housing estate on your way out of Northwich towards the motorway. The pub itself has a large interior with plenty of seating, entertainment (snooker table etc), a kids area alongside a large beer garden. I would say this place caters well to those wanting a drink and the food is supplementary. I find most of the food pretty underwhelming. Don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with it. But, it's only ever going to be a cheap meal when I can't be bothered to cook or it's more convenient than alternatives. It's a minor complaint. But, I think it's worth mentioning in a review as to not being disappointed. I think that's reflected well in the prices, which are low. It's hard to complain when the prices aren't too much. If you're at the pub for a sporting event or a quick meetup with the mates I think the food is absolutely adequate but just don't expect hearty filling pub grub you'd get in an independent place. Other than that the staff were wonderful and super friendly.

Pre booked table online for 6pm for 7 as birthday/anniversary meal, got there no table laid up, had no idea we were coming. Starters came out and dumped on table for us - nobody did table checks. Paid £6 for 3 cheese bites which were cold. Mains came out the size of a starter and was disgusted with them. All food debris under table from previous guests.l and table was dirty. No cutlery laid up. Manager was cocky upon arrival and said we could sit anywhere despite specifying it was a special occasion meal. Totally let down by the whole experience and shall leave public feedback accordingly on social media. Total waste of money and time for a company that don't value your custom or acknowledge your booking.

A place with a friendly atmosphere. Staff who are willing to chat with you whilst serving you. This makes me feel very welcome. The food today was ordered at the bar. This was when we ate here for the first time, 2days ago. I ordered and paid at the table and couldn't find my usual drink, so I ordered an alternative one. At the bar I explained exactly what I wanted and everything brought to the table freshly cooked and exceptionally nice. So well done. We'll be coming back soon and bringing friends with us.

I booked a large table of 16 for my daughter’s 11th birthday on Friday but it was an absolute shambles. It started off well as they had reserved us a big room of our own for us all which was great however it soon went downhill. The food was incredibly slow to come out and when it did come out it came in dribs and drabs literally 2 plates at a time then it was another 10 minutes before the next 2 plates came out and so on and so forth so it took forever for everyone to get their meals and it meant that some people had finished their meals way before others had even received there’s and people were eating on their own. We realised there was literally only one waitress working in the pub serving everyone and she said there was only one chef on too so no wonder it was mega slow. There was also only one staff member behind the bar so literally 3 staff in the building - crazy on a Friday night when it’s busy!! To make it worse we had no idea there was a quiz going to be on (no one bothered to contact us before the booking to let us know of this or the fact waiting times for food would be long as they were very short staffed) and as we had speakers in our room the quiz was blaring out through them so no one could hear each other speak. We asked several times to turn the volume down or switch off the speakers but we were told they couldn’t!! This was the cherry on top of a bad evening in a very poorly organised and run pub. Some of my family members said their food was lukewarm and not many enjoyed the food they had. A disaster of an evening and it ruined my daughter’s 11th birthday meal which she was really looking forward to - she even got served her food last after everyone else which was really unfair and she was starving. Very very very poor.

This is honestly the worst food I've ever been served I don't normally leave a review but this place is disgusting the drinks where served in dirty glasses which they did change for us the food came out within minutes clearly microwaved couldn't even eat it didn't bother complaing after reading what other people had already wrote about the place please avoid at all cost I did take photos but it won't let me upload them. I've just read your reply which to be quite honest im even more disgusted with as you have just completely lied saying after taking some pictures I finished the burger meal please post on line the video of me doing this. wow it seems to me that every time someone has something bad to say about this place you will not accept any responsibility for you own disgusting food and then have the cheek to lie about it my daughter refused to even touch it and yes I did swop the sauce for a clean one then sent my daughter back over so I could take a pic of the first one I pick up there was no checks done at all whilst we was eating again another lie i never complained i didn't see the point and i never asked for a refund which quite frankly in my opinion was fully entitled too i have nothing to gain written this review all i wanted was to make people aware of how bad this place actually is I will most definitely not be eat at this disgusting place ever again and will be telling every person I know to avoid it at all cost.

I had an absolutely awful experience at this establishment. The staff were incredibly rude, particularly a blonde woman in a striped white top who walked away from us three times during our conversation. We waited over two hours to get our food, and it took around 15 minutes just to be served a drink each time. The overall attitude of the staff was terrible, and it completely ruined our visit. We also had a 30% offer we had received via email. We showed this at the till we were told they couldn’t honour it because it’s not on, on a Sunday. However it clearly states on the email that it’s on Monday - Sunday. Abby the assistant manager stood and argued with me about, her words were “ I am actually in the kitchen today and not on the front. “ this does not warrant the attitude, rudeness an apology would of been greatly appreciated. Just or not busy make the effort.

Zero stars! Horrible meal. Eat somewhere else. We waited over an hour for our meal. We even tried to canel our order and go somewhere else. When our meal was eventually served, my steak was cold and had an odd sour taste to it. It was definately rancid. It was suppose to be accompanied by brown rice, quinoa, soya beans and greens. I got 2 small onions rings and a pile of lettuce. When we asked the staff about my order they said they would check with the chef. They returned with a couple more onion rings, two baby button mushrooms and a bowl with a tiny bit of soggy quinoa (barely enough to cover the bottom of the bowl). There was no rice. Checked with the staff again and was told the chef said that's how it comes out all mixed together. Asked for the rice again to be told "thats how it comes." Couldn't eat the steak so had the lettuce with the vinegary quinoa slop on top as dressing. My husband had a mix grill with two bits of gammon, one which had obviously been left out then reserved and the other was undercooked. The chicken was squidgy (boiled in a microwave?) Shocking meal. On the way out we noticed the table next to ours was having similar issues with their meals. So not just a random bad luck meal.

Thought we'd try this pub as we were in the area, service at the bar was very slow and the pub was really quiet so not really any excuses, chose to have carvery, so disappointed, the lady that served us eventually didn't seem happy in her work no apology for the wait, no conversation only to ask what meat we wanted, poor customer service, The food was all dried up and most of the options were limited due to not being stocked up, the food was Luke warm & the potatoes were rock hard, decided not to have a dessert, oh and I had to go and look for cutlery & the tables around us weren't cleared and set ready for the next customers, I work in hospitality so I know what the standards should be & this experience for me was not a good one, we won't be returning.

Landlord and landlady are so friendly and accommodating. Took our granddaughter today, and nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely and good value for money. They even turned on the Cinema screen for us. Wide selection of books for children in the kids corner. Will definitely recommend and return. Thank you

Not the best experience I’ve had, food very average, service very slow and it wasn’t even busy. Don’t think I’ll return anytime soon.

Standard menu for a pub chain. Recent new management. Prices for drinks way too high for a housing estate pub, cheapest beer £4.70 (fosters) and limited options for cask (when they have any). Pool table and dart board in part of pub, that’s the only sports. Previously had Sky and BT but removed, losing custom doing that as clearly see when there are high priority games the pub is empty, like a morgue or library! Been a lot of occasions having to wait for bar service, one person working and they then have to also do food running. Marston’s higher management need to see how the pub is as they are dragging it down day by day, pricing itself out for people, and locals get no benefit for keeping it going.

Had a party of 11 here earlier today with the majority of us ordering carvery’s, with three others ordering off the menu. The pub was not relatively busy, however waited 45/50 mins for 2 burgers (one of which was wrong) and fish. Went up to the carvery and the dishes were practically empty. Asked if there were any fresh ready to come out which they called for assistance in the kitchen and stated they will be out in a minute. They didn’t arrive. Found it funny when they placed the plate on the scales to weigh the piece of fat they were giving us. After our main meals the plates were not cleared even though we had ordered a dessert. A further 40 minute wait for this. Asked for the Banoffee Chocolate tart with vegan ice cream, stating this three times at the till even though the screen said no intolerance and the member of staff confirmed ‘yeh they’ll tell them when it’s gone through’. This was then brought out and the waiter then huffed after being told we asked for vegan ice cream and had to take it back. Not a very pleasant experience at was once a nice pub to dine in. Unlikely to go back unless service and standards improve

When we arrived, the table wasn’t cleaned on pre-booked meal. Took about 45 minutes for the starters to come out, but only bought one out, then came back 20 mins later with the other starter. The carvery was awful, small amounts of meat, we ordered a large plate and was given one small piece of gammon and a tiny slither of turkey, everything was either cold or chewy, others meals were dry and horrible. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, not worth the money at all.

We visited as a family of 5, we waited a while for the food but was definitely worth the wait, a few other people visiting the restaurant were complaining over something so silly and became aggressive, threatening staff and shouting. The staff stayed so professional throughout and I honestly don’t know how they handled that so compassionately, even though they were shouted at they were so calm and respectful. The food was amazing, good quality and good amount for the price. The staff were friendly and inviting, we will definitely be visiting again :)

A superb venue that we have started working with. A cracking venue to hold meetings at, with plenty of space, exceptional service and good food. Looking forward to a long lasting relationship with the venue on a Tuesday morning. I would wholeheartedly recommend Emma and her team...

Was lovely meal, and the staff were great even when we did arrive 15mins before they finished serving. Only think I would say is where we went to sit originally was very dark the lighting wasn't great in the fair end of the restaurant. We did move further up, so all good in the end.

We used to really enjoy coming here. Not that often but when we did we always enjoyed it, unfortunately not tonight. The young girl working single handed was pleasant. The place was dirty, the tables sticky and the smell was terrible like a dirty smell and the place was freezing cold. The food was inedible cold and just a taste of fat. My partner had a mixed grill and the knife had water running from the wooden handle into his food which instantly put him off and I would have spoke to the girl but she was nowhere to be seen as clearly busy. It’s a shame but sadly we won’t return.

Seemed a convenient place to meet up with relatives half way between Chester and Stockport but extremely disappointing. Poorly presented typical pub food meals which are done better and cheaper by may 'chain' pubs. Staff generally disinterested in Customer Service. Expensive drinks especially £4.20 for Cranberry juice straight from the carton. Two meals were sent back as they were unappertising and badly cooked. Sausage and mash with gravy and peas: about 12 peas swimming in the gravy. We wouldn't recommend The Weavers' Whistle at all.

Very friendly & welcoming, clean. This is a chain so food is governed. Personal taste we found the bbq sauce very over powering so will ask for it separate next time. Chicken kebab was good but I would serve bread separately so it’s easier to build kebab. Sunday carvery was really good. Will deffo be back when we’re staying in the area again. 😁

Very disappointing experience, 2nd visit given benefit of doubt, but same experience. Lack of staff training, kitchen seem not to know how to manage timing. waited almost 1 hour for food, no salt & pepper. Hunters chicken very small , lack of sauce, the worst was starter soup, half bowl with half crusty roll. The mixed grill was unappetizing, chicken seemed boiled, steak very dry when asked to cook medium. Chips cooked in dirty oil. No sign of management on a sunday luncheon. Sorry, you had two chances, won't becoming back. I don't need to address the establishment, management should see for themselves be visible, go around the tables!

Had a delivery, wanted no cheese on the burger got 2 slices when it's clearly stated on the sticker "no cheese", fries were not in the cartons just in a brown bag, fruit shoot was upside down in the drink that was ordered, the fries in the kids happy meal where just put in the box loose not in the paper bag, ordered sauce guess what no sauce, no straws for drink no napkins. Fries were stale. Fair play to the manager I took it all back and she couldn't believe what I'd taken back. I got whole meal again on the house

Lovely staff who are very helpful. My room was nice but wrongly positioned, as I had noise from the street and I was near a swinging door which people would slam open then slam shut. No hot water in the shower.
