Great little wine bar in a converted victoriana underground toilet. It has a greatly vibe, and the booths are cosy and intimate. Great choice of wines and cocktails, with a fine selection of charcuterie.

A cute fun bar, with delicious wines for pretty standard London prices but the food was very overpriced - the cheese board had hardly any cheese/crackers/bread, the other share plates were very small, and by 9pm they said they were sold out of cheese and didn’t have one of the bottles of wine we were after. Most of the staff were lovely though.

little to none service. The waitress looked like she would rather to be somewhere else the whoe time. She brought the bottle but never served a drip of the wine, not even for the first glass when they usually ask how the wine is. We decided to remove the service charge, the waitress firstly said yes but then we found out we ended up paying 12.5% service fee without being informed despite asking politely beforehand.

my first speakeasy! was very warm when I first stepped in but these july nights are determinedly chilly so i can’t complain. the ambience was very warm and romantic, came here alone and just soaking up the conversations around me and music playing was lovely. my server was also really attentive and friendly, and the selection of wines (I only had a rosé) seemed well-thought out, and the cocktails varied. perfect relaxing end to an evening.

Great interior for fans of old London - a converted Victorian toilet with a great selection of reasonably priced wines. A nice little date night spot for drinks.

It's incredibly cool to have a wine bar in the former public underground toilets. That said, the place was cramped and dirty, the service was slow and aloof, and the prices were considerably higher than other establishments in the neighborhood. Delicious cheese plate, but we would still recommend other local bars over this one.

Wow, this place is amazing! It's a cozy and trendy underground wine bar located in Bloomsbury, and the atmosphere is fantastic. My friend and I enjoyed a delightful bottle of wine and paired it with some delicious mushrooms and truffle crostini. However, the real highlight was the Plant-Based Cheese board which was simply out of this world! The board included a mix of cold and hot cheeses that were so delicious, you wouldn't even guess they were plant-based. I highly recommend visiting this place!

Absolute rip off. The location is nice- drinks are within average range for London. But the charcuterie boards are an absolute rip-off. £30 for three bits of cheese and a few slices of average quality cold cuts is inexcusable. Just about acceptable for a second date drink location. Do not even think about eating there. The staff are nonchalant and not in a good way. After taking our order we were asked “is that it?” … I mean seriously. Ita not their fault. They’re underpaid and we the customers are overcharged. You’d be better off going to Waitrose and getting yourself a DIY wine and charcuterie board and having it in the park opposite. Crap. Even by extortionate London standards.

Omg, this place is so wonderful. A cosy and cool underground wine bar tucked in Bloomsbury with an amazing atmosphere. Johnny was absolutely wonderful and made the experience even more lovely!! Will definitely be back here soon!!

Very cool and different venue, warm, intimate vibes We had exemplary service from one of the waiters, Johnny, who had an in depth knowledge of the wine selection and took the guess work out of ordering so we could just sit back and enjoy ourselves! Wonderful evening overall

This place has the most amazing atmosphere and is a super cool find. Best espresso martini i’ve had.

Nice cocktails and amazing atmosphere however, the food is incredibly overpriced and the service was slow and confused. We were very disappointed by the charcuterie board which was literally 4 slices of pepperoni, 4 slices of prosciutto and 4 slices of salami for 28£. I would probably come back for a cocktail and to enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

Amazing bar! Very chill, laid back bar and especially LOVED the music! Friends & I were bouncing the whole time, some RnB some Soul, some 90s, SO GOOD!!!!!!!

A former public toilet, built in Victorian times and now Grade II listed? Underground and lined with cracked tiles? Maybe not what one might expect, but… A fabulous and friendly spot for a glass of wine and some delicious nibbles. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

What an amazing accidental discovery. A bit hidden away, this charming wine bar sits in an underground Victorian era WC at the beginning of Lambs Conduit in Bloomsbury adjacent to UCL. Wine selections were excellent and varied by varietal and country, and very good (we tried 4). Charcuterie, cheeses, raclette, bread…all very tasty. We ended on Prosecco and then Port.

EDIT: changed to 1 star, they’ve decided to increase the amount of tips they take off hard working servers. I’d avoid, unless you pay tips in cash. Otherwise, lovely place with great food and drinks. Staff were outstanding and welcoming from the minute me and my partner arrived, however I have knocked off 2 stars because the tips given are not given to staff and instead, they only receive half with the other half being kept by the owners. Look after your hard working staff, it’s their tip, not the owners!

Nice food and drinks. (Cheese fondue was meagre though tasty) But it really really needs a door in winter the curtain thing doesn’t keep the freezing air out.

Had a really great evening at WC Bloomsbury. The service we received was exceptional from the moment we arrived until we left. The wine was great and the cheese and charcuterie board was delicious. This popped up in my research about London's quirky bars and since my birthday theme was quirky and dark, this just fit the bill. Our experience went beyond expectations. This former Victorian toilet turned into a bar and resto had us at hello. You could feel the vibe upon walking down the narrow steps illuminated by tealight candles. The staff that greeted us was friendly and welcoming. We had a corner table that suited us well. The place can only accommodate 50 so it's best to book ahead of time. Delicious food and a good selection of drinks. We had the charcuterie board which was fabulous for its variety. The variety of bread was excellent. We also had baked camembert which was perfect with white wine (although the cheese could use some sweetness on the side like caramelised onion or jam). Overall, a very good experience for my birthday dinner. I've been recommending it to my friends.

Service was bad. Went for husbands birthday and listed it on booking and didn’t acknowledge. Slow service. The meat board was meh. Overpriced for bad service. Charged extra £4.50 for gluten free bread just becuase of my husbands allergy. Would not come again.

I went to WC Bloomsbury yesterday (Sunday evening) on the recommendation of a friend and they were CLOSED despite Google's listing AND their own website stating they were open on Sundays from 5pm. I even checked their instagram before going to make sure they hadn't posted anything about being closed for a private event, etc. Very disappointing, unsure if I will try to visit again as who knows if they will be open or not.

Very disappointed. I used to be a regular here. In the past, the staff used to be really friendly and welcoming, but there has been a fast turnover and the new staff and not so friendly. Also, their menu online and in the restaurant had the incorrect prices the last couple of times I went. The second time I asked the waitress before I paid and she told me there were stickers on the menu, which were not obvious. I was forced to pay more than I was advertised to. Very disappointed and won’t be going back!

Endroit atypique et vraiment sympa. La nourriture est bonne, les cocktails aussi. Néanmoins il n'y a pas beaucoup de place, j'avais réservé mais nous étions assis sur une petite table haute sans vraiment de place. Les plats sont vraiment bons, mais en faible quantité.

You’re right, this probably IS the coolest bar you’ve been to. Had to walk the traffic circle twice to find it but so cool once we did. The space is expectedly tight but I love a cozy vibe. The drinks (I highly recommend the peaches and cream) were fabulous. While it was packed, they found a tight cute little banquet spot for us. But it didn’t seem overrun. We didn’t try the food but it looked and smelled great! Actually the whole place smelled liked raclette! We will be back!

Lovely bar in unusual setting, nice food and wine while fairly priced

It's a lively and very cosy hideaway at the top of Lambs Conduit Street, underground where the toilets once were. The bar staff struggled to attend to the relatively small crowd. They only seemed to serve one type of bottled beer. The raclette came as a pot of baby roast potatoes, a pile of pickles, and cheese on little mini-fondue devices, designed to keep the cheese molten with tea light candles. Both had a pretty ungenerous servings of cheese. In one of them they had forgotten to light the candle. The other didn't even have a candle.

Great location but needs better signposting outside as it looks closed. Inside is a great cosy atmosphere in a converted Victorian toilet block. Tastefully decorated and retaining all original features, this was a lovely little place for great wines and lots of cheese. Not great for bigger meals if you're hungry. I think they were a little understaffed as drink and food service was a bit slow. Great time though and I would definitely revisit.

I have just turned up, in the freezing cold, to my booking at 7pm which the place being closed and padlocked up with no sign, no explanation, travelled 90 mins to meet my friend in town for a nice evening, this is unacceptable and I am so upset by this service, tried calling the Clapham branch and nothing.

A wonderful hidden gem in the heart of Bloomsbury. As the name suggests, great for wine and food - we had cocktails, wine and sharing plates. There were about ten of us celebrating a friend's birthday so it was a bit of a squeeze but the ambience and friendly service totally made up for it. Recommended!!

Such a cool place! They have this one and also one in Clapham too, a first time here though. I enjoyed it a lot! The staff were super nice and helpful. Make sure you book and also it's ideal for a variety of situations. Noticed there were a few tables for a group of six to gather but also a lot of tables for 2. I didn't have any food but saw some of the dishes, which looked amazing. Plus, the cheese boards looked great too! It's very cosy, cute and a stone's throw away from Russell Square (Piccadilly Line). I'd suggest possibly for people to go on a date night or if you want to catch up with friends. Great vibe 🙏 Solid A***** LDT x

Truly, and quite literally, a hidden gem. A very lovely experience here with fantastic service, divine wine, and yummy nibbles (plenty of gf/df options too). Be sure to ask about why this place is called WC! The story and history behind this place is terrific.

What an experience the team were exceptional. We arrived with no booking, they found us a table for the best cocktail (Mexican butterfly) the. Quickly found us a table for food! This place is a hidden gem. It’s quiet with a modern industrial ambience, combined with a candlelit intimate setting in a basement which used to be a public wc. Cocktails are very good with depth of flavour and concoction. Small dishes are good and they provide dairy free and vegan options. The chairs and table setting is very quirky. Ideal for an intimate date or people who like quiet bars.

You’ll need to look twice. The entrance is unassuming yet inviting. Yet clear signage entices. There is a crisp presence that greets you upon entry where your senses are dazzled by the most delicious mixture of period WC features and welcoming modern fixings of an urban London wine environment. Smiles. The team greets you with a genuine warmth and hospitality which was consistent throughout our visit - attentive, polite, friendly and not overbearing. The wine list reads like prose and drinks like honey laced gossamer wings. You can eat, and eat well - sublime accoutrement to the wine in the form of plant based and normie charcuterie, simply divine. WC, you are for me, merci.

sited in very unexpected place (converted Victorian public toilet, hence the name as I had just understood, not from the postcode), so takes some time to spot. But very cosy inside, and excellent vine and food. And service.

Enjoyed my time here. Half a bottle of pinot noir, mackerel pate and the duck with cranberry. All very nice. Sunday night was food promo night which made it even better 😉 So, yes it looks like a public convenience initially from the outside. But once you're downstairs and inside, the conversion has been done quite well but with the typical "toilet/subway tiles" remaining on the walls and the glass blocks across the ceiling allowing daylight in through the day. The only negative is that some of the seats up against the walls are a bit too small and 'vertical' to get really comfortable on.

We had a great night drinking cocktails and wine. The cocktails were delicious and was paired with delicious food. The duck pate was delicious. This was my first time here and the experience was great. I would recommend as a great date idea or a catch up after work. Will be back.

This place is phenomenal. We had the most amazing time. The staff was kind and the cocktails excellent. We tried a few different things and one was better than the other. I do wish they had more champagne based cocktails. We also tried the chocolate ginger truffles and again those were devine too. Last but not least, thanks to the arrangement of the space we felt like we are alone in our own private space.
